    His classmate visited the doctor, swallowed a bitter pill and chased it with juice. Before he went to bed, before something in his chest burned, he opened his journal and taped the note in; crossed out Reki’s name. “This is important,” he wrote below the drawing. Underlined it.

    He’ll never remember who drew this, but maybe he’ll remember his first lost, impossible love. He slept peacefully that night, and didn't dream of wild red hair and kind eyes.

    People keep getting Hanahaki for Reki; it's becoming a problem, even before he starts coughing up petals.

    Everyone would look at Langa’s far away stare, his cold demeanor and less than exuberant speech and think- This guy gives one shit, and one shit only, and it’s entirely dedicated to his continued survival.

    They wouldn’t be completely wrong, per say, but also not 100% right.

    See, Langa gives a few shits about stuff. His mom (with subcategories, such as, staying employed so he can help at home, doing good in school so he doesn’t worry her, and more), his S friends (he tends to group them in Miya&Shadow -they both interact more with Reki so it's not like he needs to split his attention between them- and Cherry&Joe -who are always together anyway, they might as well fuse into one Mega Skater Adult for all Langa would notice-), Reki (who has his own separated category because of course he does, with multiple sub-parts and side notes), Hobbies (though this tends to fall under Reki or S friends anyway) and… no, actually, that's it. 

    So he does give a couple of fucks, people got that right. But, as previously stated, all those fucks revolve around things that are firmly not his self preservation.

    After convincing Wan Shi Tong to allow them to explore the Library, the Gaang stumbles into the Spirit's Librarian, who happens to be an awkward, scarred, very-passionate-about-knowledge teenager.

    After Zuko gets banished, he ends up in Wan Shi Tong's Library. Wan Shi Tong, respectfully, says "fuck it" and claims him - sorry, *adopts. Now, Zuko spends his days in the Library, indulging his inner theatre kid and learning about anything he can. Then, three years later, the Gaang drops in.

    “Y’know, I really hope this is a learning experience for you. When the mad scientists down at the lab make a new and generally dubious substance—” Aaron adjusts his hold on Luke because geez, he’s somehow bulky and lanky at the same time. “—do not volunteer to be the guinea pig.”

    Luke’s reply to that is incomprehensible drunk mumbling in a familiar beat.

    “Kid, are you listening to me?”

    Luke’s mumbling takes shape and tune now with, “Hruhhhhrighttbackstreet’s back, alRIGHT, dah, dahh dah, dah.”

    “How anybody can be scared of you is beyond me,” Aaron sighs.

    Everybody in the NSB is scared shitless of Agent Raven. So when he gets terribly hammered testing an unsuccessful “pill that should make me not drunk when I should be drunk” as Luke dubbed it, the only one who’s willing to lug him back to his apartment is Dr. Aaron Yishmir.

    Ria is fine. Ria is alive. But Ria took that bullet to protect Luke.

    He can’t forgive himself for that.
