They truly loved each other.
They had for a long time, even if it took them a while to realise.
Spending all the time they had with the other, not wanting to ever go back to their previous existence.
That eternal loneliness was a thing of the past, because now they were together.
The inhuman monster, incredibly powerful, magical in his very essence, willing to do anything to protect his bride. A lonesome child, crippled from spawn, unable to process emotions for centuries, exiled from the humanity he deeply wished to join.
The cursed human, fragile and frail, all hope consumed by those around her, no one to hold dear and no one to be held dearly by. The most radiant of emotions, most bright of smiles, helping all and expecting nothing, seeing true value in everyone. Even monsters.
They completed each other like one another’s perfect puzzle piece, the unique spot only that specific person could ever fill.
They truly loved each other.
But so, why were they so bad at showing it?
Many afternoons had been spent like this.
The beast and his bride sitting together in a soft chair. Reading, drinking tea, talking about whatever came to mind.
It was often quiet, but a very comfortable kind of quiet. A quiet of the others heartbeat right next to them.
Chise hadn’t given much thought of how or what married life should or could be. When she was younger she assumed it would never happen, and rightfully so.
Now though, things were calmer. Problems had slowly given way to opportunity. She was happy. Truly happy.
For once, she had all the power to capture these opportunities. Make her own life better, and make her life with her husband better.
Looking up, she saw the underline of a bony jaw. The features and textures had once looked sharp and rugged, but now looked soft and smooth.
She wanted to seize something she wants.
Perhaps even something she needs.
Something more physical.
"Elias?" She asked to get her husbands attention.
A gloved hand instantly cupped her chin and cheek heartfully. "Yes, Chise?" Elias responded, a cheery tone he only ever held when his bride was there.
She started to slowly turn around.
"Could we try something?" Her body turning to face his, having made place on his lap, an arm on his shoulder.
His hand now around her waist, holding her steady. "Of course. What do you have in mind?" He asked her innocently, his red orbs for eyes shining in wonder of this beautiful person right infront of him. How this person was his, and only his.
"I want to kiss you." She told him. The magus tilted his head in confusion.
Elias would give nuzzles, hugs, even sometimes licks, and they could spend literal hours holding each other and cuddle. It was unimaginable warmth and time Chise would not trade for anything in the world, but she didn't want to stop there.
She'd given pecks of her lips on him many times, however she wanted more than that. More of her husband.
"Do you want me to change forms?" He asked her after a moment, some shadows creeping behind him. He understood she meant more than what she had given earlier.
Chise put a finger over the front of his jaw, in a hush sign. "I want to kiss you, silly. Not a copy." She smiled sincerely. "You know I always want the real you."
"But I... I can't kiss you like a human can." He beat himself down. He hated just the hint of not being everything his wife wanted.
She chuckled despite it. "So? I don't want the kiss a human could give me, I want the kiss my Elias can give me." Her hand went over the side of his skull, sharp teeth turning flatter, eventually turning to a hinge.
Her face felt incredibly hot. Over a simple kiss? It almost felt a bit pathetic, but as she saw those sharp predatory eyes from a wolf skull stare at her with nothing but pure compassion it felt like the normal she had learnt to love.
It didn't matter how, certainly not why. She just wanted to kiss her husband, just like the normal couple they were.
They'd figured out and overcome much worse things than this.
A hand almost the size of her thigh on the back of her head, they a mere hair away from touching where she wanted.
She could feel his breath, its heat.
She had one hand along the top of his skull, near his eye. Another underneath at the top of his thick throat.
Her lips parted, placing them over his front teeth, her tongue pushing against them.
It was notably awkward for her, she didn't exactly know what she was supposed to do.
She understood "Elias" but not always "How To Elias".
For a moment she felt almost disappointed, but that changed as Elias started to open his mouth.
Her tongue along the rim of his teeth, her upper lips no longer reaching his upper teeth. Elias tilted his head by quite a bit and finally pushed his tongue against and between her lips.
It wasn't the most clean, but it was a proper kiss, and she felt happy over that fact.
She assumed it was over, but as she started backing off the hand on the back of her hand held her firmly in place. She felt his tongue press deeper into her mouth.
Oh?
His teeth were moving forward, nibbling at her lips and the very edge of her cheeks as part of her face went into the most front part of his maw.
The tongue in her mouth was moving about wildly, filling up any space it found.
She felt her core quiver.
As his grip started to loosen, and tongue started to withdraw, she didn't want that.
With surprising force Chise pushed against Elias, keeping his tongue in her mouth. Not noticing until after how his teeth were now scraping almost at her temples.
Maybe this wasn't how normal couples kissed.
Not that either of them minded.
When she felt like she had her fill, however deep, she pulled back. Her cheeks wet with his saliva, her forehead building a sweat. She was breathing heavily. Very heavy for just a kiss.
Elias curled his head and neck over her back in a loving embrace, Chise holding her arms around him. This wasn't a confusing new feeling for either of them. It felt so right.
The cursed child in a house of love. A person who will look after her.
An emotionless monster that's been taught how to kiss. Something so trivial and human.
That rumbling and aching in her core could wait. She suspected Elias felt something similar.
They had time.
As they split, she felt him grab something from the table.
A napkin. He started to dry her cheeks.
"Sorry." He said, despite it being her who went too far on instinct.
"No sorry's. We can only get better with practice right?" She told him and smiled warmly once more.
"Ah. Yes. We shall practice this more." He stated, his deep voice managing a tease.
She laughed heartily "Good, I like the idea of that."
A kiss is something so simple, but with the right person it can hold all the meaning someones heart could muster.
The Thorn had found his Robin, their physicality could only grow when it has started.
They knew that.
But they had planned for an eternity together. There was no rush.
All the love between two people.
From just one kiss.
