Chapter Text
It was bright and early morning in the summer after the school year. The tired, sleep-addled students of Class 1-A trudged their way out of their rooms and downstairs to get an early start to their day. Heroes-in-training could not slack off, even if it’s summer!
It was a quiet, serene morning until--
“Hey guys!” Mina called out loudly, gleefully waving around a small, rectangular box, “Who’s care package is this?” The few students who were hanging around in the common room in boredom perked up.
“I didn’t expect anything today, ribbit,” Tsuyu said, a finger on her chin as she curiously analyzed the unassuming cardboard box from her place on the couch.
“Yeah, me neither,” Kirishima piped up, shark-toothed smile present on his face.
“I suggest we wait until everyone else is awake before we do anything about it,” Momo suggested softly, eying the cardboard box like it was something delicate, “Who knows what's in there and who’s it is.”
Mina nodded rather hyperactively, putting down the cardboard box none too softly to the ground, “Sure thing, Momo!” Mina said, “Though, I can’t help but be curious…”
*~Time skip~*
“So… who’s is it?” Mina screeched, causing some of the students to wince as their sleep-addled brain processed the loud noise.
“It’s too early in the morning for this,” Kaminari groaned, head almost in his ricebowl.
“It seems to me that no one is claiming the package,” Iida said, hands chopping almost subconsciously towards the direction of the boring cardboard box.
“Well, in that case…” Mina said gleefully, bounding over to the cardboard box, “I’ll claim it!”
“Wai--” Iida said, alarmed, before a big rip sounded through the room.
“Huh? It’s a CD,” Mina said, holding the lone, glinting CD close to her face to inspect it.
“Wait! Isn’t there a place to put a CD near the TV?” Sero said, grinning and jerking his head towards said TV. Mina grinned right back, running over to the CD player and forcefully putting the CD in place. Turning on the TV, there was only a minute of silence before--
WOOSH
“What the--” Someone-- probably Oijiro-- exclaimed, a blinding flash of light before the U.A teachers and the rest of 1-A crashed down in a heap near the front door.
Loud, static-like noises came from the TV and the students looked over in alarm while the teachers detangled themselves from the groaning mass of bodies and looked around cautiously.
“So it appears my gift has arrived!” A smooth baritone drawled, hidden laughter behind the voice, “Hello 1-A and U.A!”
“Tch, what the fuck happened,” Bakugo growled from the floor, glaring first at the dark screen of the TV before glaring at everyone else in the room.
No one had a chance to reply before the voice started speaking again, “Enjoy the show, ladies and gents. You cannot leave the common room until it is finished and you definitely cannot stop it,” A chilling, high-pitched laughter echoed around the silent room before the TV started sparking, “Prepare yourselves! It’ll start in five minutes!”
“The villain wasn’t lying,” Aizawa intoned, jiggling the front door, “We’re stuck,”
“The stairway is also completely blocked,” Midoriya said, aiming another hard smash at the metal blockade at the stairs, “What is this stuff?” The question led to Midoriya staring intently at the metal as he descended into quiet mumbles, his eyebrows furrowed in concentration before he shook his head, heading over to the TV, “More importantly, who was this and why did they do this? How did they do this?”
“It seems they wanted to target us and the U.A. staff,” Todoroki said, eying the TV with slightly narrowed eyes, “But for what? We’d have to find out when the show starts…”
“But in that case, maybe the content in the show could be something damaging to us or the teachers,” Midoriya said, eyebrows furrowed.
Todoroki nodded, eyebrows also furrowed, “Can we contact someone outside of here?” Todoroki said, and the duo looked to the teachers.
“We can at least try,” Midnight said resolutely, taking her phone out of nowhere and beginning to call.
“Yes, that would be best,” Nezu replied, settling himself in Aizawa’s scarf because he didn’t exactly have a phone. After a couple minutes, there was a frustrated huff.
“I can’t contact anyone,” Ectoplasm said, his echoey voice gathering the attention of a few frustrated students who also took their phones out.
“Ooh~ Lookie here! The show is about to start!” The smooth voice called out suddenly from the TV, startling people enough for a few of them to start.
“Well, let’s see how this goes,” Midoriya muttered to himself, worried, readying his fighting stance and activating 5% of One For All. A few others were also on guard.
The TV stopped crackling and the dark screen of the TV faded out to a soft frame of a grey building, sunlight filtering through the trees, adding to the serene effect.
“That’s an oddly nice view,” Oijiro said, an eyebrow raised incredulously.
The frame then switched to a little Midoriya trembling and on the verge of tears, “Why are you being so mean?” Mini-Midoriya said, his high voice tense and slightly shaking.
An explosion.
“HAH?!”
