The last thing he wanted to hear was a complaint—
And yet.
"This is the fifth house we're searching. Are you sure they went this way?"
Pavel tosses a squinty-eyed glare Violet's way.
"You don't have to come along, you know."
"Oh, please. You can't possibly be implying that I don't belong at your side."
Pavel huffs, slightly red-cheeked.
"Whatever. Let's get this cleaned up as quick as possible."
"Dear Pavel, avoiding the truth! Answer me!"
"You didn't even ask a question," he grumbles. Violet sidles beside him with a wide grin.
"Oh, I didn't? Allow me to rephrase, then: Can you imagine your life without me?"
Pavel continues walking, faster, which forces Violet and his long ass legs to follow along. Regrettably, the purple haired noble didn't have a problem keeping up with him, considering that each two steps he took could be made up with a single long stride from him. They keep their paces even, walking side by side.
"You wound me, Pavel. Picture even one mission without my genius ideas to accompany you—"
"Wouldn't wanna," Pavel interjects.
Violet pauses, stares at him, to which the dark haired raider scratches his cheek.
"Do I really need to spell it out for you? You're basically my right hand, okay? Don't go spewing stuff like that."
Violet blinks— he's stoked, clearly, but all that can come out of him is an eruption of a smile, hands grabbing his arms.
"Aaaawwwww—"
"You keep that up and we're gonna get caught," Pavel grumbles. He runs faster, deliberately so that keeps Violet from seeing his reddening face. He can, however, see the tips of his ears turn carmine. Violet grins to himself, catching up to his partner and gripping his hand while he's close enough, to which Pavel responds by clasping his hand around his own.
