Work Text:
Quiet days like these were amazing. He leaned against Klavier’s back as they both sat in his bed. They were just hanging out on this chill, rainy day, doing little more than enjoying each other’s company.
For courtesy reasons, the volume of the game he was playing was turned entirely off.
Well courtesy, and it was also nice to listen to the soundtrack that his lovely boyfriend was providing him with. It almost never matched the tone of the game he was playing, but not freaking out when he was playing might’ve made him play a little better.
For as often as he played these games, you’d think he’d be at least okay at them, but you’d be surprised. Not freaking out as much when he was ambushed definitely made defending himself so much easier.
It was either that, or it was the power of love that made Apollo all the stronger. But Klavier wasn’t really paying much attention to him right now, so it was more likely the first one.
Probably wouldn’t change the fact that he would tell Klavier later about how his love made him strong. It was sappy and cheesy, and the exact kind of thing he loved to tell his boyfriend.
And maybe save it for a more public venue. Apollo loved bragging about his boyfriend, who when bragged about remained his boyfriend because then people never gave the reaction he wanted, which was jealousy and amazement at how Apollo landed such a catch
The odd time Apollo fucked up and did use his name, he was greeted only by doubt and him being brushed off as a rabbid Gavinner’s fan.
Which he wasn’t. He was just very in love with his very smart and talented and kind and hot boyfriend. The fact he was a celebrity only served to hinder him and his need to brag about his boyfriend.
Plus Apollo just wasn’t a Gavinner’s fan. He wasn’t the demographic because he was a 23 year old man, not a 15 year old girl. Liking his music wasn’t a prerequisite to knowing his boyfriend was an extremely talented man. There was tangible proof of at least his music.
“Liebling, what exactly are you planning?” Klavier asked, his music never faltering even the briefest moment as he did.
Further proof of his talent.
“You don’t know I’m planning anything…”
“You stopped playing your game. You only do that when you’re thinking of something.” Klavier correctly assessed.
Maybe he would look into getting a quieter controller. “ Maybe I just forgot where I was going in my game because I got attacked. You don’t know.”
“You swear under your breath when that happens. So I can assume you thought of something good.” Klavier continued. He knew him so well it was annoying. “And the fact that you got defensive is proof enough that it involves me.”
This was the biggest downside to dating a smart man. A very smart man. “You don’t know that.”
“Are you planning on bragging about me to strangers again, Liebling?”
Surely he hadn’t done it so many times that Klavier could accurately predict when he was going to do something like that. Because he didn’t brag that much… Only when it was important to share…
“Liebling…”
He leans his head back to give him puppy dog eyes. Because he does need something, and this is the best way to do it. “But your love makes me strong and better at video games…”
Klavier shook his head. “ Mien gott … You are the biggest dork I know.”
“But your love makes me strong .” It was working. “And everyone should know.”
“Are we not allowed to keep our own secrets? I’m not your badge. ”
“No, you’re my Rockstar… ” He was going to have to try a new approach, which is to put down his game and turn so he can rest his head on his shoulder. “And what’s wrong with showing you off to the world?”
His new tactic did get a bit of a grin from him. “Is this why you got a boyfriend? To brag? You wound me, Herr Forehead. To think I thought I was more than something to make people jealous.”
“But you are… And everyone needs to know about Apollo Justice’s very sweet, smart, caring, hard working, kind, and hot boyfriend.”
“And what if you don’t tell them?”
“I’ll probably die from loving my boyfriend too much.”
He really hopes that Klavier didn’t think he could get away with that eye roll. Because Apollo saw it. “What happened to my love making you strong, Liebling? Perhaps the defense is making wild claims again?” The grin, now having fully evolved into a smirk. Probably because he thought he had a point, but he didn’t.
“Don’t question the tried and true method of making wild claims. It’s needed when wild circumstances arise.” Like every goddamn case Apollo took. “And you’re not accounting for the fact that your love making me strong also makes me love you more .”
“Ah, so by making you stronger , I’m also weakening you.”
“A double-edged sword.”
“And yet you continue to date someone as dangerous as me.” He shook his head. “That’s truly reckless behaviour, Schatzi.”
“If either of us is the bad boy, it’s me .”
Klavier scoffed. “Do enlighten me. How do you think you’re the bad boy in the relationship, Liebling?”
“Well all of your songs that I’ve heard have been about laws and following them, and I sneak onto crime scenes and also in high school I used to skip gym with my friend all the time.”
Gym is by far the easiest class to skip. Gym teachers are by far the least emotionally invested of any kind of teacher and will not look for you if you “go and grab something from the change room”. Especially if you were the dweeby kid with no sports potential.
Apollo’s very well thought out points that solidified the fact that he was in fact the bad boy between them, only seemed to make Klavier laugh.
Not the intention, but he’d allow it. Klavier was dealing with the fact that he was dating a bad boy in his own way. That’s obviously what this was.
“I suppose you’re right, Schatzi. Though I wish I would’ve known when we started dating. I can’t believe you’d hide it this whole time.”
“Is that not what a bad boy would do?” His case was solid. Klavier couldn’t argue his way out of this one.
“I suppose you’re right.” He shakes his head. “What ever am I to do. I’m woefully unprepared to date a bad boy.”
“Let me brag about my wonderful in every way boyfriend and also maybe give me a kiss?”
“I suppose I must . I wouldn’t want you to skip out on any more gym classes, Liebling.”
This hadn’t been what Apollo had thought his afternoon would be. But he’d gladly take his reward.
“And I believe you just died in your game, Schatzi.”
“Oh goddamn it. ”
