As Richie wakes up on the morning of his birthday, he thinks back to all the past celebrations he's had over the yers, from all the great memories he had with his friends back in Derry, to the messy and painful nights of his L.A. birthdays, a time filled with so much loneliness and pain he can hardly bare to think about it. But for the first time in over 20 years, Richie is excited, because this year he'll finally be able to celebrate once again with his boyfriend and his best friends. The only problem is, none of them seemed to have remembered it's his birthday.
