Loud Love in the Quiet Dark by piecrust
MDZS“I know you are strong,” he says, murmuring his answer into Wei Ying’s hair to not disturb the quiet dark, “I know you are strong but I want you to be treated gently,” – by both Wangji and the world – “I think that must be love.”
“What about Wei Ying?” Wangji asks in return.
Wei Ying sighs into Wangji’s neck, sinking deeper into Wangji’s embrace. “It’s not as romantic as your answer,” he says, “but I went to Caiyi today and ate a clementine that was so sweet that I had to save it to share with you.”
Wei Ying had run into the jingshi, color high in his cheeks, eagerly pushing the fruit into Wangji’s mouth. It had been sweet.
“There’s not a good thing in this world that I want to experience without you,” Wei Ying says, “Is that enough? Do you feel loved?”
“Mn,” Wangji answers, feeling inexplicably warm. -
