Work Text:
“So...my mother wants to meet you two…” Izuku twiddled his thumbs nervously, glancing up from where he was seated in front of his boyfriends. They had a full day off, so he had decided that it would be the perfect time to bring the subject up. That way, they wouldn’t have to work through the stress of having such a thing dropped on them and they could spend more than 15 minutes talking about the details. Plus, it gave Izuku the chance to ask them to a picnic (in their own garden), which would hopefully create a peaceful atmosphere. “She...uh...kinda figured that...well, that things were...changing?”
Oh shoot, that sounded so cringey! She already knew that he was dating more than one person, but she didn’t know who those people were. Or the fact that they were paying for all of her examinations. Izuku didn’t want to lie to her by telling her that he had gotten a raise or something along those lines. Not only would she find that super suspicious, but he’d out himself before he got too far into the lie. If they met up, then maybe he could get everything out onto the table?
Eijirou swallowed the mouthful of meat he had just stuffed inside, making sure that it all went down smoothly before tilting his head. “You said that she knew you were dating, didn’t she?” If he remembered correctly, Izuku was quite relieved one afternoon after coming back from the hospital. At first, they had assumed it was because Inko had gotten another good report for her medical situation, but they were pleasantly surprised to learn that it was mostly because she received the news about their relationship well. There was little doubt in his mind that she didn’t know who they were. Well, who they really were. Depending on how much she’s been kept up to date, she might know their reputations or family names. Hopefully, that would be enough to keep her from prying too much. If it didn’t then there were always other ways.
Eijirou wanted to play nice. Truly, he did. This was Izuku’s mother, the only other living relative that he had that he gave a damn about and that gave a damn about him. There was no reason to let things get ugly.
“That would be nice.” Katsuki sounded a bit tired as he spoke, but Izuku didn’t think too much of it. He knew that the blonde was up late last night, allowing Eijirou to get to sleep earlier so that the redhead could cuddle with Izuku instead of leaving their angel all alone for two hours into the night. It was incredibly sweet and it made Izuku want to reach out and pull the blonde’s head into his lap. He could run his fingers through those soft spikes, petting softly so as to soothe Katsuki into a small nap. Alas, Katsuki wasn’t finished with his food and Izuku didn’t want him skipping out on lunch. It was difficult enough to get them to eat lunch on ‘normal’ business days since they were so busy. “Should we think of something to give her? Maybe some nice food other than the hospital crap?”
“O-oh!” Izuku was a bit astounded at how easy that was. He imagined that it would take a bit more to convince Katsuki, of all people, to willingly face his mother. The blonde’s relationship with his own mother was quite...unpleasant...and Izuku didn’t want to assume anything but he assumed that there would be some preferences as a result of that. From what he understood, Katsuki had the best relationship with his dad while his mother could burn in Hell for all he cared. Izuku didn’t want to delude himself into thinking that the parents of Yakuza leaders could be the most healthy parents, but he also didn’t want to fall into the stereotype that all criminal parents were super abusive. Whatever the case may be, he hoped that everything was alright now. “I’m sure she’d appreciate you coming to see her! She’s wanted to meet you for a while, but we could never line up schedules.”
“Nonsense, nonsense.” Eijirou waved his hand in a dismissive manner, his cheerful grin out on full blast. There was a playful twinkle in his eye if Izuku looked hard enough, but he figured that no harm could come out of it. Maybe he was excited too? Izuku did make a habit of telling them about his mother and his childhood when the appropriate times came up. It was a good way of getting to know each other and it kept Izuku sane through those moments where he doubted that he made the right choice. Talking about who his mother has been to him and how he wanted her to be happy as well propelled him through some of the toughest mental challenges he’s faced. Whether his boyfriends were thankful that he had that grounding as well was unknown. “This is your mother, sweetheart! We should make a good impression. Not to mention that we should thank her for birthing you, she practically gifted us our third boyfriend!”
Izuku blushed furiously at that, coughing a bit when Katsuki burst into a fit of chuckles. Well, when he looked at it that way he supposed it made sense. He had never known his mother to care too much for trinkets or any type of expensive things, so maybe Katsuki was onto something with the food. The last time he had visited, the hospital food was significantly better than he remembered, but probably still not good. It was ironic when he really thought about it, one would hope that a hospital (of all places) would have the most nutritious stuff on the menu for already ailing patients. There were some things about the world that Izuku would never understand, hospital food being one of them.
“Cookies are always nice.” Eijirou took a moment after speaking to eat some more meat off of his plate. His vegetables remained somewhat untouched and Izuku had a feeling that he and Katsuki would have to get a bit forceful. Very soon. Eijirou was ok about eating his veggies, but there were just those days that he was a bit of a brat about it. Izuku didn’t know what to blame, but he kinda wanted to blame Katuki (alongside Eijirou) for indulging the redhead’s need for meat with every dish. Breakfast, lung, dinner - all of it. “Then again, maybe sweets isn’t the best idea. She’s on a special diet for her next surgery, right?”
“Yeah. She can’t have anything with too much sugar or carbs, but stuff high in protein and leafy greens would be good.” The first thing that came to mind is something with chicken. Maybe a nice chicken soup? It was some pretty nice comfort food that could easily be eaten as long as they were given a stable surface to set the bowl down on. Oh, a spoon would be nice too and as long as there weren’t any large chunks, then the slices would be easy to eat. Izuku and Inko had mostly grown up on fish because it was considerably cheaper when they needed it, so that would need to be off the menu if they wanted to surprise her. Pork and beef might be filled with too much fat and...whatever...they were filled with. “Maybe chicken soup? You have a really good recipe for it.”
Izuku turned some puppy eyes towards Katsuki, who nodded his head with a gentle smile on his head. “I’ll make sure that the chicken pieces are small.” He set his own food down so he could open his arms. He gestured for Eijirou to get behind him as Izuku crawled forward, his adorable little bum swaying a bit as his hips moved from side to side. It was hard to tell if it was on purpose or not, but Katsuki appreciated it all the same. With both of his boyfriends caging him in a subtle bubble of safety, he let himself relax with a content sigh. “I’m guessing you want to meet our folks too?”
Izuku glanced up at the question, noticing how Eijirou had visibly tensed at the prospect. He always thought that he wouldn’t ever be prepared to meet his boyfriend's parents given who they were, but now that he thought about it, it didn’t sound too fair. He was forcing his boyfriends to go through the awkward meet-up, but he wouldn’t have to do the same? Even if they seemed excited about it, he felt like he was missing out on some of the more important parts of being together. If he didn’t allow himself to meet the rest of the family, then that was just being rude.
Well, unless Eijirou and Katsuki told him that they didn’t want him meeting them, of course.
“If you’re comfortable with it.” Izuku nuzzled into Katsuki’s clothed chest, smiling softly when he heard Eijirou sigh in relief. He didn’t hear much about the redhead’s parents, but he was a bit surprised to hear that he was the one to react to Izuku giving them the option. Then again, Katsuki has always been a bit more controlled with his reactions. So he could be celebrating internally and Izuku wouldn’t know. “Do you want to meet my mom first to ease into it?”
“That would be wise.” Katsuki wrapped one hand around Izuku’s shoulders so that the other could comfortably lay down more. He let himself rest back against Eijirou and started to plot how he’d get his father here without the hag tagging along. His father was reasonable and strong in his own right, but like the effect that Eijirou and Izuku had on Katsuki, Mitsuki had her ways of seducing her husband to her whims.
God-fucking-damnit.

“Izuku!” A smile nearly as bright as Izuku’s own greeted them as they entered the room. The walls of the room were the typical white and grey that was usually associated with the hospital ward, but along those walls were colorful pictures that were obviously done by a child. Katsuki and Eijirou could only assume that the child-drawings were from Izuku, who quickly approached his mother’s side so he could give her a hug. It was accompanied by a tender kiss to his forehead before the woman was pulling back so she could examine his face. Throughout the process, she kept her smile up. One could only assume that it was from how happy and healthy her baby boy continued to look. “My baby…”
“Mom.” Izuku leaned into her touch, his smile taking a bit longer to form. As much as he wanted to be happy that his mother and his boyfriends were finally meeting, he was also rightfully scared. They would hit his mother with a lot of new things today, he was worried that it would be too much. On the other hand, not getting everything else out today would likely cause some sort of awkward bad ending. They would leave with possible misconceptions or bad notes that could sour future visits. He wanted this to be perfect, but there were so many reasons that it could end horribly. “How have you been?”
“Not too bad, just a bit bored if I’m being honest.” A light laugh came from Inko before she leaned to the side. It gave her a good view of the two men hulking over her and her son. Quite good-looking, if she said so herself. Though, after today, hopefully she’d be able to confirm that their personalities would be just as beautiful as their physical appearance. She doubted that her son would allow himself to bind to someone who was truly monstrous or would place him in any danger, but they have gotten taken advantage of before. “Hello, gentlemen.”
“Ms. Midoriya.” Eijirou bowed his head, followed by Katsuki. In his hands, he clutched a bag full of magazines and books that Izuku had helped him pick out. Coincidentally, they had figured that entertainment would be a good way to start. They all knew that being in a hospital didn’t always warrant you the chance to go out and do things to quell your boredom. Stuff like reading or playing around on a device would be the only way to go. Since Inko would have to go through the trouble of relearning how to use the most modern phone, they decided that more traditional entertainment would be the most practical. “If I may, I have brought the cure to your boredom.”
He brought the bag forward and made sure that Inko had a good grip on it before releasing it to her care. She pulled out a few to examine what her options were and nodded her head in approval when she read the summaries on the back. Izuku had never known his mother to like a specific genre over the other, though that would mostly be blamed on the fact that she read what was presented to her. Even if she didn’t like it, it was better than doing nothing and being completely unproductive. The variety would offer her the chance to give them better input for the next time they visited with more reading material.
“Inko is fine, dear. The ‘Miss’ makes me feel old.” Izuku snorted in an adorable manner while Eijirou rushed to apologize for implicating the wrong idea. There was no need, when she thought about it (it’s not like he meant to make her feel old and she really didn’t), but she waited until Eijirou was done before smiling in a calming manner. A few waves of her hand assured that there was no offense taken for the show of politeness. “Thank you, Mr…?” Inko had recalled Izuku calling his lovers Eiji and Kats but he kinda forgot to tell her which one was which. He also rarely used their first names to begin with, but it was too cute that he had nicknames for them that she couldn’t call him out on it.
“Kirishima. Eijirou Kirishima.” He held out his hand for her to take, nearly pulling back when he felt how fragile her hands felt. He supposed that she hasn’t had the healthiest life, with the hospital crap she was being fed and the lack of exercise at least once a day. It felt like if he squeezed too hard, then he’d shatter some bones in her hands. And wouldn’t that just be the best first-meeting? Luckily, Inko was quick to turn her grasp firm first, which momentarily settled Eijirou’s fear of hurting her. “It’s nice to finally meet you face-to-face. Your son is very fond of telling us about his childhood.”
“I’m glad.” Inko could easily sense Eijirou’s hesitance about saying much and while it did make her a bit uncomfortable as a result, she could respect how he tried to remain cautious. This was their first meeting and they hadn’t had any sort of contact prior. It gave neither of them the chance to discover what safe zones were and how far they could push the conversation in a certain direction. She’d try to remain patient. “I’m glad to meet the two men who have made my son happy. I’ve noticed that he’s been well-supported financially as well. I don’t suppose you two have anything to do with that?”
Katsuki cleared his throat, seeing this as a nice chance to introduce himself into the conversation. Ink welcomed him with the same smile that she gave Eijirou, though it dropped to curiosity as he offered her a bag. It was clear that there was some sort of food inside based on the shape that the bag seemed to mold around. “Katsuki Bakugou.” He nodded his head, forgoing the typical handshake to keep a tight grip on his bag. Since the contents were hot, he didn’t want to take any chances. Sensing that, Eijirou pulled the side table around so that it was angled towards Inko, providing the perfect surface to place the bag on. For the first few moments that it sat on the table, Katsuki was worried that the table was too flimsy to really hold it.
“Don’t worry about it, dear. Trust me, it’s strong enough.” Inko laid an encouraging hand on Katsuki’s wrist, urging him to release the bag so she could see just what that had brought. It took a few moments, nervous glances being exchanged from the table to the bag, before Katsuki reluctantly dropped his grip and backed up. She smiled in thanks as she opened the box, gasping when she noticed that it had to be some type of soup. Opening the lid, the most delicious smell wafted into the room. She had recently eaten, but the scent alone made her hungry all over again. Oh, she must dig into this before it goes cold! “Izuku, dear, would you mind grabbing me a spoon? You can get a metal one from the kitchen staff, though you might have to ask the nurses to escort you.”
Izuku was quick to nod and scurry from the room, eager to get that spoon with the promise of his mother enjoying the meal Katsuki had prepared for her. What he couldn’t have thought of until it was too late was that Inko sent him out specifically because she wanted some time alone with his boyfriends. She had no reason to think ill of them yet, but she was still his mother.
“My son has not been this happy in a long time.” She started off slow so that no misunderstandings could come of it so soon. Eijirou and Katsuki remained by her side as she leaned back into her bed, expressions attentive and weary as she settled down. “I want to thank you for putting that smile back on his face. And, if it’s alright, I’d like to know more about you while we have this moment to ourselves.”
The way that Eijirou and Katsuki’s eyes widened brought some laughter out of Inko. She supposes that they couldn’t be blamed for the shock. She was well aware of what a shovel talk was and, to her understanding, that’s what most parents started off with. If she was being honest with herself, she did want to start off a bit harsher than what ended up coming out, but she couldn’t do it. The way that the two males - who could easily do her harm, especially while she was in a hospital bed - appeared nothing more than a couple of insecure kittens. They easily stood tall and powerful, though as they stood next to her bed, they hunched over a bit to tend to her. From what she felt of Eijirou’s hands and Katsuki’s wrist/forearm area, there was hidden strength packed in there that has been dulled down in a show of control.
They were trying. And, for that, she couldn’t remain harsh with them over her son. Izuku was her only offspring, the only family member that she would go to the ends of the Earth for. If he was hurt and she couldn’t prevent it, she didn’t know what she’d do with herself. Well, hurt any more than he already has been. She was well-aware that he had suffered some abuse at the hands of his ex-manager, a story she still needed to get.
Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately - depending on how one saw it), Katsuki decided to start with who he and Eijirou were. Specifically, how loaded they were. Inko couldn’t keep her reactions to herself as Katsuki explained his bar chain and Eijirou’s escort service. It was impressive to hear about, but it also explained so much. Like how Inko was suddenly getting all of the examinations and procedures she needed to recover so quickly when she knew that Izuku had previously been pushing himself too hard just to stay afloat himself. And how Izuku could afford to continue on with his life without stressing about the fact that he didn’t work anymore. Don’t get Inko wrong, she was relieved that he didn’t work anymore. So much of his childhood had been spent supporting her and himself, so this was a well-earned break.
The thing that bothered her most was how giving Katsuki and Eijirou seemed to be, though they were more than comfortable admitting that they loved spoiling Izuku because he didn’t ask for much in the first place. Knowing her baby, that made a lot of sense. While she couldn’t comprehend the logic behind their generosity fully, she could understand that maybe they felt like they were free to offer more since Izuku never asked. Once those gates opened, they never had the opportunity to close. It was complicated to think about, but judging by the way that Katsuki and Eijirou looked as they spoke about Izuku and the amount of love she could hear in each word, it was safe to assume that Izuku was never a charity case for them. They spoiled him because they wanted to, it was just convenient that he hadn’t been in such a position before, so they had a lot of freedom to do as they pleased.
“Don’t hurt him.” Is what the moment ended with. It was a miracle that she had gotten this far without Izuku walking back in, but she had a feeling she knew why it was taking so long. Her son was still anxious, even if he had gotten into a healthy relationship. Most likely, he had run into someone who was busy and was taking a while to approach them with his request. “He’s been through enough in his life. He didn’t deserve the baggage he has, so please, help him get rid of the burden that he continues to carry.”
She would have made them swear on their lives if they didn’t voluntarily do it before she could get more out.

When it came time for Izuku to meet Katsuki’s parents, the blonde had forbidden him from getting them gifts. He was very grouchy when he spoke of how picky they could get when it came to such things and while being practical would score Izuku some points, they were the type of parents who wouldn’t be happy with anything because they could easily buy it themselves. With how much irritation he spoke of them with, Izuku was a bit nervous that he was making Katsuki relive some childhood trauma by having them back here to meet up with. Eijirou was quick to reassure him that it was just Katsuki’s lack of proper connection with them. The Bakugou family was close and there was love within the family, but not in the way that most families were.
Izuku didn’t bother asking him to explain. It was clear that that sort of relationship was safer not having an explanation accompanying it.
When the day finally came, it was looking ok. “Thank fucking christ.” Katsuki pressed his hands together in a small prayer on his forehead, bowing slightly as he thanked whatever God or deity who was listening. When he had specifically requested that his father be the one to come meet up with him while the hag remained wherever they were staying, Katsuki had fully expected for his request to be denied. He had a plan should it happen - he was gonna hide Izuku away until Mitsui left - but for once, she didn’t fight Masaru too much on it. When the brunette man had arrived, a sad smile playing at his lips, he was quick to assure that he had managed to convince her to let him handle it.
He tried to claim that she had the best intentions if she were to accidentally scare Izuku, but Katsuki didn’t let him get too far. He could never be too cruel to his father, but his voice was the most venomous as it could get when he warned Masaru against letting Mitsuki do anything that could jeopardize his relationship. In his words: “that witch has fucked up my life in so many ways that I can forgive and move past, but if she messes with this then I will actually kill her. I’ll have her begging for a quick end before stringing her up by her innards for the whole group to see.”
It brought a frown to Masaru’s face - it was normal that Mitsuki and Katsuki fought but never had he threatened her life in that specific manner. Yet, no words came out to voice the level of his alarm and displeasure. He knew the feeling of possibly losing someone close to him. The fear, the hurt, the anger, and the need to destroy. The number of times that Mitsuki or Katsuki had almost not come back to him from a mission had his normal caring nature disappearing, where all he could think about was slaughtering all of those who threatened his family so they could be safe. Katsuki had inherited the combined nature of his mother and his father when it came to his protective instincts. He knew to keep the ones he cared for and who he trusted close. They were often in the most danger.
Point proven when Masaru actually met Izuku. Right away, he could tell that the little thing was terrified. Katsuki had mentioned that Izuku had a deep past with abuse, so he could imagine many scenarios where Mitsuki could unintentionally trigger some flashbacks and traumas associated with that time of his life. Katsuki trusted his father to be more sensitive about it and if had to give Izuku that fatherly talk about dating his son, then he wouldn’t send Izuku into a coma from being so scared. It really spoke to how much Katsuki trusted them. Or, the better term would be how much Katsuki distrusted them. Unlike Inko’s meeting, Katsuki refused to let Masaru spend a moment alone with Izuku. He and Eijirou stayed stuck to his sides like glue, with the redhead giving the smallest hint of apologetic glances towards Masaru from time to time.
It was hard to get anywhere, but Masaru still made it work. “I’m glad that you have enjoyed your time here, Izuku.” He smiled while sipping from his teacup, grateful when Izuku offered him a shaky nod back. The greenette had yet to initiate any sort of conversation, always waiting for Masaru to bring up something to discuss. If he really needed to, sometimes he would diverge the conversation to go into more detail about something related, but it always ended abruptly. One could say that it was the worst meeting with parents in history, but Masaru didn’t exactly expect much else. If anything, he could qualify it as polite. Maybe Izuku was still having some inner turmoil about what he could or couldn’t talk about. He certainly needed to spend the majority of the time calming down Katsuki when it was obvious that he was gonna get upset about something or other.
It had to be the most downcast family meets that Masaru had ever heard of. Even meeting Eijirou, Katsuki’s first partner, he was more confident in their abilities not to ‘fuck this up’ as he so kindly put it. No words could properly express how distant Masaru felt at Katsuki’s lack of compassion for his attempts to hold a nice conversation, but maybe he was justified in his suspicion. A lot of it was based on the fact that Masaru didn’t know where to start and kinda improvised as he went, but the other part was heavily thanks to Katsuki. He would growl or snap whenever a sensitive topic was brought up. Which, given the type of discussion they were having, was all of the time. It left a lot of tight edges to work around slowly, which only left room for more problems in the end.
Oh well.
At least his son had good perception, he caught Masaru before the older Bakugou could get very far with anything he deemed inappropriate for any sort of conversation.
“I-I know I d-didn't g-get to m-m-meet your w-wife, but I-I’m still g-g-glad to have m-met at l-least one of K-Katsuki’s parents.” Izuku cuddled into the blonde’s side when Katsuki grumbled, but the older male simply tightened his hold around him. It was cute to watch - how quick Izuku could calm Katsuki no matter how many times he got defensive. If Masaru was allowed to be so bold, he would insist that he and Izuku were quite alike. Masaru was normally the one to pull Mitsuki back from her moments and while Eijirou had been doing a pretty good job with what he has been doing, Masaru wasn’t blind to the times that the redhead fed into Katsuki’s temperament. Izuku had a submissive nature to him that allowed him to step back easier to analyze the situation. His lack of a ‘dark side’ also made it so that there was never a moment where he contributed to the need for destruction at the hands of pain and fear. His love for Katsuki and Eijirou would prevent him from keeping quiet if his lovers were ever going too far.
“I’m sure she would have loved to meet you.” Masaru set his teacup down lightly, afraid that a sound too high in volume would cause his agitated son to pull out his weapon. It wouldn’t the first time. Their last family reunion ended with Katsuki blowing out his paternal grandfather’s knee cap in the name of being done with the elder’s complaining. Or, voice, as he put it that night. “You picked a good one, Katsuki. Treat him well.”
Katsuki scoffed, as if silently saying that he didn’t even need to be told. Though, as Masaru was preparing to head out and return to Mitsuki’s side, he received the tightest hug he had ever gotten. Katsuki thanked him and somewhat apologized without words. His actions were always better understood, anyway. All the way from when he was just a baby.
Yet, Masaru knew he wouldn't have him any other way. Izuku was not a threat to his family and he appeared to be a sweet boy, if not shy and super anxious. As long as Katsuki and Eijirou were happy, then he was happy.
(He had snapped enough pictures in secret to satisfy Mitsuki’s aggravated curiosity for the time being.)

“Got it, thanks.” Eijirou ran a hand through his hair.
I’m so sorry, sweetie. I did want to come, but after this fight, I just don’t feel like I’d give your new love a good impression. Ya know? I’d like to meet him when I’m in the right mindset to be pleasant.
“Yeah, don’t worry about it, I get it.”
“I’ll try to free up my schedule as soon as possible so I can fly down there.”
“You can always video call or something? I’m sure it wouldn’t-”
Absolutely not! I’m not meeting my son’s second boyfriend over a video screen. This is too important to simply do over some technological device.
“Right, right, of course. Next time then?”
Of course, dear. I love you and know that I’ll always support the choices you make with your love life. Now, enough listening to this old woman. Until next time, Ei.
“Love you too. Bye.”
As Eijirou pocketed his phone, Katsuki tilted his head with a worried expression. Eijirou’s parents were supposed to be here about half an hour ago and now someone was calling to tell them that it needed to be done at a different time? Either an emergency came up (in which Katsuki would send back up) or someone needed to get shot for being so negligent of their promises. Eijirou had a better relationship with his parents (one of them, at least) but he could be convinced to stand down as Katsuki taught them a thing or two about punctuality. “What was that all about?”
“Dad’s being a bitch again.”
Ahhhhh, that’s not even something Katsuki’s considered. Though, when he really thought about it, he supposed he shouldn’t have been that surprised.
The patriarch of the Kirishima family had always had an open problem with his son’s bisexuality. Or, more accurately, he had a problem with the fact that Eijirou liked men as well as women. He was the classic type of homophobe where he tried to deny that gender had anything to do with it, but in the end, everyone could see through that poor excuse of a lie. It was hard to care about since A) this was the modern-ages not the olden times and B) the only person who was affected by it was him. Katsuki’s parents were mostly focused on Katsuki’s development and if Eijirou made his life a more positive experience, then great. Very few others in the group had a leg to stand on since they were either gay themselves, bi, pansexual, and so on. Very few people were straight because, let’s be honest, they were already on thin ice with society. It was important to enjoy those you knew you could trust, regardless of their gender.
Since Katsuki was the heir to the underground kingdom that Eijirou’s father survived in, he had no choice but to accept it. Unless, of course, he was eager to get gutted in front of everyone else and then hung like a trophy to demonstrate what happened to those who stepped out of line. Eijirou himself never found too much care about his father’s lack of support. He had his mother and his friends to support him. It sucked that the reason was so...ridiculous...but life would suck sometimes and one needed to learn to work around it.
“Why didn’t your mom just come by herself then?” Katsuki certainly had no problem insisting that only his father came. He knew that Eijirou had no problem calling out his old man on his bullshit, he’s done it many times without an ounce of regret once everything was said and done. So what was different about this? If he didn’t want to make a scene in front of Izuku as Katsuki had, then that ship had sailed. The greenette had been sitting in Katsuki’s lap ever since Eijirou had to abandon his place on the couch to take the phone call.
“She wanted to, but she also didn’t feel like giving Dad the last word.” His parents' relationship had always seemed to be hanging on by a thread, it was surprising to see that they hadn’t split by now. Whatever, they would sort out the shit that they needed to sort out on their own. They were adults too. Eijirou wouldn’t need to say anything unless his mother was ever in danger, but even at that point, she was likely to shoot his dad before Eijirou could get close. “They had a nasty fight about it and she didn’t want to come while she was in a bad mood. It worked out cause it also means that she can keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn’t do anything embarrassing.”
“It’s nice that she cares that much.” Izuku reached out, beckoning Eijirou to him with patient fingers. He had a hard time believing that Eijirou was completely unaffected by one of his parent’s flat out rejection of his preferences, but he wasn’t really in the wagon to talk. His mother had never been concerned with things like gender when she had other things that deserved her attention more. As long as her baby was safe and happy, she would be the most supportive she could be. Katsuki’s parents seemed to take the same example, even if Katsuki had made it clear that he didn’t want them involved if he could help it. Homophobia was something he was aware of, but hadn’t come into contact with on such a close-level.
“We’ll just reschedule.” Eijirou slipped into Izuku’s embrace, cushioning his head on Izuku’s flat tummy. His spike hair tickled his lover a bit when he moved around too much, but Izuku made no move to push him off. In fact, he held him there and fought through the tickling sensation so he could start massaging Eijirou’s scalp in a way that he knew his larger lover liked. There was no particular reason for it, as Eijirou was only a bit annoyed from the call as opposed to being full-on angry. Izuku just didn’t like it when either of his lovers were unhappy in any way. “Probably for the best. I didn’t want him coming over here anyway, I didn’t trust him to keep his mouth shut.”
“Why was he invited again?” Katsuki sure as hell didn’t want him here either and he doubted Izuku would argue with them now that he knew more about his homophobic opinions.
“He wasn’t. He just insisted on coming since he wanted to check on me.” A roll of the eyes and a dry look was the perfect way to convey just how much Eijirou believed that. His father didn’t hate him or actively try to distance himself that much from his son when it was clear that Eijirou would never listen to him, but it was clear that he always had ulterior motives when he ever wanted to come over. The reason? Normally, Katsuki was with Eijirou whenever they had family meetings and the blonde loved to piss off Eijirou's father. He knew that acting lovey-dovey (which translated to make-out sessions and dirty talk in their language) would gross the guy out and more often than not, he was soon leaving with nothing to stand on when Katsuki asked him why it was such a problem that he was sowing his own boyfriend affection.
At this point, the older Kirishima knew that Katsuki would keep doing that to him. It wouldn’t stop and he didn’t want to have to sit through it, so trips for the sake of visiting Eijirou or checking up on him disappeared altogether within the first year or so of dating Katsuki. Again, the redhead had a hard time caring since he knew better than to waste time or effort on someone who wouldn’t change. He had plenty of support as it was, one person wasn’t gonna ruin that for him. Even if that person was his own father.
“Guess we have a free day then?” Izuku tried to lighten the mood, leaning more into Katsuki so he could get close to his ear. “Any idea on how we should spend it, Sir? ”
…
“What about you, Daddy? ”
…
Izuku had no one to blame but himself when he found himself (and the couch) flipped after being pounced on by his hungry lovers.
Life really was the best it could be for him, huh?
He had two gorgeous boyfriends who (even if they had their flaws) were beyond loving and attentive to his needs.
He had a supportive mother who would live to see her next decades, thanks to said boyfriends.
He had the assurance that people who mattered to Katsuki and Eijirou supported them.
What more could Izuku ask for?
