Work Text:
“Let go.”
“No.”
“I’m serious, let go you big lump.”
“I’m serious too or did you not see the weather outside just now?”
Kunikida looked out the window and frowned. Yeah, it didn’t look great from what he can see. “I can still make it back.”
“Sure.” Oda didn’t relent. “The kids are sleeping, it’s late and it’s cold. Just spend the night here and relax. How’s that sound?”
Honestly, Kunikida was torn. He wanted to stay but he had reports on his desk that needed to be done. Yes, a workaholic for sure. “I don’t know….”
“Please? Just one night?” Oda still had his arms around Kunikida. “I’ll even take you back to your place and help you with whatever work you left behind. So how about it?” He gave the other the sad puppy dog eyes as he looked up at the man.
Sighing through his nose after a few seconds of thought, Kunikida faintly smiled. “That’s so unfair…fine, I’ll stay for the night.” He moved to get back onto the couch. Once he was, he was pulled onto the other’s lap as the two got comfortable. “You’re something else, you know that?”
Oda hummed as he had his arms around the other once again and pulled him close. “You love me for it though.” He got a blanket from the back of the couch and draped it over them, keeping them warm and snug.
Rolling his eyes fondly, Kunikida snuggled against Oda. “I swear…ah, well this is okay too. I guess being here is way better than being out in the cold.” He yawned. “You made me this way…better take…responsibility….for it…”
He can tell that Kunikida needed to relax either way, and for once, he was glad for the terrible weather. He even hope it’ll last a bit longer. Yes, shoveling snow will be a pain but it was worth it if meant seeing his love’s face through the window, all snug and warm inside.

“Huh, I thought it would have been more snow than that.” Kunikida was leaning on the window sill as he was drinking some hot chocolate.
Oda was moving some slush that was snow with a broom. “Well, at least it’s over.” He shrugged. “Still feel like going to work?”
Kunikida pretended to think about it. “Nah, I suppose another day of relaxation won’t hurt me.” He snorted as he can practically see the sparkles in those man’s eyes. Yeah, Oda was something else.
And he couldn’t have it any other way.
