"hm," yoongi hummed as he read through the vaccination schedule again. "ggukie is slightly overdue for his mmr and chickenpox shot. i must have missed making an appointment for it."
"oh, it was supposed to be at eighteen months, isn't it?" seokjin asked as he played cham cham cham with jeongguk on his play mat. "it's only two months, it shouldn't be too bad. i'm sure the doctor will understand."
"yeah, i'll make the appointment now," yoongi said as he logged onto the online booking tool and made an appointment. "if you be good, i'll let you have an extra treat tomorrow."
"aren't i always good? what kind of treat will i get?" seokjin asked teasingly and yoongi rolled his eyes while jeongguk looked at the two in confusion.

the next day, yoongi and jeongguk made their way to the local clinic where jeongguk got his earlier shots. the clinic actually sent yoongi a text reminder to make an appointment for jeongguk's next shot, but he got it when he was really busy and forgot about it.
they went before lunch time as yoongi promised he'd take jeongguk to the local cafe for lunch and to get the brownie slice he liked. the fact that the staff at the cafe were smitten with him and would always give him a free mini cup of hot chocolate also helped.
the clinic was pretty empty since it was a weekday and still early in the morning so they didn't have to wait long to see the doctor.
"jeonggukie!" the receptionist greeted when she saw him. "you're here for your shot, right? we have a new nurse but she's great, so don't worry."
the two went to the pathology room when the nurse called for them and yoongi settled jeongguk on his lap while the nurse prepared the vaccine.
"oo," jeongguk mumbled when he saw the nurse return with a needle and the vaccines. he turned to bury his face in yoongi's chest, but stuck out his leg towards the nurse and the nurse laughed at that.
"is he afraid of needles?" the nurse asked as she took an alcohol wipe and cleaned the site of injection.
"not really. i think he learned it from me," yoongi said as he patted jeongguk's head. "i used to have to do blood tests quite regularly, and i don't mind the pain, but i don't like to see it being inserted so he doesn't either."
"well, he's doing a lot better than many others," the nurse said with a kind smile as she administered the shots quickly. "there you go, baby, all done! that wasn't so bad, was it?"
jeongguk turned around as the nurse put on a small band aid over the injection site and shook his head.
"do you want a candy?" the nurse asked as she showed jeongguk a small bowl with lollipops. she kept them handy for whenever she had to administer shots or do tests on little kids.
jeongguk stared at the bowl thoughtfully then turned towards yoongi. "ggu eat bonnie," he said. "no andy?"
"you can have the candy tomorrow, what do you think?"
"kay," jeongguk nodded happily as he picked out a strawberry lollipop and handed it to yoongi. "ankie."
"he's eating what?" the nurse asked curiously.
"ah, i promised him a brownie slice from the cafe next door if he's good," yoongi replied, bouncing jeongguk slightly, "and he knows he's only allowed one treat a day."
jeongguk hugged the nurse goodbye and they went to the cafe for lunch and dessert. when it was time for them to leave, jeongguk turned towards yoongi curiously.
"papa bad? no tweet?"
yoongi sighed in defeat and bought another brownie slice for seokjin, although he taxed it 50% by eating half of it first.
