Chapter Text
The park is a very quiet place in the evening. Everyone is at work and the students are at school, except when it’s a Saturday and the park is packed. The canines all wanted to go to the park and do their favorite sport fetch, everyone except for MIguno, he wanted to stay back and try coming up with a new song for their band the Leftovers. As the canines were leaving the room Durham turned to him and asked, “Migs, you sure you don’t want to come play fetch with us, even if you don’t want to play fetch, you can practice while you are at the park?”
Miguno smiled at him, “Yeah, I could, but I wouldn’t be able to concentrate with all of the noise and you guys are constantly arguing over who is going to throw the ball,” Durham’s ears went flat against his head.
“I just want to spend more time with my best friend. You barely play with us anymore, so please come with us just this once.” Durham started to make puppy dog eyes at Miguno.
It took all of Migs heart to deny this instead starting to talk again, “How about this, when I finish I’ll join you guys, I promise.”
“Durham Hurry up the train is leaving in twenty minutes and we can’t miss it!” screamed Jack.
“I’m holding you to that promise, Migs,” said Durham, “Just go have fun I’ll join you later.” replied Miguno.
And with that Durham slowly left the room and left for the train station. Miguno sat there sighed to himself and took his Guitar out of its case and started to slowly strum the Strings. “Peace and Quiet, Finally.” he whispered to himself, and started to come up with some ideas.
He took out a notebook from his bag and started to slowly come up with a name for the song, Mending Hearts, No, Mending Broken Hearts, Maybe, Howler, Ahhh.
…
Hours passed after deciding on Mending, as the name of the song he was going to write, but he couldn’t think of one word to start the song with. It took him almost an hour to figure out what the title of the song would be meaning it would take twice as long to come up with lyrics from the song. He sat there for a moment thinking then looked at the clock on the wall, five o, clock in the afternoon, he should probably go and try and meet up with his friends at the park. He slowly put his guitar inside of its case and started to pack his bag with some money and left out the door.
He slowly started to make his way towards the train station to get a weird sense that someone was watching him. He started to walk faster every so often taking a look still seeing nothing he finally made his way to the train. He climbed on hoping that the feeling would go away, and it did for the whole train ride, as soon as the train stopped at the station in the city and he left through the doors of the train the feeling came back at this point he was slightly shaking.
He turned around to see somebody in a hood following him, he started walking faster, and he could hear the figure behind him pick up speed as well. Miguno was terrified at this point he could see the park in the distance and started to sprint to the entrance, every once in a while looking behind to see the man running too.
As soon as he entered the park he looked behind him and didn’t see him anymore, he turned around and spotted his dorm mates about fifty feet in front of him. “Durham!” he screamed, getting the coyote’s attention. The coyote along with everyone else looked right at him. “Migs, you made it..” his expression went from happy to worried as he saw the look of fear in the Hyena's eyes, “What hap- Oh!” Durham was caught off guard when the Hyena tackled him to the ground in a hug, he could feel the Hyena shaking, and his wet nose nuzzling my neck. “Hey, it’s okay you're okay” Durham said slowly rubbing his hand up and down the Hyena’s back.
Suddenly all of room 701 surrounded them, and looked at them with confused expressions. “Hey, What happened Migs,” the hyena didn’t respond and kept his face buried in his Durham’s chest. “Guy’s could you give me and Mig’’s a moment alone please.” The coyote asked, everybody nodded their heads and walked away to continue playing.
“Now please tell me what’s wrong, Miguno.”
Miguno lifted his head to look at Durham, “I think someone was trying to kill me,”
“What!” screamed Durham.
…
After a few minutes Miguno got off of Durham and was sitting against a tree, “Who was trying to kill you?” asked Durham.
“I don’t know if he was trying to kill me, but I know he was stalking me all the way from Cherryton to the train station, and from when I got off the train and sprinted to the park.” he explained.
Durham looked over at their friends for a sec before turning back to Migs, “You wanna go back to the room, or do you want to continue playing with guys?”
Migumo thought about it for a second before deciding, “I kinda wanna go back to the dorm.” he replied.
Durham slowly rose up and screamed back at the guys, “Hey!” everyone stopped playing with the ball and turned to them, “Me and Migs are heading back to the dorm.”
And with that he pulled Miguno up from the ground and they started to walk back to room 701.
Migs was still visibly shaken up from the stalker, so Durham slowly put his arm around the other and Miguno visibly relaxed, “Don’t worry Migs if anyone tries to hurt you, I personally make sure that they never walk again. Okay.” said Durham in a caring tone.
“Thanks,” Miguno’s frown turned to a smile, and they continued their trek back to dorm of room 701.”
