You hadn’t taken a shower yet. You haven’t eaten anything. You didn’t even get dressed unless you’d count throwing a hoodie over the bra and pajama shorts you had slept in the night before. The only thing you had done was brush your teeth. So that was a victory in itself.
Nothing had set you off. Nothing bad had happened to dampen your mood. You just woke up like this sometimes, and that was okay.
Your feet started moving before you even knew where they were taking you. But somehow you weren’t surprised when you found yourself in front of Bakugo’s dorm room. You didn’t knock before you entered. He should be used to you coming in unannounced by now.
He didn’t flinch when you walked in and closed the door behind you. He didn't move from his spot on the bed. He didn’t put down the manga he was reading before you interrupted him. He didn’t even greet you. He just glanced in your direction as you awkwardly stood by his door.
“You look like shit,” he pointed out.
“I feel like shit,” you agreed.
“Did you sleep in that?”
You nodded.
“You know it’s almost 2, right?”
You nodded.
“Did you eat anything?”
You shook your head.
“Do you want me to make you something?”
You shook your head.
He sighed under his breath. He knew all too well how you felt, but you were way better at asking for help than he was. He shifted over a little, just enough to make room for you by his side.
“C’mere.”
You silently shuffled over to his bed and crawled on top of the covers with him. Bakugou let go of his manga and held it up with one hand so he could wrap his arm around you, pulling you closer to his side. He was warm. You rested your head against his shoulder and took a desperately needed deep breath. You peeked at what he was reading. It was a typical romance Shoujo manga, but you hadn’t seen this one before.
“What’s this one about?” You asked.
“This guy,” he motioned towards the panels, “and this chick went to middle school together. They were close but then he had to move away because his parents divorced.”
“That sucks.”
“Yeah, now they go to the same highschool. He completely moved on, but she still has a thing for him.”
“Ouch.”
“You’d like him though.”
“Why?”
“Because he’s a total dick.”
“You know me so well,” you joked and smiled to yourself as you rested your hand on his chest. You entertained your fingers by tracing the skull decal on his black t-shirt.
You could feel the tension in your shoulders start to slowly melt away the longer you stayed by his side. Bakugou’s shoulder was your favorite place to be. You were warm, comfortable, and safe. No where else in the world could compare. You pretended to read along with him, but you were more so just looking at the pictures as you tried to match your breathing with his.
He let you stay with him like this for the time being only because he knew you needed it right now. But it wasn’t before long that he started to remove his arm from around you and closed the manga. You whined in protest but he ignored it.
“Alright, I’m gonna make you something to eat while you take a shower. I promise you’ll feel better,” he ordered while he got up off the bed, leaving you behind.
“I’m not really hungry,” you argued.
“Yes you are, dumbass.”
