“You're not safe in the wild anymore, but I know that you don't wanna hurt them,” Amber says out of compassion, offering that Razor the wolf boy may have a home inside the walls of Mondstadt.
“...But I am not city human,” he looks into the distance. A feeling of unfamiliarity seeps in.
A feeling of not belonging anywhere in the world.
He isn’t a wolf, yet he isn't able to fit in with normal humans.
Then what is he?
He slightly flinches when a hand rests itself on his shoulder.
Turning to face its owner, he is met with soft golden eyes and a small, sincere smile.
“Don’t worry, neither am I.”
Thus, starts Razor's adventures as he joins his new lupical friend traversing around Teyvat.
He could have easily declined — he was about to decline — only to stop and think, what else would he do?
Wandering the lands of Wolvendom felt aimless if he isn't part of his wolf pack.
At least with the traveler, he would have something else to hold on.
Someone he could protect.
The days he spent with Lumine were never boring.
Quite the contrary, even, he had everything he could ever wish for. Three meals a day (ignoring Lumine's disturbed grimace at the sight of him sinking his teeth into raw meat), endless camps of monsters to storm, and a reliable friend who is always fun to play with.
The days he spent with her were amazing.
There were, of course, times when Lumine had to make a journey without Razor, certain ventures where she would prefer going alone.
She doesn't forget to make a pinky promise that she'll be back, but during those times when she was gone, Razor found himself at a loss.
He was back to the state of having no place to belong, no one to come home to.
He hated those times.
Lisa, who frequented the wolf-boy on occasion, would often notice the change in demeanor and couldn’t stop herself from asking.
“Razor, dear, is there something on your mind?” She would place a hand on her chin. “You seem… less enthusiastic than usual.”
In response, Razor would glance at the librarian with a look that reflects nothing but his own confusion, unable to answer right away.
“Lupical, gone. Razor misses.” He'd say as he picked up a nearby leaf by its stem. It reminds him of the traveler’s ability to manipulate wind, scattering the leaves surrounding her.
“Lupical… your wolf pack?” Lisa tried to discern the gloominess emitting from the boy.
Razor shook his head no. “Lupical from human. Lumine.”
Ah, right. He’s been adventuring with the traveler as of late, Lise reminds herself.
“I see.” She sighed, curiosity satisfied. “Don't worry, little one, she'll come back.”
She always does.
No matter how far nor how high up the mountains she had traveled, Lumine never forgets to pay the knights a visit whenever she has the chance.
Not to mention sparing enough time to help with requests from city residents. Truly a selfless knight, she is.
Unfortunately for Lisa, the few words of affirmation don’t do much to comfort the boy, as he sulks while hoping Lumine has a safe journey.
One of the times Lumine came back from a solo venture, Razor would pounce on her with his natural wolf-raised strength that she'd almost fall over.
"Yep, I'm back!" She'd manage to say between giggles.
"Looks like you missed me?"
Razor energetically nods, finally ready to spend his joyful days with her as per usual.
