Work Text:
Kanna’s First Poem (Her English Homework Really)
Teacher: “Ok class. For your homework I want you to make a poem. It doesn’t matter what it’s about or if it rhymes. I do however, want you to bring your poems so you can read them allowed to the class.”
All students: “Ok.”
Kanna and Saikawa walk home together.
“So Kanna, what are you going to write your poem about?”
“I’m not sure. I’ll ask Tohru or Miss Kobayashi for advise.”
“Oh ok. Do you mind if I w-write my poem about you?”
“No I don’t mind. You can write about me if you want. Besides-“
Kanna faces Saikawa and holds her hands.
“You’re my best friend.”
Saikawa: Her hands are so SOFT! “Aaaaaaaah!”
=============================
Kanna: “I’m home.”
Tohru: “Welcome back! How was school?”
Kanna: “It was fine. I need to write a poem for next class, but I don’t know what to write. What do you think lady Tohru?”
Tohru: “It’s so obvious Kanna. You should write about the destruction of this world and humans being forced to serve the dragons!”
Kanna: “Never mind. I’ll ask Miss Kobayashi.”
Tohru: “Awww! Why?!”
Kanna: “I’m not writing a poem about destruction for school.”
Tohru: “Hmph. Fine.”
Later that day.
Miss Kobayashi: “I’m home!”
Kanna/Tohru: “Welcome back!”
Kanna: “Miss Kobayashi? What should I write my poem about? It’s for school.”
Miss Kobayashi: “A poem for school. Hmmm... I think you should write about something you like.”
Kanna: “Ooooooh!”
The next day
Teacher: “Good morning class. Did you all bring your poems?”
All students: “Yes.”
“Very good. Now then, lets start with Kanna Kobayashi. Kanna? Can you please stand in front of the class?”
“Ok”
“What’s your poem called?”
“My favorite things.”
