in the end, she sat with me and quietly confessed

Summary:

You were quite naive to not think Gojo Satoru would see right through you. He knew from the start that it was going to happen, sooner or later. And it did. Two of his students and teammates fell in love. He didn't like it. And he knew from the start it was going to end badly. Well, did it?

Notes:

Hello! First, I would like to start by saying that English is not my first language so please do inform me of any mistakes I might make. Secondly, I haven't written fan fiction in so long so this might be a bit shitty lol. This is my first time writing a story like this so please do understand.

That's all I wanted to say! Enjoy reading :)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: this girl has fallen in love

Chapter Text

The first time they hold hands, it's an accident.

Almost.

The initial action, at least, is intentional. Megumi tugs at the crook of [name]'s elbow to usher her out of the building after Sukuna takes over Itadori's body. Seeing Sukuna ripping the arm out of the special grade curse that let out a terrifying shriek prompts a look of horrified fear on her face. But [name] doesn't budge, so Megumi's hands slide down the girl's arm as he makes a move for the door, their fingers ultimately catching. Megumi's momentum pulls [name] along behind him as he hurriedly leaves the building at the command Itadori gave right before Sukuna came out.

And then, once they're outside, rather than letting go of [name]'s hand, Megumi just... doesn't. Even if Gojo is standing right in front of them, about to enter the building they just ran out of.

Perhaps it's unintentional. Maybe he is just doing it to save [name]. Or perhaps it's just too convenient, too good an opportunity for him to pass on, that they can walk side by side, that he can revel the sensation of [name]'s fingers intertwined with his, without needing to make excuses to Gojo.

Although Gojo's eyes are covered with a blindfold, he sees it. He sees their intertwined fingers and blushy cheeks. To be honest he doesn't like it. He doesn't like it because he knows how this was going to end. His eyes linger on their fingers before hurrying past the two of them, entering the building.

Returning to Jujutsu Tech after the tiring mission, all four of them went into their rooms. As soon as [name] sat down on her bed there was a knock on her door.

Knock, knock

[name] let out a groan as she got up to open the door. Expecting to see one of her teammates standing outside her door, she was surprised as she saw her sensei standing there.

"We need to talk."

"About?"

Gojo walked right past the girl as he made his way towards her bed. Sitting down he grinned at her confused face before patting the spot next to him. Thinking something had happened [name] hurriedly walked towards the bed, right after closing the door.

As soon as [name]'s body hit the bed, the grin on Gojo's face wiped off. She could feel him fixing his hard glare on her through his blindfold. Anxiety rushed through her body as the air inside the room suddenly became heavy.

"Look, I saw the way you looked at Megumi and I'm telling you this for your good, but be careful of what you do. I know you think this is just a little innocent crush, but believe me, it's not." She could tell from the way Gojo's tone was getting serious that he was not joking.

"I-I don't have a crush on Megumi. We're just very close friends.."

"Yeah? Then what was that today huh? He just held your hand because he was trying to save you right? He had  to interwind his fingers with yours right?"

"I'm telling you right now to push all those feelings your little heart has aside. It is not going to end well."

"You are a smart girl. I know you are aware of what this can cause. The job we have is not easy. You never know what could happen or if you would stay alive. What will you do if Megumi dies? You're going to cry your whole life?" He finished coldly.

"He is not going to die..." [name] muttered quietly, playing with her fingers. She has been aware of everything her sensei just told her, but it is not easy to just stop loving someone just because a person tells you that. She can't control her emotions.

"[name]. What if you die? "

[name] stayed silent. She did not argue back.

Seeing her expression made Gojo feel bad for telling her all this, but he didn't want to lose his students because of some stupid teenage love. He would do anything and everything to stop their love from growing. He has to stop it.

With a pat on her head, Gojo left the room. He knew [name] was going to listen to him and take his warning seriously. She always did. She always listened to him. Even if she did not, he would find a way. All he knows is that he surely won't let it happen again
