Chapter 1: peter saves his class

Summary:

in which midtown students are abducted and peter has to save his class

Chapter Text

“Dude,” Ned nudged Peter’s shoulder. “You think we’ll see the Avengers there?” Peter mumbled something illegible as he stared out the bus window into the distance.

Peter’s homeroom class had won a field trip to Stark Industries and Peter was dreading it with every inch of his being. He knew the Avengers & co. would try to embarrass him the most they could and he could definitely wait.

The bus abruptly came to a stop. Peter’s mind popped out of the endless abyss it was in and he craned his head to see what was happening at the front. The bus driver was holding his hands up in the air as if he was getting arrested. He crinkled his eyebrows in confusion until he saw what the driver was looking at.

Figures in black clothing were pointing guns at the school bus. As they approached the bus doors, Peter touched the web-shooters on his wrists that his spider-sense had told him to bring, making sure they were on.

One person, who Peter assumed to be the leader, knocked on the bus doors and the bus driver rushed to open them. “Follow me or you die,” he said.

The high schoolers immediately stood up and exited the bus, one by one. They were escorted into white vans which started moving. Peter saw a few classmates texting and calling their families, tears dripping down their faces. A few minutes later, the van stopped and the high-schoolers were brought into a large and dark room. Their devices were confiscated by the people in black who then left the room and padlocked the door.

As soon as they were gone, Peter stood up and said, “I can get you guys out.”

Flash snorted, saying, “Yeah, right, Parker. I’ve seen you in gym — you’re so weak!” Peter raised an eyebrow and let out a breath, exasperated.

“I don’t care if you believe me or not,” he said. “My top priority is getting you guys out of here.” Peter rolled up his sleeves and threw a web onto the wall. It stuck, and Peter pulled with all his might.

“Wait…” Betty said. “Are you Spider-Man?” Peter ignored the question as he continued pulling until a large section of the wall broke and flew at full force toward Peter. He kicked it away and caught the ceiling as it started caving in.

“Not again,” he muttered. “Guys, get outside! I’ll hold this up!” The students rushed out through the hole in the wall. They had just gone when the people in black, who Peter had christened in his mind as Sith Lords, came back.

Peter sighed in exasperation — as only when he was involved in the situation would the bad guys come back at the last minute — and threw the roof at them. Without looking back, he jumped through the wall and found his classmates huddled under the shelter of a large tree shielding them from view (Peter heard them with his enhanced senses).

He led them to the white vans and squeezed everyone into one van. Abe took the wheel and Peter called Tony, transferring to him their location and requesting him to fly the Quinjet over to them.

As the students sat huddled in the van, Betty brought it up again: "Peter, are you Spider-Man?"

Peter sighed and said, "Yes, I am — but I would really appreciate it should you keep it a secret." He saw Flash's mouth open, moving, but unable to make a sound.

"Thanks," Flash finally managed. "For — for saving our lives, I mean." Peter smiled grimly and nodded in acknowledgment.

Soon enough, the Quinjet came and picked the high schoolers up. After finding out what had happened, Tony gave each and every "child," as he called them, NDAs to sign. "For legal purposes, of course. Not to mention Pepper would kick my butt and you children would post it onto your instant-gram, or whatever it is."

"Instagram," Peter corrected. Tony rolled his eyes but gave Peter a warm and long hug. Peter thought he heard Flash let out a high squeak at the sight.

Chapter 2: a visit from cloaky

Summary:

in which mister doctor visits peter's class

Chapter Text

"Move!" Peter heard an irritable voice ringing through the empty hallways of Midtown School for Science and Technology. "Yes, you, move! I do not have the time for you to bump into me!"

Peter and his classmates craned their necks curiously and looked through the open door leading into the hallway. Was that... Doctor Strange?

No sooner, Doctor Strange was dragged into the room, heels digging into the floor. His face was set into a scowl and his cloak was currently dragging him toward Peter.

Upon seeing him, Doctor Strange's expression turned soft. "Hey, Peter."

"Hi, Mister Doctor Strange Sir!" Peter waved enthusiastically at the man. "Hi Cloaky!"

The doctor raised an eyebrow but decided against questioning it. "Cloaky here wanted to meet you again so bad that he dragged me out of a conference with the Avengers." He glanced pointedly at the red cloak. It raised its corners in a shrug and flew off Doctor Strange and onto Peter.

"Good job Cloaky," he laughed slightly. "What did the Avengers say?" He directed the question to Doctor Strange.

"They said hi," said man replied sourly. "Didn't even care that my reputation could be soiled."

"No," Peter protested. "You're too orange and sparkly to have a soiled reputation!"

Doctor Strange sighed in exasperation and said, "C'mon, O Relic of Mine, it's time to go."

The cloak nodded, wrapped itself around the doctor and Peter, and flew out the window.

The class stared, having no idea how to digest the visit of a superhero and the kidnapping of a classmate.

Chapter Text

"So... y'all got this down?" Miss Yeats asked. With no responses, she passed out a thick packet. "Y'all are going to review this, and there may be a little surprise inside." She smirked evilly.

- at the Avengers tower bc I hate writing fillers -

Peter was in the common room of the Avengers tower, flipping through that little (huge) packet with information sources on Scandinavia from the old times (I'm sorry but I literally have no clue about what I'm writing right now). At the end of the packet, a slip of paper fell out.

It read, "You will be having a quiz on Norse mythology on Monday. Since this packet did not have any information on it, I'm not only testing your knowledge on the mythology but your research skills. You will have to find all this information on your own and come prepared for this quiz on Monday."

Peter slumped back on the cushy couch and said, "Sh*t. I don't know anything about Norse mythology. How am I supposed to pass this quiz?"

Thor and Loki immediately appeared in front of him, saying, "You called?"

Peter beamed and jumped up. "Mr Thor God of Thunder Sir! And Mr Loki God of Mischief! I have a test on Monday about Norse mythology that I have absolutely no clue about, so could you please help me?" He used his special puppy dog eyes for effect.

They were proved unnecessary as Thor immediately sat down on one side of Peter and Loki on the other, both beginning to speak at rapid paces, filling Peter in on every single bit of knowledge needed.

- time skip to Monday because I'm lazy -

- also this is after Peter finished the test bc why not -

- actually i have a million answers to that question ignore it -

"Wow, Peter," Miss Yeats gave Peter back his quiz. "I had no idea you knew all that stuff. I mean, I thought I was the only one who knew Loki died by Thanos' hand!"

"Well, Miss Yeats," Peter started, "first of all, Loki is a she today (because we all stan genderfluid loki). Also, she actually isn't dead. You know how the Avengers went back in time to get the infinity stones? They accidentally let Loki loose so she's still alive! And she helped me study for this quiz!"

Miss Yeats blinked once. Then blinked twice. "You know what, this is New York. I'm not going to question that."
