Summary:

What if Akira Kurusu and Goro Akechi were part of the Trigger Happy Havoc cast?

or;

A one-shot collection of an AU I thought up where THH is post-P5R and there's an extra trial between Chapter 3 and 4. Written as if you were reading text boxes within THH.

Notes:

A few things to note:

- I don't have the time/motivation to make this a full fic thus it will be written as if you were reading dialogue/text boxes from THH. I *might* add the occasional one-shot with full descs but it won't be often ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

- I might bend a few rules of the Metaverse (starting by as of The Tragedy the Metaverse is half-fused with the real world)! Apologies if there's any inconsistencies Dangan-lore-wise tho, I'm not that educated woops

- Akira and Goro's dedicated chapter happens between Celeste and Sakura's trials, aka Chapter 4, so here THH has 7 chapters instead of 6

- THH takes place post-P5R here <3

Chapter 1: Closing Argument (Chapter 4 Trial)

Chapter Text

ACT1

It all starts the night before: to make sure their plan would work, they would need to have one thing well up and running: the Metaverse app, a tool they used in previous years to go to a different version of reality. It took a while to test, but eventually they got it to work well inside a classroom, discovering that its use would disrupt the Monokuma cameras. 

ACT2

On the next day, Goro “lured” Akira inside a classroom to play chess, and they do, for a while, until Goro steals Akira’s gun from his pocket and shoots him. It was just like what had almost happened years ago- or at least, that’s what they wanted us to think: 

In our world, the gun really was just a fake, so while Goro aimed Akira activated the app, sending the Monokuma cameras into static. Once they were inside, Akira replaced himself with a fake the Metaverse had created and Goro’s gun became real, using it to shoot the copy. After that, Akira said his goodbyes and left to be found later, leaving Goro to finish the plan. 

ACT3

With his own phone, Goro came back to our world, bringing the dead fake with him and posed exactly like he was before he left, confusing Monokuma and making him think Goro had killed the real thing. When he was sure Monokuma had seen him, he started cleaning up: he put the gun on the fake’s hand, and took away the chessboard from beneath the copy’s head, all to make the scene mirror the Phantom Thieves’ arrest case. He cleaned up the board and put it back in place, leaving the cloth he used behind just to further make himself suspicious. He made his way out, and all that was left was to wait. 

ACT4

After a few hours, Hina found the body and the trial started later on. Thanks to the evidence he left behind and the motives he gave us, we discovered him, but we didn’t know he got just what he wanted: to become the blackened and face execution. 

ACT5

Right before leaving with Monokuma, he gave me his phone and a note, asking me to open it until after it was over. 

We watched as he died, all while we had no idea that their scheme was still in motion: the note said Akira Kurusu was still alive, and there was a way to rescue him. 

We rushed to the classroom and did just as the note said. We found Akira hidden away safe and sound, where we discovered this whole ordeal had been an effort between the two to get clues behind the mystery of this school.
