The first time David sees Twyla Sands pop up on Patrick’s phone, he’s a little confused. It happens when they’re getting ready to go out for a picnic.
“The Habs are going to crush your Leafs!” with a few sports emoji thrown in.
Twyla’s contact also has one of those sports emoji and a rose included.
He asks Patrick about it once they get to the park.
“Um. So, not that I was creeping on your phone, but I saw Twyla texted you, something about habs and leafs? Does she need something for the cafe?”
Patrick is barely able to hold back laughter when he answers “no, those are hockey teams. I was wearing a Leafs jersey once and she commented. She likes the Habs, they’re opposing teams. They’re also playing tonight and I said Twyla and Alexis could come over for a little friendly competition.”
“Uh. Alexis doesn’t know hockey. I don’t think she even knows what a puck looks like.”
“Fine,” Patrick smirked. “Then you and Alexis can watch me and Twyla watch the game. I hope it’s not going to be too painful for you.”
