Summary
"There is one story I could tell. It's the sort of story best suited to nights with a little chill in the wind." He paused then with a crooked little smile settled on his face as he gave his audience a moment to come to attention and let the atmosphere of the evening settle in as a guest. Crickets chirped, bland music drifted to them from a nearby shop, the loose end of a tarp fluttered in the breeze, and Ardyn told them a story.
On their journey to the Disk of Cauthess, five men stop to rest and, bound in each other's company, talk a little. Ardyn is a strange man with a fondness for old stories, poems, songs, and rhymes. With a little prompting, he shares a story about a Beast and a Soldier whose good intentions are corrupted by power.
