“Baekhyun.”
His name is said gently and with an accompanying nudge that’s light enough to make him think he imagined it. Blearily, Baekhyun blinks awake, lifting his head from Kyungsoo’s shoulder to look at the tv. The credits are rolling. It’s at the very end, the final logo fading out on screen. Kyungsoo must have waited before waking him up.
“It’s over?” Yawning, Baekhyun cuddles in the corner of the sofa as Kyungsoo gets up, wrapping his end of the blanket they were sharing around him before going to tidy the room. It’s a Friday night, the night they always reserve for movies, and that means snacks and junk food and a ton of stuff to clean afterwards.
Baekhyun watches Kyungsoo move about while leaning his head on the arm of the sofa. He could fall asleep again.
“It’s over,” Kyungsoo confirms, tossing out chip bags and empty cans. “You slept through half of it.”
“Sorry,” Baekhyun mumbles. He shuts his eyes again.
“It’s okay. I’m used to it by now.”
Hey, Baekhyun would say if he wasn’t too busy nodding off. It’s true anyway. He tries his best but he’s usually tired Friday nights, and with a warm blanket and lights off and Kyungsoo’s shoulder to lean on, it’s impossible not to fall asleep. Not that Kyungsoo really seems to mind. Most nights he seems content just being next to him, even when Baekhyun isn’t paying attention. Movie nights are more like cuddle nights in the end. Not that Baekhyun is complaining.
“Hey... are you asleep again?”
He isn’t fully asleep but he’s close enough to decide to ignore him. After a moment he hears Kyungsoo sigh, then feels him put a pillow under his head. Baekhyun scrunches his nose and lays fully on the couch, situating his head on the pillow with a satisfied sound. Like this he can definitely sleep. Already he’s beginning to feel the world fade away. Still, just before he dreams, he is awake enough to feel Kyungsoo gently press his lips to his temple and hear him whisper, “Good night.”
