~~Story Begins~~

Izuku Midoriya knows what he has to do whenever he gets sick. It took him awhile to convince his mother that he was better off being home alone when he was sick then having her or anyone else hovering nearby. He keeps a little fridge in his room filled with water bottles and generic lemon-lime sodas. Cold and sinus medicine sat on top of the little fridge and his Snipe alarm clock sat nearby with the alarm sat for every four hours. His laptop sitting on his desk provides a glow through the darkness of his room as an old video from a pre-quirl era website plays in the background.

Izuku found out that he quickly falls asleep when he has a stream of someone playing a pre-quirk horror game that he’s listened to before. It helps with his insomnia as well, but he prefers to listen to them without his earbuds. So, with a cold compress on the back of his neck, buried underneath his hero covers in a burrito, a playlist of old streams quered and playing on low in the background, Izuku sent a quick text to his mother letting he knew that he’s sick

He quickly fell asleep, unaware of all that will happen in a few hours.

With Izuku falling asleep, an underground hero was waking up due to the phone ringing. A calloused hand grabbed the offending object and held the object to his ear.

“Hizashi, I’m going to strangle you at your radio show if this is not an emergency,” he said in a very exhausted and angry voice.

“I’m sorry. It wasn’t my intention to wake you up, Aizawa-san,” a female voice said. “I’m also sorry if I don’t take your threat that seriously considering my own husband also makes tired threats like that.”

The voice was silent for a moment, giving Aizawa time to process that he did just threaten someone who was not a friend and more of a civilian.

“My son also makes threats when he’s sick and he’s more terrifying when sick. Thank kami, Izuku doesn’t get sick often because he can and will make his threats into a reality if given the chance.”

“Midoriya-san,” Aizawa said pinching his nose. “Please forgive me for my greeting. Is there something I can do to help you?”

“Oh. It’s not a problem,” she said. “Izuku, being such a devoted hero fan boy that he is, I knew you were possibly sleeping, but this was the best time to call you. Izuku is currently at home sick. He possibly won’t be in school until Tuesday. I hope it won’t be too much of a bother, but would it be possible for you to check up on him once a day. He’s not a really needy person.”

This is when Aizawa’s brain processed everything that he had said up to this point. Uh, you knew that the former Symbol of Peace also made empty death threats when tired. Who else would have thought the cinnamon bun of Class 1-A would be true to threats.

“That wouldn’t be an issue, but why not ask your husband for it?”

“He’s in America. I’m actually on my way to visit him for a month. Izuku’s actually paid for it. Our anniversary present since it has been years since we’ve been able to spend some time together. Everything just snowballed at once.”

Aizawa could sense there is a story behind that.

“Wait, All Might’s not your husband?” Aizawa said.

The sigh that escaped Inko Midoriya made it seem like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders.

“No, and the reason I’m calling is because Toshinori will only make things worse. When you check up on Izuku there are a few things you need to know. Refill the mini fridge with water and soda. Do not touch his laptop or cold compress. Do not touch the leftover katsudon.”

Aizawa was there when he saw the determination his ‘problem child’ had at the training camp after giving him Kota, he saw that determination in the Sports Festival many times, he experienced it first hand with the Hassaki Raid and Eri.
He felt that determination through the phone and a cold shiver run through his body at the next set rules or will see exactly where Izuku Midoriya got his determination from.

Maybe All Might being afraid of his favorite student’s mother might not be an illogical thing after all.

“You WILL fix yourself something healthy for supper and leave some for leftovers. You are welcome to use our kitchen and groceries. Also, if Izuku is watching you with glowing green eyes. Tell him exactly what you are doing. If his eyes are not glowing, but watching you, feel free to speak and ask questions. Do not make any sudden loud noises or else you will be on the receiving end of an Izuku threat. If his eyes are not glowing, but watching you, feel free to speak and ask questions. Do not make any sudden loud noises or else you will be on the receiving end of an Izuku threat.”

“That does seem simple enough. That -”

“Oh, they just called my plane, Aizawa-san. I will know if you do not bring my son leftovers and didn’t fix yourself something to eat. I will know.”

The call ended.

Aizawa laid back down on the bed with a groan. He’s starting to feel like Inko Midoriya might be one the scariest parents he has ever faced.

MHA

Aizawa stood in front of the Midoriya residence when he realized that he did not have a key to the place. He already glanced at all the obvious key hiding spots and even the more creative with the spot searching. He had no luck so he was waiting for someone that he never thought he would and ask for help.

“Aizawa-san, is there something I can -” Toshinori’s voice said through the phone.

“Where does Midoriya-san keep her spare keys?” Aizawa said.

“Inside her apartment? Her quirk makes it easy for her to reach them,” he said. “Uh, is Young Midoriya sick again?”

“Yes, and I need to get inside.”

Aizawa swore he heard the retired Symbol of Peace let out a gulp. He just wants to go inside, start supper, do the tasks, grade some papers while he waits for supper, then go on patrol.

“Wait, how does the Problem Child get inside if he loses his keys?” Aizawa said.

He’s watched that kid get so lost in his thoughts that he forgot the world even existed and get lost in U.A. It could easily be just as possible for him to forget something like his keys.

“Oh, he breaks in.”

“I’m sorry, but he breaks in?”

“Young Midoriya does know Underground hero tactics. He knows how to hack, parkour, blend into the shadows, eavesdropping on important conversations, good at throwing knives. Naturally, lockpicking is something in which he does his home and dorm room.”

“Breaking into my student’s home is not what I expected as well today.”

“Just be careful, depending on how sick Young Midoriya is will also determine how terrifying he can be.”

Aizawa sighed. “He can’t be that bad, but thanks for the warning.”

He ended the call and sighed again. “You really are a Problem Child.”

He quickly gets inside the apartment with a mental note about how easy it was to break in, he was going to address that. Seriously, did Midoriya-san just pick easilocks so her son could get in? No security system in place. He’ll pay for one because he’s sure his student would feel more at ease.

He sat his stuff down and allowed his eyes to roam around the clean apartment that seemed warm and homey. He noticed the cases of water and soda by the fridge with some dishes in the sink.

“Glad to know you’re eating,” Aizawa said softly. He turned his head towards the room that had an old All Might placard with his student’s name on it. “Let’s see how much supplies you have first.”

Aizawa walked towards the door and just as he placed a hand on the doorknob, a scream yelled from inside the room.

The scream wasn’t familiar, but years of being a Pro-Hero especially Underground, had screams ingrained as someone being in danger, also Midoriya being a danger magnet and his student instinct overtook logically and he forgot about the rules. Especially the couple of rules that Midoriya-san stressed over.

Do not make any loud noises.

Aizawa opened the bedroom door with a bang. His captured scarf poised to attack, but he saw flashing green and felt his back hit against the wall. A hand was squeezed around his neck, it wasn’t enough pressure to choke him, but enough to remind him that it's there, as glowing green eyes stared straight into black ones.

“You have three seconds to explain as to why you are inside my house,” Midoriya said. “If you don’t then I will figure out your quirk and I will exploit your weaknesses. In fact, you remind me of Erasure Head and I have so many theories over it.”

Aizawa felt his hair rise up as he activated his quirk because Midoriya was always imitated by him. The pressure around his neck tightened more.

“You really are Erasure Head, too bad your quirk won't be on me, because I’m quirkless,” a dark chuckle escaped his student’s lips. “Now, you had better start explaining or I'll see what happens when you use your quirk on a mirror. I might even hold your eyes open while you tried to blink. I won’t give you any eye drops because I want to see just how far I can push your quirk. Plus Ultra, right? That is also where you teach as well, isn’t it?”

“Problem Child, let go,” Aizawa said. “You are my students.”

“That’s rich. How would a quirkless student like myself get into U.A. Especially a Deku like me unless I really did take Kacchan’s advice.”

Midoriya’s eyes widened, but the intensity of the glare never left. “No, no, no. I wouldn’t do that to Mom. Explain why you are in my home now!”

“Your mom asked me to check up on you since you were sick. I was going to refill your mini fridge when I heard a scream. I slammed open the door because I thought you were in trouble. I don’t know how you fight when you aren’t feeling good and your safety does fall under my jurisdiction.”

Midoriya blinked and the glowing green eyes diminished as the grip loosened. “Where is Mom?” he asked.

“She mentioned visiting your father in America.”

Aizawa blinked as his student’s head dropped onto his chest, the heat of his fever soaking into his black uniform making the teacher hiss out as he felt the warmth. All of the energy had just vanished from his student and that terrified.

“That’s good. Maybe Dad could convince Mom to give up on me and they can start over. Or maybe they could finally talk about the miscarriage of my little sister and move on.”

Izuku had fallen asleep against Aizawa and all the homeroom teacher could think of was, `` What did I get myself into?

MHA

Aizawa decided that he would stay at the Midoriya residency because what other secrets of his Problem Child will he uncover? He has so witnessed people breaking into the residence and before they even get to look inside because they were too loud and overconfident.

“It would be an easy target. The kid is quirkless.”

“Deku is too much of a crybaby to fight back.”

“Is he still even alive? He wouldn’t mind if we just took his staff then.”

Everytime, Midoriya would pin them against the wall, his eyes a glowing green color in the dark, would name their quirk and the experiments he would want to test out to see just how their quirks would go before they were pushed past their limits.

Every single time, Midoriya would not use his quirk.

A few times at night, Aizawa would feel someone watching him and see those glowing green eyes staring at him. He would explain what he’s doing (Grading Kaminari’s heroics law essay, crossing out all of the cusses in Bakugou’s essays), and then the green eyes would just vanish into the darkness of the apartment.

Aizawa secretly wants to see how well Midoriya would do if he makes a lesson plan over imitation factors.

Tuesday morning arrived and Aizawa felt eyes staring at him as he groaned.

“Sensei? Why are you asleep on my couch?” Midoriya asked with a voice that sounded like was indeed getting over a cold.

“You were sick and your mother asked me to look after you.”

“And it required you to stay?”

“No,” Aizawa said and he opened his eyes to stare at the student. “The first night I checked up on you, I found out some interesting information that needs to be addressed.”

“Like?”

“Why did you keep saying that you were quirkless? Why did three high schoolers attempt to break into your home and why were they calling you by your hero name?”

Aizawa sat up and leveled his stare at Midoriya. “Why do you blame yourself for your father leaving and your mother’s miscarriage?”

The curious nature in Midoriya’s eyes faded into a shielded blank stare.

“We really should be heading to the U.A. I’ve already missed so much school,” Midoriya said.

A familiar captured scarf wrapped around the student’s waist.

“Nedzu has already been informed and agrees that one more day of rest for you wouldn’t hurt. I’ve agreed to keep an eye on you,” Aizawa said. “I do know a cat cafe where cats make everything better.”

The capture weapon released Midoriya as the teacher stood up and stretched.

“I’m also curious over how you know so many Underground tactics and why you felt like you needed to know them,” Aizawa said.
