Chapter Text

“Depa, we’re over here.” Waved Plo Koon noticing the woman exiting the elevator that led to the council corridor and doors. Beside him stood Obi-wan Kenobi and Kit Fisto. She joined the trio of male council members gathered off to the side of the room where the elevator was.

“So, we are doing this today then?” she asked them.

“Yes, I believe now would be the best time. I had talked to Shaak Ti this morning, she is ready to move forward as well.” Answered the Nautolan.

“Hopefully, we can withstand our biggest opponent on the issue.”

“It will be hard 900 years makes it difficult to accept hard found change.” Agreed, the Kel Dor.

“Master Yoda, withstanding we will need most of the council to side with us.” Spoke up Obi-wan stroking his beard. “Master Mundi will probably side with us, but it is not certain.”

“The truth is we are risking much bringing this up now while in war, but I feel as if doing this is what the force wants.” Noted Plo Koon.

“I agree.” Acceded Depa Billaba.

“Then shall we prepare?” gestured Kit Fisto, motioning to the corridor leading to the council chambers.

-_-_-_-_-_-

“Hopefully, we can keep it out of the separatist hands.” Concluded the Head of the Order. “We can only thank the force that you received very few casualties, Master Tiin.”

“Yes, but still many of the men sustained injuries, nothing my medics can’t handle, but I do believe I will require reinforcements.” Spoke up Master Tiin as his hologram flickered. “Despite retaking the planet, we believe that separatist forces are still present and our regrouping.

“Knight Skywalker, the closet to you.” Informed Yoda. “The 501st and him, will send to help, we will.”

“I’d greatly appreciate Master Yoda.” Thanked Saesee Tiin.

“If that matter is settled then, I think we have covered….” Started to say Mace Windu.

“A moment Master Windu.” Interrupted Plo Koon. “There is another matter we must speak of.”

“Of course.” Nodded Mace gesturing to his fellow council member.

“I wish to bring forth an issue that I and some of the others have been discussing recently.” Started Plo Koon. “It is most obvious that this war has changed us as an Order. I believe it is important to reevaluate certain aspects, more specifically our views on attachment.”

“I don’t see the issue.” Scoffed Oppo Rancisis.

“Times change, Master Rancisis.” Pipped up Depa. “Besides, as time has gone on, the rule of attachment has become too vague.”

“We have started to blur the lines between attachment and love itself in the most recent decades.” Added on Kit. “The definitions between the two are debatable at best, and it can be argued that love is not the same as attachment.”

“Attachment was not always defined as it is now. When looking at the concept and definitions of love, compassion, care, they don’t necessarily mean attachment.” Spoke Up Shaak Ti. Her hologram image shifted as she straightened her posture. “Yet somehow many have tangled Love and attachment together.”

“Are you saying we should change the attachment part of the code?” Asked Eeth Koth to those gathered. His projection quickly looking over his shoulder to something unseen to the others before focusing back.

“I think we should move to strike it and redefine it entirely.” Suggested Plo.

“Outrageous!” exclaimed Oppo Rancisis.

“It’s not outrageous. It is only updating attachment in the code to make it more clear and more lenient.” Argued Kit. “Change is part of life, and as times change, so must the code.” Before someone else could speak up, the head of the Order raised his hand, halting any more arguing from continuing.

“What is it that exactly is proposed?” he asked to those gathered.

“Some of us have come together, and we wish to rephase the attachment part of the code.” Spoke up Obi-wan. “As Shaak Ti said before, love and attachment are not the same things, yet we lost sight of that fact somewhere along the way. We have led to believe that we shouldn’t love and be in love with others. But love isn’t selfish. So, selfless love? Even Familial love? Why should we shun those?”

“The attachment part of the Code stands to prevent Jedi from falling. When you love someone, it makes you do things, anything to keep them safe. That brings desperation; love is putting one being above all in the galaxy. If that isn’t attachment, I don’t know what is.” Refuted Oppo Rancisis.

“But what if the attachment part of the code isn’t about feeling but of material possessions?” Argued Kit. “Don’t you see it has been so long since attachment became part of the code, we don’t even know what it is specifically talking about.” Obi-wan nodded in agreement.

“Yes, which is what is proposed, we need to reevaluate attachment of the code and redefine it.” Concluded Obi-wan. “We need to separate love from attachment.”

“This is a dangerous territory.” Spoke up Ki-Adi Mundi. “On one hand, we should be aware of the danger that Love could pose, but on the other, I feel as none of you would bring this forward unless you could prove that loving another is not dangerous.” He observed as his hologram quickly flickered.

“Of course, the most obvious example is the clones. The clones fought and died with us, we shared victories, losses, and they shed blood and mourned. How can we not feel something to them after all this.” Presented Plo. “How many of us here have left a clone behind or not go after them when in trouble? But if need be, we still let them go if it meant preserving the chance to protect the rest of the clones. Yes, it hurts and brings sadness, yet have any of us fallen from this?” The other council members besides Obi-wan, Depa, Kit, Shaak Ti looked at one another, considering the Kel Dor’s words. Depa immediately jumped in to piggyback on Plo Koon’s evidence.

“Let’s not forget padawanship. How can you not feel something for a person you take under your wing and raise?” Depa looks over each council member as she continued on. “We hold up our lineages and refer to others in our lineage as family, Grandmaster, padawan sibling, great padawan. We make them into familial love. Yet we know that sometimes we can’t save them, yet many don’t fall. In fact, we know that when a padawan loses their Masters before they become knights, they don’t fall. Doesn’t one of our own demonstrate that as he sits here as a fellow council member?”

“Demonstrate not that these things are generalizations of love you have. Only highlights how attached to things you have become—Master Koon with his clones and you Master Billaba with your padawan. Definite for your argument, is not on attachment. Attachment is the way to prevent becoming Sith it does. Clones are part of the galaxy, are they not?” Yoda said. Bristling at those who raised the issue. Obi-wan was not the only one who had directly snarled mentally at Yoda, concerning where the Code could shove its proscription on attachments. Obi-wan released his tension and frustration in the Force. It wasn’t over yet. This was the last resort because if this failed, Obi-wan wouldn’t have only dammed himself but would have brought misery to the others as well, subjecting the risk of being kicked from the Jedi Order. He gently prodded his bond with his former padawan.

Anakin, forgive me. I should have told you I knew. I’ll try not to spare you from this when I present this case, but I feel that if you knew why I was doing this, you approve. But if I fail, then you’ll know the truth for sure what might happen if you are discovered, and I hope that it would spare you so you may not endure the fear of being discovered and be able to choose what you want. Obi-wan felt confusion/worry/panic/anxiety flood the bond, and then he closed it off. If it came down to it, he would fight to allow his former padawan to remain a Jedi. But he will try to avoid dragging Anakin into this if he could. He already was granted permission from others to share, and the other one, well, his Master was dead, so what would be the risk for Qui-Gon.

“Being in love as well.” Obi-wan spoke up, and he saw how everyone snapped to look at him with attention. “Falling in love romantically, I mean. I have proof that being in love is no danger.” He took a deep breath. “I know how romantic love for someone does not interfere with being a Jedi and does not place them over innocents. I should know, after all, I’m in love with my Marshall commander.”

“Master Kenobi!” Scolded Yoda.

“Outrageous!” shouted Oppo Rancisis. “Master Windu, I ask that Master Kenobi be removed from this council at once.” Obi-wan held his breath.

“Master Rancisis, I will like to hear what Master Kenobi has to say on this matter.” Stated the head of the Order, eyes narrowed at the Thisspiasian in warning before looking to Obi-wan. Obi-wan immediately noticed that Mace’s eyes softened and seemed to hold support in their gaze.

“As I was saying, I fell in love with my Marshall Commander, I had planned to keep my feelings to myself, I would not pressure or force myself on him, after all, I’m well aware that has his superior that he might be pressured. What I didn’t count on was his feelings for me. After the battle with Maul on Florrum, my commander came to me when I returned and confessed his feelings for me. We got together, yet despite my love for him, I don’t put him above the galaxy. You can look over every mission, every battle. Yes, we both want to see the other live, but we would not sacrifice the safety and well-being of any troops or the galaxy to do so. I would let him go; yes, it would break my heart. Because neither of us could live with the consequences if we didn’t. We have a duty and a want to protect the galaxy. I know it’s not possible to fall from losing that because I saw it with my own eyes with my own Master.” Gasps met this revelation.

“Master Jinn?” Asked Stass Allie. Her hologram seemed to be at the edge of her seat, eyes wide. It was startling to remember that she was younger than her cousin Adi Gallia. She was still older than Obi-wan, but she still had that childish excitement when watching soap-holos, and right now, it was happening in the Jedi council. Of course, she’d be drawn in.

“Yes, My Master was in love with Master Tahl.” Obi-wan informed, and several members took in a sudden gasp. Melida/Daan and what had happened was not taken lightly. “Yes, and despite Master Tahl losing her sight after Melida/Daan, Qui-Gon still loved her. When she died, my Master was heartbroken. Yes, he was in deep grief, in pain, yet he didn’t fall. Did he? Despite the crushing loss, he still did what he had to do, and as much I wished he could bring her back, he didn’t.” Obi-wan looked over his fellow council members. “The Jedi who didn’t always follow what the council told him if he did it and did not fall how can we expect others not to as well. Before you think that these are only isolated to my lineage because I was his padawan, it is not.”

“Obi-wan is not the only one on this council to be in love and a relationship as well. Commander Colt and I have been tighter two years now.” Confessed Shaak Ti earing looks of shock by the others not already informed ahead of time.

“Knight Secura also gave me permission to share that she is together with her Marshall Commander, Commander Bly.” Added on Obi-wan, he internally winced as his bond with Anakin was forced open.

Master, why are you doing this? Anakin sent.

“Because me, Depa Billaba, Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, and Shaak Ti are in agreement that it is time to change the Code on attachment. Because I don’t want you to be in fear of no longer being allowed to be a Jedi because you love and married Senator Amidala. Obi-wan sent back. Don’t worry, I won’t tell them, Anakin.

Regret/Guilt/Worry/Relief flowed through the bond.

“These transgressions seem only to be with clones, those whose duty is to protect the galaxy and who understand their lives come after protecting the galaxy. I see no evidence that if it happened with someone, not a clone.” Argued Oppo Rancisis. “I see no actual fact that loving someone who is not Jedi or clone will not lead to falling.”

Obi-wan looked over those who they need to convince and became worried. Because it seemed Ki-Adi, Tiin, Koth, and Allie seemed to be seeing Master Rancisis point. Of course, Rancisis would see the clones that way; he never fought with the clones in this war, he didn’t understand the Clones were like every other being in the Galaxy the Jedi have been sworn to protect.

Master, tell them about Padmé and me. Anakin sent through the bond.

Anakin, if I do that, then if this fails, you might be expelled from the Jedi Order. Obi-wan sent back.

So could you, but you did it anyway. I didn’t know about you and Commander Cody. I didn’t tell you because I thought you wouldn’t understand and turn me in. But you're not just doing this for you, are you? You are doing this for me. Well, I’m doing this for you, tell them. Anakin sent back. Obi-wan felt conflicted, he didn’t want to risk Anakin being kicked out. But on the other, he knew if he didn’t, then Anakin would just declare itself to the council the soonest he could. Obi-wan sighed, defeated.

“My Padawan, married Senator Padmé Amidala after Geonosis.” Revealed Obi-wan and felt pure shock in the Force from those gathered. “Despite what has happened to the Senator, the danger she’s been put in, he hasn’t fallen desperate to save her.”

“I KNEW IT!” exploded Rancisis. “When Master Jinn brought that boy back, we said he shouldn’t become a Jedi.”

“Rancisis, do me a favor and shut up.” Snapped Mace, and Rancisis was left gapping at the head of the Order. “We have been brought much evidence on this matter. Perhaps it is time that we reevaluate the Code and its view on attachment.” Obi-wan felt his heart stop for a second. He quickly forced Anakin out and closed the bond. He ignored the pounding and nudging being sent to open it up again. “So we are going to put it to vote then. Master Koon, your vote?”

“I vote yes to reevaluate.” Plo voted proudly. Mace turned to Shaak Ti’s hologram next to Plo.

“Master Ti, your vote?”

“I vote yes to reevaluate.” She replied. Mace turned to Ki-Adi Mundi.

“Master Mundi, your vote?” the head of the Order asked.

“I feel like we shouldn’t rush such a thing attachment has long been a part of the code.” Replied Ki-Adi. “However long before that Jedi married and had families for centuries. It worked then, I see no reason why it wouldn’t work again. Perhaps this is what we need to give light in these dark times. There is much to discuss and to look over, but I see no reason to go against exploring this, I vote yes to reevaluate.” They convinced one of the others, they reached someone. Still, they needed two-thirds of the council to vote yes; they just needed eight votes. Mace turned to Koth next.

“Master Koth, your vote? Mace asked.

“While hearing about Master Kenobi, Master Skywalker, and learning about Master Jinn, I admit that I can see the reason to reevaluate the code.”

Master, come on, let me see?

No, Anakin.

Fine, let me knows what happens after. Obi-wan felt the bond close on both sides and focused on Master Koth.

“My Vote is no, however. In this time of war, we should not cause more upheaval than we already have caused by fighting this war.” Obi-wan deflated that was the first vote against them. A clone popped up in Koth’s projection handing him a datapad before disappearing. “Pardon the interruption. My captain was delivering the datapad for the requisition for both medical and food supplies for the mess, I had asked him to deliver it to me immediately when it was ready. Pardon the interruption. I would also add that no action be taken against those who admitted to being in a relationship.”

“Your suggestion is noted, Master Koth.” Nodded Mace before he turned to Kit. “Master Fisto, your vote?”

“I haven’t changed my stance; I vote yes to reevaluate.” The Nautolan stated. Mace turned then to Rancisis.

“Master Rancisis, what is your vote?” Asked Mace.

“No, of course.” He declared. “I also vote that I oppose Master Koth’s voted suggestion and vote that those who confessed be disciplined at once.” No one seemed to be surprised by Rancisis's vote for obvious reasons.

“Your suggestion is noted, Master Rancisis.” Huffed the head of the Order before turning his attention to his former padawan. “Master Billaba, your vote?”

“I vote yes to reevaluate.” Voted Depa. Mace turned to the next councilor.

“Master Tiin, your vote?”

“With the Force clouded this much, I feel the time is not right to undergo such change. I vote no, but I vote in agreement with Master Koth about no action being taken against those individuals who came forward at this time. But I do add on that those who have come forward be observed from now on.”

“Your additional vote on Master Koth’s suggestion is noted, as is your suggestion Master Tiin.” Mace turned to the youngest member of the council. “Master Kenobi, I’m going to guess your voting, yes, but I’ll ask anyway. Your vote?”

“Of course, it will be yes.  I would think my reveal would have made that clear.” Smirked Obi-wan earning several chuckles from the others.

“I guess I asked for it then.” Sighed Mace before he turned to Stass Allie. “Master Allie, your vote?”

“I lost my cousin to a member of the Sith, murdered by a force user who had fallen to the dark side. The Code prevents others from losing a family or friends like that. I vote yes to reevaluate.” Obi-wan turned to stare at her at the shocking 180 she took. “If we don’t, it just might cause someone to fall because they lock something up so tight to their chest, so scared they don’t even confide to those that they should trust in the Order. It could make them turn to others who could take advantage of it or worse, drive them mad.” Obi-wan fought to stuff down the hope trying to bloom as Mace turned to the council seat next to him.

“Master Yoda, your vote.” He asked.

“Made here today, very good points have. Debate this matter has always been. But debate for today it is not. Vote no, I do. Agree with Master Tiin I do, further no action taken. But speak with Skywalker we must.” Voiced Yoda tapping his walking stick against his chair. Obi-wan’s spirit dropped, and he noticed Plo Koon’s shoulder hunched. Mace meshed his fingers together, slightly leaning forward.

“I understand both sides of this, but we can’t just do away with the rules completely. There is a reason for the rules.” The Head of the Order looked over at each member, and Obi-wan felt frozen as if he were in carbonite. “However, that doesn’t mean the rules have to stay exactly as they have been. I acknowledge the risk, but I believe that we have taught the younglings well or, in Skywalker’s case, his Master. I see no reason not to try it out, especially now. There very intense shatter point focused on this decision, and I feel if I vote no, we will fall onto a darker path. So I vote yes to reevaluate.” To Obi-wan, it felt like time was frozen, eight votes yes and four votes no. They had two-thirds the vote. “Unless there is anything else, I think we can put this council session to a close. We will need to inform Skywalker to join you, Master Tiin. So if you please remain on call with us Master Tiin. As for You Master Koth, Master Ti, Master Mundi and Master Allie you may go if you wish.

“Of course, Master Windu may the force be with you all.” Signed off Koth followed by echoes of may the force be with you as the other council members disconnected the transmission.

“Now then let us get in contact with Skywalker.

-_-_-_-_-_-

Obi-wan walked down one of the corridors of the temple mindlessly trying to comprehend what had happened. Had they actually done it.

“General? General Kenobi.” Came a sharp voice and Obi-wan returned to his full senses quickly locating the source. He found the 212th head medic Helix with arms crossed, eyes narrowed a typical look when someone try to skip medical, Obi-wan prided himself he never earned that look often. His head medic knowing the trauma he had endured from the mad woman he encountered during padawanship. Helix even helped keep Obi-wan’s medical knowledge stayed up to date so the General can treat himself, the head medic taking over only when it was too serious that even Obi-wan couldn’t treat himself. Now Cody on the other hand, that was the look that Helix commonly gave the Marshall commander.

“Oh, hello Helix.” Greeted Obi-wan.

“General, what happened you were pale, vacant. What could have happened, you’re at the temple.” Helix lashed closing the gap between him and his General inspecting looking over for injury. It took Obi-wan a moment to catch up.

“I’m sorry to worry you Helix but I am unharmed.” Helix gave the Jedi an incredulous look. “It’s true, I just came from the council meeting. I’m still in shock over what happened.”

“What happened General I never seen you like this?” Asked Helix satisfied that Obi-wan indeed was not injured moving the Jedi General away from the middle of the corridor quickly finding a secluded spot nearby to sit and talk to the Jedi. “That is if I’m allowed to know.”

“Yes, well as you saw I myself was still processing what had happened. Myself and some of the other council members Master Koon, Master Billaba, Master Fisto and Master Ti, have been talking about this for a while but today we decided to bring it forth to the council. We went to have the attachment part of the Code be reevaluated and to have it specify that Jedi can have personal relationships. It passed, we had two-thirds of the votes.” Answered Obi-wan, it dawning on him as he told his head medic, the joy he felt bubbling inside him. “I told them about me and Commander Cody and it passed.” Gasped Obi-wan. “It passed.” He chocked out a laughter. “It passed.” Helix squeezed the Jedi’s shoulder to have the focus turned to him.

“That is amazing General.” Helix admitted his happiness so clear in the force. “If anyone deserves this it is you General. You and the Commander deserve this.”

“Thank you, Helix.” Thanked the Jedi. “I didn’t even tell Cody what I was planning.” Obi-wan faltered. “Helix, Cody might murder me.” Obi-wan realized, the commander would be horrified to learn Obi-wan would have confessed to the council, not knowing that if it would worked and if it hadn’t risking being expelled from the Jedi order. Cody knew what that entailed, it was something he never wanted to happen to Obi-wan.

“He might be angry in the beginning, General. But he won’t stay mad for long. The commander cares about you.” Comforted Helix.

“Your right, thank you Helix. I should comm Anakin, I promised to let him know what happened after he spied through our bond during the council meeting.” Organized Obi-wan.

“I was on my way back to the barracks then the Ship after, I’ll send the commander here tonight when I find him. He probably is either at the Barracks or back on the ship.” Helix said.

“Yes, thank you Helix that will be a big help.” Thanked Obi-wan.

“It’s no problem, now go comm General Skywalker.” Helix waved off as he sat up and walked off. The medic was never more grateful that he had gone to see the temple healers then now. His General deserved to be openly happy. He smiled as he heard the General greet General Skywalker before he was out of hearing range.

“Anakin….”

-_-_-_-_-_-

Obi-wan sat on the couch in his quarters, attempting to go over a requisition form he needed to sign off on, key word attempting. He was still turning over the events of the day and gearing up to telling his commander. Despite what he said to Helix, Obi-wan had no clue to how Cody would respond to hearing about Obi-wan revealing their relationship to the Council with no guarantee that he would have been disciplined or kicked from the Order. Not to mention that Obi-wan had even prepared a motion for him to remain General over the 212th, even if he was expelled from the Order. Perhaps he will not mention that tidbit to his commander, unless he knew for sure it wouldn’t flame Cody’s anger, no need to anger his commander anymore then he had to. Perhaps Cody would not be upset over Obi-wan telling the council but rather with the fact that he didn’t tell Cody of his plan with the other Council members.  There was also the matter of his comm with Anakin. What had started as telling his former padawan the good news had led to a disconcerting suspicion. He hadn’t informed Anakin of his concern as he didn’t want to cause another discord with his former padawan, not until he was absolutely sure. His wrist comm trilled drawing out the Jedi master of his thought. Setting it aside to think about later he lifted the Comm up as he answered.

“This is Kenobi.” He greeted.

“Master Kenobi, a Commander Cody is here to see you.” Informed the caller, probably on of guards they stationed at the temple main entrance door.

“Thank you for informing me, can you just let him in and send him to my quarters please?” Asked Obi-wan, he needed to steady himself and if he had to go fetch Cody there was no guarantee that things will go smoothly and it might possibly led to the conversation happening in the temple corridors. No, it be better for him to wait here and let Cody in when he arrived.  There was a quiet moment of no response, the sentry probably asking the Marshall Commander if he knew how to get to Obi-wan’s quarters on his own.

“As you wish Master Kenobi.” Finally came a reply.

“Thank you very much. May the Force be with you.” Thanked Obi-wan before he discontinued the transmission. It wasn’t very long until Obi-wan felt Cody’s force signature through the door. Standing up Obi-wan set aside the ignored data pad and made his way to the door, Cody had the code to open the door, but he might not use it. A solid knock came from the door and Obi-wan went to the panel and the door slid open. Cody stood on the other side wearing his comple armor sans helmet which he held at his side.

“General Kenobi.” Addressed Cody stoically and despite the lack of emotion in his tone, the commander was sending of warmth and love into the force making Obi-wan smile, knowing that his commander had lowered his shields so that Obi-wan could feel the warmth of the emotion that the clone wanted to give.

“Commander.” Obi-wan nodded in return. “Please come in.”

“Thank you, sir.” Replied Cody entering the Jedi’s quarters as Obi-wan has the door slide closed. As soon as the door had closed Obi-wan felt a grip on shoulders as he was whirled around, grinning he met his commander in heated kiss. When they finally parted their foreheads came together in a Keldabe kiss.

“Hello, my Cyar’ika.” Obi-wan said warmly. “I take it you missed me.”

“Always.” Replied Cody tilting his head to reclaim the Jedi’s lips in a gentler sweet kiss. Their lips melded together only parting to take a quick breath before recapturing the other again. When they finally separated, both were smiling as the Force surrounding them swirled with content, warmth and love. Obi-wan didn’t want this moment to end but he had to tell Cody what happened.

“Let’s move to the couch I have to tell you something.” Spoke Obi-wan and he was glad that Cody wasn’t force sensitive. Obi-wan was also glad that despite how much he wanted to let go that he had been careful that in preventing a Force bond from forming as Cody raised his eyebrow questioningly while radiating curiosity in the Force. He followed Obi-wan to the couch and quickly situated himself at the Jedi’s side once they were both seated. Cody quickly adjusted himself curling against Obi-wan almost sitting on the Jedi’s lap his head tucked against the Jedi’s shoulder.

Obi-wan couldn’t help but selflessly indulge in the closeness and loving position of having his

“What’s going on in your head?” Asked Cody.

“I am afraid I did something that you may not be happy with, dear.” Answered Obi-wan. Cody uncurled from Obi-wan and narrowed his eyes at the Jedi.

“What did you do?” Questioned Cody stiffly.

“I was in league with Shaak Ti, Plo Koon, Kit Fisto and Depa Billaba to confront the council on changing the views on attachment.” Confessed Obi-wan. “We been planning it for awhile now.”

“No.” Directed Cody. “I’m not asking what led up to it, or you deflecting what you actually did by revealing a basic secret.” He narrowed his eyes more at the Jedi. ‘Damn, Cody knew him too well.’ Internally cursed Obi-wan. Cody continued. “I’m asking what DID YOU do.”

“Perhaps its better you know the full circumstance surrounding it?” Suggested Obi-wan.

“What did YOU do?” Repeated Cody.

“I told the council about us.” Blurted out Obi-wan deciding to just get out there and explain after.

“YOU DID WHAT?!?!?!?!!?!?” Yelled Cody.

“Cody, cyare, let me explain.” Hurriedly stated Obi-wan not wanting to experience his Commander’s true anger. Cody being frustrated with him yes, exasperated yes. But truly angry, no. “Let me explain first then if you want to you can do whatever you want just please let me explain.” Begged Obi-wan. This is what he wanted to avoid, upsetting his cyare. Cody seemed to soften and brought a hand up to the Jedi’s cheek.

“Cyar’ika, I’m not angry at you. ni ceta, Obi-Wan. I just don’t want you to loose your family.”

“gar cuyi ner jorbe, an Ni linibar.” Smiled Obi-wan. “I’d give up being a Jedi in a heartbeat to be with you Cyare.”

“But you love being a Jedi.”

“Then its good I can Love you and be a Jedi.” Teased Obi-wan. “The Council has agreed to have the attachment part of the Code be reevaluated. More so to have it specify that Jedi can have personal relationships now.”
