Work Text:

Skeppy closes the door behind him with a lazy kick, sitting down on his bed and grinning to himself when he bounces slightly from the mattress.

"Nice place you have here," the girl says.

(What's her name again? After so long, it's been a while since he had to think about her name. This is, after all, the last time he ever saw her, and it's been months since this happened.)

"Thanks," Skeppy grins, gesturing for her to sit down next to him. When she does so, he wraps her arms around her shoulder. "I hope you enjoyed our day out? What did you think?"

The edge of her lips twitches up into a smile. "You know, it wasn't bad. I wouldn't mind doing that again."

"Really?" Skeppy raises a brow.

"Really."

The two sit there, and Skeppy looks at her, and thinks, this is what I want, right?

So when she moves closer to him, he doesn't think about anything other than the fact that he's supposed to want this. They had clicked, talked a little bit, even taken her out to a nice dinner date. So far, he figures that this should be something he wants, right?

The girl presses her lips against his and all he can think about is BadBoyHalo.

He springs backward.

Normally, this wouldn't be too bad. Instead, he goes flying across the bed, hitting his head against the headboard. From the force of it, a few things get knocked off the nightstand next to his bed, including a completely full, yet opened bottle of water.

"Oh, no," Skeppy mumbles, scrambling down and picking up the bottle of water. Luckily, only about a quarter of it has poured out. Unfortunately, a quarter of it has poured out all over the floor.

"I'm not this much of a mess normally, I'm sorry, wow, let me just-- gah," Skeppy grumbles, mopping up the floor with a nearby towel and putting it in the bin for laundry. "I'll clean this up, alright, and then we can--"

We can... what?

"Do things or something, idk," Skeppy says out loud, immediately wondering afterward, did I just say idk out loud?

"I think I should go," the girl says, glancing at her phone briefly.

"What?" Skeppy flails, making sure that the direction of his flails isn't going to knock over another bottle of water or anything. He glances at the bottle from earlier. Closed this time, good. "Why?"

"I..." she lets out a huff, thinking of how to say this. "You've been very nice and all. But I have the feeling that this wouldn't work. I don't think you like me, nor do I think this relationship would work as a result of that."

Skeppy frowns. "What? No, no, I do, I do like you, why would you--"

"Do you want to kiss me?"

He opens his mouth, then closes it promptly.

Fuck. How is he supposed to answer that?

Brrringgg!

Skeppy checks his phone.

"Who's that?"

"It's-- my friend, Bad-- Darryl. Best friend," he explains. "I should answer this."

"During a conversation like this?" She grumbles. "You're hopeless."

She picks up her bag and moves towards the door, but Skeppy gasps, moving towards her. "No, no, don't--"

"Listen," she says. "It's okay if you don't want to do anything serious. That's fine. If you want... Darryl, or whatever--"

"I don't-- what?!"

"I'm just saying. If you do, if the possibility is there, then I'm not getting in the way. Either way, I think you should reconsider how you feel." She bites her lip. "If you do, maybe give me a call if you want to give this a go. But... not now."

She leaves without another word.

Brrrrngggg! His phone screams.

"Jesus fuck, alright," he grumbles, picking up the phone. "Bad?"

"Hey, muffinhead! Do you want to record? I'm thinking of doing another video challenge but..." Bad drags on. "Couldn't do it without my best friend, you know?"

Skeppy lets out a small laugh.

Maybe all he needs ... is just Bad.

"Sure," Skeppy bounces towards his recording area. "I'll be on shortly."

"Join TeamSpeak?"

"Yeah, nerd."

"Wha--"

He hangs up the phone.

Yeah. Just him and Bad.
