Chapter 1: Aren't you disgusted?
Alphonse was tired, but that wasn't because he had a hard day.
He woke up at around 6 o'clock in the morning, showered and got ready. The young boy made himself some breakfast, to be accurate some fried eggs and a slice of bread and went off to the bus station. The town was awfully silent in the morning and very frosty due to the spring cool temperature. Alphonse almost missed his bus due to a cat. He knows the cat pretty well and pets her every morning. Not once had he almost missed his bus because of her. It was the calico neighbor’s cat he knew since he was 14. First the cat wasn't truly affected by the young male but soon enough she loved him.
Maybe it was the food Alphonse always had with him, or maybe just the love and care he gave to her. However, he did catch his bus after some running where he almost lost his flat hat due to the wind. Like every day he greeted the bus driver, whose name was Mr. Lang. He always was the bus driver at this bus route except on his free days. The old man had always time for the young boy to chat and sometimes even waited a bit longer at the station because he knew that the tall boy was sometimes late. Mr. Lang just liked the polite young man a lot.
When Alphonse arrived at the place, he had to go he always said good bye to Mr. Lang and went his ways. It was almost 7:30 when he entered the new building he almost knew like the back of his hands. It was made out of brown yellowish bricks and had a big clock on the top of the front door, letting everyone know when school should start. The school was an all-boys school, what Alphonse thought as ridiculous. There was this attitude of society that girls should be treated otherwise. Al knew how dumb this was but he had to life in these new surroundings. Still, he respected the women like he used to have, ignoring the society around him.
However, the girls at least got some education, but never the way they should have. Like they were told how to be a good housewife and just learned stuff about it. If they were lucky, they learned some maths but never as much as the boys did. Al knew if teacher could see this she would have turned around in her grave. Alphonse had a lot of respect for women and knew there potential, however his friends didn't quite treat them like equals. Always talking about what a perfect housewife they want to have one day. Treating them like a king and baking them some cakes and stuff. They almost see them as slaves, what Alphonse never would.
It also was very unpleasant to like the duties that the women should do. Man had to do other stuff. As an example; Al was a big fan of baking actually what didn't quite fit the society standards. Therefore, he never told anyone about it. Life here was hard and a lot different.
Now Al had chemistry lessons, learning stuff he already knew. To be as inconspicuous as he could be, he decided to go to school and live normally, like a normal 17-year-old boy. However, he still knew more than anyone in his classroom, maybe even the teacher, due to his past. He knew quite a lot from Amestris and learned more when he started living here.
He normally was at the library, investigate every little detail of every book. Everything could be helpful to may bring him and his brother back to their home. Unfortunately, he never found anything helpful yet in those 5 years. Nevertheless, he had a strong will and nothing could stop him.
Being 17 meant he was in the middle of his Abitur or A Levels. The young boy knew he had to have good grates, because if he hasn’t, he wasn’t allowed to go to university. Al was in his 12th year and had another year to go until he finally studies whatever he wants. The young alchemist, who didn't anticipated alchemy in the past 5 years, decided to study something like chemistry or something with rockets, just like Alfons, his brother’s friend who had died a long time ago. He really was interested in this stuff and already looked into the notes the dead man did before he died. However, he didn't know if he wanted to step into his footsteps yet.
The day until noon went pretty uneventful. Some girls sneaked to their boyfriends and smoked some cigarettes with them. The girl’s school was just across the street, so it happened almost every day, One of Al's friend got a girlfriend a few month ago and since then the girl brought her friends with her. Those girls started liking the gentle Alphonse, however he was just a bit overstrained by all the attention he got.
He never was surrounded by girls a lot, so now being was very uncomfortable for the young man. He always treated the girls nicely but never was interested. However sometimes a girl or so still made the shy man blush a little when she complements him.
In the evening he went home again, meeting Mr. Lang on his way. As always, he greeted the man politely and smiled. Alphonse always loved when people smiled around him, and this made him happy. He hated sadness and uncomforted. Anger even more, however in this world a lot of bad emotions drive people insane. So, if he smiles and Mr. Lang does the same; it made his day a bit better.
On the walk home he met the calico cat again and greeted her nicely. Again, with some treats he had with him. One day he will have his own cat for sure. When he finally entered the apartment, he stepped in and hanging his coat and hat onto the clothes rack. He hocked down and untied his leather shoes and put them off. Then he faced the cold empty corridor.
“I am home” he called out but got no response like always. The 17-year-old sighed. It was just like always. He was never around.
“Brother…” Alphonse felt empty inside since one and a half year. And it was always the same day. Getting ready for school, taking the bus, learning, eat and talk, learning again, take the bus back and enter the home. It was so off, due to his normally traveling lifestyle with his brother in his homeland. Alphonse almost hated the routine. However, what he hated the most was, that Ed didn’t stuck around like they did over a year ago. No brother to be seen. Al noticed only a few months when Edward started to leave the home+ earlier then his younger brother and arriving home extremely late, like 2 o'clock when the younger man already slept, that he avoided him.
First Al wasn't really thinking it was something his brother did on purpose, like he had better stuff to do, but when it went on for month after month and even on Saturday and Sunday, it made Al aware. He desperately tried to figure out what mistake he made, what may upset the other alchemist. They didn't even have a big fight beforehand so what could be the problem? Alphonse wasn't able to find out what he had done, and it drove him crazy. Every day a little bit more. A month ago, Al even made Edwards favorite meal, hoping that he'll be there at least that time.
He has left Ed a note that he is about to cook it the next day. However, the short male never appeared that evening. Since then, Al was even more depressed. And that was what he was tired of. Being depressed, hoping for his brother, wanting an answer and entering the home all alone.
Alphonse was lonely.
He sighed and walked towards the kitchen. Al wanted to cook something to distract himself. The young male hated the silence around him, so when he entered the kitchen he put on the radio where he listened to the moderator. The moderator let him feel like there was another person with him, however it still wasn’t the same. Al wasn’t an extrovert for sure.
He still liked being on his own and reading a book more than going out on dates or events. However, he missed it when there was no one home. He was lonely and got lonelier every day and that was a huge problem. As well he was scared about his relationship with his brother. He knew he had messed up something, nevertheless normally Edward talked about what he hates, so having no response is rare. And barely seeing his brother for over a year now was a huge problem.
After the young male finished his meal, it was already eight o’clock. Therefore, Al went under the shower. It was always like he searched something to spend his time on. Normally he would think about something to do at home. However today he had a plan. He didn’t even shower due to boringness. He wanted to look fresh and good.
Today he wanted to face his older brother to find out what is bothering him. Alphonse wanted to stay awake and wait in his brother’s room for him. It was the only way he could talk to him. The day was also perfect. It was a Friday; he wouldn’t have to get up early. Therefore, staying awake wasn’t that horrible.
After a nice shower the male looked at himself in the mirror. His short hair was down and a lot darker then when it was dry. It almost was a dark shape of brown. Al noticed the few stubbles on his cheeks and chin. Since a quarter of a year ago his beard hair grew, and he had to shave it every day. He really hated it and thought it as annoying. It also remembered him of his own father what just brought sad memories back into his head.
Therefore, he shaved it right away, not wanting to face his brother with a small beard. The next thing the tall boy noticed that he had heavy begs under his eyes. He sighed. He wasn’t physically tired. He was emotionally tired.
Before he moved into the elder Elric’s room to sit down onto Ed's bed he put all the light’s off in the house except the reading lamp of Edward’s night table. He had to read a book for German lessons, therefore he decided to pass his time while reading. Al sat on the already made bed. Every morning he make it for Edward. When he sees that the bed was used, he was reminded that Ed still stayed for the night and it made him sure that he comes back for at least for the night.
Alphonse always looked at his wristwatch to check the time and when the clock hand was past midnight, he still read the book and waited. Normally the 17-year-old would be in bed for at least an hour, however today he would stay awake for much longer. When the watch hand moved to one o’clock Al made himself a coffee and moved back to the bed. He needs the caffeine.
When the two-clock hour was cracked Alphonse wasn’t sure if his brother would come home. However, he will stay awake until he was. Al could be very obstinately if he had to. When it was around 2:30 when he heard the keys opening the front door. Nevertheless, he didn’t stop leaving and stayed in his place.
He felt his nerves going straight upwards. Alphonse felt his heart pumping faster and adrenalin getting into his body. Never was he this nervous seeing his brother. Sad if you think about it. Alphonse knew this was the first real conversation they had in one and a half year. He had to be calm but also serious and strong. Al knew he couldn’t break in front of his brother. If he does, the young male will never get his answer.
When Edward put on the light in his own room and entered it, Al noticed a few things. First the shorter male didn’t notice the younger brother yet, second, he seemed way shorter than before. Yet the younger male has not seen the other in the face. Since one and a half year he hasn’t really seen him, so the anxiety rose in the young male.
However, he swallowed it down quite nicely. When the elder male walked towards his closet to change, Al closed his book quite loudly, making his brother aware that someone was sitting on his bed. Alphonse even noticed that Edward winced a bit. Ed also stopped his movement entirely. He didn’t expect that someone was there. This gave Alphonse the upper hand he needed. He was the first one to talk.
“Welcome home, brother” His voice was extremely dry and deep. He could see the neck hairs of the older straighten, which made the taller knew, that Ed really wasn’t prepared. Al on the other hand was. He thought about this confrontation for a lot for at least the past month. He knew he wouldn’t leave without an answer. Al knew that his brother wasn’t dumb either, he knew what the younger was up to.
Still there was a long time of silence before someone spoke again. It wasn’t a comfortable silence. It was more like oppressing. The air felt thick and both candidates in the room where aware of the situation. Well just Al was the prepared one.
“H-Hey Al. Didn’t noticed that you are here and still awake- “Edwards’s voice tried to be as normal and casual as he could, however it broke. It was nothing the younger Elric knew. It was totally different. Edward never was like that. Ed tried to end the conversation quickly.
"You should go to sleep? You have school tomo- “
“Tomorrow is Saturday” The answer was cold and straight forward. Alphonse didn’t even broke. He was nervous yes, he felt his inside completely in chaos, however his mimic, gesture and voice didn’t let this come through.
It was a poker face he trained for at least a year now. However, he didn’t feel as confident as he seemed. Al was very nervous confronting his own brother about something what is bothering him for so long.
When the other didn’t say a word or moved even a finger, the younger took the initiative. “Why are you avoiding me?” Again, very frosty. Even Al himself was a bit surprised, that he could be so dry. “Al, that is stupid I am not- “
“You are Ed. You are for almost one and a half year now!” Again silence. Alphonse couldn’t see through the man who he could only see the back of. He wished he could know what his elder brother was thinking, however this wasn’t one of his skills. Before all this started, he knew his brother very well, but now it was like he was facing a completely stranger. Al just hoped that Ed does still see their relationship as brotherly. In the end it was Edward who avoided the other.
The silence went on for a few minutes. Al didn’t notice that he forgot to close the window. The curtains flew in the night wind back and forth and made the only sounds in this room. Both of them didn’t noticed the cold breeze because the atmosphere was already extremely cold.
“You still didn’t answer my question” Alphonse reminded his older brother again who just stood there like a statue.
It recalled the memories of Alphonse when he was in that suit of armor for five years. To his disappointment his brother still didn’t answer. The younger sighed.
“You know I won’t leave without an answer? Neither will I let you go, Ed. Just say it, the truth. I don’t care if the truth is, that you hate me, but it is driving me insane! I need an answer” While Alphonse turned around and now sat on the edge of the bed, still looking to his brother, Edward immediately responded.
“Of course, I don’t hate you!” It was honest, that was something Al could tell for sure. Still, the older didn’t faced the younger directly. He still just stood there. Head down, both hands hanging down left and right. The back towards the bed.
“Then tell me. Did I done something to deserve this? Did I upset you?” His voice almost broke, but just almost. Alphonse couldn’t handle such situations well. Especially if he was emotionally evolved in this.
Al knew he could never hate his brother even if he behaves like a total idiot. Hell, they have been through so much worst and he didn’t blame his brother or didn't forgive him. Like back when they transmuted their mother. Never did he blame his brother. This was something both did, both were gullible. Alphonse was a very loyal person, and nothing could change the love he had towards his brother. They went to so much horrible stuff that nothing could turn his view about his brother around. And if something is bothering brother he would be there and help him. Alphonse knew they just had each other.
“You did nothing Al- “ “Then tell me brother? Why are you doing this to me?” Al immediately responded.
“I can’t” It was honest. Al knew Ed really meant those words; however, it didn’t satisfy the younger one.
“You know I can’t leave you with that?” he said cold. Alphonse stood up. His feelings turned from nervous to anger. And this was justified. They went through so much bullshit. There should be nothing that Edward should be afraid of telling him. And he was already 17, so he could handle a lot, especially with his traumatic past. Edward doesn’t need to protect him from anything, he was almost an adult, hell in his mind he already was one!
He couldn’t do anything against that he already had the mind, experience and memories of a 21-year-old however still was stuck in this 17-year-old body. And Edward knew this. More and more anger rose in the young body. It is very hard to make Alphonse angry, but if he was, then the situation becomes dangerous for anyone who caused the anger.
“I know” Edward’s voice was almost a whisper. It was weak. Never did Al have seen his brother like this and his anger rose. Whatever the other blond is hiding it made him suffer and he wouldn’t even tell Al what it is. Alphonse had to bring up a lot of effort to don’t just yell at his brother. He was so extremely angry; however, he knew he had to keep himself calm. Nevertheless, the older already have felt the anger of his brother in his back.
“I am sorry” He said honest.
Something inside Alphonse just exploded right then and there. It wasn’t only that he was at the end of his tether. His anger rose to some point even Al couldn’t handle any longer. Hearing something so ridiculous from his own brother drove him insane and mad. It was something snapped inside of Alphonse that he couldn’t control. His anger made the whole atmosphere extremely uncomfortable. The younger stomped towards his elder brother. His steps were so loud and hard that if someone would have been in the empty apartment bellow them, they would have heard them. The noise was loud, and the floor shook like if an earthquake is happening.
With a lot of force, the younger one turned Edward around, grabbing him onto his brown shirt and crashing him against the closet. It was so powerful and strong that the plant next to the closet felt due to the concussion. The pot splattered loudly onto the floor, leaving a mess of dirt and spalls. It was extremely noisy and if both weren’t so distracted from what happens with themselves, they would have noticed it.
Al figured out in that moment that he was much taller than the last time he stood right in front of Ed. He knew he had grown a lot, being 1,83 meters tall wasn’t quite tiny, however he had his brother taller in memory because he was smaller back then. Since those one and a half year he had grown a lot. The shorter one also noticed the differences. Ed still had his head down, not looking at his brother’s face, but his head was maybe just as high as his shoulder. His face was on the same height as the other’s chest. Alphonse could only see the two bangs Ed had since he was a child.
Those bangs covered his face pretty well, not letting Al see what is behind those curtains. This was also due to his height, looking down on someone hides their face if they don’t look up.
“I don’t fucking think you are, Ed!” the younger one shouted towards his elder brother. Al almost never raised his voice. He wasn’t that type of person, but he couldn’t hold back right now. The alchemist was so emotionally frustrated and everything pent-up over this long amount of time. Alphonse never knew he could be that angry.
“Don’t swear!” the short one responded loudly, still don’t looking at his brother, what annoyed the other one even more. “I am 17! You don’t tell me how I fuckin’ talk” Al never swore in front of anyone before. He never had a reason to do so, however this was a new situation he was in and he had to get his anger out in any way possible. The younger brother noticed his brother opening his mouth again to talk, but he cut him off.
“Answer me, Edward! What do you think is worth avoiding me! After all we have been through?!” The anger was hearable in his voice. Ed tried to speak again but Al knew he wouldn’t answer and just give a stupid excuse or whatever. “Whatever it is! You should know I would never leave you or whatever thought is planted inside your stupid mind!” The shorter brother clenched his fists together and bite his lip.
“Al this is different, this is- “
“Ed! We committed the worst sin! Transmute our own mother. There is nothing worst!”
“There is!” This time it was Edward who was the one shouting and cutting of the other in his excessive loquacity. Al was quiet this time. Ed gave him something to think. What could be worst then the ultimate sin? Alphonse wasn’t dumb, but he couldn’t get it. He knew Edward said the truth, it was something bothering what was even worst, however the young alchemist couldn’t imagine what it was. Maybe he wasn’t capable enough to imagine something worst.
Edward sighed. “Please Al you don’t know what you will find out” He was calmer again now, trying to bring his brother to leave him. But Al wouldn’t let go.
“I am frustrated brother! I am lonely without you! I am emotionally suffering!”
“So, if I just stay with you this conversation will stop?” the shorter alchemist hoped for.
“No Ed” Al sighed, getting calmer again. His seriousness got also bigger. “I wouldn’t be satisfied if I don’t know what is bothering you. I am your brother. I want to help you!”
“You can’t help me, Al. No one could help me” It was honest; however, Al wasn’t the one who gave up early.
“I have to know Ed!” His grip on Ed’s shirt got harder and he made himself tinier to try to look into the other’s face. Ed’s head immediately snapped sideways.
“If you knew you would be just as disgusted as I am. You would hate me” His voice almost broke. It was trembling a lot.
“I would never hate you or seeing you as disgusting, Ed” Al’s voice was calm, but also demanding. He knew what he wanted to hear.
“You would” “How the hell would you know?!” Al said a bit annoyed. “I just know, okay!” Ed said while raising his voice. “You wouldn’t want to be with me any longer!”
“Do you know that this conversation is just because I want to be with you?! I would never leave you behind brother!” Nobody said a word again. The shorter male had something he couldn’t tell the taller one.
“Why wouldn’t you just trust me?” The younger one asked frustrated.
“It’s something you would leave me for- “
“Edward” his voice was serious and honest. “I promise you. I will never leave you in my lifetime. We only have each other” The shorter one didn’t respond and had his head still down. Alphonse hated it. He wanted to know what his brother is thinking, and mimic is a good information about the others feelings. The taller sighed.
“Can you at least look me in the face, Edward” “No you would notice it immediately” he mumbled.
This made Alphonse raise an eyebrow. Had the other did something to his face? Was this his secret? Is his sin marked onto his skin? No this couldn’t be. If so, everyone had already noticed around Edward and Al at least would get a call from his brother’s working place. This makes no sense what brother is mumbling. A lot of silence later, Ed now was the first to talk. “W-would you promise to stay with me if you would know?” he swallowed down and sounded extremely weak. It almost broke Alphonse heart.
“Brother, this is what I already told you. I would never leave you” He was honest, and his brother knew. His voice was soft and calm, he even smiled and loosen his grip.
“I know it is disgusting, so please just except it and- we go on with our days” Again this weakness he never heard from the Fullmetall Alchemist. “Just if you promise you won’t avoid me any longer. I want you by my side, brother” Al saw his brother nodding and whispering. “Okay I promise.”
Alphonse made a step back and let go of the shorter one. He hadn’t noticed that he had pushed his brother so hard against the wooden closet. Therefore, he hoped he hadn’t hurt him much. He stayed quiet and looked at the shorter. Edward didn’t look up immediately. He had to take some deep breath to encourage him to say the truth to his brother. He himself couldn’t handle it good, so what was its what brother bothered. Then finally Ed moved his head upwards and looked into those green-gray eyes of Alphonse. Both made finally eye-contact. Ed revealed himself.
Immediately Alphonse knew what the shorter meant a few minutes ago. He could see it directly. It was something everyone would have noticed. It was Edwards eyes that revealed it. The sin he had. Those eyes sparkled like Al had never seen before and they only did so for him. The glaze the older one had towards his brother was something Al had seen in Winry’s eyes when she looked at brother.
However, this was so much deeper. It was as the feeling were so much more tremendous then Winry had for Edward. Those eyes also emanate so much more. In his eyes Alphonse also found sadness, disgust and tiredness. His brother was just as tired from this as he was. But this dominate feeling shined trough. It was so overwhelming that Al had to make a step backwards. His eyes widen in shock. He had never seen this.
Ed cut their eye-contact off and looked away. His head moved towards the side and down. His voice was bitter-sweet- “I knew you would be just as disgusted as I am” His voice went silent.
It was so weak, and Al immediately responded. “No Ed I am not! Look at me again, please” he said desperately. It did take some time until Ed moved his head upwards again.
Something fascinated Al in those eyes. He was always an analytical and find out the meaning of something was something that always got him. And Edwards was something he had never seen before. It was so overwhelming that someone could express their feelings so directly through their eyes. Al never felt like that in his lifetime so seeing someone other do so was just so interesting.
And he had seen into the girls’ eyes who liked him before, but that wasn’t the same as this. It was so much more. In-between those feelings laid whole universes. It was a whole new world.
“How could you still look at them. Aren’t you disgusted?” the shorter said quietly. He was so shy about this that he wasn’t sure what to do. Al didn’t respond yet. He had to find the right words. In the end he just said it simply without any flaws.
“You love me in another way I do, brother” Al himself wasn’t confident right now. His brain tried to realize the current situation.
That this wasn’t just a girl standing before him, it was his brother. His own, blood related brother had those eyes. It was him not someone he just knew for a while, it was brother. Brother. They are brothers. His mind repeated those words repeatedly. It had to realize how much worst this situation was. Al barely noticed the nod Edward did.
“It is- I know- I am- “his brother stumbled over his own words. Alphonse knew he made his brother wait. He had to talk first, to make Ed sure what Al is about to do. But Alphonse just couldn’t. He had to get through a crisis inside himself. It wasn’t something anyone could handle well. A confession of the own brother was weird to begin with but if it really was the truth, it was something even more awful.
Alphonse saw into those eyes again, seeing the frustration and sadness. In that moment he wanted to hug brother. Make him feel that everything was alright. However first it wasn’t and second of all, if he would hug him, it would mean something so different for Edward. Al didn’t want to make Ed suffer, that he might think there is a choice, when there just wasn’t.
It would be difficult now to treat brother the right way. Their relationship is now so messed that it will be so difficult to treat each other the right way. Al has now to watch out so much more what he is doing. And Ed knew he couldn’t just toss his feelings and needs onto his brother even though he might have to be around him all the time.
Edward looked desperately up to Al, hoping for some reactions from his baby brother. Alphonse knew he had to react, knew he had to say at least something. He looked down to Ed, seeing those unsure eyes, who once shined which so many strengths, were so weak. Alphonse opened his mouth, but no words came out at first, so he closed it again. Trying to find a good sentence in his head, which was just a chaotic mess. Then finally he tried again, opened his mouth and spoke carefully.
“It’s okay, brother” It was short, but everything Edward needed. He needed some acceptance; he couldn’t live if he knew Al hated him and Al knew this since they were kids. This will be something difficult to handle. This was a new challenge for both, not knowing what the outcome will be. A wave of relieve washed over Edward’s face.
“Thank you” It was so simple but so true. Alphonse just nodded. They will go through this shit together, like always, however the younger male still needed time to really realize his current situation.
Some time went by when they just stood in front of each other. Edward didn’t look Al in the eyes any longer. Both tried to find out what to do now. Alphonse wasn’t sure how to react. Normally he would just hug his brother when something was troubling him, but now it was the wrong thing to do. However, Al didn’t want that this is graving their relationship, so he knew he had to get over it.
The problem is he had to come over this and he wasn’t ready for it. So, should he just ignore it, no this would be also the wrong thing. Edward deserved more and he just couldn’t ignore it. The way he behaved towards brother has to change in some way. The taller still felt towards him as a brother, but now he had to pay attention towards what he is doing.
“The plant pot broke”
Edward tried to change the subject, so Al would stop staring at him and the situation would change. And Al’s glaze actually went towards the pot on the ground. “Oh. Sorry. I may have had too much force. I’ll clean it up” Alphonse looked at all the dirt on the ground, thinking about the day before. He had cleaned the floor with a mob and distracted himself with his chores.
Now he had to do the same again. His mind was just hypnotized by everything it looked at due to the chaos that really was in his head. Alphonse felt so cold and hot at the same time. He sweated and shivered at the same time. Even his body didn’t really know how to react to it.
“Do you hate me now?” his brother asked him. It was again so weak. Al hated it; he hadn’t had his brother in memory like that. He was always so strong and brave and now he just seemed so decayed.
“No” it was honest, but his voice was just as weak as Edwards. “I said. I could never hate you brother” Ed nodded thankfully.
“Thank you” “We go through that together. I’ll always help you, Ed” It was always together, and this was no difference. Well Ed was right; this is so much worst then transmuting their mother. This was a whole new challenge for them.
“You don’t have- “ “No! We are doing this together. This will go over just like everything. We’ll find a solution! I am always there for you!” his voice raised a bit but was still honest. Alphonse meant it. For a short amount of silence, where both didn’t look at each other Ed again said. “Thank you” Maybe he really didn’t know what to say else or it was all he meant in those words, Al couldn’t know, but he also didn’t care. His mind was just overstrained by what he just found out.
The church bell started ringing again. The church was far away and normally no one would have heard it, because of the normal loudness of the city. However today they shattered in Alphonse ears if he just stood next to it. Everything before was just so silence. It really snapped Alphonse out of his mind.
Thankfully the bell only rang three times, making Al aware, that in just half an hour his whole world was crushed. Everything was different now. This confession was so drastically, that everything will be new. Everything is so messed up now. And it only happened in thirty minutes. Ridicules to think about what all could happen in this short amount of time.
“It is getting late” the taller started. Edward nodded. “We should go to bed, don’t we, Al?” He looked up to his brother and forced a smile onto his lips. He wanted that everything was like before. However, Al didn’t even noticed. He just turned around and opened the door.
“Good night brother” he said and left.
This night he needed a lot of time to fall asleep. His mind was so chaotic, and he searched for a solution. But he never closed his eyes with one in his mind. This was a whole new challenge. Eventually he finally fell into the dream world, but the sun already rose at that time.
