“Hey kid.” Tony called from across the lab.
“Hey what?” Peter responded without looking up from the mess of wires his hands were tangled in.
“Pepper had some interesting news for me today. Can you guess what it was?”
Peter could hear the smile on his mentor’s face without even looking, a fact that only mildly concerned him.
“Was it how SI stock numbers skyrocketed after someone turned one of your tweets last week into a meme?”
“What?! No! Did that really happen? What did I even say that could be a me me.”
“Oh my god, do not call it a me me. It’s called a meme and you know it. Didn’t you go to genius school?”
The cheshire smile was back on Tony’s face.
“Funny you should mention genius school.”
Peter’s shoulders slumped as he realized he couldn’t continue to focus on his project when his mentor obviously wanted his attention.
“What about it?” Peter asked, unable to keep the scepticism from his voice.
The sly grin facing him down only grew wider.
“Guess whose genius school just so happens to have a field trip scheduled to Stark Industries?”
“Oh no,” Peter shook his head, “I know you’re not talking about Midtown. Nope. No way.”
“Oh yes way. I just so happen to know the guy who approved the request this morning.”
“Nooooooooooo.”
