Work Text:
it was an eventful day for the crew of the ever given.
the captain had been drinking the night before, and lost control of the boat, accidentally wedging it sideways into the suez canal.
the whole situation had ended up snowballing into a global disaster, with world trade being in limbo for the 6 days it was stuck.
however, it wasn’t much of a problem for two crew mates in particular.
dream was no stranger to the sea. he’d been sailing his entire life, and this voyage on the ever given seemed to be nothing interesting at first.
sure, he hated the way the boat was used as a vessel for capitalism, but the feeling of being on the water outweighed his hatred for the bourgeois.
he had been tasked by the captain to show the ropes to newest member of their crew, a british man named george.
it was george’s first journey on the ship. he’d figured that taking the job on the ship would be a good thing for him, a way to escape the confines of the mainland and his strict family.
what both george and dream hadn’t expected, however, was that they would meet their soulmate on the container ship.
george looked up, the captain’s briefing on the situation had just ended, however george hadn’t really been paying attention to the news of capitalism’s near collapse. (for all he cared, capitalism could go fuck itself)
george felt dream’s hands on his neck, gripping his hair while the man’s lips met his.
he couldn’t breathe, and he didn’t care. he’d never felt this way before, and george knew that this is all he ever needed.
kissing dream is everything he’d ever wanted, their lips making magic in the darkness of the shipping container.
the fabric from his shirt is bunched up in dream’s fists, and when he finally pulls away, the two are both panting.
dream’s lips ran down george's neck. nothing else mattered in this moment.
before he knew it, dream’s lips were back on his and he could feel his teeth pulling his bottom lip, while he slipped his tongue into his mouth.
george’s head fell back against the ribbed metal of the shipping container, his hands holding his waist down as he ran his mouth over dream’s throat.
george ran his hands through dream’s hair and pulled his face back up to meet his, kissing his face all over. He exhaled, laying his forehead against dream’s chest, he could hear his heart pounding in his own ears.
it was cool in the container, the scent of the sea permeating through everything as the two kissed.
to them, nothing mattered. not the global shipping crisis, not the worldwide panic over the ever given, not the goddamn suez canal itself.
george broke away, dream’s green eyes the only thing visible on the darkness as his breathing steadied.
“enjoyed that hm?” dream said. george could imagine the smirk that must be on the other male’s face at that moment.
he wanted to kiss that smirk right off dream’s face.
“i did.” the brit replied, “i very much did.”
the two both smiled, laughter echoing in the darkness of the container.
neither of them had expected to find love while stuck in the suez canal, but with the ever given, you could never quite know what to expect.
