Chapter 1: Opening the Gates of Hell

Chapter Text

Director Nedzu had received a call in the evening while still on his shift as director of the U.A.
The unexpected intrusion caused a chill that ran through his spine, something did not feel right about all this. However, after clearing up his unexplained dread he answered the call.

"Director Nedzu speaking, who is it?" the rodent asked trying to hide his growing nervousness.
"It's been a while Nedzu-dono" a raspy and deep voice answered from the other line.

The subject spoke as if they had known each other for a long time, although Nedzu was not so sure who it was.

"I'll repeat the question" Nedzu breathed "who is it?"
On the other hand, a dramatized pout was heard on the other end of the line.
"You really hurt my feelings Nedzu-dono, are you telling me that you don't remember the person that you owe him the greatest favor of your life?" The more the voice spoke, the grimmer and creepier it became.

This is not good at all.

"Mori-sensei?" He gasped louder than he would have liked. "It's been 4 years ..".
"And I see that in 4 years you can forget about my existence" Mori sputtered playfully.
"A lot has happened since then, Mori-sensei."
"I can say the same about here."

Something didn't make sense, why would Mori call him after 4 years of complete disconnection? as well as bringing up the subject of doubt ... that means ...

"You want to pay off debts, don't you?" Nedzu emphasized.
A seemingly mocking chuckle, but merely laden with malice as well as hollow sentiment resounded.
"At least I see that you became to know me better than I thought fu, fu, fu."

Suddenly an eerie and intense silence filled the communication line just like Nezu's surroundings, it was as if a thick fog had swallowed the room with Nedzu inside of it.
But that was how Nedzu felt it, even though he could see the thickness of the mist inside his head.

It felt like hours when the voice finally spoke again.

"That's right, I want you to return that great favor, Nedzu-dono," Mori said, his voice soaked with poison and coldness that made Nezu shiver in his seat.
“We don't want to have any organization with a bad image under our protection, right, Director?

He was threatening him, no, he was threatening the entire community of heroes in Japan under the premise of probably an unimaginably painful death.
He couldn't allow it.

"That's correct, Mori-san" the rodent cleared his throat.
"It makes me very happy to hear that coming from you, Nedzu-dono" he continued "you see, this will sound very sudden, however, I will send two of my executives to Masutafu."

Two executives? For what reason? That made the situation even more confusing.

"Oh that's not all, I guess you remember Fukusawa-dono and his detective agency."
"Yes, I remember"
"Great. He will also send two of his detectives "

The tingling in his belly was increasing, to the point where he was beginning to ache.

"I see" he exhaled shakily "you want my permission to allow them entry."
"While it would be no problem for both organizations to infiltrate Japan, Fukusawa-dono and I wanted to quit such unnecessary things" Mori sighed "That and because that kind of thing does not fit the way Fukusawa-dono acts."

"Is that all you want in return?" Nedzu questioned.
Mori laughed dryly as he instead replied "See you soon, Nedzu-dono."

And with that, the other end of the line was cut, even so Nedzu continued with the phone to his ear, hearing only the beep that the device emitted.

Although Mori was no longer on the phone, the headmaster could still see the mist that did not subside in the slightest. His tingling in his belly turned into a stabbing pain adding cold sweat.

He didn't have the slightest good feeling about this.

——————————————————————————————————————

He is supposed to have an intelligence greater than that of a human being, he is supposed to despise humans, he is supposed to think of humans as inferior to himself.
But with the people of Yokohama it was so different for him. Since the incident of the 'second origin' his whole perspective with the humans of that place changed, he knew of the brutality as well as the enormous difference with their 'abilities', not to mention that some people there possessed an impressive natural intellect, superior to any quirk; including Nedzu's self quirk.

The little rodent's mind wandered in memories of him from 4 years ago; bringing the image of Mori; an imposing man, dressed entirely in black; his big black coat next to a crimson red scarf, purple eyes full of pure evil, no doubt an abyss with nothing but a horrendous fate for whoever looks at it.

After that he remembered a 17-year-old adolescent covered in bandages all over his body as well as the right side of his face; there was the same presence of Mori with that child, except that more gloomy and baleful, with those dead eyes without any light in them.
He knew that he was Mori's protégé, which explained many things, but it also terrified him in the way that this man could mold his "perfect subordinate" as he always called him, in any way he pleased to do so.

He wondered what the then child would be like right now, would he be more terrifying? Would he be more imposing? Was he no longer human?

What were the answers to those questions? Nedzu really didn't want to hear them, didn't want to know what the terrifying child has become.
Instead, he finally left the phone in place; his eardrum numbed from the beeping that the device emitted while he still had it pressed to his ear.

He thought about what would be the most logical or at least convenient response to this whole situation and after a few seconds he took the phone again, ready to call a meeting with all the professors at the U.A. Well, even if Mori was far more intelligent than him, the little mouse could assure that great chaos was coming.

Someone was opening the gates of hell; perhaps it was Satan himself who opened the doors of his twisted home, to take all of Japan with him, no, maybe everyone in the whole world with him; to immerse them in an endless elegy.

"Hmm? Does anyone know where all the teachers are? " Mina asked raising her voice.
"Now that you mention it, I haven't seen a teacher in the last two classes" Denki replied.
"Of course not, jackass, you said it yourself, we haven't had the last two classes because no teacher is here" Jiro rolled her eyes as she hit Kaminari on the head.

"I have heard that it is because suddenly the director Nedzu has called an emergency assembly, they say that it is because something really bad will happen, gyru" Tsuyu commented.

Everyone present let out a loud gasp; now everyone began to discuss among themselves what was that ‘bad thing that will happen’.

"A new attack from the villains?".

"It could be Shigaraki Tomura again."

"Another attack? mouh, can't they just give us a break?".

"The league of villains?".

"It could be worse."

"Something worse?".

"Yeah, something more gruesome than the League of Villains, Stain, or even All for One."

At this, the students were completely silent, tension was palpable in the air. If not for Bakugou whom started screaming.

"None of those stupid villains would stand a chance against me," he bellowed. "They're just extras, they're not worth it!"

This miraculously lightened the growing tension in the classroom significantly, to which they began to smile at the way Bakugou kept chattering away.

But what these poor, innocent children still didn't know was that none of them could even make a face of what would come next.
None of them would have enough mental or physical strength to confront the imminent threat that was coming.

The students kept arguing among themselves on the subject; when number 13 entered the classroom without warning, taking the entire classroom by surprise; who quickly took their seats in their respective seats keeping silence.
"I feel the lack of respect that I and my teammates have inflicted" Iida said out of nowhere.
Number 13 looked at him and just shook his head; hinting that it was ok.

"As you may have noticed, none of the teachers are with their respective classes" No. 13 said.
"Do not worry, in a few moments they will return" he declared "in the meantime, I come to talk to all of you about the new training routine that will be carried out in the next few days starting from today."

"Any questions so far?" he asked.

And as if that was the only thing that was needed, the vast majority of the class raised their hands.
No. 13 pointed to Momo, giving her permission to comment on her question.

"Does this new training sessions have to do with the sudden meeting of school-wide teachers?" She questioned, to which No. 13 replied "I cannot give many details, but it is correct, the training is linked to the assembly."

Now it was Mina's turn "are the rumors true that it is because something never seen before will happen?"
No, 13 imaginatively raised an eyebrow "I don't know where those rumors came from, but we are safe for now, nothing to worry about."
Mina was not satisfied with that answer. However, she didn't say anything else.

"Yes, Iida?" Said the professor.
“Sir, forgive my recklessness, but how are we safe if you said that this training had to do with the assembly of teachers? As I understand it, this must be a dangerous situation for all of us; since it is not customary to hold mass assemblies ”.

The pro hero gulped; hell, this kid really had no finesse.
"It is true what you say. However, even I don't know how dangerous the current situation is, only the greatest heroes and governors know about the situation in detail ”.

“Principal Nedzu came up with the idea for this training for reasons for your own safety as well as that of the rest of the classes,” he looked at the students. “I just know for sure that something is going to happen at any moment, that's why we we are preparing from now on ”.
No. 13 looked around before whispering "I'm not supposed to tell you, but this has something to do with the abilities wielders as well as the general citizens of Yokohama."

"Yokohama?" They all wondered inwardly.

Soon, Izuku raised his hand and No. 13 gave him the floor.
"Uh, from what I read, the people of Yokohama have 'abilities' instead of quirks, which they say are vastly more powerful than quirks," Deku paused and continued, "but they also say that Yokohama is a place where criminals reign , since the Port Mafia is the one who governs the city ”.

"Uh .." "But my question is why would suddenly the people of Yokohama be involved in this if they have not left their country ever? It does not make sense to me, because they have lived isolated from us and they have never wanted to interact with the rest of the world” Deku finished.

"I'm afraid I don't know the reason why they are involved in this either," the hero replied guiltily. "Okay, that's it for this question and answer section, now let's focus on the instructions for the training."

Deku let out a defeated sigh, refocusing on what No. 13 was saying.

"Then" began 13 "The training as I said will start from today. However, before leaving for the training area, we must specify what it will be about ”.

“In the first place, for the first time there will be tests of intuition and logic; you must recognize when a situation is more than you can handle or you must at least recognize when you are in danger; This is generally called 'instinct' ”, he cleared his throat.
"I know that some of you have been through similar situations and that some of you have ignored those instincts to prioritize the well-being of another person."

Todoroki, Iida, and Izuku coughed.

“But there are cases where you can't really win without losing something of the same magnitude. For example, have you ever wondered what would happen if you died trying to save a life knowing that you could well have fled with the person? Well, the worst case scenario would be that after you are defeated, the other person you tried to save suffers the consequences of your recklessness. "

The students made a face when they heard that; since he was right, but still .. aren't they supposed to save people no matter what?
The person could take advantage of that moment and run away from there, right?

“Well, secondly, there will be speed, agility and endurance competitions” he clasped his hands enthusiastically “that needs no explanation. However, the person who ranks with the lowest score will carry extra activities every day after school ”.
Some pouted, some complained, some got excited, still No. 13 went on.

"And finally, there will be a simulation of a massive catastrophe with fake villains" he tried to avoid saying 'with simulations of people with 'abilities', that would undoubtedly attract a lot of attention.

"Ok, having explained the three stages of training, let's go to the area for the first phase." No. 13 walked out of the classroom, which Class 1-A quickly followed suit

MOMENTS BEFORE (With the Heroes & Teachers)

All the teachers were in a large room; They used to take the assemblies in another place, but this time there were heroes and people from the government also gathered,
They all shared the great confusion they felt when being summoned to a "last minute assembly."

"This time what is the great reason for doing this?" Endeavor blurted out in frustration.

Nedzu, who was taking a seat in his big saddle, looked sternly at the now-not hero. one; the way he saw it made Endeavor's bones freeze for a second,

And it only took one name for it to go to shit.
"Mori Ougai" was the only thing the little director said.
However, everyone in that room was dumbfounded, frozen in his seat without a single word coming out of someone's mouth.
Nobody dared.

Perhaps they feared that if they called that name again, a catastrophe would present itself or that that person would magically appear in front of them.
Perhaps they feared that if they got involved in this matter, their necks would be cruelly and coldly slaughtered by a scalpel that many feared.
Or maybe they didn't even want to remember all that that man was and is in general.

Like any other human being, they valued their lives, perhaps even more than others, after all they are heroes, without them no one would be someone.

Or maybe the other way around, without normal people, heroes would stop being heroes, they would just become people with a big ego.

"He?" Midnight stuttered.

"That's right, at night he called me, he said he wanted to pay off debts" He argued.

They all broke into a cold sweat.

"Calm down, he only asked me to give entry to two of his executives and two of Mr. Fukusawa's detectives ... for now"

"For now?" Aizawa asked "what is he up to?"
“Whatever it is, it's something big, something very bad and big. Although I don't know if it will be because of him ”.
"What are you talking about?".

"We have heard of the most violent murders of the decade these days, not even all the corpses can count as corpses because of how deformed they are .."

"It's as if their organs have exploded from within, the head is always the worst part, the whole skull is broken, brains everywhere, the visors scattered all over the stomach of the victims" Nedzu commented.
“It is an instantaneous death, everything described before happens at the same moment by a simple act, it could not be Mori or the Port Mafia. It's someone else. "

"And he comes from Yokohama" finished Mic.
"They know, that's why they send their people here," Midnight said.

"Should we really meddle in such matters?" A government worker spoke shakily.
"If we don't meddle, we could be risking the lives of our students as well as the rest of the world," Nedzu explained.

Before anyone lashed out, Nedzu's cell phone rang; everyone was silent as they looked carefully at the cell phone.
The rodent looked at the contact and inhaled and exhaled deeply, then answered.
Everyone was still deadly silent.

"To what do I owe the pleasure, Mori-san?"

Now everyone in the room tried not to breathe or move in the slightest.
It was him, the vilest man in the whole world.

"Oh, so you're still in your assembly with the heroes and officials, huh?" Mori scoffed, he knew he was going to do this, he knew what Nedzu would do next, he probably even knows what he's thinking right now. He really makes his hair stand on end.
"That's right, Mori-san."

"Would you mind putting me on speaker? I would like to say something to everyone from me" the voice said with a notable false affection in him. However Nedzu did as he said, putting Mori on speaker.
"Ready, Ougai-dono."

The first thing those present heard was an empty, gloomy, raspy laugh that made everyone tremble like a kite.
"Oh come on, don't get so tense, I just want to warn you of something" he pouted.

Whatever they hoped for, they never expected their bones to freeze, their legs shake, and their heart skip a beat.
“i will end all of you if you meddle in my affairs or Yokohama's.
You know? it's been a while since I haven't dirty my scalpel, it's so depressing, don't you think? I should use it more often "

Another more than sinister giggle was heard on the other end of the line.

"Keep that in mind, see you soon" he said playfully goodbye and then hung up, only letting the beep of the call ended.

No one moved or said anything for the next 18 minutes.

Even All might whom remained silent the whole time, stayed still.
