Work Text:
Jungkook and Yoongi were best friends. The kind of best friends where one of them (Jungkook) is always at the other's house (Yoongi), the kind who share absolutely everything and keep no secrets.
Except for one.
The real problem is that the matter got out of hand for Jungkook. The least he expected of being bitten by a spider was gaining powers such as super strength, speed, agility and also being able to expel cobwebs from his wrists. At first it didn't make any sense, but Jungkook was an open-minded boy and also terribly intelligent (more, a lot more than average), so he ended up understanding why it had happened, took the matter for good and worked on his powers.
Superhuman strength, speed, durability, agility, endurance, reflexes, coordination, balance. That, and many, many more skills that after about six days he understood and mastered. Additionally, Jungkook also started to… look better. And that was complicated, because Yoongi always annoyed him that finally the physicist boy had decided to take care of his appearance a little and it was ridiculous. Jungkook was a physicist, he never cared for his physical appearance and he didn't think to either, so defending that point was difficult, but Yoongi seemed to tire of the subject afterwards.
Now, Jungkook knew one thing: with great power comes great responsibility. That's what the movies said, and Jungkook loved movies. So, knowing what he had to do, he decided to design (he was a physicist, not a designer, but he accomplished something with that) a suit in his favorite colors, a mask, bracelets to handle his cobwebs, and he dedicated himself to keeping the city at bay. Except at nights when he wasn't studying or hanging out with Yoongi. And it was amazing, because Jungkook was a noble boy and he loved justice, so from the smallest acts like helping a granny cross the street, to stopping a robbery or an accident, it was enough for him and he always went to bed happy and satisfied with himself.
It was even more complicated when he became popular. Spiderman was his new nickname and his best friend seemed like the number one fan of that new figure in Seoul. He kept talking about how incredible, amazing, strong and sexy he looked in the shoddy videos that people posted on social media. And every time he did, Jungkook would hide under the hoods of his hoodies and his absurdly long bangs so that Yoongi wouldn't notice his blush. He always blushed when Yoongi praised him for being so clever and creative, but that made him just another physics partner. Only when he praised the superhero Jungkook did he feel that the compliments were for him and, well, his chest would turn into a mess. Yoongi adored Spiderman. It was like… an obsession, the kind of obsession girls have with Korean idols, or Jungkook's kind of obsession with Ironman.
Oh, yeah.
Iron Man.
After a few months of becoming more and more popular in the city, one day a large, heavy briefcase with a new suit arrived in his room. "Hope it's helpful, Mr. Jeon." T.S. That was what the note had said and Jungkook was not a fool, it was a gift from Tony Stark. Jungkook had no one to talk about, but the first time he tried that suit on, he felt like heaven because it was a trillion times better than the one he had made with his aunt's oldsewing machine and scraps of fabric from blankets and curtains. This one was made with nanotechnology and Jungkook was a die-hard nerd.
Months passed, until he met TS, he missed college for about two months to save the world the first time with him, then there was an accident with a man who was flying and stealing things from space, then he almost sinks a ship, but now he was in a quiet moment and received gifts from Mr. Stark from time to time, almost always things as incredible as his suit.
So yes. It was hard not to talk about all that. But the matter had grown enough to feel genuinely lazy to discuss it with someone, and more so with Yoongi. Something about Yoongi's deep love for the superhero (him, him, hopefully him, please) made Jungkook feel like an interested liar. What would Yoongi think of knowing that all this time Jungkook had been the face behind Spiderman's mask? He would probably be very angry. Jungkook knew him well enough to know that.
It was a secret. The only secret! Yoongi knew everything else about him, but… yeah.
Yoongi and Jungkook were classmates from the Physics graduate program at Seoul National University. Jungkook was too humble to show it off, but he had graduated from school at 14 (where he had met his friend), first undergraduate in physics at 18, second at 22, and now he was in graduate school with Yoongi. Yoongi was only a year older than him, so Jungkook always reminded him that he thought he was a genius, and Min just looked at him badly, with red cheeks, as if to say "You say so?" because Jungkook was too incredible to be true.
Jungkook heard the words come out of his friend's mouth, and if he didn't get lost in the shape of his lips, then he got lost in fictional settings where they weren't friends but something else, like in the movies. He loved movies so much that he was always uncomfortable in his own reality, and yes Jungkook was good with numbers and complex subjects like string theory, but he was a fool when it came to socializing (Yoongi), so while there could be feelings between the two ... come on, they were physicists. Physicists didn't know anything else other than making little formulas.
The first time Jungkook saved Yoongi, it was at a train station.
Yoongi had said that he had to go to the other side of Seoul to get some material with which he would try one of his new experiments, and when Jungkook offered to accompany him the older rejected him, so Jungkook took that as the opportunity to start working early.
Watching his friend. Just in case.
Yoongi seemed like a magnet for trouble, but at least he had one superhero always ready to save him.
And in five years Yoongi always managed to get out of his problems just because come on, he was Min Yoongi and he was on his own because he was a god, but- returning to the topic, Jungkook was surprised when the train where Yoongi was riding began to jam, as if there was a problem in one of the wheels. And it was. Jungkook, at the top of the train, did not stop checking it for a minute and a half until he detected the problem. And it was so serious, that if Jungkook did not intervene it was possible that that train would fall from the elevated bridge where he was now. Jeon saw how, little by little, people started to panic and he knew that he had no choice.
Jungkook had jumped with agility about twenty meters from the train, had gotten into position to receive the impact, extended his arms, his hands, and prepared his body to receive the train and stop it. The blow didn't hurt. He wasn't entirely comfortable either. Unable to reject the typical humor out of his head, he had to giggle as he slid on the floor along with the slowing train, imagining people screaming, colliding with each other, slamming into the glass for the impact. It must have been a funny image and Jungkook's heart warmed to imagine Yoongi's face in such a situation.
When the train was completely stopped, Jungkook entered the sections of the train one by one until he reached the one he needed the most.
Yoongi.
"Are you all okay? Are there any injured people?” The suit was in charge of modulating his voice a bit so that it didn't sound like him, so he yelled calmly. People heaved a sigh of astonishment at the sight of him, and most began asking for autographs. Jungkook had never received attention in his entire life (he was seriously that loser who carried books with him, glasses, fried foods and his cell phone full of games for as long as he could remember. With Yoongi), so when people treated him like that he felt so good .
Until he saw Yoongi. The boy was looking at him and Jungkook's heart stopped for what seemed like years in his chest. He wished Yoongi would look at him like that in real life, with eyes so full of admiration, of attraction. It was absurd. Jungkook didn't know how to call that which woke up in his chest every time he saw him. It was something between love, longing, and a lot of protection. Jungkook always found Yoongi too cute, the kind of cute with perfect skin, freckles, soft, very black hair, outrageous laugh.
Back to the topic.
“Are you okay?” He asked him directly, going over to him. Jungkook felt like a god because of the huge difference in height. Would it be very strange to hug him behind the suit?
Yoongi babbled at least thirty nonsense until a "Y-yes, thank you" was understood and Jungkook smiled behind his mask. It was the last section of the train, so after making sure everyone was okay and the police arrived, Jungkook couldn't help himself.
"Hey!" Yoongi spun on his heel when he was called out by Spiderman.
The boy looked at him with eyes full of illusion.
“Yes?”
"You ... you look like you need a ride." His cheeks were painted scarlet, but Jungkook had a mask.
"I-I… um-"
"Do you live very far from here?"
"Well, a little, yeah." Yoongi was so nervous. "Across from Seoul, actually."
Jungkook smiled. Of course he knew. “Do you want me to take you?”
Yoongi dropped his chin, tightly holding the backpack that he hung from his shoulder. He was wearing a giant black hoodie that reached almost to his knees and skinny jeans. He looked good. So fucking good.
Very good for his best friend, yes.
Jesus Christ, Jeon Jungkook.
"Don't you have to… save the world or something?" Yoongi asked like he was scared that Spiderman would notice that detail.
"I can look after the city while I take you home." He proposed quickly. "So… yes?"
Yoongi turned even redder.
“Okay.”
Jungkook did not know how to do that thing called “going out” with people, treat people, take care of people ... everything that had people was unknown territory for him. So as they jumped from building to building he thought maybe that was too much for a first date.
Yoongi was screaming pretty. His vocal cords were tearing and it was funny. Jungkook had recommended that he hold onto his neck as if his life (literally) depended on it, then he had wrapped his arms around Yoongi’swaist having a stroke because of how nice it felt to have his best friend in his arms, and he jumped . Jungkook decided to stop swinging between his cobwebs, jump against windows and walls like parkour with Yoongi hanging from him to give the smaller man a break.
Yoongi was disheveled and flushed when they stopped at a building near the center.
“Are you okay?” He asked, genuinely concerned. He didn't know if Yoongi had a problem with heights, but...
Yoongi laughed, running his hands over his face.
“That was incredible! I can't believe you do that every day! I just-” he interrupted himself, letting out a "WOW" as if he was going to cry. “You're incredible, I had always thought you're incredible, but being able to fly like this-”
"In theory I can't fly-"
"Well, it feels like you're flying!” he screamed. “Just- wow.”
Yoongi was so disheveled and badly groomed.
He was so pretty.
Jungkook laughed, and if Yoongi had been a cat, his ears would have perked up for recognizing that kind of laugh. Jungkook had a similar kind of laugh, right? He quickly dismissed it, though. First, it was impossible; second, Jungkook had the sweetest voice; third, Jungkook was not that tall. Right?
"Can you continue? Are you not dizzy?” The younger asked again.
Yoongi just looked at him, looking super calm. He walked up to him and then smiled. Jeon felt his legs like jelly.
“Can I ask you something?”
O-ohh.
Jungkook loved details. He was the type to get distracted by the tiny things rather than the entire frame, and with Yoongi it was so easy to get lost in the details of him. He really liked the 4 freckles located on his nose, because they were almost transparent, as if they didn't exist until you looked at it too much. His eyes were so beautiful and dark, that the moon could already be seen reflected in his jet-black pupils. His skin gleamed a lot, like porcelain. And his lips were so pink.
"Maybe next time."
Yoongi looked at him mischievous.
"You say there will be a next time?"
"W-well, I don't expect you to get in trouble on purpose just to see me." Min smiled, showing his gums.
"So how am I going to see you again if not putting myself in danger?"
Jungkook smiled. Too bad Yoongi couldn't see it.
“Do you want to go out with me?
Yoongi stopped smiling to expand his gaze and drop his jaw almost to the floor. He turned so red he looked like a tomato. Jungkook liked tomatoes.
"I-I ... y-you, do you want to go out with ... me?"
Jungkook was a moron.
“Yes.”
"And are you gonna come to the date with your suit and your mask?" Yoongi sounded excited.
"I'll bring my muscles too."
Yoongi laughed out loud. Too pretty.
“Okay. Why not? I want to see what Spiderman is like on a date.”
"You'll be surprised, I can be very clumsy." Another laugh. And as much as Jungkook wanted to stay with him for years like this, because the weather was perfect, just like the sky, just like Yoongi himself, Jungkook knew he had work to do. “Come on, I'll take you home.”
When Yoongi hugged his neck again, it felt more natural and familiar. Jungkook wanted to imagine a world in which he could hug Yoongi without having the suit on and without having to jump from building to building pretending that he was someone else.
It would be nice to hug Yoongi's waist more often.
*
"You won't believe what happened to me yesterday." Yoongi dropped his things on the table in the cafeteria where Jungkook had been making formulas for about four hours. He looked up to meet his best friend, finding him too bright.
“What happened?”
"I met Spiderman."
Jungkook snorted, perhaps too exaggerated and unable to hide his nerves.
“Yeah right. And I met Captain America” that was not a lie, but...
"I'm serious, Jungkook," Yoongi scolded, peeling back the formula sheets so that he would stare at him. Jeon blushed, not quite sure why. He just got shy around Yoongi. “Yesterday the train I was on started to sound strange, and then it was moving around and getting stuck and I thought I was going to die, Jungkook. I was so scared.”
"Aw, baby." Jungkook pouted sadly, and Yoongi just rolled his eyes with red cheeks.
"I-the thing is- SPIDERMAN APPEARED," he screamed. "The train was suddenly stopped, and everyone collided with each other and it was too- incredible, okay?" He exaggerated. "And then the door opened, Spiderman appeared and asked us if we were alright and- wow, in person he looks so…" Yoongi's cheeks were painted scarlet and Jungkook's the same, unintentionally.
“So… what?”
“He’s insanely attractive. He's full of muscles and must be five foot eight and-” Yoongi broke off, as if knowing he was blurting out too much information. Jungkook was petrified. “I imagine what it will be like under the mask. Do you think it's the cute face or sexy face type?”
Jungkook stammered a lot of things, not quite sure what to say.
"M-maybe… a combination of the two?"
Yoongi groaned.
“That would be incredible. A face that inspires tenderness but that can be very sensual too, yes. Spiderman seems like that.” Jungkook didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
“Yes, I guess so-”
"But I haven't told you the best part!"
"Tell me, hyung," he invited, excited. He actually didn't know if he wanted Yoongi to love Spiderman more. Was it possible for him to be jealous of himself?
“He invited me to go out!”
“…What?” Jungkook didn't know how he feigned such surprise. Yoongi seemed on the verge of crying with excitement.
"Yeah yeah, first he told me he could take me home and I thought he was a pervert" Jeon wanted to punch himself. "But then we stop at the center, and we talked and... I don't know- his personality is so ... fresh and he seems so self-confident.”
Ha. Yes. Jungkook was definitely not Yoongi's type.
“Oh yeah?” He said unwillingly.
"Yes, yes, I swear," he said stubbornly. "And then I said if I could ask him something. I just wanted to know if he was into boys." Jungkook chuckled. "But I confirmed it when he asked me out and- God, I can't wait.”
"Okay, but... how exactly is it going to work?" Jungkook was asking because he had no fucking idea how dating works.
“What?” The older one frowned.
“The date. How it will be?”
"Oh, I guess we're going to walk, talk, and then we can… eat something, I don't know if he's comfortable taking off his mask. It doesn't matter if he’s not, I just want to talk to him and fly again.”
“Spiderman does not fly-“
"He does fly!" Jungkook laughed, denying.
"No, hyung. He doesn't fly, he only has cobwebs-
"You haven't flown with him!" Yoongi yelled jealous. Jungkook was shocked. “If I say that he flies, then he flies and that's it. Period.”
Jungkook laughed again, taking note of everything he had said.
OK.
What had he gotten himself into?
*
For the next few days, all Yoongi did was talk about Spiderman. How attractive he was, how much he admired him, how he wanted to get into bed with him if he could, and a host of other things that had Jungkook's head like a mess.
It was impossible not to get jealous.
From his damn alter ego!
"You seem in a bad mood."
"I'm not in a bad mood."
"You haven't stopped growling all afternoon."
"Leave me alone, Jimin!"
The black-haired man stopped eating his ice cream to look at the brunette with surprise, in the middle of a laugh.
Jimin was the only other friend of his in the whole world. He was a Literature student at SNU too, and they knew each other because they met through a common comics class. Jimin was not a nerd like him, more because of his looks... fine and stylish of him, but they were very good friends three years ago.
They met at least once a week for lunch, like now.
"Come on, what’s wrong with Yoongi now?"
"Mmhm?" He turned to look at him.
Jimin scoffed.
"You only get in a bad mood when something happens with Yoongi."
Jungkook blushed, looking away.
“That is not true.”
“It is. Don't make it harder and tell me what he did this time to make you so mad.”
Jeon sighed, knowing that if he didn't talk about it now, he would take him to his grave and well, he was pretty good at swallowing things (He was a damn superhero, so he knew how to keep secrets), but if he had a friend he could tell ...
"Yoongi is in love with Spiderman."
Jimin laughed out loud.
“What?”
“What I said!” He yelled, waving his hands. "He keeps talking about the damn son of a bitch since he saved him from a damn train accident, and then he asked him out and now he keeps mentioning him all the fucking time as if there were no more interesting things to talk about!”
Park was shocked.
"Spiderman asked Yoongi out?"
“That’s what I just said!”
"Wow… Yoongi is very lucky." Jungkook looked confused at the blond. "I mean, who doesn't want to go out with Spiderman?"
Okay-
Okay, that was weird.
It's not like Jungkook doesn't find Jimin super attractive, maybe too sexy and cute to be true. Jeon would be lying if he said that never in his life had he considered liking him, even asking him out. He could imagine kissing him and holding his hand, it’s just... He didn't know. He felt that in his chest there was no room for anyone… else.
"But why does it bother you? Shouldn't you be happy that Yoongi is dating? And more with someone like Spiderman?” Jimin only asked to annoy the brunette more.
He rolled his eyes.
"Of course I'm glad, Jimin." He lied. "I just-"
“You’re jealous.”
"Ah? What?” He almost yelled angrily, as if it were completely a lie.
"Come on Jungkook, when are you going to accept your true feelings for him?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
And it was true. Jungkook never, in his entire life, had stopped to analyze what he felt for Yoongi.
"It's time for you to think about it and do something about it, Jungkook," Jimin adviced. "I'm sure Yoongi is if not the same as you, worse off."
Jungkook just rolled his eyes, wanting to get the notebook out of him and start doing more calculations for his attempted time machine that would surely end in about ten or fifteen years. He wanted to be distracted. Matters of the heart did not exist for someone like him.
Yet his heart was so stubborn and foolish.
*
"So… you told me I could ask you questions on our date."
It was night. Maybe a little after eight, and they were walking downtown, each with a pretzel in their hands (courtesy of Spiderman). Jungkook was sure that he would give Yoongi his pretzel later.
Jungkook was angry at how well Spiderman's son of a bitch and his best friend got along. They seemed made for each other. Yoongi was more talkative with him, more natural and smiling. Spiderman was confident, too talkative, and he kept cracking jokes that made Yoongi laugh.
He hated that dynamic. Also, the city seemed calmer and more romantic than normal, because very few people had stopped them looking for autographs or photos and it seemed… perfect. Why couldn't Jungkook have moments like this with Yoongi when the two of them were regular people?
"Yes, you have the right to three questions."
Yoongi looked at him offended, his lips full of sugar grains. Spiderman/Jungkook wanted to lick his whole mouth.
"Why so few?"
"Because I want to ask you too, it can't all be about me."
Min shrugged, going back to his pretzel and brushing the flour against his lower lip, as if he thought about chewing or not before asking.
"There is nothing interesting about me."
"Pfff, that's a lie."
Yoongi looked at him confused.
“How do you know?”
Ah. Right.
"You are too cute not to be interesting."
Yoongi seemed to take the compliment well, although he seemed super surprised. Jungkook wondered if someone had told him before. Probably yes. Yoongi had had a boyfriend in his early undergraduate years, a boy named Taehyung from the art department, and Tae… he never not liked him, never did either, but at least he knew that he had loved and cared for him a lot. Jungkook had no idea why they broke up when Tae looked so in love and Yoongi so happy.
"O-okay, first question." Min regained his attention. "Are you an avenger?"
Jungkook laughed out loud. He couldn't believe how perfect Yoongi was. That question was fucking perfect.
"Not exactly, I think," he bit his lip. "I have fought with the avengers, and against the avengers because Mr. Stark is very stubborn sometimes and I work for him, so he always adds me to his evil plans." Yoongi was excited and laughing. “But I would think not. They don't always call me when there are problems.”
“Why? You are amazing.”
"Uh, yeah," he laughed, "But I'm very young and the other avengers distrust me a bit, because I have too much fun in fights and it shouldn't be that way."
"Why do you have fun in fights?"
"Ah, well... I take care of people here, right? But I never have confrontations with people who pose a challenge to me. They are always thieves or damaged things. But when I fight alongside them there are… more interesting things” like aliens, monsters, witches, and giant ants, but… well. “I'm a bit reckless when I get really happy.”
Yoongi laughed.
"You remind me of someone a lot."
“Who?”
“My best friend. His name is Jungkook” the aforementioned did not let his blush pass. “He is very similar to you."
Jungkook wanted to burst out laughing. That was not true.
Yoongi's best friend was a loser. Spiderman was a superhero.
“Why?” He asked, hopefully.
"I don't know, I suppose you have similar personalities, or similar tastes. He is also very fond of pretzels and he is very reckless and adores superheroes.
“He sounds like a great friend.”
"He is," Yoongi cleared his throat, blushing. "Maybe one day I can introduce him to you, if you want," he suggested.
Jungkook/Spiderman wanted to burst out laughing. Yes, as if that were possible. Well, maybe it was possible. He would need help from Mr. Stark, but-
He was starting to get tired of this.
"And do you think your best friend wants to meet me?" He asked, seeing that Yoongi licked the sugar from his lips, a little lost in his thoughts.
"I-I don't know. These days I just talk about you, but he seems on the verge of gouging my eyes out for it.” Jungkook laughed at himself. He was so undisguised.
"He must be jealous of me." he said playfully.
"Yeah, he's definitely jealous. But he's a fool, if he only knew-"
Yoongi broke off.
“What?”
Min waved his hand.
"Nothing, it's not important."
Jungkook let it pass.
"Do you want another pretzel?"
Yoongi smiled again. He seemed happy. And he looked so pretty when he was happy.
The rest of the date went quite well. Jungkook decided to ignore his jealousy and preferred to shamelessly flirt with Yoongi until he was so red and frustrated that he couldn't help but hug him, and at first it was weird, but then Yoongi hugged him tighter and felt pretty.
Jungkook couldn't believe that Spiderman was falling for Yoongi as well.
When Spiderman brought Yoongi up to his house, he helped the older one into his room through the window in the dorm, and he hung from his cobwebs at frame height to look at him a little more.
"So…" Yoongi bit his lip shyly without being able to look at him and playing with his fingers. “I had a really good time.” Jungkook felt the blush paint his face pure red. Thank god he had his mask. He had never seen a more flirtatious and natural side to Yoongi and it was to die for.
“Me too.” He said. Simple.
"Would you… want to go out again? Maybe we can... um, watch a movie. I like fiction movies.”
"Me too" He said quickly "We can watch Interstellar."
Yoongi looked at him hopefully.
"I love Interstellar."
Jungkook too, Min would have said, but it was weird to mention his best friend when he was trying to flirt with Spiderman.
“Okay. I'll come one night, if you want.”
Yoongi nodded, as if waiting for something. And he had every right to expect something. Jungkook hadn't stopped flirting until he looked like a bore all night. It was logical that now Yoongi expected a more obvious demonstration, but Jungkook had no idea what to do.
He ended up spreading his hands up to take Yoongi's, finding them frozen.
"I'll get you some gloves." He promised “You're frozen.”
"Can you feel it through the suit?" Jungkook nodded. "Wow, that's amazing," he murmured.
Jeon laughed.
“It is.”
"I'm actually always cold, I think I have poor circulation or something like that."
"I'll help you with that too." He promised again. Long ago he was working on a medicine that would help keep Yoongi's hands and feet warmer, and that would help him with fatigue. Jungkook was sure that Yoongi had anemia because he did nothing but eat flours and drink coffee, so he was working on that medicine. He just needed a few more weeks because he couldn't read chemistry books that fast.
"Are you going to take care of me?" Yoongi looked at him like half melted.
Spiderman nodded.
"And how do I take care of you?"
Jungkook smirked behind the mask, wishing that damn suit wasn't in the way.
"I am very spoiled." He confessed. "Could you hold my hand?"
Min nodded, pressing his hands into his own larger ones.
“Yes, of course.”
"Thank you, Yoongi."
Then they looked at each other for a while, Jungkook finding it too perfect through the mask, the moon bathing his pale skin a fine, elegant white. Jungkook just needed jazz music in the background and then it would be perfect.
Jungkook just needed to be him.
Spiderman leaned in and placed a kiss on the boy's cheek, blowing it a bit more so that Yoongi was aware that he had kissed him. Then he rubbed his face against his cheeks, longing for him too much. Min stood against him appreciating the pampering, and Jungkook let go of his hands, walked away, and jumped out onto the terrace of the residences.
Yoongi leaned against the window frame, looking for the boy who had his world literally turned upside down.
*
Yoongi wouldn't shut up.
It was the weekend, which meant they had the university labs available to themselves. Yoongi had always been super curious about force fields (and thanks to recent slightly out of the ordinary events, his research had advanced a lot), and he was playing with the strings of a violin while building transparent walls painted in a pretty lilac around it, testing the effects of every formula, chemical, and material.
Without stopping talking about Spiderman.
Jungkook was beginning to hate Spiderman.
"What do you think his name is?"
"I don't know, something boring like… John."
"I'm sure he has an amazing name." Jeon rolled his eyes, playing with chemicals across the lab, with his glasses and gown on. "He must be younger than me too."
“Oh yeah?” He said unwillingly.
"Yes, at least one or two years. But I doubt that he studies, when does he study if he's always saving the world?”
"Yeah, he must be lazy." He grimaced, as if agreeing to draw such good conclusions.
"He must be a genius, Jungkook. I'm sure."
"Ajam."
Min rolled his eyes, stopping moving him fingers across the violin strings and setting it aside. He walked up to his friend, finding him with the chemicals on his hands and a test tube filling with bubbles that later turned to fire.
"You're going to incinerate the building if you keep playing with it."
"Meh."
Min sighed, taking a seat next to him, and wiping the chemicals from his hands. Yoongi forced him to look at him.
"Are you okay, Koo?"
Jungkook had forgotten the last time Yoongi had called him that. And he was so spoiled, he was going to cry. Yes, that easy.
Cute nickname + Yoongi = Jungkook crying. For something he studied physics. Duh.
“Yup.”
"You're in a bad mood. What’s wrong?”
Jeon just looked at the test tube, the liquid changing to all the colors of the rainbow until it was blue. That was Yoongi's favorite color.
"College stress."
"Ah, Kookie, why didn't you tell me? I could help you, but you're so proud.” Yoongi took his hands, the lab gloves pulling the skins away from him. Jungkook hated that there was always something in their midst. “How can I help you? What do you need?”
Jungkook shrugged, as if about to cry and with a wrinkled nose. He missed his best friend. Yoongi had been talking about Spiderman since last month and it was frustrating to see how insignificant he was next to him.
“Can you hug me?”
"Of course I can, come here."
Jungkook threw himself into the arms of his friend, feeling desperate for his closeness. They didn't hug each other excessively, only when they got too carried away or celebrated one of their successful experiments, or on the other's birthdays. Normally, their interactions were a bit dry and shy. Sometimes when walking their hands brushed and the two immediately pushed them away as if burning. But now Jungkook needed all the closeness possible from his best friend. At least a reminder that he hadn't been replaced by that damn superhero.
"You're a fool," Yoongi scolded him as Jungkook hid in his chest. Yoongi would have allowed his hair if it weren't for the gloves not allowing it. “Every time you feel stressed or sad, you have to tell me and then I will give you a hug and lots of pretzels.”
"Thanks, hyung."
"No need, Koo."
Jungkook would like to hear that loving voice throughout his life.
*
It was two months later that Jungkook was seen with the rope around his neck.
They were at a nerd festival. Neither of them had participated because they were too busy with their own homework, but they still attended the fair to look at all the projects. They were on one of the biggest avenues in all of Seoul, and everything was full of banners, tables and people with anime T-shirts, video games and stupid phrases. That was Jungkook and Yoongi's species.
Everything was interesting and lively, there was electronic music at full volume that covered the entire avenue and many people. Yoongi had brought his camera, and, as always, he took photos of absolutely everything that looked the least bit interesting. Jungkook concentrated on evaluating the experiments and apparatus of people with more demanding than normal, finding some quite outstanding. Lately people were more focused on inventing machines that would make breakfast without many orders and not on devices that would benefit the health or security, but well… millennials.
There were several moments in the afternoon when his fingers collided and Jungkook thought more than once about intertwining his fingers with him just to find out what might happen.
He did not do it, of course.
And it wasn't until a few hours later that something exploded.
Jungkook's ears immediately sharpened, knowing exactly where the noise was coming from.
"Where did that come from?" Yoongi looked scared. "Is it an accident?"
"I-I don't know," he lied. He was at least a hundred feet from them, but it didn't look good to his ears. “Stay here.
“What? No!” Yoongi gripped his hand tightly. "You're not going there, what if there's fire? What if something happens to you?”
“Nothing will happen to me-“
Then something else exploded. Closer. Yoongi was confused enough to see around him where that had come from and Jungkook took the opportunity to run away as fast as he could, disappearing from his sight. He threw his things into the first alley he saw, threw himself there and pressed the hidden button on his suit bracelet (Mr. Stark's gift) to be dressed in less than three seconds.
Jungkook started working then. He leapt from building to building, expelling cobwebs as fast as he could until he found the source of the explosion. A boy who was working with molecular energy to create crystals was trying to calm people, but a ten square meter fire in front of him did not give him a very good reputation. People were screaming everywhere, piling up on the opposite side of the fire. Right next to it a car was on fire and Jungkook knew it was not a good sign. That's why cars shouldn't exist! Damn gasoline!
All the cars parked on the sidewalks began to explode one by one, like a fiery domino that forced people to scream louder and run faster. Buildings were hit immediately, some dropping pieces from balconies or the glass walls of shops.
Jungkook's mind raced at a thousand thoughts per second until he found a solution, and then he threw himself to the ground. He moved the cars closest to the fire away thanks to his web, pulling them as far as he could, and as he swayed he kicked the few street fire hydrants that were there to start expelling water. However, the fire had washed away all the tables, chairs and banners in the fair and there was fire everywhere. Jungkook worked as fast as he could to get people away from the fire, pulling them off the avenue taking as many people as he could with his web, and confirmed that Yoongi was a magnet for trouble when he saw him surrounded by fire next to a woman with a child. And a damn dog. What was a dog doing at a nerd fair?
Jungkook groaned in frustration when it was impossible to discern where so much fire was coming from, and something else exploded near Yoongi this time, causing him to scream. There was a lot of noise. The building behind them looked like it was about to collapse and Jungkook made quick calculations of how to get the four out of there. So he jumped in, he grabbed the dog, the boy and the lady and jumped about four times on the buildings until he got to a safe part. When he returned, Jungkook considered himself lucky to catch Yoongi before the building fell on him.
He grabbed him by the waist as tightly as he could, and he made them fly as far from the fire as possible. Jungkook asked him quickly and eagerly to stay there, to please don't move from there, but Yoongi had tears in his eyes and he seemed super anguished.
Jungkook made sure everything was in order. No person was in the middle of the fire now, and minutes later firefighters arrived. His work was done.
He then flew back to Yoongi, finding him curled up on the floor. When he landed in front of him, Min stood up with eyes shot in sheer panic.
"Jungkook is over there!" He cried desperately. "I-I swear I was with him before all that happened, but he disappeared and - and I don't know where he is and please, please help me find him, Spiderman, I-!" He cleaned the dust stuck to his face. “I don't know what I'll do if something happens to him, please.”
"All right, calm down. I'll go get it, okay? How does he look like? "Jungkook was just going to change his clothes, but ... well.
“O-Okay, yes” Yoongi took a breath to calm himself, still crying. “He is as tall as you, quite skinny and has brown hair. He's… he's really pretty and he's probably looking at the fire like he's a marvel or something because he's an idiot.”
Jungkook felt him fall to his knees before Yoongi.
Shit, he was so cute.
"Okay, I promise I'll find it. Don’t worry.” He promised.
"Thanks, Spiderman."
Yoongi seemed embarrassed that he had allowed himself to be seen crying, but Spiderman didn't stay there any longer, jumping up and disappearing later.
Minutes later, Jungkook appeared.
"Hyung!" He came running towards Yoongi, completely unharmed.
Yoongi slapped him in the face.
"How dare you disappear in such a mess?!” Now he gave him a fist in the chest "You're an idiot, do you know how worried I was for you?! I thought you were dead, you useless fool!” Another hit, Jungkook backing away at each one. "You can't disappear just like that when things are on fire and everything is falling down, Jeon Jungkook! I-” Yoongi stopped to cry, looking too distraught. “I was worried about you, you dumbass! Stop disappearing like this! No-nothing can happen to you, did you hear me?! I… what am I going to do without you?” Then he broke, hitting him in the chest with less force each time.
"Hyung," he said shyly. "Were you so worried?"
"Of course I do, you MORON!" He yelled at him. "I thought you were dead, that something had fallen on you, that you were cremated somewhere!"
“Hey, I-“
“DON’T “HEY” AT ME!” He screamed. “I hate you!” He shouted again, torn, too tearful. Yoongi hit him for a while until he reached his chest and hid there. Jungkook thought that his heights were perfect because Yoongi could rest his chin on his shoulder with a bit of difficulty, and if not, rest his forehead against his chin, perfect for kisses on the forehead. “I can’t lose you, Jungkook.” He pronounced more broken after a while.
"You're not going to lose me, hyung. I promise I'll take care of myself, and I'm so sorry for disappearing. I lost sight of you and tried to get out, but there was a lot of fire and I was overwhelmed.”
"Everything overwhelms you."
“I am really sorry, hyungie.”
Then Yoongi raised his arms to hug his neck hanging onto him. Jungkook wrapped his arms around his friend's skinny waist and sighed against him.
"I love you so much, hyung." He confessed for the first time in a few months. He hardly ever told him he loves him. It was so hard.
"I love you more" Yoongi sounded tearful still "I swear I'll kill you the next time you do something like that to me, you idiot."
"Maybe... m-maybe you can take care of me."
Yoongi walked away to look into his eyes, a little confused. He felt that he had a déjà vu.
"How can I take care of you?"
Jungkook just smiled, and before Yoongi could process what was going on, he took his hand and laced his fingers with it.
"Let's go get some coffee, hyung. You are too upset.”
Yoongi didn't let go of him.
*
Between Spiderman and Jeon Jungkook, it was obvious that Jungkook cared more for Yoongi.
But Spiderman was the one who could do something about it, because Jungkook was useless.
It wasn't long after that Yoongi got into another trouble.
A fight. Nothing weird about Yoongi, because he tended to be a bit troublesome and grumpy. That night Jungkook had homework to spare because lately he was too busy conquering Yoongi, so he decided not to work that night and stay at his apartment doing everything he could at night. At about 1 in the morning, his ears were so awake by the silence of the street that it was not difficult to hear.
Yoongi was in danger. Maybe it was that pang that he had since he was a teenager, the overprotective instinct with Yoongi, or the fact that he was a superhero, but it seemed that danger always called him naturally. As if he was made to save people.
Jungkook threw his homework, put on his suit, and jumped out of his bedroom window to chase after the noise. Yoongi was in a bar (which was not strange either, because Yoongi adored alcohol with his life), surrounded by a lot of people, a man considerably older than him in front of him yelling rude words at him. Yoongi was not far behind.
Yoongi was too rude.
Jungkook saw everything from afar, in the dark and in a spider position (if that existed) observing what was happening. Yoongi seemed a bit drunk, just like the rest of the people, and apparently the fight was because Yoongi was homosexual and the other man was not, besides that he was disgusted by that and kept insulting him, calling him for a lot of words that Jungkook didn't even know.
Spiderman jumped from his spot until landing right in the middle of them. Yoongi stopped shouting all the rude words in the world in one sentence in surprise.
"Spiderman?"
"Hi, sweetie." He looked at him, before turning to see the other man. "What's going on here?"
"Ah, the human spider," the man scoffed, his breath shitty. Jungkook hated alcohol. He never got drunk and was too bitter. “That fag is invading my bar! He is dancing with other men and he won't stop flirting!”
"BECAUSE IT'S MY DAMN PROBLEM WHO DOES I FUCK AND WHO I DON'T, YOU SON OF A BITCH!"
Jungkook barely blinked. Rude Yoongi was sexy.
"Okay, that shouldn't be a problem," Jungkook suggested calmly. "All sexual orientations are valid, sir."
The other man just laughed.
"Then you're another fag!"
"The boys are pretty good, you know." He said coolly, walking up to him ready to fight. "I would have no problem hooking up with a boy, if I'm honest," the people around made a sound of surprise. Maybe his image would change if that became public, but he couldn't care less.
The other man looked on the verge of vomiting, offended and too disgusted to be true. Jeon just rolled his eyes. He wasn't surprised by Korea, if he was sincere.
Pathetic.
Then there was too much noise, some people were encouraging him to defend, and others were inciting the owner of the bar to hit him, and Jungkook dodged the first blow, seeing that everything was moving in slow motion. The man was too big, clumsy and slow and Jungkook felt sleepy just moving from side to side dodging each blow. People started laughing as the man got tired of throwing punches in the air, until Spiderman's back collided with Yoongi's body.
“What do you say? Do I hit him, or do we go?” He proposed flirtatiously.
Yoongi laughed.
"Break him, sweetheart."
Jungkook was not the violent type.
But come on, it was Yoongi.
Jungkook delivered the first blow to the entire stomach, without using even half of his strength and leaving him on the floor while he complained of pain. That was ridiculously easy.
Jungkook beat him up and tried, like the good superhero that he was who left teachings after fighting, to make him understand that he was okay if Yoongi or anyone else was gay. Even Yoongi scoffed at how noble and innocent Jungkook sounded as, sitting next to him on the floor, he explained to the man how today's society should work while the aforementioned only stopped bleeding and crying in pain.
Minutes later, Jungkook took him out of the bar, they hugged as if it were natural or a habit of whole years and stopped on a terrace. It was raining, and Jungkook wondered if Yoongi was cold again, even though they were entering the summer.
He loved the rain. Just like him.
Yoongi was happy, laughing, and a little drunk. His nose was red, just like his lips.
"I can't believe you came to save me at 2 in the morning," he laughed.
Spiderman shrugged, taking a few steps toward him.
"I could hear you scream and I didn't have a good feeling about your grumpy voice."
"I just kept swearing, it's not that bad."
Jungkook stared at him, hypnotized. It was starting to get difficult to be around Yoongi without thinking of telling him how cute and amazing he was.
"You're so cute," he blurted out unintentionally, thinking aloud.
Min looked at him with eyes like two hearts.
"I'm sure you are too." Yoongi took one of his hands to play with his fingers, his suit pulling them apart.
"My job isn't done if I don't do that at the end," He explained in a whisper, not wanting to break the tranquility of the environment.
"You are amazing, Spiderman."
Jungkook would give anything for Yoongi to speak his name now. That he looked at him and not that mask.
“Can I ask you something?” Yoongi broke the silence.
“Yes.”
"When will I kiss you?"
Jungkook gave another laugh as his cheeks turned scarlet. At that point he was grateful that he had the mask to not look like an inexperienced fool (he was). Even if he was now playing the role of Spiderman, he was still Jungkook, and that was why he succumbed to the first thing that occurred to him in panic.
He jumped up and disappeared.
"Come on, don't be a coward!" Yoongi asked with a laugh and looking around him in search of the boy. "Spiderman, don't be a coward and come back now! It was an innocent question, you know. You can say no, and that's okay.”
Luckily for Yoongi, Jungkook was hiding on the highest part of the roof, on a tank and in a spider position. He just looked at him.
"Can you come down, please?"
Jungkook began to descend hanging from a cobweb until he was at Yoongi's height. Except this time he wasn't on his feet, but the other way around. He was hanging upside down and Yoongi found him adorable, although Jeon never knew.
"Hello, you" Spiderman said nervously. He was behind Yoongi and the older one jumped in shock, turning on his heel to look at him. They were face to face. “Are you okay?”
"I'm perfect," Yoongi murmured. He cleared his voice and then, in the loudest voice, said, "I want to thank you for saving me."
"Thank me?"
“Yes. May l?”
Jungkook looked at him. The truth was, Jungkook had been watching him since they met, since they were kids at school. Only this time he looked at him seriously, removing all the layers of fear and indifference from his eyes. Yoongi, as always, looked gorgeous. His black hair was disheveled, and he looked darker from the rain wetting it. There were drops trapped on his lips, and others seeping from his thick lashes. He was so, so beautiful that this time Jungkook just forgot how to speak.
"Yes," he managed to say desperately. "Yes, do it."
Jungkook tried not to tremble when he felt Yoongi's hands on his neck, and the youngest mentally thanked Mr. Stark for making a suit so, but so intuitive that, with Yoongi's touch, his mask began to unravel. It would have been so easy for Yoongi to just touch his entire face, and then he would have discovered everything and found out who he was. But Jungkook knew that he wouldn't, so he trusted him.
Yoongi began to discover his neck and chin little by little, until his mouth was bare. The material of the suit still covered the rest of his face.
Jungkook felt like his body was on fire.
And then slowly and sweetly, Yoongi leaned in. Their lips were wet when they touched, but that didn't take away from how warm Yoongi's mouth felt against his. Yoongi kissed him innocently, with his lips moving against the other in the purest way; However, Jungkook's mind was filled with fireworks. He felt dizzy. Kissing Yoongi was like touching the stars with his fingers. Jungkook had seen the stars very closely, but he had no comparison with this.
It was his first kiss.
And it was Yoongi.
The kiss tasted like rain, years of waiting, and a bit of fruity alcohol, perhaps the tropical fruit-flavored vodka that Yoongi liked so much. The kiss only left Jungkook hungrier, who didn't even know if he was doing it right or not, so with all the courage he had left, he leaned in harder, wanting more and more. He was willing to show Yoongi how much he likes him.
He seemed like he had admitted that he liked his best friend.
Yoongi kissed him back with more vigor, holding Jungkook's face with his big hands, making his skin vibrate and shiver. Jungkook felt intoxicated from Yoongi, from the taste of him, his kisses, the touch of him, his warmth. Absolutely everything about him was just perfect. He felt so good. Something about feeling Yoongi's mouth backwards seemed a plus to him, because he could play with his upper lip and it was delicious.
When he felt like the situation was getting out of hand (because yes, Jungkook was an inveterate hormonal teenager and maybe he was having an erection), he decided to stop the kiss. Instead of walking away in the normal way, he preferred to lift himself up with the help of the cobweb again, disappearing beyond the buildings in sight. He sighed in pity, hoping Yoongi didn't get mad at how he left, only that right now he needed time to himself. But he relaxed when he heard Yoongi's laugh pounding against his ears, turning the world upside down.
Literally upside down.
Oh God.
Jungkook's legs felt like jelly. He had turned into pure jelly from having kissed him. He brought his fingers to his lips, feeling them tingling and burning.
That…. Yoongi kissing him… it changed absolutely everything.
He was in love with Yoongi.
*
It was a week after Yoongi spoke.
"I kissed Spiderman."
Jungkook looked up from the food to look at him through his glasses. They were just a disguise, because since he had superpowers, his vision was perfect, but Yoongi didn't know that so ...
“What?”
"I kissed Spiderman," he repeated. "I kissed him and…" he sighed.
Jungkook had a bad taste in his mouth.
Maybe he missed being kissed by him.
"How was it?"
"It was unbelievable," he sighed again. "It was raining, and he was hanging upside down, and I… his suit, it’s nanotechnology, right? So when I touched him, I uncovered his mouth and kissed him and it felt…” Yoongi took a breath, his cheeks super red. “I really liked it.”
"I'm very happy, hyung," Jungkook smiled honestly at him, a little sad. Now that he had admitted that he was in love with him, he also assimilated that he was just jealous and felt like an idiot for not being able to kiss him by himself. "Are you going to date him then?"
"Oh, I-I don't know." Yoongi swallowed. "I have to think about some things."
Jeon frowned.
“Things? I thought you really liked him, hyung.”
“Yes I like him. I admire him a lot and have known him more and I think he's great, just-” He broke off. “It's nothing.”
“What’s wrong?” He insisted impatiently.
"N-nothing, just ... I'm confused."
Jungkook frowned.
“What?”
"It's nonsense." Yoongi returned to his food, looking more serious and lost now. "Don't pay attention to me."
"But- um, hyung, you haven't stopped talking about him for the past few months. What could you think other than that you want to be with him? You already kissed him and it felt great” He said as if it hurt. He no longer even cared if he noticed his discomfort.
"Maybe I don't want him." The older murmured, without looking at him.
“What?” He almost screamed. "But, hyung! It's your chance to be happy and fly through the buildings! What else do you want?”
Then Yoongi looked up from his plate to look at him. Intense and telling, as if he was seriously trying to tell him something. Jungkook blinked several times, trying to interpret that very determined and warm look. Jungkook thought of his lips, of his kiss, and inadvertently he looked down at his mouth and licked his lips, desperate to kiss him again. Yoongi did the same, and when he looked up into his eyes, Yoongi kept looking at his mouth as if he was confused. Jungkook grimaced, distorting his mouth just to throw his friend off the track. He was flushed and his cheeks were so red that he was even embarrassed.
"I have to pick something up before class," Jungkook stood up then, unable to look at him. "See you later, hyung."

Jungkook knew that this role play between being Spiderman and Jeon Jungkook was not going to work forever, and it was a few weeks after the kiss that he decided to confess.
He had dated Yoongi a few times, they had kissed again like the first time too, they had talked, laughed, and it had been perfect, but Jungkook was tired.
He was too in love and it was awkward. It confused him a lot to be able to have Yoongi when he was wearing a suit, and to feel so far away from him when he was just a boy.
So, with fear to the surface, he decided to send a message to Yoongi asking him to meet at his place to eat and watch a movie. His friend clearly agreed, because that was an old habit since they had attended college together (that is, more than eight years). Jungkook tried to groom himself and look pretty for the first time in his life just not to sound pathetic by telling Yoongi the truth. He took a very long bath in which he used all of his aunt's skin and hair products, combed his hair (did men comb their hair? Well, he was doing it now and had no fucking idea how it was done), applied a balm that he had for months in a corner of his room on his lips, then he put on his best white shirt, his best pants, and waited.
And he waited.
And he waited.
Yoongi never arrived, after exactly one hour. And Jungkook thought at first that Yoongi was only late, but Yoongi was never that late. He was super punctual.
Without hesitation, he put on his suit and went outside to explore the path his friend had to take to get to his house. And it didn't take long for him to find him, cornered against a wall against a man… he looked familiar.
The owner of the bar.
"I told you I don't give a shit if you don't like me fucking men instead of women, asshole!" Yoongi looked tired. Who knows how long they had been talking. “The worrying thing here is that you got my name and address to keep harassing me, and that's illegal! I'm going to sue you, you fucking idiot!”
Oh no.
"I told you I was going to make you pay for this!" Jungkook giggled when he saw that his entire body was still swollen and bruised, in addition to his broken nose. He'd done that and was proud. “You and your little spider friend for being shitty fags!”
Yoongi rolled his eyes before smiling at him, innocent and sweet.
And he spat all over his face.
The man backed away and Jungkook would have been dying of laughter if it weren't for Yoongi going to get punched. It was obvious that this was going to happen. He jumped off the roof from where he was watching, and arrived just as the man was about to hit him, clutching that stupidly flabby fat arm between his fingers.
"What you were going to do is illegal too, young man," he said as a joke. Yoongi looked at him shocked and smiling, as if unable to believe it.
"Let go of me, bug!"
"Okay, you need biology classes too. I'm not an insect, I'm an arachnid.” Min chuckled. The man still had Yoongi's saliva on his face. His saliva was like holy water, he wished it would heal a bit of his stupidity. “What's the problem with my friend? Why are you so mean?”
"This conversation is between him and I! Let go of me, you son of a bitch!” Jungkook rolled his eyes before releasing him. So when he was about to get punched, he dodged it again.
"Come on, don't make a fool of yourself again, okay?" The man tried again, but Jungkook's reflexes were too fast. "Look, my boy and I have things to do so... sorry."
Jungkook threw two cobwebs, one at each man's hand to stick him on the wall. He knew it would last there as long as Jungkook wanted because the web was impossible to break. He approached Yoongi quickly, not knowing how worried he was until he got a better look at him.
“Are you okay? He-” He immediately brought his fingers to Yoongi’s cheeks, caressing him. "Did he do something to you?”
“N-no. He just spoke to me." Yoongi looked at him sweetly. "Thank you for saving me again.”
"LET ME GO NOW, YOU SHIT INSECT!"
Jungkook just rolled his eyes and threw another web at his mouth this time, leaving him completely silent. Yoongi laughed out loud.
"I would like that power to silence all the people who speak to me."
"I know I do," Jungkook laughed.
Yoongi just looked at him, as if doubtful.
"Are you going to leave it there?" He pointed to the man against the wall. He was so fat that by raising his hands, his shirt revealed a large, hairy belly. Disgusting.
"As much as I want to leave it there, I think I'll just call the police and then take you home."
Yoongi nodded.
"Actually… I have to go to Jungkook's house. He wants to watch movies.
"Oh, okay," even Jungkook had forgotten. "Then I'll take you there."
“OK.”
Yoongi was weird.
He was too.
When the police arrived, Jungkook and Yoongi hugged each other to jump onto the roofs of the buildings. Yoongi showed him the way, super hugging his neck so naturally that Jungkook really didn't want to let go. It was difficult to let go of him, to get away from him, to think of a life without Yoongi. He didn't know that those kinds of thoughts he had since he had known him were about love.
About loving Yoongi so much.
When they arrived at Jungkook's house, Spiderman helped Yoongi get in through the window.
"It's weird, I thought he'd be in his room." Yoongi looked disappointed, and then turned to see Spiderman. "So… thanks for saving me again."
"It’s okay" the minor said behind the mask. He hated that damn mask.
And then… quiet.
It was a bit awkward. He didn't know why, but they both seemed a bit off-kilter.
"Hey" they said in chorus. Spiderman gave him the floor. “I… I have to tell you something.”
Oh, no.
"Sure, tell me." He tried to sound as calm as he could.
"I ..." he sighed "I am very grateful that you have saved me from so many problems that I did not look for myself, and believe me that since we kissed for the first time I have not stopped thinking about you, but ... I have to leave it here."
“What? Why?” Jungkook almost yelled it out in panic.
"I really like you, Spiderman. Not only because you’re a damn superhero, but you're funny and you kiss really well” Jungkook blushed. “But dating you opened my eyes (again),” he said reluctantly. "And I can't be with you. I’m sorry.”
“What?” Jungkook sounded disappointed. "What happened? Did I do something wrong?”
Yoongi smiled, blushing.
“Nothing of that. I just… I like someone else. Many years ago. And I think it's time to do something about it.”
"You like someone else," he wanted to confirm. Jungkook was disappointed that he hadn't heard about that someone from his best friend's mouth in so long. Maybe it was a secret? Taehyung had appeared the same way ...
"Yes." Yoongi looked at him honestly. He seemed super determined. “I really like my best friend. I think… I think I've been in love with him since I've known him.”
Jungkook froze in his place.
"Jungkook is gorgeous, and he doesn't stop talking about time machines and… he has a lot of moles and a really nice laugh. It's similar to yours but I like his better. “Okay, now Spiderman was jealous of Jungkook, for shit. “And he's been with me for more than half my life and I love him.” He looked at him. "I love him very much, Spiderman. Sorry, but I have to fight for him now.”
Then Jungkook pushed Yoongi aside to throw himself on the floor of his own room, turning around and standing up afterwards. Fuck it.
"Hey, I don't think you should do that," Yoongi pointed out calmly. "It's Jungkook's room, I- What the fuck?!”
Jungkook pressed the button on the suit, which came undone in three seconds and was then in his underpants in front of Yoongi.
"I am Spiderman."
Yoongi looked at him in shock.
Shocked.
He looked like he was about to pass out.
"I… never told you because it was too much information and… I'm lazy- and at first- fuck- I was very lazy to tell you without explaining about the spider and the laboratory and the powers. But then you started to admire Spiderman a lot and it felt wrong to tell you when you confessed that you liked him and - I just couldn't tell you. And then I saved you, and I got carried away, and we kissed, and I realized that-" He sighed. "I'm in love with you, hyung. Not Spiderman, but me. I've been in love with you since we studied together, I like everything about you. From your habits, to your brain, your ideas, your tastes, dreams, and... you have a pretty face too, and I love you so much that I was going to tell you today that it was Spiderman, but you always get in trouble and-
Before he could fully explain himself, Yoongi silenced him with a kiss.
That kiss tasted so much like love. Jungkook never imagined that he could feel so loved during a kiss, but Yoongi's lips claimed him desperately, panting against his mouth and hugging his neck as tightly as possible. Jungkook was in shock for a few seconds before he was carried away again, lost in the taste of his mouth and the sounds of him.
He was so in love with him.
When Yoongi rose on the tip of his feet to be closer to him, Jungkook grabbed his legs to lift him up, forcing him to wrap them around his waist. And without any shame he held him with his hands on his ass. Yoongi laughed against his mouth, kissing him with affection and force at the same time, the smiles in between hindering everything and making it more magical, more personal. At some point Jungkook sat on the bed and Yoongi pushed his chest so that his back hit the mattress. They were lost between the sheets, turning into pure water by the humidity of the mouth of the other and mixing the flavors of their tongues.
Yoongi kissed him as if he had waited a long time to do it, as if in his mind he had imagined the kiss more than once, and if at some point time seemed to disappear it did not matter.
There was nothing like being in love with Yoongi.
There was nothing like loving outside of that suit.
*
"So… you knew."
“Yes.” Yoongi was eating a coffee cake in front of him, while Jungkook had a strawberry milkshake. “Although you were quite good at pretending, your laugh is very particular and Spiderman laughs just like you. Also-”Yoongi's cheeks were painted red. “I clearly knew the shape of your mouth, so when I kissed you, the only thing that prevented me from confirming was that you were upside down. I have no spatiality at all so I couldn't confirm if I had kissed you or not because in my head it was impossible to turn-” he mimicked his hands, making him laugh. “Your mouth to draw conclusions.”
"That's good," Jungkook smiled at him, his eyes spilling honey. "I didn't want you to find out by accident. I wanted to tell you.”
"Yeah, you weren't subtle at all." Yoongi's lips were full of coffee cake and Jungkook thought about leaning in and licking his mouth. Now he could. They were dating so he had the right to lick him all over whenever he wanted. "You got naked in front of me and said: I'm spiderman.” He said in a super stupid voice, low and slow, making him laugh again. “Seriously, it was super silly.”
"Oh, accept that you liked it," he begged laughing. "I have abs."
"Yeah," Yoongi blushed again, licking his lips. "You're full of muscles. Only with those clothes it is not noticeable. Actually... those clothes confused me a lot too.”
"Do you recommend that I get naked more often?"
Yoongi laughed out loud.
"We haven't been dating for three days and you've lost all your shame, Jungkook!"
Jungkook smiled at him again, lost in his beautiful little face.
"Hyung, about what you said to Spiderman…" Yoongi scowled at him. Maybe he didn't remember, but Jungkook remembered everything. “Um, you said, "But dating you opened my eyes again." What does that mean?”
"Ah," Yoongi laughed, running his hands through his black hair, exposing his forehead. What a pretty front.“Yeah… you see, I… had always known I liked you. I did not know if the depth of my feelings was such to be in love with you, but I knew that I liked you very much. In every way, Jungkook. We already talked about it, but… shit, I like you a lot, I admire you and you seem so attractive… and I know you from head to toe so there's nothing I don't know and love about you. But loving all of you is different from loving you, right? And... in the midst of being confused by that, I always saw that you were indifferent to me, or at least ... now I see that not, but we never show ourselves anything.” Jungkook nodded, agreeing with him. "So I decided to go ahead and think that maybe we could try later, when we weren't sixteen. So I tried dating more people, then I was Taehyung's boyfriend and it was okay, pretty cool.
“You were happy.”
"Yes," he agreed. "Yes, I was very happy. Taehyung is gorgeous and he made me laugh a lot. Only it was like fooling myself. Because I went out with him, I had fun with him, but then I would see you and forget everything. It felt very unfair to Taehyung, you know? Being his boyfriend and having someone else in my heart. And I felt very similar to Spiderman, only I always had the suspicion that it was you, so… yeah.”
"I never imagined you would break up with Taehyung because you were in love with me."
Yoongi shrugged.
"I just wanted to be with you."
Jungkook smiled, taking his hand on the table.
"Now you're with me, hyung." He looked at him with eyes injected with love. "I will never let go of your hand in my life, and I will make you fly through all the buildings you want."
Yoongi looked at him with a hint of fear, taking his hand tighter.
"Really, Koo?"
"I promise, hyung," he smiled, "I'm in love with you."
Yoongi giggled, covering his eyes with his free hand.
"I'm also in love with you."
"So… you want to fly before you go to class?"
Yoongi looked at him.
"God, yes. Please, please, please.”
Jungkook let his boyfriend finish the meal, they walked around the university campus for a bit, and after that they hugged and started jumping around the buildings. Yoongi was not afraid of heights and Jungkook foolishly thought they were made to be together because of that. That Yoongi felt perfect attached to his body and that his voice was better than any song. When they landed on the roof of the physics building, Yoongi had red cheeks and a grin from ear to ear.
"It's amazing that my boyfriend is Spiderman." Jungkook laughed, lifting the suitcase from his back to stand in front of his boyfriend.
“I have a gift for you. Well, two.” Yoongi looked at him expectantly. Jungkook was nervous and flushed. "Um ... your hands are always very cold, just like your feet, and it makes you very sleepy very often and you get tired very easily, hyung. I think you have anemia." Min looked at him sadly. "So I did this to you.” He took out a jar full of forty pills." I've been working on this since last year because I had no idea how the hell to make a medicine, but it has all the components that you need to feel better, be warm and… some additional things.
Yoongi received the jar, with a handwritten piece of paper taped together that read "Medicine for Yoongi-hyung <3 <3 <3". The pills were red.
"Additional things?"
"Yes... I extracted a component of my DNA. I ... I'm not a biologist or analyst or doctor, but I read a lot of books to know how to do it and I'm sure that after a few days of taking it you will have more strength and endurance in general, hyung. It's so you don't get tired so fast, because I know you like to study late and you can't because of fatigue and, well, it will make you hungrier than usual (it makes me very hungry), but I'm working on some bars of protein to fix that problem so… yeah.”
Yoongi looked at him with a smile from ear to ear, holding the jar lovingly.
"You are the best boyfriend anyone can have."
"Better than Taehyung?"
Min laughed, getting on the tips of his feet to reach his boyfriend and kiss him on the lips, slow and cheesy.
"I'd cry but I'm not going to be embarrassed like that," Jeon laughed. "Thank you so much for worrying about me and taking medicine and writing hearts on the jar."
"No need, hyung." Yoongi kissed his lips again and Jungkook felt that he was going to faint. He wouldn't get used to the taste of his mouth, or the feeling of having him so close. “I-I did something else to you.”
"Do you really have another gift for me?" Better than this?” Yoongi was already taking out a bottle of water to take the first pill from it.
"I don't know if it's better, but you're going to like it." Jungkook pulled a bracelet out of his suitcase. "It's ... um, it's got a load of cobweb. I don't know exactly why you'd want a webbing bracelet, but I'm sure you'll find some use for it.”
It was a handle as thin as a rubber band. As soon as Jungkook put it on his boyfriend's wrist, he adjusted the fit and a little red button lit up.
"When you press it, a cobweb will come out. I'm still working on the force with which it shoots out, but you will surely entertain yourself with that.”
Yoongi looked at his two gifts with eyes like two hearts. It was nice to see how much he had liked his gifts. Jungkook knew it was just the third day being his boyfriend, but Jungkook had always wanted to take care of him and give him gifts every day and well, what was there to stop him now? Perhaps his creativity, but he would try to give Yoongi as many tools as he could so that he could feel better and could play.
"Jungkookie," the older man called, looking up.
"Yes, hyung?"
"Can you stand up straight, against that wall?"
"Um, yeah, sure." Jungkook didn't hesitate to obey, walking up to the roof wall and putting his back against it.
Yoongi smirked at him before shooting the cobweb just off his left hand, then his right.
Jungkook let out a scream.
"I NEVER said you could use MY web against ME, hyung!" He yelled hysterically, though Yoongi didn't hear him because of the laughter as he walked towards him. When Yoongi was a few inches from him, Jungkook gasped to feel his boyfriend's lips right on his neck.
"Thank you very much for the gifts, Kookie." The older man's voice reverberated against his skin, making him shiver. "May I thank you?"
"S-sure, yes, hyung."
Yoongi didn't answer, laughing against his skin before going to his mouth and savoring him. Jungkook returned the kiss urgently, and groaned each time the older one grabbed his lips between his teeth to pull him and play with his tongue. The kissing universe was a new one for Jungkook but he was sure he would like it as long as he was next to his precious boyfriend. Yoongi took his cheeks, caressed him with extreme love and kissed him on the lips for a long time until there was a lot of saliva between their mouths and then he licked his lips delicately, driving him crazy. Jungkook's legs started to shake as Yoongi trailed the kisses down his chin, neck and then collarbones, the buttons on his shirt being released one by one.
"What if someone comes and sees us, hyung?" He managed to say.
"Then you knock them out," his boyfriend said simply, kneeling in front of him. Jungkook let out a little cry to know what was coming next. Yoongi started unbuttoning his jeans. “And then you say “I'm Spiderman” He mimicked with the silly voice he had used earlier. Jungkook let out a strangled laugh when he felt his boyfriend's mouth surround his cock and pampering him. “Say it, Koo.
"W-What, hyung?" He moaned when he felt that tongue drift up and down.
"I am Spiderman”
"I-I won't." he scoffed in ecstasy.
“For me?” Yoongi gave him a little kiss on the glans, and Jungkook trembled as he felt his knees give way for a short moment. Being immobilized literally hurt him. His stomach burned, and he lost all will.
"I-I am Spiderman," he said excitedly. Yoongi laughed against his mouth before uttering an "Of course you are, love." and continuing.
Jungkook knew that from that day on, he would be in the most beautiful moment of his life. Next to Yoongi everything was beautiful.
Even the orals on the roof of the faculty.
