Summary:

There was something Josuke couldn’t quite understand, and those were his own feelings.
And that's what frustrated him the most.

Notes:

HOO BOY i actually really liked how this turned out? like the little shift in style is what made me like it a lot, so yeah. also i've been wanting to write a little thing with jotaro and josuke for a while now. i really hope this makes up for the kinda rushed fic i posted yesterday BUT i had to get that one done before i started this one. also i may kinda edit this chapter a little later but probably not so yeah. expect the next chapter to be up in around an hour or so!

Chapter Text

There was something Josuke couldn’t quite understand, and those were his own feelings. The feelings he felt whenever he saw Jotaro, the feelings he felt whenever the older man brushed by him. That strange feeling he always felt when Josuke talked to him. He didn’t know how exactly to think of Jotaro. Did he like him? Was it just a little phase that would be over the next week? He didn’t know, but Josuke knew that he damn sure felt something about him, and that’s what frustrated him the most.

Josuke found himself thinking about Jotaro at the weirdest times, like in class. He would think about him while walking home with Okuyasu and Koichi, and even while he was just trying to go to sleep at night. He realized that he had feelings for Jotaro, and he just didn’t really know how to deal with that. Should he tell Jotaro? Should he just forget about it? He knew that the latter would be harder to do, so he just sat there. He just sat there, knowing that he should at least do something about it, but he also didn’t want to do anything.

That next day, Josuke decided he would at least do something. He decided that he would ask Jotaro if he wanted to go to lunch. Yeah, not too hard right? Josuke couldn’t have been more wrong. Once he had finally caught up to him, it felt like the words wouldn’t come out of his mouth. His heart was pounding, and Jotaro asked him a couple of times if he was okay. He eventually stammered out something like “You wanna go have lunch together or something?”. Jotaro agreed and they had both decided to go to Tonio’s that Saturday. Josuke had said goodbye and started running to school. His heart was pounding, but it was replaced by that same warmth he felt when he was around Jotaro. He wasn’t sure if Jotaro noticed how Josuke felt, but right now, he almost didn’t really care.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It wasn’t until recently that Jotaro noticed the way Josuke often acted around him. He always seemed to be embarrassed, and Jotaro had caught Josuke looking at him for a little longer than normal. Jotaro sort of waved it off as nothing, but recently he realized that he couldn’t really do that anymore. He had hoped that Josuke was just having a little phase, and that he would be over it in a little while.

His hopes that it was all just a phase were slightly crushed as Josuke had asked if he wanted to go out to lunch one weekend. Against his better judgement, he agreed to lunch with Josuke. He didn’t really want to make the younger boy upset by declining his offer, but part of him kept on telling him that he should have turned him down. He watched as the younger man ran to school, and a part of him smiled, just a little.

As he sat in the park reading yet another book on marine life, Jotaro had decided that animals were much, much easier to deal with than people. Fish aren’t gonna have an unrequited crush on you. Maybe he got so interested in biology because he was never good at dealing with people, let alone the fact that your younger uncle probably had some sort of crush on you. Jotaro shook his head and decided that he was thinking about this too much and went back to reading about narwhals. But, as he kept reading, he couldn’t seem to stop thinking about it. To him, this wasn’t exactly something that you could shrug off, even with constant distractions. Or maybe this whole thing is just a distraction for him, and its nothing that he should worry too much about.
