Tony had been used to not having a soulmate, he dreamed on having one, but it didn't work that way. The way it worked is that once a person made eighteen I line would show up at their finger guiding them to their soulmate IF their soulmate was also eighteen or older, well when Tony made eighteen and the line didn't appear he wasn't sad, his soulmate was younger then, that wasn't an issue at all, he could still hook up and have fun while he waited for them... Well he was all hope was lost when he was twenty-nine, he began drinking more and hooking up with young pretty things, hell! He even dated pepper for a while even tho she had a line, but she didn't seem to find her soulmate; she broke up with Tony after a business trip, apparently her soulmate was a Swedish scientist she meet at her trip. Tony was alone since pepper left he was happy for her, of course he was, she was a close friend, and she seemed happier than ever with Benjamin (yes Tony remembered the man's name...). Tony was forty one now... Way too old to have a soulmate he already knew he was dying alone, he really wanted to just settle down, to have a family , but he knew already that the universe wasn't very kind to him.
Tony was working on his iron suit with loud rock on the background, wanting to make it go faster than the previous models, then he heard Friday speaking , Tony paused the queen album he was listening to and looked up at the ceiling.
"Friday could you repeat that?" Tony asked , she repeated that there was a voice message for him, before she even said who it was from Tony said for her to play it for him, thinking it was Pepper talking about some boring meeting he had to go to, but when Peter's voice came on the speaker he was pleasantly surprised.
"Hey Mr Stark! It's me Peter... Uh well my aunt wanted me to not go to our lab meeting tomorrow since , well it is my birthday and all, I mean I wouldn't mind coming sir, but she wanted me to have e a party since I'm making eighteen... big mark huh? Maybe I'll get a soulmate string? Sorry this is getting way too long! I was .. I was wondering if you could come.. Or I could go there.. I know you are busy so if you can't that's fine and all.. I should probably shut up now , bye Mr Stark" the message stopped and Tony wanted to punch himself , he forgot about peters birthday!! How could he? Peter was one of the few people Tony was genuinely close with and Tony cared about Peter a lot.
"Shit!! hey Friday can you order something and make sure it gets here tomorrow ?" He asked , knowing she definitely could "it's the Lego Star Wars thing on the list " he said , hoping Peter hadn't grown out of Legos in the week since they last talked. He sat down for a bit hoping Peter would get a soulmate , the boy deserved it he was sweet, kind and very handsome, Tony hated that this last year he had grown feelings for young man, he was a disgusting old man and Peter was about to get his soulmate line he couldn't take that away from him. He grabbed his phone and send a message to the younger man.
So? When is the party and where I'll be there.
Tony typed and wasn't surprised when Peter instantly messaged back
Omg! You are actually coming!! It will be at the apartment at four!
Peter then sent another message.
It won't a party like yours tho , it will only be me, may, Ned and maybe MJ... But I'm so happy you'll be coming :D
Tony chuckled at that , Peter was absolutely adorable and deserved the world he sends another message
How about tomorrow you come here earlier? We can have lunch.
Tony smiled, he knew Peter would love it, the young man loved coming over to hang out. Not to Tony's surprise peter send a bunch of smiley faces a clear indication that he agreed and was going to come over the next day, Tony hoped the gift would come in time before Peter got there.

The next day Tony woke up in his living room couch , he yawns looking around a bit confused but then remembered he fell asleep while watching some movie. Tony stretched with a big yawn, getting up to get his coffee slowly walking to the kitchen, once he got to it, he lifted his hand to open the cabinet where he put his cups and mugs, that's when he saw the red line on his pinky finger, Tony fell back almost hitting his head on the kitchen island as he stared at his finger with his eyes extremely wide, this had to be a prank! Right?
"F-friday!" He tried to grab the line but was shocked when he realized the line wasn't physical... So it couldn't be a prank... But how?! Why now?! His soulmate was twenty-three years younger than him, even if they find out it was Tony they would most likely be extremely disappointed that it was him...
"Sir? Are you listening to me?" Tony almost jumped at the voice of the AI, Friday was speaking to him and didn't even notice.
"Y-yeah?" Tony said getting up from the floor and leaning on the island "what is it sweetheart?"he asked the AI slowly calming down.
"Your package is here" she said, Tony nods not even remembering what he ordered in the first place when he got to the penthouse's door he saw the package he grabbed it and walked inside holding it, after looking at the box a bit he sighed.
"Dear? Do you remember what I ordered?" He asked Friday, as he plopped down on the couch putting the package on his lap looking at it.
"Mr Stark that is the Lego Star Wars millennium falcon you ordered for Peter's eighteen birthday" she said, with that Tony's eyes got extremely wide... Peter's eighteenth birthday, and just today he got this line... No! It couldn't be right? There was no way Peter perfect Parker was his soulmate!
"You know what ... Take a deep breath Stark and go get dressed, when Peter gets here you'll see you are just paranoid" Tony said to himself getting up from his couch and going to his bathroom trying his best not to think about it.
Near lunchtime Tony was waiting in the living room for peter, he looked at the line for a bit, it looked like it was getting shorter as the minutes passed , probably a weird illusion from staring at it too much. Once again he almost jumped as the doorbell rang, he looked away from the line and walked to the door opening it and seeing Peter's beautiful face ,but before he could say anything Peter gasped.
"You are my soulmate..." Peter said looking at the older man's finger, Tony froze noticing he could see Peter's line and that it was leading to his own, he looked up worried at the young man's face and he could see tears forming on the soft brown eye's and he felt broken.
"Peter I'm so sorry, you deserve so much better than me" Tony said putting a hand on the boy's shoulder, making Peter quickly look up to him, the man shook his head quickly tears streaming down his cheek.
"No Tony! I'm happy! I always wanted it to be you" the boy cried hugging Tony tightly. Tony's eyes widened again that, Peter wanted him? He slowly hugged him back.
"You... Did?" He looked surprised "but... You are amazing Peter I thought-" Peter cut him off.
"I thought I was pretty obvious on my crush and I saw the way you started looking at me, I decided not to say anything and wait for today... " Peter said looking at the man's eyes "I love you Tony Stark" he said softly.
"I love you too Peter" Tony smiled wide kissing Peter's lips softly, and wow people were right when they said that kissing your soulmate felt different, it felt better than any other kiss he had before on his life, peter slowly separated from the kiss looking at Tony with those eyes that made the man forget all the issues he ever had.
"This is the best birthday gift I ever got" Peter smiled at Tony, the man couldn't help but chuckle.
"So can I send the Lego millennium falcon back?" Tony joked, Peter's eyes got wide with joy.
"You are kidding?!" Peter said looking at the box on the coffee table, Tony nodded "no way!! That's so awesome!!" He went there to open it, Tony laughs.
"Wow we were having a romantic moment here, I'll never buy you Legos again if you keep replacing me with them" he said fake hurt, which made Peter laughs softly looking back at Tony with a huge smile, and Tony... He couldn't help but melt and go to help Peter open it.
