Chapter Text
"Hello, Midoriya Izuku."
There he sat, Nedzu himself, a cup of tea in hand and a mischievous glint in his eyes as he looked over the 6-year-old child in front of him. According to the file 'People Nedzu isn't Allowed to Meet', this young prodigy before him had, at the scene of a hero fight, mumbled an entire plot to defeat Endeavour, taking into account the strengths and weaknesses of the #2 heroes in ways even expert analysts have failed to. He had only been added to the list because of the fact that his mumbling had been overheard by a nearby pro hero, who immediately accused the child of being a villain and tried to arrest him. The backlash from this event caused both the mumbling to go public and the pro's life to be ruined completely. Nedzu finally set the file down, remembering his first time hearing the story (albeit a vague version of the one he was now aware of) and giving the poor soul who had walked past his office a heart attack when he started laughing.
Now he saw the child that had done all this in person. His bag looked too heavy for him to handle - judging by the boxy shape the bag had taken Nedzu assumed he was carrying a great deal of books. That meant he read a lot and most likely due to this had impressive cognitive abilities. His shoes were of a certain brand that only made shoes tailored to the quirkless - a company that would soon be out of business if Nedzu's calculations were correct - which meant that Midoriya was quirkless and that made the obvious intelligence he had all the more noteworthy. The nervous look in his eyes suggested that this child had little to no self-confidence - probably due to quirk discrimination, which didn't fit well with the excessive amount of hero merch he carried on his person and practically screamed 'I want to be a hero'. He was short - unsurprising for his age - and skinny - which was concerning. Izuku likely didn't eat much. He also wore a long-sleeved shirt, which hid most - but not all - burn marks on his torso. He was likely suffering from bullying at school, which was also probably the reason behind his insecurity.
Finally, the child spoke.
"G-Good afternoon, P-Principal Nedzu." He fidgeted with a small pin with All Might's face on his backpack. An All Might fan, then. Nedzu chuckled to himself. "C-Could you tell me why I'm here? Isn't this U-U.A?"
"That'd be correct. I've arranged this meeting for a few reasons, really." The Chaotic Chimera points to Izuku's bag. "You read a lot, yes?" Unsurprisingly, the child nods and Nedzu can't help but smile when he finds he's right. "The books at the back of your bag show it. The ones at the front however appear to be thinner. Notebooks?" A second nod. "Could you show me one, please?"
Izuku retrieves a notebook from his bag, the handwriting was barely legible, but once Nedzu took more than a second to read it, he found it read 'Hero Analysis for the Future: Vol 4'. "You analyse heroes?" A third nod. Nedzu flipped through the pages of the notebook, the glint in his eyes growing with every passing second. Izuku only got more nervous the longer Nedzu read. His brain ran a mile a minute trying to understand what's going on until Nedzu set the notebook down again. "I'm impressed, Midoriya. This analysis, while messily-written, is on the same level as some of the professionals."
A sparkle appeared in Izuku's eyes as he was complimented. He didn't get many of those, did he? He sighed and typed away on his laptop and then finally printed out a sheet. "How would you feel about being a personal student of mine?" Izuku was then handed back his notebook, along with a form for Inko Midoriya to fill in.
That day, every teacher at U.A felt a great disturbance.
