Strings of code

Summary:

Tommy didn't realize his code was being locked by a demented Dream until he ventured into MCC, his team the Pink Parrots, which consisted of three avians with unique powers.

With the Admin's of the MCC server hellbent on punishing Dream for locking Tommy's Moobloom code it's up to Grian, Xisuma, and Mumbo to keep the kid protected during the championship.

There's one problem, Dream is hellbent on killing the thorn in his side, his motives sparked by pure blind insanity.

Well, the other Admins can't have that, and neither can the Watchers.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

In all honesty, he hated being the only human. He would watch people take to the sky, soaring up into the clouds or some run around at inhuman speeds being nothing but a splash of color shooting by.

He really hated it Tommy thought as he sat alone on the bench, mellhoi faintly playing in the background as he crossed his legs and twirled his thumbs in boredom. A thump made him look up at the green hoodie and white ceramic mask that fell from the tree next to him.

“Hey Dream.”

“Hello Tommy!” Dream’s tail flicked, and Tommy knew the man was annoyed at something so he reached over, plucking mellhoi from the jukebox and quickly pulled out his ender chest, stuffing the disc inside and waited.

“MCC is coming up.” Tommy internally rolled his eyes.

“I know bitch I can’t participate, remember.” Tommy said, growling as Dream laughed and clapped him on the back.

“Yep maybe next month!” With that he watched as Dream walked away, ears flicking in different directions at sounds Tommy couldn’t hear.

“That fucking bitch.” Sulking in anger he dragged himself back to his house and collapsed onto his bed, hoping for the team roster that would never arrive.

Meanwhile…

Dream snarled as he slid down a tree, landing on the ground hard “I can’t keep his code locked up forever!” With one hand he clutched his hoodie tightly and the other he opened up his admin perms.

The clearing he was sitting in disappeared as code sucked him in. Green and purple numbers passed him as he floated through strings of code, finally finding the right bundle.

It was a green string of code, small but if released would do permanent damage to his look and the reputation of his server. Dream couldn’t have that.

With a grunt he twisted his hands that glowed a faint red and watched as red strings of code twisted around the small string that shuddered and glowed a faint yellow. It was still fighting and Dream hated that.

Once the barriers locked into place he fell backward with a sigh onto green grass. He was back in the clearing.

A rustling startled him and he shot up in panic at the clearing that was now filled with golden mushrooms.

“Fuck…” His hand glowed green and the mushrooms disappeared in a poof of smoke. Now Dream was tired and exhausted so he fell asleep against the tree, gleefully waiting for tomorrow.

Tommy woke with a snort and quickly leaped out of bed with a grin as he dashed around looking for the roster. His eyes landed on a slip of paper underneath his door and he whooped.

Tommy scanned the slip of paper with a growing grin that quickly faded.

“Wait… how can I compete? This must be a mistake?!” He had no hybrid traits; he was completely, utterly human!

He tossed the paper to the side and walked out of his house with sagging shoulders.

“I knew it was a mistake.” Tommy grumbled, knowing that later in the day he wouldn’t be called to the arena and instead filed as a mistake in the roster.

The paper drifted sadly across the floor and flipped over as a small gust of wind entered the house.

The faint image of a pink parrot sat in the top corner of the picture with four people at the bottom. Gold reflected their names as the light bounced off and the words formed onto the ceiling.

“Welcome pink parrots to the 12 MCC!”

“We are happy to announce your team Tommyinnit! You are paired with Xisuma, Grian, and Mumbo!”

“We hope you have a happy time competing, can’t wait to see you soon!”

“-Scott Major.”

Chapter Text

“Dream, it’s time!” George yelled, grinning as Dream appeared over the hill, dragging Sapnap by his tail.

George flexed his hands and handed Dream their team paper. They were all in a team, the orange ocelots.

“Give me a second.” Dream said, dropping Sapnap who landed on the ground with a thud and waved his hand, instead of glowing green it changed to a dark purple and a portal rose from the ground.

They walked through, not noticing the small form of Tommy walking behind them and looking over at the portal with curiosity.

He took a quick glance around, seeing no one Tommy shrugged and ran. His eyes closed as purple waves encased him and he fell into the portal.

“Welcome Tommyinnit!”

“What the fuck?” Dream muttered as the chat popped up with Tommy’s name. He looked at the team roster and hissed at Tommy’s name in gold lettering.

A small bolt of pain made him stumble and he walked away from George and Sapnap who were in a conversation.

Ducking away from the crowds he pulled up Tommy’s code. Dream’s eyes widened under the ceramic mask at the green string now flashing gold and white, tearing away at his chains.

“Fucking hell...” Barely able to mutter out curses he jumped at the loud bangs of fireworks.

“Hey Dream! Look I have a team!” Tommy shouted from amongst the crowd and Dream waved slowly before running over to the teen who was grinning from ear to ear and staring at the roster.

“Hey Tommy… you're not supposed to be here!” Tommy frowned and waved a hand at the roster.

“No I have a team!”

Dream rubbed a hand over his mask and sighed. “No Scott told me it was a mistake. Sorry Tommy.”

“Scott runs this competition right?” Dream nodded and smiled as Tommy’s face of joy turned to disappointment and sadness.

“Well how do I leave then?” Dream internally whooped as he silently led Tommy toward the portal, pushing past people, wings and tails.

He was stopped by three people who walked through the portal. Tommy gasped and his smile returned as the three looked at him with faces of surprise and amusement.

“You must be the legendary Dream!” The tallest wearing purple armor walked forward and shook Dream’s hand who hesitantly exchanged greetings.

“You must be Xisuma!” Tommy yelled and Dream refrained from dragging the younger through the portal.

Xisuma chuckled but looked at Tommy more closely and his eyes widened.

“You're our human teammate!” Tommy frowned but shook his hand as Grian stepped forward.

“Names Grian! Nice to meet you Tommy! This bloke is Mumbo!” Grian pushed Mumbo forward and he winked as Tommy nervously said hello.

“Sorry but Tommy isn't anyone's teammate. ” The trio looked confused and looked up at the teams where Tommy’s name glinted in gold next to theirs.

“I’m confused, how is Tommy not our teammate?” Grian said slowly.

“He’s human!” Tommy rolled his eyes and yanked his arm out of Dream’s grip.

Xisuma’s hands tightened at the movement. “And?”

“This is a competition for hybrids only!” Dream shouted, his anger boiling over. He flicked out his claws and grabbed Tommy’s arm tightly, dragging him past the three and was about to enter the portal when it disappeared.

Tommy was yanked from his grasp and pushed behind Xisuma who flared out his wings that were black as the night sky and had small white dots like stars. Dream growled and reached for Tommy again who backed away.

“Why did the clock stop?” He looked upward at the decision dome at the timer that was frozen at 1 minute.

A wave of vertigo washed over him and Dream knew he was being teleported. A flash of purple particles clouded his version and he whirled around, surrounded by unfamiliar people and in the middle of a room.

His gaze locked onto a man standing a few feet away and hissed, tail lashing. All the people's names were in bright red letters and they glared at him with angry expressions.

“Hello Dream. May I ask why the boy from your server has a blocker on his code?” The man asked, walking forward. His tail drifting from side to side with ears pinned against his head.

“Who the fuck are you?!” Dream yelled, taking a step backward as the man approached.

“The name’s Scott Major. Creator and protector of anyone who plays in MCC so mind your tongue.”

“I won’t ask again. Why does Tommy have a blocker?” Scott stated, eyes flashing along with his white fur that now had streaks of blue.

“I don’t know.”

“Yes you do. I see all the code when people enter this server and Tommy is definitely not human.”

Dream’s ears flicked to the side as Scott walked around him in a circle, his admins hovering around a couple feet away.

“I have no idea.”

“For a fighter with a four game streak you sure are defiant.” Scott drawled as his hands glowed green, he pulled up Tommy’s code and tapped on the chains as the green string fought against the blockers now flashing white and yellow at a fast pace. ‘

“My admins are destroying your blockers. Tommy’s code will be free in less than a minute.” Dream watched in horror as his red chains were being eaten away by a swarm of green code.

Scott disappeared in a flash of purple light and Dream was whisked away with him. He stood up wobbly before the decision dome where a crowd was gathered around Tommy who was unconscious.

Tommy surged upward, gasping for breath as his body convulsed. Small horns popped up from under his blond hair and patches of skin hardened into yellow and white blobs. He flailed widely as his shoes slipped off his feet revealing hooves and a thin whip like tail sprouted from his back with yellow and white hairs on the tip.

“Tommy!”

“Let the kid breathe for Pete's sake!” Scott gently helped Tommy up as his admins pushed the crowd back and the timer for the decision dome went off causing many to leave the circle and run across the bridge.

Tommy whooped and jumped around, tail lashing through the air and almost hitting Scott in the process.

“I look fucking awesome Scott!” Scott smiled as the boy ran/jumped into the dome.

“Scott what just happened?” Xisuma asked once Tommy was out of earshot.

“Dream blocked his hybrid code.” he said bluntly, doughing Xisuma’s wings that unfurled with a snap.

“You. Did. What?” He growled at Dream who hissed back, both looked ready to kill until Grian pushed in between them, using his purple wings as a blocker and Mumbo grabbed dream, holding him back.

“No fighting!” Grian shouted as Scott turned to two admins who were invisible next to him and started giving orders. He messaged them silently while keeping a trained eye on Dream.

“I want you two to watch over Tommy.”

“Make sure Dream doesn't try anything.”

“You got it Scott.” Now relaxed he watched Epic landlord and Noxite float away into the dome after Tommy.

“Look Dream I can’t take you out due to disrupting the teams and stopping the competition. So you will still play.”

“But.” Scott stalked up to the man now grinning in a mixture of glee and anger. He grabbed Dream’s hoodie and pulled him forward extending a claw to barely touch the pumping artery of his neck.

“If you try anything with Tommy I will kill you and ban you from this server and your own forever. ” He snarled, teeth changing into fangs for a split second.

Dream hastily nodded and dashed into the dome as soon as Scott released his hoodie.

“You guys should go. Watch over him.” Xisuma nodded and soared upward with Grian and Mumbo, all three dived through the entrance that shut with a clang.

“Time for the games to begin.” Scott muttered, teleporting into the box as the first game started.

Hole in the wall.

Chapter Text

Needless to say Tommy excelled in the first round. At first he had to stop staring at the floating heads of the admins that floated above them and almost fell over the side of the platform.

He jumped as a loud buzzer went off and the walls roared to life.

¨Green!¨ Tommy shouted as the wall moved forward toward them. All three of his teammates flew up and performed a tight corkscrew through the holes, landing on the other side with no problem.

He dodged bodys as the wall moved closer and jumped through a big enough hole, landing on the other side with a thump. If it wasn't for Grian´s quick reflexes Tommy would have rolled right off the platform into the churning water below.

¨Blue!¨ Xisuma yelled as the wall beared down on them and Tommy jumped through. He panicked as his hoof lowered, catching on the other side causing his body to get stuck.

Tommy twisted as the wall moved over the platform and now dangled over the water with him still stuck.

¨Help!¨ Dream smiled under his mask and took a running leap at the moving wall, extending his claws that sunk into the squishy block he climbed to where Tommy was dangling and moved his foot.

¨Thanks Dre-¨ Tommy was cut off as the man grabbed his arms and performed a backflip landing on the edge of the platform. The buzzer announced another death as players looked down from above watching the spectacle.

¨Uhh Dream you can let go now?¨ Tommy asked nervously as Dream´s claws dug into his wrists tighter. His eyes widened as Dream released his wrist and gave him a gentle shove, that pushed him over the edge.

Tommy screamed as he fell, hitting the water and immediately respawning. He moved shakly over to the benches and watched the game end. He was dimly aware of the group of admins floating around him, all wearing murderous faces.

But he put up a smile and watched as Grian dived through a wall, accidentally forcing George to douge out of the way, running straight over the side. A splash and the buzzer announced his death and Tommy watched his team name rise with points.

Soon only Xisuma and Mumbo were left with Sapnap, Dream and Techno. Grian immediately respawned and sat next to him, cheering as Sapnaps claws caught on the wall and he was dragged over the side, Dream tried to grab his tail but Sapnap plunged into the water as the wall disappeared.

Techno was just trying to survive while Xisuma and Mumbo were trying to get Dream out, blocking the wall till the last second and dive bombing the man.

Tommy hissed and winced as Mumbo tried to corkscrew through a hole but Dream twisted himself through it first, causing the man to go for a smaller hole. The crowd roared in laughter as Mumbo bounced off the wall, misguging the entrance and flew over the side straight into the water.

Xisuma shook his head and turned his attention on Dream once more as the walls sped up, nearing an impossible speed. Phil and Wilbur cheered techno on as the pig hybrid jumped through a hole, followed by Dream who froze as xisuma dived through, crashing into the duo and forcing Techno to fall over the edge.

Xisuma flapped his wings and pushed harder against Dream who hissed angrily. But it was to no avail and Dream´s feet slipped, Xisuma watched with a smirk as the man fell, howling.

¨And we have a winner! Xisuma from the pink parrots who are taking 5th place! ¨

Tommy and Grian cheered from above as gold confetti burst from the walls and darkness covered their vision.

They all awoke back outside the bridge with the timer counting down.

¨It says find candy?¨ Mumbo questioned, pointing to a small sign and looking curiously at a small basket in his hand.

¨I´m want some!¨ Tommy yelled, grinning as he clapped his hooves together and raced off, jumping up and down along the parkour and the beach.

¨Hmmm can't hurt to try!¨ Grian said, wrapping his wings around Xisuma and Mumbo who smiled.

¨I´M GONNA FIND MORE YOU FUCKERS!¨ Tommy screamed from the top of a statue and Grian smirked, taking to the air and flying straight at Tommy who screamed at the top of his lungs.

¨PUT ME DOWN!¨ Tommy shrieked as Grian grabbed his arms and hugged the boy tight against his chest, Tommy´s tail curled around his leg and Grian noted to be mindful of the almost invisible horns.

¨Look for candy!¨ Xisuma yelled grinning under his helmet as he carried a panicking Mumbo through the air.

¨I CAN FLY TOO YOU KNOW?!¨

¨SHUT UP THIS IS WAY MORE FUN!¨ Xisuma retorted and Mumbo screamed as the man performed a barrel roll before shooting straight for the ground.

4 minutes remained as Tommy sat in the middle of the circle with four bags full of candy.

¨I think we did good!¨ Grian chirped as Mumbo leaned against a palm tree, looking very nauseous.

They all went silent as the chat pinged.

¨TECHNOBLADE HAS BEEN CROWNED THE PUMPKIN KING!¨

¨Goddam-¨ Xisuma started as Grian groaned in defeat. Tommy jumped as a much larger basket appeared in a poof of green smoke next to him. Confused, he looked up at the floating heads of about five admins who were all staring down with grins, some trying to control their laughter.

Without a reason, or thought he grabbed the four bags of candy and dumped them into the much bigger bag, jumping as the last candy slid in and a firework of purple particles went off around him.

¨TOMMYINNIT HAS BEEN CROWNED THE PUMPKIN KING (fuck you Techno.)¨ Grian burst into laughter, howling at the small text and Mumbo weakly chuckled.

Tommy wiped tears from his eyes and looked up at the sky, the admins had vanished. The buzzer went off and the gate dropped. Tommy watched as the bags of candy disappeared and he rose from the ground, bouncing into the dome with his team trailing behind.

¨And the next game is Parkour warrior!¨

Chapter 4: Chapter 4

Summary:

Hehhehhhehhehhe

This one is long so have fun reading my dear readers!

Chapter Text

NOXITE= Phantom
EPICLANDLORD= Ghast
CHRIS= Shark
HARVEY= Spider
SKYE=Crow

Tommy stretched out his legs and yawned. The hot sun beamed down against his back as he gazed at the course behind lidded eyes.

It was larger, much larger than he thought it would be, jumps, ladders, slime blocks he felt a tad bit nervous.

¨Don´t stress, even if it's your first time go easy. Don't strain yourself either.¨ Tommy looked up at Mumbo who puffed out his black wings and rubbed a finger along his mustache.

¨How do you know?¨ Tommy asked and Mumbo shrugged, pointing at his tail that was currently tying itself into knots.

¨Stress.¨

¨Oh.¨

Both jumped as the buzzer went off and Tommy booked it, jumping off the island and kicking upward off the slime blocks. He went a bit higher than expected and jumped past the ladder, landing on planks and grinned as gold particles burst around him.

Ignoring the shouts from behind him Tommy kept running, a large smile spread across his face as he jumped from ledges and around panes of glass. The rest of the teams far behind him. Except for Dream.

Dream was his admin but he was fearful of him at times and especially now Tommy didn't feel safe as the man gained ground behind him. Xisuma, Mumbo and Grian were leading the group but were much further away from Dream, gliding over jumps and moving through holes.

Meanwhile a couple feet above Tommy´s head were the admins, watching the teen curiously as he held onto a ledge and groaned when he slipped, plummeting into the void only to respawn and take a running leap again.

¨He's so close!¨ Noxite said in disbelief, rubbing a transparent hand over his face.

¨At this pace he could be the youngest to ever win parkour warrior!¨

¨That is true but...¨ Chris trailed off as he took a quick glance between Tommy and Dream.

¨The kid seems nervous about something.¨

¨No kidding! He's so close to the throne and their team is 5th place!¨ Skye chirped, her black wings fluttered in the air as she circled around the group.

The group went silent as Tommy looked back once more only to make a mad dash across the beams and freeze at the bottom of the trapdoor ladder.

¨Why does he look so scared?¨ Harvey mumbled, her red eyes moved in multiple directions in search of a threat and her legs pawed at the air.

I dunno?¨ Chris rasped, snapping his mouth shut as he sniffed the air and turned away from Tommy to look back at the parkour track.

¨Uh guys?¨ He said nervously, causing many to shus him as they watched Tommy intently jump from trapdoor to trapdoor, slowly making his way up.

¨Guys?¨

¨Not now Chris! Where the hell is Epic? He needs to see this!¨ Chris´s hands formed fist´s at his teams cluelessness and his teeth grew larger as well as his fins.

¨GUYS!¨ His growl made the team quickly turn around and he pointed a grey hand at the oncoming green hoodie.

¨What the hell is he doing?!¨ Skye yelled, diving down a few feet above the ground.

¨Oh god...¨

¨He's not even doing the parkour.¨ Noxite muttered as Dream jumped from slab to slab, nowhere near where you were supposed to jump.

¨Harvey, what's the time.¨ Chris ordered.

¨They have 30 seconds left.¨

Chris cursed and the whole group jumped as fireworks exploded. They flew upward to see a laughing Tommy sitting on the throne. Skye breathed a sigh of relief as Tommy´s name popped up in chat.

¨TOMMYINNIT HAS TAKEN 1st PLACE!¨

The admins cheered in unison and soared upward to float above the throne, all talking a mile a minute if Tommy would win the next game.

They didn't notice a green hoodie drag itself up over the edge of the trapdoor ladder and streak toward Tommy in a flash of green until it was too late.

Dream stood, holding a kicking Tommy by his neck over the edge of the throne room entrance.

¨I will not let this little brat steal my title!¨ Tommy flinched and clawed at Dream´s hand in a desperate attempt to be let free. Skye started to dive toward Dream with an enchanted netherite sword in one hand when Dream cocked his head.

¨Oh you want to be let down?¨ He said in a playful tone and Tommy hurriedly nodded, smiling weakly as Dream released his grip, and Tommy plummeted.

He screamed, flipping through the sky and locked eyes with Dream who waved and pulled away from the edge as he fell farther and farther. Tommy squeezed his eyes shut as the ground grew closer and prepared to be a spot on the floor.

¨I got you!¨

Tommy's eyes snapped open just as he collided with a body.

The minute Epic got back from being AFK he knew something was wrong. He silently watched Tommy sit on the throne and smiled as the teen puffed up his chest as the chat pinged with his name.

That was until Dream pulled himself over the edge and ran toward Tommy in a flash. With horror Epic knew his team couldn't reach Tommy in time and decided to take action.

He quickly lifted his spectre gamemode making his skin change from a transparent silver to a flesh color with signature white scarred patches and flew toward the middle of the ladder as Tommy let out a high pitched scream.

¨I got you!¨ Epic yelled as Tommy collided into him. He was suddenly aware of both of them now falling to the ground at a much slower pace but still falling nevertheless.

In the heat of the moment he opened his admin commands and grabbed a string of code, hoping it was the right one as he pressed the purple string of numbers against Tommy´s chest.

Epic held onto Tommy tightly, trying to fly but the teens' weight still made them fall and he was growing tired.

Tommy gently shuddered and his eyes shot open, Epic breathed a sigh of relief and almost laughed at the expression of disbelief on his face before they shot upwards.

¨I can fly?¨ Tommy yelled, his fear quickly replaced with a giddiness as they landed back in the throne room where Dream sat, glaring at them with a low growl in his throat.

¨I gave you creative mode.¨ Epic said panting as he pulled out a golden apple and quickly ate it.

¨Who are you.¨ Dream hissed from across the room and Epic noticed his team had vanished, probably to go find Scott.

¨An admin, you Dream have violated the rules.¨

Dream snickered ¨No, I did nothing wrong, Tommy slipped and I tried to catch him.¨

¨That's not what I heard.¨ Epic exchanged a tired grin with Tommy who, like him, looked ready to collapse as a clawed hand gently landed on their shoulders.

¨A couple of little birds told me a different story.¨ Scott said, his head tilted to the side and his eyes flashed blue as multiple people appeared behind him, all holding netherite swords and glaring at Dream who now looked frightened.

¨Is everyone teleported back outside the dome?¨ Scott asked and Chris nodded.

¨Can I?¨ Epic pleaded, feeling adrenaline flood through his veins at the thought of fire. Scott rolled his eyes but released his grip.

¨Ah wait.¨ Epic groaned as Scott pulled up a chunk of code and tossed a purple string at him. Tommy watched in amazement as Epic started to float and his skin turned transparent.

¨You too!¨ A lady with black wings twirled around his head and handed him a similar string, Tommy stared at the glowing numbers before mimicking Epic and pushing it against his chest where it sank into his skin.

It felt different then the creative string of code, it was freezing making him shiver lightly. He watched as his skin slowly turned transparent and he floated upward, bobbing a couple inches above the ground.

¨I gave you spectre gamemode, the name´s Skye!¨ Still staring at his hands in awe Tommy weakly whispered thank you and the woman beamed.

¨Thank you Skye, you can walk through blocks, fly and now won't get hurt from the tnt Epic is about to set off. ¨ Scott drawled as Epic grinned and turned to Dream who was frozen in the throne.

¨goodbye!¨ Epic yelled, his hand flew upward and a wave of heat spread across the room. Scott tapped his foot and many of the admins behind him were barely breathing in excitement.

Dream finally realised what was about to happen and ran toward the entrance as a fireball formed in Epic´s hand and he threw it against the tnt.

Time seemed to slow as a chain reaction went off, sending Dream flying onto a netheract outcrop as parkour warrior blew up in an explosion of heat and smoke.

¨Whoooooo!¨ Many of the admins cheered as they bobbed upward in the sky watching the map be destroyed.

¨I always liked this map.¨ Noxite said grumbling as Chris shoved him to the side.

¨Well I didn´t! It sucked!¨ Tommy wheezed, flipping through the air and Scott drifted to his side.

¨I´m so sorry Tommy, I wish this never happened.¨ Tommy looked up at Scott with a sad smile.

¨It's fine, big man.¨ They floated in silence until the sound of arrows pierced through the roaring flames and they looked down.

¨Uhhhhh.¨ Tommy said, trying to hold in laughter as his tail whipped out behind him.

¨I´m not associated with them.¨ Scott said curtly but Tommy noticed his tail gently wag and his ears perked up as they watched the admins take shots with enchanted bows at Dream who was gripping onto the lone outcrop.

Scott groaned, rubbing his face as he pulled out a glowing pickaxe and pointed it at the outcrop that vanished in a poof of green smoke.

Tommy laughed, rubbing tears from his eyes along with the admins who were gasping for breath as Dream fell into void with a shout.

¨Come on, everyone is probably very confused.¨

Tommy blinked for a second and whipped his head around. He was standing back outside the dome with small crowds of people scattered everywhere all taking glances at the frozen clock that immediately started counting back down.

Cheers started up and Tommy took a wobbly seat on a nearby bench. Multiple flaps from wings made him look up and he jolted as arms wrapped around him.

¨Jeezus kid! Where the hell were you?¨ Xisuma said worriedly, checking over Tommy for injuries.

¨Well… DreamtriedtokillmeandIwassavedbyadmins.¨

¨I´m going to have a long talk with Dream.¨ Grian growled, agreeing with Mumbo.

Tommy gently pushed the trio away as the clock buzzed and he turned toward the decision dome.

¨Come on bitches! Lets go kill a green blob!¨ Grian burst into laughter and grabbed Tommy, pulling him into the air as they flew into the dome with Xisuma and Mumbo taking flight behind them.

¨Next up we have Ace race!¨

Chapter 5: Chapter 5

Summary:

If Grian, Mumbo and Xisuma start playing in MCC this is how I envision their plan during skyblockle 😂

Chapter Text

Tommy hated ace race with all his being, he was either falling off the track, crashing into a wall, or stuck in water during the laps. It took him 3 minutes to figure out how to use an elytra and a trident by terrible trial and error that boosted him back a couple places.

He was also well aware of the admins, who were either flipping through the air in fits of laughter or cheering him on and typing distractions to other players in chat.

As he flew through the air to a speed boost Phil passed him, grey wings flapping with strength and speed Tommy could never have and he frowned. Of course Chris spotted it and quickly pulled up his chat.

“Philza minecraft is terrible at ace race!” Of course that was a complete lie because Phil had won almost every race due to his amazing flying and endurance but Tommy didn't know that.

The teen almost fell out of the sky at the message and Phil gasped dramatically but still wore a large grin that quickly changed to a look of shock as he whipped his head up and crashed into a wall before falling into the void.

The admins laughed and Tommy snickered before throwing out his arm to be propelled by his trident over the finish line.

“You did great Tommy!” Grian yelled, smiling as he threw Tommy up into the sky before catching the teen who groaned.

“I did terribly, Grian. 15th place! 15TH PLACE!” Grian shrugged, still wearing a wide smile as they walked into the decision dome.

Xisuma noted a fuming Dream, stalking through the crowds and deterred the trio to another elevator as the votes went off.

“AND NEXT UP IS SKYBLOCKLE!”

Scott paced in the staff box, watching as Clint flicked on the teleporters to transfer the teams to the arena and pressed a red button, deleting all the chickens in the dome and resetting the different games.

“So what's on your mind?” Clint asked, not turning away from the control panel as his hands flashed along the buttons and levers.

“Dream’s planning something.”

“Hm... ”Clint knew of the kid´s problem with Dream and flicked through cameras placed along the skyblockle arena.

¨Well if Dream wants that kid dead so badly and doesn't care about the respawn then he will try to kill Tommy first during this game. ¨

¨Yeah that was what I was thinking. What should we do?¨ Both men jumped as the door to the room blew open and a woman walked through.

¨I have the perfect idea!¨ Scott groaned but beckoned Lauren over as the woman giggled and rubbed her claws together.

¨Well I for one think this is a perfect idea!¨ Clint stated, twirling in his chair as Scott handled the potions lightly, nodding.

¨Tell Chris, Noxite, Harvey, Skye, and Epic that they can take a break. Send out the second team for the next few games. ¨ He ordered and Clint nodded, pressing multiple buttons under people's names.

Within seconds the room was filled with admins, all glancing around in confusion.

¨What the hell Scott?!¨ Chris yelled, flexing his fins in anger as Skye pulled him back out the door.

¨He's just mad because Epic almost dunked him in lava.¨ Harvey said, also dragging out Epic who was fighting to pounce on Chris.

Scott raked his claws against the wall and sighed as Clint and Lauren snickered.

¨Well I'll get out of your hair!¨ Lauren yelled, grinning as she ran out of the room and Clint waved.

¨The team is ready with the potions. Starting skyblockle now.¨ A buzzer rang out as Clint slammed his hand against the largest button and people started moving in the cameras.

Tommy whipped his head up to look into the sky as the ghostly forms of the admins vanished. He shrugged and dove for a chest and pulled out an iron chestplate and a sword.

Mumo and Grian were mining the small tree and making weapons while Xisuma gathered their things and dived off the island to the enchanting table.

He quickly came back, arms full with glowing pieces of armor and swords that Grian took gratefully.

¨Alright let's do the same tactic we did last time!¨ Grian yelled over the sound of swords clanging and people bridging toward the middle.

Xisuma chuckled ¨I'm surprised they didn't ban us last time we did it.¨

¨What tactic?¨ Tommy asked instantly regretting his question as three pairs of gleeful eyes landed on him.

Suited up in enchanted armor the trio took flight and Tommy was left dangling helplessly from Mumbos grasp as they flew over the islands.

Grian dove out of the sky with a chilling shriek and grabbed onto confused players, yanking their weapons out of their grasp and shooting back up into the sky before promptly dropping them into the void.

Now Tommy knew why their tactic was so OP. He was having a fun time flying around until he felt Mumbo´s grip on his wrist slide.

¨Um Mumbo?¨ Tommy said nervously as he dropped another inch. The man didn't seem to hear him and kept flying over islands that slowly disintegrated by the oncoming wall of red particles.

In an effort to keep himself in the air Tommy wrapped his tail around Mumbo´s torso but the enchanted armor made his tail feel freezing so he let go.

As a last resort Tommy grabbed a ender pearl as he slipped from Mumbos grasp and chucked it in a random direction, hoping to land on stable ground.

He didn't however expect to land next to Dream who appeared to be fighting off invisible attackers.

Tommy stared at the man for a minute before bridging across the middle and forming a little hole for himself. He groaned when Dream noticed him and ate a golden apple before pulling out his iron sword.

Dream appeared to be running at him with a snail's pace, also taking random amounts of damage. Confused, Tommy started to whistle and turned his back as Dream slowly made his way over the bridge.

¨Dream you look like a snail.¨

Tommy relished in Dreams enraged scream as he placed down a bucket of lava and the man hissed as his body was lit up with flames. The slowness and harming potion appeared to wear off and Tommy moved backward as Dream drank a potion of fire resistance.

¨Why won't you stay dead!?¨ Dream shouted, pulling out an iron sword and charging. Tommy easily blocked the man´s blows and kicked out his hooves, sending Dream flying over the lava.

Invisible hands settled on his shoulders and Tommy looked down at the potion of harming that had appeared in his hand.

Without a second thought he threw the bottle with all his strength and the liquid coated Dream who hissed and flinched as he took damage but continued wading through the lava.

That was until the sky filled with dark clouds and the scent of rain that made all the hairs on Tommy´s body slowly rise.

He watched in surprise as a bolt of lighting roared down from the sky, striking Dream who let out a pain filled scream and fell, flailing over the edge.

¨That was awesome!¨ Tommy cheered as arms yanked him upward and he was flying once more now held tightly in Xisuma´s arms.

¨It appears the admins are on your side.¨ Tommy bobbed his head, a wide grin stretched across his face as the buzzer went off.

¨PINK PARROTS ARE THE WINNING TEAM THIS ROUND!¨

Xisuma flew up to Grian who was hovering above the middle and waving his arms around like a madman.

¨We won!¨ Grian yelled.¨I know!¨ Tommy retorted still running on adrenaline as he finally noticed the missing member of their team.

¨Where is Mumbo?¨ Grian snorted and waved his wing at Xisuma who took a keen interest in the ground.

Xisuma was cut off however as they were teleported back outside the dome that started to count down once more.

Tommy quickly noticed a winged figure in the distance that grew larger and larger. Xisuma had his back turned and Grian was trying very hard not to laugh, and at the last second yanked him out of Mumbo's way as the man tackled Xisuma, both fell to the ground in a pile of feathers and dust.

Mumbo poked his head up, spitting out feathers and dusting off his suit all the while glaring at Xisuma who was laughing.

¨The minute you slipped from my grasp! This man drove me into a wall!¨ Grian let out a hoot of laughter and fell to the ground while Tommy grabbed onto a nearby palm tree and wiped tears from his eyes.

¨THE NEXT GAME IS BUILDMART!¨

Multiple people cursed out loud as Chris teleported them with a smile.

¨We need to get rid of that game don't we.¨

Scott answered him with a tired snarl.

ARRAN= Creeper
JOE= Guardian
LOUSIE= avian
STUART= blaze
MARKUS= sheep (Lmao)

He really thought ace race was bad but nothing could compare to the horrors of buildmart. It was boring, stupid and annoying.

Tommy had to keep on his toes and instead of avoiding the holes that would open in the ground he would avoid Dream.

The masked man kept trying to push him into walls, off of ladders or into holes and it was getting annoying. Of course the admins kept him at bay, he noted the new faces that swirled around and sometimes Scott would join and happily send down a bolt of lightning.

Tommy rushed by a confused George who was staring at different blocks of wool with a hopeless expression and skidded to a halt.

¨Hey George!¨

¨Hey Tommy. Howś your build going?¨ George asked kindly, as Tommy rambled off about flowers and slabs.

¨Oh sorry. Do you need help?¨ Tommy asked curiously as George sighed and tapped a hand block of wool.

¨Can you tell me what color this is?¨

¨It´s green? Oh...¨

¨Yep, I'm yellow red colorbllind! Can you tell me where the blue wool is?¨ Tommy searched through his inventory and beamed when he pulled out a couple blocks of blue wool.

¨Here you go!¨ George smiled, stashing the blocks in his inventory and was about to turn around when Dream coughed.

¨George do you need help finding wool?¨ Tommy slowly backed away at the underlying tone of anger that George did not seem to hear.

¨Nah, Tommy helped me out. Oh right! Do you need any blocks Tommy?¨

¨Uh a rose, and some stone slabs.¨ George rummaged through his inventory and pulled out a rose and a stack of stone slabs that Tommy took gratefully.

¨Wait how can you tell that's a rose?¨ George winced and held up his finger that had a drop of blood that slowly slid down his hand.

¨Because it always pricks me.¨ With that George waved and jumped into his cart as Tommy ran back to the portal, grinning as the sound of a splash potion echoed behind him and a loud yell from Dream.

With a couple of misplaced blocks and 15 seconds left to the timer Tommy rearranged the flowers and the build disappeared in a flash of light.

Grian flew loops around their builds, he was the first to finish, Xisuma and Mumbo tied and Tommy was last.

¨AND PINK PARROTS HAVE WON AGAIN! SLIDING UP PAST ORANGE OCELOTS AND REGAINING 1ST PLACE! ¨

¨They are doing so well!¨ Lousie gushed, flipping and gliding in the walls as the rest of her team watched with matching smiles.

¨I know. I bet they will win this MCC.¨ Arran said as Stuart elbowed him in the gut, making him drift backwards out of the map.

An explosion went off, not phasing anyone as Arran flew back into place and pulled up his goggles, glaring at Stuart with red glowing eyes.

¨Knock it off you two.¨ Joe grumbled as they were teleported back outside the decision dome and the players scattered about.

¨It was all in good fun Joe!¨ Markus said, smiling as his tail lashed through the air. Joe rubbed his temples with his fingers and teleported away.

Meanwhile…

“Another one down!” Grian yelled, pulling Mumbo into a hug with Tommy in the middle as the three cheered in unison as the dome buzzer went off. Xisuma smiled from the side as they walked into the dome once more.

“Now we have the readers choose the next game!”

The choice is yours dear readers, comment what number of the game you would like to see in the next chapter!

1= survival games!
2= rocket spleef!
3= tgttosawaf!
4=battle box!

(I’m not doing Bingo but fast and sky battle because 1- the bingo round would be so short and it’s not that descriptive in writing. (I want the best for my readers :) 2- Sky blockle is almost the same to sky battle so writing about that would literally be the same:D)

Lmao Scott just summoning lighting to strike Dream during build mart has seared into my brain. (If someone can make fanart of that I will love you:)

If any of you would like to make fanart of my works that is ok and I can show it in upcoming chapters!

Chapter Text

To Tommy’s surprise he was dumped onto a glass platform with small grey wings attached to his back. Before he could regain his balance in the throng of people the glass disappeared and he fell.

Well technically he only fell a couple feet before gliding forward. Tommy opened his eyes and looked down, the gold and yellow blocks were a couple meters below and the sound of explosions blasted into his ears.

In one hand he held a shovel, curious Tommy waved it forward and a fireball shot out, destroying the ground and boosting him upward into the fray.

“Holy shit!” Tommy screamed as a grin spread across his face as he twirled in a circle, waving the shovel. Players surrounding him barely had a chance to dive away before they were knocked out of the sky by the flaming balls.

Tommy searched the sky for his team and gritted his teeth as a fireball grazed his side. He dived down to avoid another explosion aimed straight for him and he locked eyes with Dream who was flying past people, intent only on him.

Desperate to get away Tommy boosted upward, toward a group of players who were firing their shovels at one another.

He narrowly avoided being shot out of the sky by oncoming explosions and crashed into a person, the tip of his shovel tore through their elytra and they plummeted into the void. Gliding around, Tommy held in his breath at the rapidly disappearing ground, only small islands were left where players crouched, gripping onto their shovels for dear life.

He looked upward where the faint outlines of Xisuma, Grian and Mumbo were, battling off Phil and another player who was nervously circling the group.

Tommy cursed at his wingless back and glared at the elytra that ruffled in the wind. He realised in horror that he was diving toward the void at an alarming rate and pulled upward.

Stuck slowly gliding closer and closer toward the void he was about to unequip his elytra and just accept his loss when an island appeared below him. The void clawed at the gold and diamond blocks that were about to vanish but Tommy gripped his shovel and with both hands, pushed it forward.

A fireball filled his vision and all he felt was heat as the explosion went off, pushing him upward back to where the nonexistent ground was.

Flames licked his skin and his clothes were already being eaten away by the flames.

“Fuck I did that explosion to close to the ground.” Tommy dimly thought as the heat started to grow to an unbearable temperature. His head tilted to the side as his elytra broke with clank and gravity took hold, he was falling, with no elytra and on fire.

Managing to open his eyes wider Tommy’s mouth formed an O at the blurry sight of Dream who was heading straight for him.

He expected to die then and there as Dream grabbed his shovel and twisted his hand. He could tell the man was watching with a sick satisfaction as it vanished into the void.

Tommy was aware of Dream talking but he could only hear the annoying ringing in his ears as he turned his gaze away from Dream and back up into the sky where the small form of his team still was.

“We could win if they survive.” Tommy could feel his lips move as he said those words and Dream stiffened.

His eyes rolled back into his head as burning pain spread across his body and Tommy submitted to the pain as Dream let go of his shirt.

Tommy was unconscious, diving head first into the void but was promptly awakened as a hand gripped the back of his shirt and he was moving upward at a fast pace.

He slowly opened his eyes as hands patted the flames into wisps of smoke and the feeling of soft feathers surrounded him.

Tommy was being flown upward by Mumbo, who wrapped his wings tighter around the teen as he clutched onto him like a lifeline.

Before Tommy could fall unconscious again he heard an ear piercing shriek as a flash of purple shot down in front of him, followed by a streak of black, both heading straight for Dream.

Mumbo tightened his grip on Tommy who let out a small sigh and sank into his hold, the teens head lolled to the side as Mumbo flew upward and the older smiled grimly at the two men who were diving straight for Dream.

Dream, still alive and hanging onto a single block of gold whipped his head upward as an enraged shriek pierced the air. He could only watch in horror as a furious Grian and Xisuma tore through the sky. Both with matching expressions of fury.

Dream, instead of choosing to hold his ground, released his grip on the block with gritted teeth and fell toward the void. For a split second he saw the flicker of a white mask appear on both their faces before darkness covered his vision.

“PINK PARROTS HAVE WON AGAIN AND ARE KEEPING A TIGHT HOLD ON 1ST PLACE WITH ORANGE OCCULOTS ARE COMING IN AT A CLOSE SECOND!”

TOM= Zombie
MARKO= Bat
CHRIS LAMB= (There are two chris´s, this Chris is a sheep because… well because. The Chris earlier was Chris Norman who was a shark. I´m including all the people who worked on MCC:)

Everyone was teleported back to the dome and the Pink parrots were panicking seeing their youngest member vanish from their arms in a colorful explosion of rainbow particles.

¨Scottttttt! We have an injured kid!¨ Skye yelled, gliding down the hall with an unconscious Tommy in her arms.

¨I´ll take him down to medbay.¨ Joe replied from behind her causing the crow to let out a shriek in surprise. Joe just chuckled as he gently took Tommy from her grasp and started down the hall where he hit a corner and promptly halted, saving himself from walking into a very angry Scott.

¨Where. The. Hell. is. Dream.¨ Joe nervously smiled and waved his hand to the dome as Scott vanished in a blast of purple pixels.

Joe continued walking down the hall to stop outside a door with a bright red cross painted above the frame. ¨He's pissed isn't he.¨

Skye just shot him a grin. ¨yep! I do hope he doesn't kill anyone!¨

Joe rolled his eyes and snorted as he opened the door to be greeted by a towering green figure.

¨Hello Tom.¨

¨Hey Joe! Got another injured person?¨ Joe silently walked over to one of the many beds and placed down Tommy who was blinking awake.

Tom crouched down to study Tommy and traced a hand across an ugly burn that trailed up his arm. After a few minutes of awkward silence Joe coughed, eyeing another man who was hanging from the ceiling with large black leathery wings wrapped around his body.

¨Give me a few minutes to find a regeneration potion and he should be good to go!¨ Tom said cheerfully as he walked over to a row of chest and started ruffling through the stacks of potions.

Joe meanwhile pulled over a stool and sat next to Tommy who was now wide awake and staring at his surroundings with a confused expression.

¨Um, where am I?¨

¨Admins quarters, to be specific the medbay.¨ Joe replied, as Tommy took interest in the small orange spines poking from his skin that was a light shade of green.

¨You're a guardian?¨ Joe almost laughed at the teens dumbfounded expression.

¨Yeah. Tom over there is a zombie and Marko is a bat.¨ Tommy jumped as Marko who appeared to be sleeping unwrapped his wings and stretched them, almost hitting Tom in the process who was making his way over to Tommy.

¨Alright! 1 regen pot should do the job.¨ Without hesitation Tommy snatched the potion out of Tom´s hands and drowned it.

¨You better not choke, I hate cleaning up the bodies!¨ Marko said in a joking tone as he clambered down from the ceiling, black eyes twinkling as Tommy´s burns disappeared.

¨Come on let´s go, you still have a game to win and your team is frantic to find you.¨ All heads whipped to the door where a grinning Epic stood next to Skye.

After saying goodbyes Tommy was led away by Epic who teleported them outside the dome.

Epic audibly gulped as he gazed around at the chaos while Skye just stood, tapping her foot against the ground.

The crowd had formed a large circle around five people. Those five people were Xisuma, Grian, Mambo, and Scott. Dream was on his knees in the middle of the circle and hissing violently from under his mask.

It took Tommy a few seconds to realise that his team was holding Scott back who was snarling, teeth bared in rage as he clawed in Dream’s direction. His blue eyes practically glowed in the sunlight.

The minute Dream noticed Tommy however was when the already burning flames exploded as rage poured down like gasoline.

He blinked once and Dream was already flying through the air screaming in anger, his mask flew off showing blazing green eyes that were flickering with hatred. He braced for impact, tail winding tight in a circle but sighed in relief as Dream froze.

Xisuma had released Scott in an attempt to fly over in Tommy’s direction. Scott was now stalking toward Dream with a snarl etched on his face, his hand glowed a dark purple, mirroring the same tint surrounding Dream’s body.

Epic released a sigh and ruffled Tommy’s hair before walking over to help Scott who was still holding Dream frozen.

Tommy watched as Epic teleported somewhere before returning in seconds and whispered something to Scott who nodded and all three vanished in green particles.

Skye rolled her eyes but soared upward and gazed downward at the whispering crowd.

“DON’T WORRY EVERYONE THE GAMES WILL BE BACK SOON, WE RAN INTO SOME TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES!”

Many people groaned but soon the crowd dispersed back into small groups and everything went back to normal.

Tommy grunted as he was pulled into a tight hug and smiled as soft purple feathers enveloped his body.

“You nearly gave us a heart attack!” Grian said, a mixture of anger and panic as he scanned Tommy’s arms and relaxed at the nonexistent burns.

“Geez sorry Grian..” Tommy’s voice faltered as Xisuma and Mumbo popped up behind him and the events of the day finally came down on him “I’m so sorry.” He whispered as tears silently trailed down his eyes and he burrowed into their arms.

“None of this is your fault Tommy!” Xisuma said gently as he pulled the teen from Grian’s grasp who shot him an angry glare.

“Someone is jealous.” Tommy rasped, poking his head out from in between Xisuma’s wings, grinning at Grian who squawked in surprise before swiping at Mumbo who was trying to steal Tommy.

Xisuma watched with a smile that grew wider as Tommy whispered into his ear. While Grian and Mumbo stood, arguing about who Tommy liked the most; he grabbed the back of the teens shirt and shot up into the sky.

“He’s mine you two!” Tommy laughed in glee as Mumbo and Grian both froze and took off into the sky after them.

“Tommy! Don’t trust that man! He kills children!” Grian shouted and it only made him laugh harder.

“He worked on his base nonstop for three weeks! He’s a terrible person!” Mumbo added, as Grian rolled his eyes and boosted ahead, leaving Mumbo shouting faintly behind him.

Tommy yelped as Xisuma performed a dive with a corkscrew, snapping his wings open meters above the ground, gliding down safely.

“He’s a part of our group and that's enough.” Xisuma stated, smiling as Grian and Mumbo tackled them into a hug.

They all groaned in unison as the buzzer rang and trudged toward the dome, Grian dragged a hesitant Tommy along who caved at the man’s hand gliding through his hair, rubbing his horns each pass.

“AND NEXT UP BY CHOICE OF OUR VIEWERS IS….. SURVIVAL GAMES!”

Scott finally relaxed as Epic threw a coded lock on the bedrock cage that held an enraged Dream who quickly slunk to the corner of the room and closed his eyes. As they walked away, out of sight his hands glowed a dark purple and Dream slowly started to rip his way through the walls of code.

Using his own admin powers on another server could kill him, but either way he didn’t have a choice.

This MCC would either end with him dead, or with Tommy dead at his feet. He would do anything to get rid of that brat. Even if he had to kill himself in the process.

MARIUS= Dolphin
ADREJ= Magma cube
JACOB= Bear
CHRIS LAMB=Sheep

(I´m choosing random creatures, don´t kill me!!!)

Stationed outside Dream´s bedrock cell were four men, all crowded around a small screen watching the teams fight in survival games.

¨Where's that kid everyone is talking about?¨ Marius asked curiously as Jacob swiped a hand, flipping through the other admins perspectives.

¨I don´t know! It's like they vanished!¨ Jacob cried, practically sitting on the edge of his nonexistent seat.

Dream listened to their cheers and his rage flickered to life once more as the admins talked about his team that only consisted of George and Sapnap.

His hands glowed brighter, now the dark purple flickered with green strings and a faint ting of red.

Meanwhile in survival games….

Tommy stood in the middle of the silent street, armed with nothing but a couple snowballs and an iron axe. He hid his trembling legs and started strutting down the road, banging his axe against an abandoned car.

The loud sound made his tail wiggle as it echoed between the buildings and he felt a small drop of sweat roll down his face.

Tommy was pretty sure he faded a few shades of yellow as a team of players approached, all sporting pieces of iron armor and an array of weapons.

¨Oh it's a kid. ¨ Tommy rolled his eyes but took up a defensive stance as the group came closer. ¨Go to your team or whatever.¨

¨Oh fuck off!¨ Tommy growled, wincing as his voice cracked.

The leader of the group shot him a sympathetic look but started to raise his sword and Tommy realised with wide eyes that the blade was far too close to his liking. He held up his axe in an attempt to stop the blow as three shadows dove down from the top of the surrounding buildings.

The leader sniffed the air and whipped his head up, pupils dilating as a hand grabbed the back of his chestplate and yanked him into the sky.

Tommy watched with a grin as Mumbo tossed the screaming player into the border where he exploded in a dazzling array of golden particles.

He dashed into the fray, striking any player who got close and within minutes was surrounded by explosion after explosion of gold.

Krinios died by [the intentional red wall of death]

Shubble tried to escape Xisumavoid but failed

The_Eret tried to escape Tommyinnit

Fundy tried to escape Tommyinnit but failed

Tommy released an angry snort and stomped toward Grian who raised his hands with a grin.

¨YOU USED ME AS BAIT!¨

¨Now, now. I wouldn't call you bait! More of… A friendly distraction!¨ Grian chirped and Tommy saw red. He was inches away from impaling his small horns into Grian´s stomach when a gloved hand gently ran through his hair.

¨Come on, let's go distract other people.¨ Xisuma said cheerfully while Tommy slowly turned into a puddle next to him.

Xisuma removed his hand and Tommy flushed light red as a faint whine slipped from his throat.

He froze in embarrassment as Grian´s face changed from determined to shining with excitement.
¨Tommy...¨ Grian started, his wings flaring upward. Tommy, meanwhile, was staring past his wings and at the top of a building. The glint of silver flashed in the sunlight and he pushed Grian to the side.

Time seemed to slow down as Grian fell to the ground, rising up in seconds. Tommy grinned weakly as the arrow pierced his shoulder and he staggered forward, clutching onto the nearest person that happened to be Mumbo.

Grian's smile changed to a look of calm hatred as he shot upward and pulled out his own bow. The thunk of an arrow pierced the tense silence and the group watched as a man fell, red and gold robes fluttering out behind him and his sunglasses shattered before the man's body touched the ground, exploding in a loud bang of gold.

Captainsparklez tried to escape Grian´s wrath

¨Mumbo, hand me a regen pot.¨ Xisuma ordered as Grian dove off the side and landed at his feet.

Mumbo silently handed Xisuma a regeneration potion as he struggled to hold Tommy up who was clutching his shoulder, he shrieked as Xisuma pulled out the arrow with a sickening squelch.

¨You'll be alright.¨ Mumbo muttered into his ear as the burning pain subsided into a dull throb and Tommy watched as his skin slowly reformed and the blood sank into his skin.

Tommy gently moved his shoulder in a small circle, letting out a pleased huff when no pain hit him. He felt jittery, adrenaline had spiked his system and now Tommy felt like he could do anything.

He took a deep breath and grabbed his axe, raising it into the air. ¨Let's go kill some fuckers!¨

Mumbo and Xisuma chuckled and both shot up into the air, wind blew around him ruffling up his hair and making Tommy's tail lash out behind him. He yelped as Grian pulled him upward, pursiting the others into the sky.

Tommy was shooting people below when Grian screamed. He felt blood soak into his shirt and looked up at Grian who was growing pale.

¨Goo-d Luck T-ommy.¨ Grian whispered as he exploded in a flash of gold particles.

Tommy screamed in horror at the gold flakes and the diamond sword that shot down to the ground. He twisted his head to watch the sword be plucked out of the air by Techno who was flying with the help of a man dressed in yellow and brown.

It took Tommy seconds to aim his bow as he fell to the ground and shoot a terribly aimed arrow at the duo.

He grinned happily as the man in yellow let out a scream and folded his wings, one bleeding profusely staining the mustard yellow a dark red.

He hit the ground with a smile.

¨WOW! PINK PARROTS WON AGAIN! CLINGING ONTO THEIR 1ST PLACE SPOT WITH THE ORANGE OCCULOTS SLOWLY GAINING BEHIND THEM! ¨

George stood awkwardly, shifting from side to side outside the dome as the familiar headband of Sapnap bobbed through the crowd. The two stared in silence at each other until Sapnap took a running leap and tackled him.

WHY THE HELL DID YOU THINK IT WOULD BE GOOD TO SLEEP IN A BED DURING THE GAME!?¨

¨I´m sorry, I was tired!¨

¨TIRED!? IF YOU DIDN'T SLEEP AND INSTEAD KILLED XISUMA WE COULD OF WON!¨

¨Well we managed to keep second without Dream! And if we win battle box, and sands of time! Then… We could do dogebolt and maybe win.¨”George huffed, pushing Sapnap off and rising to his feet.

Sapnap paused ¨Wait your right! I mean against´s Tommy´s team we could have a slim chance, with Dream or not.¨

¨Where is he anyway?¨ George questioned as Sapnap shrugged.

¨I think Scott said he was sick so that's why he's not playing.¨

¨Oh.¨ Both jumped as the buzzer rang and the bridge dropped with a thud.

Sapnap grinned in excitement and George groaned as the man dragged him in.

¨NEXT UP WE HAVE BATTLE BOX!¨

Chapter Text

Battle box went smoothly. It was a bit hard due to the enclosed space for Tommy´s team so he had to carry most of the time with Xisuma, Mumbo and Grian guarding him.

They still held onto first place Tommy noted as he stared intently at the board as the buzzer rang once more. Apparently the next game was sands of time and had something to do with dungeons and sand.

¨Alright, find sand, get coins, if you find a key look for the matching colored vault.¨Xisuma ordered ¨Now go!¨

Mumbo and Grian flew down different hallways and Xisuma vanished, leaving Tommy to run down a brightly lit hallway that quickly grew dark.

He froze at the sound of rattling bones and moans from zombies as he slowly turned down a corridor.

It was dark, dark enough that Tommy had to blink to make sure he wasn't blind. He staggered around and sighed in relief as his hand came in contact with a chest. The old wood creaked loudly and Tommy hurriedly pulled out an iron sword as the rattling of bones grew louder.

The loud whoosh of an arrow shooting through the air made his adrenaline spike and Tommy pushed upward, jumping high enough to climb onto the dusty wooden rafters. Twisting his head backward Tommy watched as the glint of a metal arrowhead shone through the darkness and embedded itself in the nearby wall, inches away from where he was standing.

Tommy grinned as the pale white bones of a skeleton finally came into view and he jumped down from the rafters, thrusting his sword down and embedded it into the monster's skull. He pulled out the sword and looted the room, stepping on a blue key in the process.

Now armed and with a vault key Tommy proceeded to be a whirlwind of destruction. He killed any monster that came close and grabbed as much money as he could find.

¨So who has the blue vault key?¨ Mumbo asked and Tommy handed it over, hair askew and sand covering his clothes. Grian dusted him off with a wing that was now a light shade of purple due to the amount of dust.

The group exchanged keys and took off once more. Tommy opened the green vault and the buzzer rang, signaling the end of the game.

They were teleported outside a cage and Mumbo was panicking.

¨Did all of us unlock the vaults at the same time?¨ Grian shrugged and proceeded to drag Tommy closer to the cage where the people from the game earlier stood.

¨Aye Phil!¨ Grian yelled, waving his hands to get the olders attention and the robed avian smiled but slid off the wall and moved to stand before them.

¨Good job winning.¨ Phil said kindly as Grian puffed up his feathers and smirked.

¨Who´s the little one?¨ Tommy scrowled, shooting the man a frown.

¨This is Tommy from the dreamSMP.¨

¨Hello.¨ Tommy said bluntly, sticking his hand through the bars and shook hands with Phil who waved two other people over.

¨These are my two sons´s, Wilbur and Techno!¨ Tommy nervously waved as Wilbur glared at him and Techno just stood silent, radiating amusement.

Grian looked between Wilbur and Tommy in confusion and Wilbur broke the silence with a scathing glare.

¨You're the little gremlin who shot me!¨ Wilbur hissed, wings snapping open and filling the cage with a mixture of bright and dark yellow feathers.

Techno let out a low chuckle and Grian wheezed while Phil rubbed a hand over his face.

¨Eh, sorry?¨ Tommy said apologetically, and jumped backward as Wilbur shot a hand through the metal bars, missing the front of his shirt by an inch.

Phil huffed and swatted Wilbur away with his grey wings as the avian stalked to the other side of the cage and slid to the ground with a thump. Tommy could still feel the man's glare pierce through the cage and he shuddered.

¨Sorry about that, he needs anger management classes.¨ Phil said tiredly, grinning as a low hiss emitted from behind him. Techno rumbled in amusement again but pointed toward the board.

¨It looks like your team is winning.¨ Grian nodded and stared up into the sky as the buzzer rang once more.

¨Good luck!¨ Phil yelled happily over the sound of fireworks as they were teleported, not into the dome but instead into an arena.

¨AND WELCOME EVERYONE TO THE DOUGEBOLT ARENA! WELCOME OUR TWO TEAMS. THE PINK PARROTS AND THE ORANGE OCCULOTS! THE GAME WILL COMMENCE IN FIVE MINUTES!¨

Tommy gazed around in awe at the vast amount of players who had different colored flags. The majority had pink but some had orange and were either sitting or standing. Some looked down at the arena from the edge of their seats in excitement.

He noticed on either side were a section of chairs cut off from the regular sitting area and grinned as groups of red lettered players appeared in poofs of purple smoke, laughing and chatting before sitting down.

He could easily spot Scott who was sitting next to another man who looked like a squid hybrid. Both looked to be in an intense conversation, shooting nervous glances at the team names hovering above the arena.

An intense wave of dizziness almost knocked him over and Tommy stumbled to the ground, only to be held by the back of his shirt by Mumbo who chuckled as he scrambled back onto his feet. A grin spread across his face as the cheers of onlookers overwhelmed the loud ringing of the buzzer.

“LET THE MATCH BEGIN!”

Meanwhile underneath the decision dome the group of guarding admins went silent as they peered at the small tablet as the new match started. They were the only admins left under the dome, guarding Dream.

Jacob barely noticed the creeping cold until it was too late.

A shockwave rippled through the air, knocking everyone underneath the dome unconscious as an explosion tore through the ground.

A clawed hand grasped tightly onto the crumbling bedrock wall. Instead of light yellow fur, tufts of bright red emerged from the darkness. The wavering shadow danced in the light of the flames as he stepped around the bodies of the admins.

They were alive, knocked out unfortunately but Dream didn’t care as he calmly walked toward the exit into the glaring sunlight.

His eyes flashed red under his mask that was now cracked in several places, the white ceramic was peeling off, covering his green sweatshirt in flakes.

Dream tilted his head at the sound of a cheering crowd and he snarled, his fangs grew longer and his claws extended. In a flash of red and green he was nothing but a blur as he scaled the dome's walls and disappeared over the edge.

Toward the dogebolt arena.

Chapter Text

Harsh breaths escaped out from Tommy’s lungs as he rolled to the side, an arrow piercing the wall where he once stood and he shuffled forward as the edge of the platform blinked a bright red before cracking off.

He gulped, watching as the pieces fell into the churning lava below and melted. He whipped his head around at the snap of a bow string and watched with wide eyes as George raised his hands in a feeble attempt to stop the metal tipped arrow that sunk into his stomach with a loud thunk.

The crowd roared as George disappeared in a poof of smoke managed to grow louder as Grian flared his wings and punched his fist up into the air. The avian had little time to dodge as a loud shout from Xisuma cut off his celebration.

Mumbo tackled Grian as Sapnap shot an arrow, clipping the end of Grian’s feather as the two crashed to the ground.

Tommy froze as the small purple fragments floated through the air and landed his gaze on Sapnap who stood, chest heaving with sweat covering his body. He shivered as the man’s fiery eyes locked onto his and took a step backward.

Sapnap cocked his head to the side as a manic grin spread across his face.

An arrow popped up in the middle of the platform and Tommy took a running leap. He grabbed the arrow in one hand, hissing as the sharp metal tip bit into his palm.

All the admins winced as a thin stream of blood formed around the arrowhead and droplets of red fell to the ground.

Tommy cocked the arrow with a bleeding hand and aimed it at Sapnap who waved his bow in the air, grinning playfully.

He growled in frustration as the man dropped into a crouch at the last second, the arrow whizzing past his black hair and bouncing harmlessly against the wall before falling into the bubbling lava.

The crowd fell into tense silence as Sapnap drew back his arrow. Out of the corner of his eye Tommy noticed Xisuma edging toward him, arms slowly extending. A faint sigh of relief slipped through his lips at the notion that Xisuma would be ready to grab him at a moment's notice of an oncoming arrow.

He stiffened as Sapnap’s bow turned to face him, the glint of the arrow filled his vision as the man crackled, drawing a finger in a circle against the tip where it promptly burst into a mixture of red and orange flames.

Xisuma's shout rang in his ears as Sapnap prepared to shoot the arrow. Tommy bent his knees, his hooves planted firmly against the ground as he prepared to jump into the air to avoid the flaming bullet.

But Sapnap’s ear flicked to the side, followed by his bow that swung to point at the middle of the platform where Mumbo stood next to Grian.

The arrow was released with a loud twang and the air was filled with a mixture of shouts and yells.

Tommy stumbled backward as Xisuma crashed into him, the smell of burning fabric permeated the air and he quickly checked Xisuma who groaned and clutched his head but seemed to have no injuries.

A choked cough from Mumbo broke the tense atmosphere as Xisuma whirled to look at the man who was being engulfed by flames.

The arrow had pierced his neck, burning all flesh, clothes and feathers. Mumbo slowly raised his hand and formed a shaky thumbs up.

“Give him hell for me.” With that the man disappeared in a poof of smoke and Sapnap cheered from his spot on the platform.

He was silenced however by the three glowing pairs of eyes that shimmered in rage. But relaxed as large grins spread across their faces.

A loud cheer from the crowd took both teams' attention as they looked up at two figures waving from their spot against the railing.

It was George and Mumbo, both standing with their arms slung over opposite shoulders and looking like best friends.

Sapnap shook his head with an exasperated sigh but his wagging tail and flicking ears gave away his feelings. Tommy shot George the middle finger and grinned as the man released a faint squawk.

Grian let out a sigh of relief but the team’s small slice of peace was quickly blasted away as an arrow popped up in the middle of the platform once more.

Xisuma shot forward, propelling his weight using his wings and grabbed it, the bow creaked as the arrow was knocked in record time and the air whistled as Sapnap dropped to the ground, doging it by an inch.

Tommy huffed in annoyance, his tail lashed out behind him, hitting Grian in the face making the man snap out his wing, almost knocking the teen over.

“Let's finish this!” Grian yelled as the platform shrunk once more and Sapnap grabbed an arrow, lighting it on fire and shooting it at them.

The arrow shot toward them but stopped halfway. Tommy blinked at the flaming arrow that hovered in the air, even the flames stopped blowing and Sapnaps confused look gave no explanation to what was happening.

A flash of red shot toward the arrow and Tommy flinched as a wave of wind almost blew him backward, off the platform. He was saved by Grian who curled his wing around him, the older was stiff as a board as harsh wind threatened to knock them over.

The crowd, who were screaming in joy a few seconds earlier were now silent, staring down at the two teams in confusion and hints of fear.

Tommy, who had tightly clenched his eyes shut at the start of the winds blinked them open. His jaw dropped to the ground at the wave of power wafting off the man who stood before them, holding the flaming arrow in a clawed hand.

It was Dream, it had to be. He scanned the red fur and green hoodie and felt his stomach sink to the floor as the man slowly turned his head, revealing the cracked porcelain mask and a glaring red eye.

“Sorry I was late, lets win this game.” Dream’s voice echoed throughout the arena, it was a mixture of pure hate, spite and a hint of boredom.

Sapnap nervously grinned but slowly backed away from Dream who was knocking the arrow into an enchanted bow that appeared in his hand.

“DREAM!” The thunderous shout from Scott sent the audience running out of the stands and toward the dome out of fear.

“Don’t interfere Scott, I will win this no matter what!” Dream shouted, sounding unhinged as his eye flashed red and Scott flew backward as a red sphere formed around the platform, blocking all the admins who flew forward and started banging against the sphere.

“Let’s play.” Dream hissed, his face twisting to a look of glee underneath his mask as he released the arrow.

Chapter Text

Tommy jerked to the side as a flash of heat shot by. The flaming arrow embedded into the wall with a thud and he watched in a mixture of horror and amazement as large cracks slowly creeped around the small crater.

The sound of another arrow flying through the air brought Tommy out of his mind consuming panic as red sweatered arms yanked him into the sky. He looked up at Grian who was hovering in the air, arms tightly clenched around his shoulders to keep him from falling to his death.

Nevermind, he would only fall a few meters but it would hurt like a bitch.

Grian’s shaking made his eyes open wider and Tommy snapped out of his semi conscious state as another arrow shot by.

Grian had his arms full with Tommy so Xisuma took the lead, flipping through the air with his bow before returning with a barrage of arrows he collected during the match. Dream laughed and pulled out a stack of cobblestone, creating a small wall to hide behind.

Grian landed silently and deposited Tommy gently on the ground as Xisuma tossed him a small handful of arrows. They locked eyes for a split second, Tommy frowned at their odd communication but shrugged.

Xisuma took in a deep breath behind his visor and drew back an arrow. Grian mirrored his actions. Both stood like statues with a confused Tommy standing between them.

“Tommy, get behind us.” Xisuma ordered, his tone sent a freezing chill down Tommy’s spine and he shivered but slowly moved toward the edge of the decaying floor behind the two men.

His tail shot backward in a straight line as the air grew freezing cold, everyone's breaths inside the arena turned into wisps of fog and the heat from the lava could be barely felt despite the evident heat waves below.

Dream’s broken mask peeked around the cobblestone wall and another arrow flew by, Tommy flinched and closed his eyes but he opened them at the sound of the arrow burrowing into the wall and creating another array of cracks.

Dream had missed.

“He’s getting desperate.” Grian muttered, a smile evident on his face as Dream snarled from across the arena.

“I. Am. Not!”

Sapnap coughed from his spot between the two groups, the man looked torn from helping either side. Fluffy white ears were pinned down against his head and his tail dropped, dragging across the floor in nervous circles.

Dream paid him no attention and instead aimed another shot, this time at Xisuma.

The older sighed and drew back his arrow. The creeping cold grew tenfold and Tommy shuddered, watching in awe as white frost slowly spread across the floor. Dream also lowered his bow a fraction as he moved away from the approaching cold.

The dull banging of the admins fist and other weapons hitting the sphere grew faint. Tommy jerked his head up to look at the red sphere that was now covered in a thin layer of ice, blocking out most light and noise.

The crackling of a flame however drew his attention to Xisuma who still stood, feet planted firmly against the ground with his arrow drawn back till the tip of the feathers touched his visor.

He blinked to make sure the arrow and bow weren't a figment of his imagination but they weren't. Xisuma and Grian’s bows were shrouded in purple mist, the tip of the arrows glowed with a dark purple flame that lashed out in the air.

It was almost like the mist was a living entity. The two arrows shot forward at a fast speed that was unnatural for a wooden bow and whizzed through the air with no sound. Dream’s mask peeked out from behind the wall once more and the man hissed before ducking to the side to be shielded by the wall.

Grins spread across the faces of Tommy’s teammates as their eyes flashed purple.

The arrows fucking curved around the wall. They fucking curved.

A sickening squelch was followed by a scream as Dream emerged from the other side, a netherite chestplate fell out of his hand and rolled over the side of the platform into the lava as he fell to the ground.

“I-I mus-t-t wi-n.” Dream snarled between gasps as he heaved himself upward, his claws dug into the cobblestone wall as he swayed to the side, a bloodstain blooming around the shaft of one arrow that entered his shoulder.

The other arrow was lodged into the back of his thigh, purple flames vanished in dark plumes of smoke.

Sapnap stared at him in horror but made no attempt to help, instead he moved toward Grian who gently pushed him backward behind him.

Dream growled and pulled out something from his inventory that gleamed in the dim light.

¨Shoot it!¨ Grian howled, as Dream latched his fangs around the enchanted golden apple. Xisuma´s wings flared out in surprise as Dream tore through the apple at lighting speed. One clawed hand reached back to grip the shaft of the arrow embedded in his shoulder.

With a sharp tug and a squelch Dream drew out the arrow, he did the same for the other shaft in his thigh. The small holes in his sweatshirt showed no sign of any wound and Dream laughed as red particles danced around his body.

Tommy stiffened and drew in a sharp breath as Dream drew back an arrow but he froze as his mask unclipped.

Bright red eyes formed slits as they locked onto fearful electric blue irises. Dreamś's face was covered in small scars but what drew Tommy´s attention was the large scar stretching from across the man's face.

Dream let out a screech of anger as his mask slowly crumpled to dust before it hit the floor and he released the arrow as the tip glowed red hot. Time seemed to slow as the arrow trailed through the air toward Sapnap who watched the oncoming bullet with wide eyes.

Tommy didn't think as he pushed Grian aside and raced toward Sapnap who looked frozen. With a boost of desperation he pushed off the ground with his hooves and flew through the air as the arrowhead hit itś mark.

The arena was filled with a sickening crack and Dream broke down into bouts of laughter that bounced off the walls with a cold and harsh tone as Tommy fell to his knees.

Blood trickled down his head at an alarming rate so Tommy raised his hand to gently probe his soaked hair. He took in a sharp breath as his fingers glided over a stump of horn that gushed out blood.

¨I’m so lucky!¨ Dream shouted in glee as he waved around his bow.

Tommy slumped over into Sapnaps arms as the older caught him and gently propped him upward. He shuddered as his head throbbed and colors slowly mixed together in streaks of light.

Muffled conversation barely reached his ears as his hand stretched out blindly to grab onto something sharp.

Tommy felt his heart sink as he cradled the piece of his horn, covered in blood.

He passed out moments later.

---------------

Grian could only watch as a red hot arrow pierced Tommy´s head. At first he thought Dream had killed him but upon second glance at the end of the teen´s horn flying through the air he felt rage consume him.

Dream was wheezing, not out of exhaustion but from his round of laughter. Grian´s eyes narrowed and flashed purple as a white mask appeared over his face.

Dream stopped laughing for a split second as Grian vanished in a flash of purple particles and whirled around as a hand grabbed his neck.

¨HOW. DARE. YOU!¨ Grian snarled, his eyes swirling with hate from behind his mask. Dream could only let out choked words as his hold tightened. He clawed at Grian´s wrist in an effort to free himself.

Grian only chuckled as bloody lines appeared in his wrist, unfazed. His grin grew bigger as a flash of black and purple appeared behind Dream and he released his grip on the man´s throat.

Dream never hit the ground.

A whirlwind of purple and black surrounded Dream, shooting the man upward where he crashed into the sphere making red flakes drift down, covering the ground but the sphere still held. That purple and black whirlwind however was Xisuma, his face also covered in a white mask.

Dream fell back onto the ground where he rolled into a crouch, red blood spilled from his lips as another punch made his head snap backward and he groaned as a fist slammed into his stomach. His tail went rigid as the feeling of magic filled the arena.

Xisuma´s wings snapped open as he hovered a foot away from Dream and drew his hands up. Grian swooped to Sapnaps side and carried the two into the sky as the walls started to shake.

Sapnap cursed under his breath as Tommy shifted in his grasp, blood streaming down his head and staining his clothes red.

¨We need to get him out of here!¨ Sapnap shouted, twisting his head around at Grian who nodded.

¨I can't break the barrier on my own!¨ Grian said between gritted teeth as he banged a fist against the frost covered sphere.

¨Let me help.¨ Sapnap snarled, grinning as flames ignited in his palm.

¨It's not working!¨ Grian shouted as the flames bounced off.

The two stopped moving and whipped their heads to stare at Xisuma who let out a low growl at
Dream who was beaten and bloody. They watched as thin purple tendrils of smoke danced out of his hands and rushed toward the arrows sticking in the walls.

“What is he doing?” Grian smiled at the astonished look on Sapnaps face as the arrows blew out of the walls and shot toward Dream who howled and jumped upward.

---------

Tommy blinked awake, scrunching up his eyes in the dim sunlight and jolted as a scream rang out from below. He looked down to see multiple arrows slam into Dream all at once.

Dream crumpled to the floor with a gurgling scream, feathers poked out from the arrows that littered his body.

He shut his eyes as Xisuma snapped his fingers and the sound of tearing flesh etched into his ears.

Dream screamed again and his body fell over with a thud.

The sound of thunder reached their ears and Grian looked up at the barrier as it shattered into pieces.

Black wings covered his vision as Xisuma shielded them from the falling fragments. A burst of light and the sound of lighting came tenfold as a glowing white bolt shot down, hitting Dream.

“DREAM!” Sapnap sighed in relief as Scott floated down from within the beam of energy, pissed and ready to kill.

Chapter Text

Small spikes of pain drilled into Tommy's head and he moaned, rolling onto his side as the feeling of soft fabric lightly touched his fingers. He slowly opened his eyes but instantly regretted as blinding flashes of light seared his vision.

¨Turn down the lights Epic!¨

¨On it!¨ The lights dimmed from behind his eyelids and Tommy opened his eyes again to see a room filled with smiling faces.

¨Uh… hi?¨He smiled nervously as the room exploded with sentences and words he couldn't make out.

¨Everyone out!¨ A bristling Scott burst through the door, hair standing on end. The admins promptly left except for Tom and Marko who walked toward Tommy with arms full of potions.

¨Hello Tommy.¨ Tom said softly as he pulled up a chair for himself and Scott. Marko just stood, his ears flipping around the room.

¨They thought… with your permission and with the right amount of potions that they could… reattach your horn.¨ Tommy let an excited grin spread across his face and Marko chuckled.

¨Fuck yeah! Lets try it!¨

Scott clapped his hands and started to walk to the door when he stopped. ¨Don´t worry about Dream Tommy, I´ve already planned his punishment.¨ Tom waved him away playful as the two pulled out a glass vial filled with a dark purple liquid.

¨We added every drop of a health and regen potion we could find, but to balance out all the healing that would make your body explode from the amount we had to add a potion of harming and 2 drops of poison. ¨ Marko explained.

¨This is safe right?¨ Tommy asked, nervously eyeing the tray that carried his horn. ¨It should be.¨ Tom shrugged as he removed the heavy wad of cotton that was bandaged to his stump.

¨Good, the bleeding stopped.¨

¨Marko, potion.¨ Marko silently handed the vial and the piece of his horn. Tommy winced as the cold liquid seeped into the cracks of the stump and shuddered as small pins and needles started to bounce off his skin.

A small amount of weight was applied to his head as Marko pressed down and slid the other piece of horn into the right spot. Tom nodded and Marko removed his hands as the man quickly wrapped bandages around the crack.

¨You should be good!¨ Tom said brightly as he extended a hand to point at the door.

¨Marko can help you find your team.¨ Tommy slid out of the bed now exhilarated as he followed Marko out the door and into a hallway.

They walked in comfortable silence until they reached a door labeled exit in bright fluorescent letters.

Tommy hesitantly stepped out into the glaring sunlight and jumped as loud explosions rang out. With a quick glance at the red walls and the gleam of gold blocks far above their heads he could tell they were in the bottom of the dome.

A loud snap of leathery wings unfolding was the only warning he got as the thin dark brown membrane surrounded him. Marko’s rumbling laughter calmed his nerves as they flew upward into the sky.

Tommy gasped as plumes of smoke came into view as Marko hurtled over the edge of the dome and plummeted downward. He instinctively squeezed his eyes shut and wrapped his tail around Marko’s leg.

But he relaxed at the sound of Marko’s wings extending outward once more, singling their descent with a rush of wind and the feeling of hard ground beneath his feet.

Tommy opened his eyes and sighed in relief at the soft landing. He almost fell forward as he took a small step forward only to be tugged backward by an uncomfortable pull. He slowly turned around with a huff and quickly blushed a bright red in embarrassment.

Marko was trying to hold in his laughter at Tommy’s tail that was currently tightly wound around his leg.

“You saw nothing!” Tommy hissed as he quickly unwound his tail and stiffly turned, blocking his face with a hand.

His grin grew bigger as Marko’s muffled laughter grew louder. But their small slice of peace was broken as the sound of explosions and lighting grew louder.

“What is happening?” Tommy muttered under his breath as he started walking toward the sounds.

“Scott is not a happy man.” Marko said his tone was light but held a dangerous undertone that made small chills roll down Tommy’s spine.

They reached a small flight of stairs that would lead to the clearing in front of the dome where the portal and the minigames were. Marko groaned as the crater filled ground reached their eyes and Tommy felt his jaw drop.

“I told him not to destroy the map!”

Tommy weakly grinned at the large amount of destruction. The ground a few feet from where he was standing was destroyed, dropping off into a large crater that was filled with rubble and small fires that drenched the air in harsh smoke.

He edged closer, noticing the crowd of onlookers that were being held back by an invisible barrier that could only be made by the admins who were nowhere to be seen.

That was until a flash of red caught his eye above the crater. The smoke clouded his vision for a moment but he could make out the scattered group of red names, hovering in the sky.

He blinked once and the admins scattered, rushing through the air after an electric blue and white tinted blob that could only be Scott.

Tommy clenched his jaw tightly when a bolt of lightning ripped through the sky, striking another figure that was also flying through the air, scratch that. The red figure was falling straight toward the ground only to be buffeted back up by a flash of black.

Dream; Tommy could tell who was the red figure, let out a piercing scream as the bolt of lighting drove him into the ground. He could audibly hear the cracking of bones as the sharp smell of burning flesh and fur filled the air once more, mixing with the heavy scent of smoke that sent his stomach churning.

He could make out the flashing forms of Grian, Xisuma and Mumbo who were tearing through the sky. All three wore white masks that had small pointed ears but had a flat face apart from the small eye holes.

He gasped as the sky erupted into dark purple flames, forcing the admins and Scott to fly lower to avoid being burned. Mumbo landed next to Dream, who was splayed out lying face down in a small crater and made no movements as the man heaved him upward by the back of his trashed hoodie.

But Dream´s moment of unmoving stopped as the man whipped his head up.(Tommy thought the man broke his neck for a moment.) and turned to look directly at him.

Tommy made no movements as beads of sweat trickled down his head. He instead stared straight into the red eyes that swiveled to lock onto his. Black pupils dilated and eyes narrowed into slits. Mumbo proceeded to drop Dream and slam a foot down on his stomach.

But Dream didn't flinch.

And everything went to shit again.

Chapter Text

A clawed hand suddenly shot up, grabbing Mumbo´s foot and twisting it harshly causing the avian to grunt and shift his weight. Dream snarled and with less pressure on his chest, slithered out from under Mumbo and dashed straight toward Tommy.

Tommy stumbled backward as multiple admins shot out from behind him, many clutching swords but some rose into the air with glowing hands.

Fireballs erupted from their palms and carenned toward Dream who quickly dodged them all, only having one singe his ear. Netherite met diamond in sparks as swords clashed against each other, claws tore at flesh and metal cut skin while Dream fought his way through the crowd.

All it took was one misstep by Skye who tilted her wing to the side, revealing Tommy who stood meters away.

Dream roared, eyes flashing bright red as a shockwave burst from his body. Nearby electric bulbs exploded from the overflow of energy, the crowd was pushed backward, many holding their ground.

The fighting admins were thrown back, some with wings were able to shakly take to the sky before they hit the ground, others fell into the crater vanishing from view under the layer of smoke.

Tommy braced himself as the shockwave threatened to blow him backward. He panicked as his hooves slid across the wood and reached the edge of the stairs.

It felt like the world slowed for a moment. Tommy´s jaw opened a crack as his hoof slipped backward. His tail lashed out around him searching for a hold but found none. The floor came closer and closer to his face as a gust of wind blew a cloud of smoke forward, blocking his vision.

Tommy’s eyes widened slightly as two pinpricks of red appeared from within the smoke. It was like time unfroze, he dropped to the ground with a groan, his head banging against the ground with a thud.

He looked up a second time as a clawed hand shot out from the smoke, swiping where his head once was. Tommy rolled to the side and scrambled to run as a clawed hand reached out again and hooked into the back of his shirt.

A flash of light seared his vision as he turned his head. A small rumble was the only warning he got.

In a one panicked filled movement Tommy grabbed Dreams arm, unhooking the claw and pushed the man backward as he dove for the ground, near the edge of the crater.

A bolt of lightning ripped through the sky and struck Dream once more, sending Tommy flying over the crater. His moment of being airborne was halted however as Dream jumped, hovering meters above him with an insane grin etched on his face.

Just as a clawed fist was about to slam into his stomach a red sweater flashed behind Dream who whipped his head to the side, seconds too late.

Grian’s arm flickered with dark purple flames as he punched Dream who howled in pain as he plummeted downward, vanishing from view into the crater.

An angry hiss followed by a loud crunch made Tommy tilt his head to see Dream flying out of the smoke. Grian growled from above and shot down to punch Dream once more as the man pulled out a diamond sword.

Harsh breaths barely made their way out of Tommy’s lungs as his vision tunneled on the diamond sword that threatened to impale him as gravity took hold.

He let out a choked yelp as a hand pulled him upward, purple feathers clouded his vision as he looked up at a pissed Grian.

Dream fell back into the crater as the smoke finally cleared, revealing a pile of admins who were clutching their heads and glaring at him. Before anyone could stab the man Dream froze.

Tommy almost fainted as Scott slowly drifted down from the sky like an angel.

Yeah not an angel Tommy thought as he took one look at the blazing blue eyes that radiated anger. Dream let out a muffled yell, his eyes darted around locking onto Scott and Tommy swore the man paled to a sickly white.

“I have no words.” Scott said camly, his tone sounded relaxed but his body was emitting anger in waves, an anger that Tommy didn't want to endure.

“So you have 2 choices: You can go back to your server and never come back, or be cast into the void for eternity.” Dream shook his head rapidly at the second choice and Scott nodded, casting his eyes to glance at Xisuma who appeared out of nowhere.

“Sadly for you. You have no choice in the matter.” Xisuma hissed, flames danced around his skin and underneath his mask as they poured out into the crater.

A brief flash of light blinded Tommy’s vision and he blinked, now Dream stood frozen in the crater that was empty of people. The admins who were in the crater were now standing on the edge, looking down at Dream with grinning faces.

Scotts hands glowed purple, holding Dream into place as the flames slowly slid down the sharp walls and lapped at his feet. Dream’s eyes widened as the flames seemed to slowly pull him down.

Grian laughed as he set Tommy down and added his own flames that eagerly spilled down to swallow up Dream who was now frantically trying to escape.

He shivered as the red eye locked onto his once more before being encompassed in swirling purple flames.

The crowd went silent.

Scott coughed and waved the wisps of smoke away with a hand as he scrowled down at the crater and multiple explosions that littered the land.

“Looks like we need to do some construction.”

Grian wheezed and struggled to maintain his composure. Mumbo muttered something under his breath and kicked a rock into the crater as the flames vanished, leaving no trace of Dream.

“ALRIGHT! MCC IS OVER EVERYONE, PINK PARROTS HAVE WON! Now let me get some sleep.”

The crowd erupted into tense laughter as Scott hurriedly built a portal and quickly made his way over to the winning team.

“Tommy, are you alright?” Scott asked softly as the teen let out a shaky exhale, looking ready to drop to the floor.

“Uhhh… I suddenly feel very faint.”Tommy trailed off as he crumpled into Xisuma's arms and the avian looked down with a sad smile.

“He needs some rest. Also how did his horn reattach?” Scott’s eyes narrowed at the drooping swath of bandages that were wrapped around Tommy’s horn that showed no sign of a crack.

“That is a question for another day my friend. Take your crowns and leave before trouble finds you again.”

Mumbo saluted as four crowns appeared in poofs of smoke and landed on their heads.

“Wait. Is Dream really gone?” Xisuma nodded firmly at Scotts nervous question. Scott exhaled and turned to the setting sun.

“Good.”

The pink parrots made their way to the portal, letting the purple particles whisk them away.

-----------

“Will they be back?” Marko asked quietly, watching the team fade away as Scott stretched his arms and dragged his tail across the wood floor.

“Maybe.”

“Let's just focus on fixing the map for now. ”

Every admin in the vicinity of Scotts words groaned.

“Can we FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Get rid of built mart!” Chris yelled from his spot near the invisible barrier that vanished in a small glitch of purple, matching the glowing coming from his hands.

Scott said nothing as he dismantled the portal and clapped his hands.

“Let's get to work for the next MCC!”

“FUCK YOU SCOTT!”

________

Meanwhile…

¨Oh my god! He looks so cute!¨ Cleo gushed as she fluttered around Xisuma who carried Tommy up to Grian´s castle.

¨Cleo, can your excitement wait till the morning? Let Tommy get some rest.¨

Cleo groaned but quickly took one last look at the sleeping teen before letting out a squeal and flying away, probably to tell other hermits about the new arrival.

Xisuma neatly fixed up a small bedroom and gently placed Tommy down, he watched the small rise and fall of the teens chest and sighed in relief.

The ruffling of wings signaled Grian and Mumbo's arrival as the two flew through the hallway at breakneck speed and screeched to a halt outside the door.

Xisuma turned from Tommy´s bedside to watch the two struggle to pull themselves through the door. After a few minutes of curses and pulling on feathers Mumbo managed to tuck in his wings and squeeze through, almost falling onto the floor in the process.

¨How is he doing?¨ Mumbo asked quietly as he straightened out a few feathers and took up residence leaning on the wall.

¨Fine, apart from exhaustion.¨ The room fell into silence apart from the small cracks coming from the three ceramic masks that were still on the men's faces.

Xisuma blinked as harsh light from the sun pierced his eyes as his mask shattered into dust.

Grian jolted as his fell to the floor.

Mumbo quickly took his off and tossed it out the open window.

The three watched in silence as the dust swirled out into the open sky and vanished in a poof of purple smoke.

¨All in favor of killing Dream the next time we see him say aye.¨ Grian mumbled under his breath.

¨Aye.¨

¨Aye.¨

Xisuma chuckled as he moved to stare out the window at the setting sun that cast gold and yellow rays across the sky.

¨He won't return so don´t worry.¨ Xisuma said quietly

¨No one can escape the void.¨ Mumbo added.

Grian nodded as Xisuma closed the window and turned back to face them, determination radiated off of him in waves.

¨And if he does, we will stop him.¨

____________

Deep within the void something stirred.

Anger rolled off the creature in waves.

It called to the darkness.

And the dark answered.

White dust flew through the void, answering to the dark's call.

The creature accepted the gift.

The dust swarmed around the face that was a mixture of monster and man.

Hate had corrupted the poor soul, leeching onto the one emotion that had tainted the soul´s mind and body.

The void finally had a champion, a king.

A tattered green hoodie was pulled apart into strings, only to be remade into a long cloak that bellowed out behind, riding on invisible currents.

Small claws that were once hands grew larger, glinting in the dim light of the stars as the tips sharpened into small dart-like points.

A sharp claw erupted from the lashing tail, the inside was a swirling mixture of different shades of green and hints of yellow.

The dust obeyed the void's power and formed a mask around the creature's face, one that would bring death and destruction to servers alike.

Red eyes opened from behind the white ceramic circle that slowly shifted into place.

The void knew the mask wasn't perfect, the edges were cracked, the middle was split into different segments but it would suffice.

¨What. Is. Your. Goal?¨ The void growled, the stars dimmed to tiny pinpricks as the darkness surrounded the creature.

The creature looked up at the dim stars and the sea of darkness and answered.

¨To kill.¨

The void snarled and rattled in glee.

¨What. Is. Your. Name?¨

A smiling mouth opened from behind the cracked mask, revealing sharp fangs.

The creature hesitated, a name lingered in the back of its mind but it brushed it off.

¨Dream… DreamXD¨

The void led it´s new champion to a lone string of white.

¨Go, wreak havoc on the overworld. Destroy the worlds of light to let the darkness take over.¨

The cracked mask hissed in glee and a clawed hand grasped onto the string as white light enveloped the man.

He stepped out onto a block of gold.

Loud yelling and screams of joy met his ears as he looked down upon the hundreds of players that milled about, some diving into small pools others jumping on trampolines.

He looked up at the glaring gold blocky words that hovered above the players.

¨Hypixel.¨

¨This will be fun.¨

Chapter Text

Tubbo couldn’t breathe.

His lungs were on fire, his skin was blazing cold and he felt nothing as beads of sweat rolled down his body.

The blurry forms of George and Sapnap stood before him, watching with bated breath as the teen took the news about Tommy and Dream.

As they suspected, it didn’t go well.

A loud bleat was their only warning before Tubbo’s eyes glazed over and he slumped to the side, sliding straight for the floor.

Before both men could move from their chairs however, the sound of an enderman teleporting filled the room. Sapnap sighed in relief as Ranboo appeared next to Tubbo in a cloud of purple particles, catching the teen before he hit the ground.

They watched in silence as Ranboo rubbed a hand gently through Tubbo’s hair, caressing the small nubs of horn that poked through and trailed a hand down the goat hybrid's back before moving him upward back into the chair.

Ranboo snapped his fingers and George flinched as a small cup appeared before him in a cloud of purple. He stared at it for a moment before looking back up at the lanky teen with confusion.

Ranboo stared at him with no emotion before slapping a hand over his face in exasperation.

“Can you fill the cup up with water George?” Ranboo asked slowly, watching with a growing smile as George’s face slowly turned pink in embarrassment.

“Yeah, Yeah sorry.” George said sheepishly as he grabbed the cup and pressed the tips of his fingers against the rim, before letting out a small string of faint notes that wove into a short song.

Sapnap smirked as George handed the cup back to Ranboo, now filled with clear water. Ranboo whispered his thanks and pressed the glass to Tubbo’s lips. The teen was still silent but that only lasted for a second before he greedily started to drink.

Once Tubbo was done Ranboo released the extent of the damage. Half the water the teen drank and the other half was spilled onto his shirt.

“What do you mean Tommy’s gone!” Tubbo bleated, his eyes now a dark brown and wide open as George and Sapnap exchanged a nervous glance.

“We… have a lot to tell you.” George said hurriedly as Tubbo snorted and stamped his foot against the ground.

“Well you better hurry up then!”

“Well at least let me dry your shirt.” Sapnap started reaching his hand up to snap his fingers but Tubbo growled.

“I can do that later, tell. Me. what. Happened.”

“Fine.” The duo said in unison as they started to explain what went down during Mcc.

Once they were finished Tubbo was up and pacing, his hooves scrapped against the wood as he mumbled out sentences.

Ranboo was nervously watching from the corner before letting out a long sigh.

“Tubbo stop pacing.” Tubbo did not.

Ranboo rolled his eyes before moving his body to block Tubbo’s path, he barely moved as the teen walked into him and Ranboo grabbed his shoulders, shaking him.

“Tubbo, Dream is gone, Tommy is… Somewhere.”

“I know he is “Somewhere!” He could be dead! Starving! Or Dieing somewhere!” Tubbo shouted, ripping his body from Ranboos grasp and turned around to walk through the door.

“But he could be alive, Tubbo!” Ranboo called as Tubbo walked through the door onto the landing.

“Or he could be dead!” Tubbo retorted angrily, already halfway down the stairs of the mansion. Ranboo huffed and snapped his fingers, teleporting to Tubbo’s side.

“He’s alive Tubbo. I may have just joined this server but I know that Tommy’s alive!” Tubbo halted.

“Maybe… Maybe that’s it!” Ranboo cocked his head to the side, confused as Tubbo lit up like a lightbulb.

“Uh what?” George called from above them, him and Sapnap stood on the landing watching with matching faces of confusion.

“When the server sorta glitched due to Dream missing! The whitelisting code vanished for a few days and you and foolish joined!” Tubbo ranted excitedly “This has to mean something is going on in the hub!”

“And maybe Tommy is at the hub or he’s on another server!” Ranboo finished with twinkling eyes.

“Come on!” Tubbo bleated, grabbing his hand and launching himself down the remaining stairs in glee.

“Wait!”

“Where are you two going?” Sapnap yelled.

“To the hub!” Tubbo shouted in glee as Ranboo scooped him up, and the duo exploded into particles before they made it out the door.

Notes:

WOOOO We're back boys! And Girls and everyone under and apart of the LGBTQ community!

And we have Ranboo along with foolish who have joined the server!

In case your wondering why Ranboo doesn't have wings he can sheathe them into his back where there are a patch of black and white scales that serve as a covering. (Pretty cool am I right!) And he can teleport!

I also wanted to go a little deeper with the hybrid powers so I tweaked George's and now he is a siren! He doesn't have a cool power but he can manipulate small amounts of water when he sings, the louder his singing the more control and the amount of water he can manipulate grows!

Chapter Text

“Tommy!” A voice pierced through the thick jungle, weaving through bushes and past trees. Deep in the heart, next to a roaring waterfall sat a teen, relaxing in the warm glow of the sun with legs swinging back and forth on the edge of a cliff.

The golden and white spotted tail that lay boneless behind him, splayed out on the rocky ground whipped into a rigid straight line, long similar colored ears that stuck out to the side of his head wiggled in annoyance.

The thundering splash of the waterfall did little to block out Tommy’s excellent hearing as the sound of wingbeats grew louder and louder, the sound of feathers dragging against bark vanished everytime the pair of wings moved up and down, water droplets dripping onto purple feathers for a second before being violently thrown off by the force of the wind, and the sound of hurried breathing filled his ears.

As Tommy sighed and stood up, stretching his back and lazily popping the bones in his tail three things happened in the blink of an eye.

The faint creak of an arrow being drawn back followed by a chorus of rattling bones.

The rustling of leaves followed by a gust of wind that blew into Tommy’s face as he slowly turned around.

The shriek of parrots, followed by their soft wingbeats as they took off into the sky meters from him.

With slowly widening eyes Tommy stared at the spot where the parrots were nesting in the shadows of the trees. With straining eyes and ears he could make out the boney form of a skeleton standing deep in the shadows.

As he took in the loaded bow, equipped with a gleaming enchantment and a piercing sharp arrowhead fear slowly settled in.

It had only been a few days since he had joined the server and decided to start building a base in the jungle. After mapping the whole place he picked this spot to start building with some help from Doc and Mumbo who lended him shulkers to store materials in.

Now only armed with a stone shovel, a stack of shulker boxes, a pile of cooked pork chops and an iron axe that was one hit away from breaking Tommy gulped as the skeletons' bones rattled, sounding like it was amused about the situation.

He really should have taken the items that everyone lended but he was too stubborn and instead proclaimed he was gonna build everything from scratch.

“And look where that got me.” Tommy muttered, rolling his eyes in exasperation of his past actions as he took a shaky step backward hoping for solid ground. His hoove met solid ground but only for a split second as the string of the bow twanged.

Tommy let out a howl as the arrow embedded into his shoulder, the arrow gleamed with an enchantment as a sudden force knocked him backward.

Over the edge of the cliff.

A shriek of pain and fear cut through the forest like a knife and Tommy realised it came from him seconds before gravity took hold, dragging him down toward the frothing water.

A cooling breeze brushed by again, bringing the spray of mist from the waterfall straight into his eyes. Tommy rubbed them with his good arm just as a purple feather drifted out of his vision.

Something shot down from the sky and Tommy relaxed as sweatered arms wrapped around him.

“It’s good to see you bitch.” Tommy grumbled “You took your sweet time.” He received a light but concerned laugh that sent vibrations down his spine and he shifted closer into the sweatered chest clinging to the warmth as his body grew colder.

“Let’s get you patched up problem child.” Grian snarked, beating his wings downard to fly upward back onto solid ground and landed meters away from the cliff, depositing Tommy gently on the ground before pulling out his enchanted axe.

Tommy couldn't help but grin as he watched Grian swing his arm back slowly before pitching it forward, the glistening axe slid out of his hand and flew through the air into the patch of darkness where the skeleton was.

Both relaxed, tension bleeding out as the sound of a panicked rattle filled the air before cutting off by a loud crack and a thud.

“Mind telling me what happened?” Grian said calmly, his emotions were screaming for answers as Tommy huffed, swiveling his head to stare into the jungle with a masked face.

“Nothing happened!” Tommy retorted, wincing as Grian sat next to him and started poking at the flesh around the arrow.

“Oh really? Well I can go get Xisuma to question yo-” Grian started, internally cheering as Tommy’s head snapped back to stare at him with wide blue eyes.

“Don’t you fucking dare get him!”

“Alright then, tell me what happened!”

As Tommy launched off into his lengthy explanation Grian hastily pulled out a shulker and set it on the ground. The sound of glass clinking didn’t seem to phase the teen who continued on, seeming to ignore Grian’s existence as he pulled out a health potion and bandages.

He hovered over Tommy, placing a hand on his shoulder and braced his feet against the ground causing the teen to look up at him in confusion.

“What are y-?” Grian smiled apologetically as he gripped the shaft of the arrow and tugged backward harshly. A yelp of pain flooded his ears and he pulled harder, feeling the arrow quickly pull past tissue and muscle until it was removed from Tommy’s shoulder entirely.

Grian let out a sigh of relief and tossed the arrow to the side where it clattered against stone before rolling into the waterfall and dumped over the edge where it vanished from view. His gaze returned to settle on a shaking Tommy who was glaring at him with glazed eyes.

“What the fuck was that for bitch!” Tommy hissed, voice audibly slurring and Grian took in the growing stain of blood that covered his shoulder. He had to act fast before Tommy died of blood loss.

Ignoring Tommy’s question and hateful glare he swiftly pulled out the potion of regeneration that was stuffed into his inventory and uncorked the top.

“Alright Tommy, you need to drink this.” Grian ordered. Tommy snatched it from his hands before he could say more and drowned it all with a glup leaving the avian to blink at him. Usually Tommy would stubbornly refuse their help unless he really needed so his quick actions were a surprise but also a cause for concern.

After retrieving his axe and turning his back on the cracked bow and the pile of bones in the shadows, Grian made his way back over to Tommy and pulled out a roll of bandages.

Five minutes later Tommy was healed and bandaged and with his sulker packed up Grian hoisted the teen up into his arms and took to the sky.

Tommy’s wince and muttered curse caught his attention as they hit a rough patch of wind high above the trees, the shopping district was slowly approaching in the distance and Grian estimated they would arrive in a few minutes.

“Your flying is shit.” Grian almost fell out of the sky at Tommy’s remark and he looked down to see the teen grinning with his face dripping sweat and looking a bit green.

“Well you can’t fly for starters!”

A string of curses littered the air as Grian tucked in his wings and dove down, gently flapping his wings to regain balance and to land safely on the ground. Tommy wiggled out of his arms, hooves hitting the floor with a clack.

After a few seconds of inspecting Tommy who swayed in place Grian hoisted the teen back into his arms and shot into the sky once more.

“Where are we going now?” Tommy groaned as the wind buffeted his hair around causing him to cough as a few strands slid into his mouth.

“We are going to get you patched up.”

“But I’m patched up already!” Grian snickered.

“No, I only gave you a quick heal to make sure you didn’t die.”

Grian flew fast over the jungle as the scent of the sea grew closer and closer. Tommy gasped as multiple large buildings sprung up from behind the salty mist that covered the area in a dense fog.

The teen was too busy gawking at the large structures to even utter a curse at Grian who landed smoothly on the iron beaker, heading straight for the iron doors that opened with a grating screech.

“Where are we?” Tommy asked again as he peered around at the yellow and white blocks that decorated the floor and walls. A staircase led upward to another floor but there was a wide hole in the ceiling whose purposes were unknown.

Lanterns lit up the room from holes in the walls and a few dangled from chains attached to the ceiling overall giving the room a cozy look. Tommy’s nose twitched as a sweet smell seemed to emit from everywhere and his stomach rumbled.

A sharp chirp followed by multiple clicks echoed throughout the structure and Tommy realised it came from Grian who was waiting patiently by the hole in the ceiling. A flash of yellow and black zoomed down through the hole and landed next to Grian with a thud causing Tommy to subconsciously take a small step backward.

“Xisuma, Tommy got shot by a skeleton.” Grian said smirking as Tommy gasped loudly.

“Fuck you Grian! I told you not to tell him!” Grian laughed as Tommy stalked forward only to go silent as the teen wobbled on his feet now looking much paler in the warm yellow light from the launtrens.

“I told you-” Tommy’s voice slurred into oblivion just as his legs started to shake. He felt oddly cold and his shirt stuck to his skin. The white and yellow blocks slowly blended together as his eyes started to close and Tommy let his legs crumple into dust sending him hurtling toward the floor, face first.

Black wings with white spots that gleamed like stars enveloped him as a honey yellow body swayed before him. He let out a grunt as arms gently grabbed him, pulling him close and he relaxed as a hand wove it’s way into his hair, scratching the skin around his horns.

As the room melted into shadows Tommy also melted into a puddle as he allowed himself to be carried into the sky and away from everything.

Tiredness seeped into his bones like a spongy block of moss, his head rested against something soft as muffled voices echoed around his brain.

“How did a skeleton get its hands on a poison arrow?”

“Beats me but with a bucket of milk Tommy should be good to go after a long night of sleep.”

“...”

“I hope so.”

“Come on Grian let him rest, we can talk this through later.”

“Fine.”

Chapter Text

“Tubbo let’s go home.” Ranboo called tiredly to the goat hybrid who was parading up and down the lines of server gates, reading the player list of each and flicking an ear in annoyance.

“We can look tomorrow.” Ranboo added, teleporting next to Tubbo who didn’t even flinch as he scanned a database connected to a locked hardcore server.

“Fine.” Tubbo muttered as he pushed past Ranboo, pulling out a small book and a quill. The ender dragon hybrid watched sadly as Tubbo wrote Dream SMP in the corner of the page, it sunk into the paper disappearing from sight and a familiar tug in his gut made him shut his eyes.

A whoosh of wind called them home and Ranboo blinked, basking in the warmth of their server gate that was locked. Tubbo slowly put in the server code but stopped halfway to Ranboos confusion.

“I want to check one more place.”

And with that they were off once more.

“What are we doing here Tubbo?” Tubbo ignored Ranboo’s impatient and sour mood and entered the open server gate that was scarily empty.

Hypixel was never meant to be this empty.

Something was wrong, terribly wrong.

Ranboo’s fears were confirmed as his vision was binded by a flash of gold light as a wave of warmth rushed over him, blowing his black and white hair backward and making his wings shiver.

His green and red eyes widened as they swept over the server, Tubbo stood off to the side staring up at the sky with a hanging jaw.

Screams rang out from deeper within the destroyed city that was torched, craters tore the ground open and standing on the large golden block letters high in the sky was Dream.

“Tubbo run!” Ranboo screamed shrilly as he watched Dream’s eyes open, glowing a dazzling mix of purple and green from inside the cracked mask. He broke into a mad dash toward the seemingly frozen Tubbo who only stared at their admin with horror.

Dream vanished in a burst of green particles, reappearing feet above Tubbo with a curled sneer. Ranboo felt his lungs burst as he pushed forward the last few feet to tackle the teen, pushing them both to the ground as Dream came hurtling down, embedding the long and deadly spike at the end of his tail deep into the ground.

Ranboo felt his mind go into overdrive as he pushed Tubbo behind him, flaring his wings to block Dream’s view. His mouth unhinged, revealing serrated teeth and a lashing tongue as he let out a roar.

Dream remained silent, yanking his tail from within the ground as he eyed Ranboo with nothing but disgust.

“I don’t care who you are, get out of my way.” Dream said boredly. It was like all this carnage was a game to him and Ranboo subconsciously took a step backward as the familiar warmth from Tubbo’s body pressed against him.

He responded with a rumbling growl, gathering the heat of his stomach to shoot out his stomach acid, wincing as the heat rushed up his throat, the pain was worth it as it splattered against Dream who managed to look surprise before letting out a cold laugh that sent shivers down Ranboo’s spine.

“Oh little dragon! You're so weak!” Ranboo took another step backward, slipping a hand into Tubbos.

“Now, any last words?” Dream hissed, ear flicking to the stairs that led to the ground.

“Fuck off!” Tubbo shouted, pushing past Ranboo’s wing with determination radiating off him in waves.

“Don’t you dare hurt my friend!” Ranboo felt warmth wrap around his heart as he stared down at Tubbo, his brown horns and messy hair that smelled like oil and gunpowder.

Dream huffed in amusement “Cute.” Before banishing his tail like a weapon and lunging forward. Ranboo let out a growl and snatched the back of Tubbo’s collar, shielding the smaller with his body and wings. Waiting for the biting pain of the spike that would be planted deep within him.

The pain never came. Instead a flash of red tainted the sky overhead and Ranboo felt his lips form an O just as he turned around, still holding Tubbo close to his chest.

A singular loud wingbeat filled the air as Ranboo locked eyes with a lone man, holding Dream’s spiked tail and ripping it off in one swift motion.

“Whoa.” Tubbo whispered as the duo watched in awe as the man and Dream exchanged blows, never backing down in strength or speed. The man had black hair and a stubble, gold horns gleamed in the soot filled air along with a sudden burst of fire that made Dream fly backward, fur and clothes set alight.

“WHO DARES!” Dream shrieked as he rose back to his feet, eyes glinting madly as he stared down his opponent who gave him a cold glare, ruby red dragon wings flaring out behind him, extending into the air at an impressive height and size. Compared to Ranboo’s wings his looked like a chicken next to the dragon hybrid who rushed forward, head down and wings beating behind him.

Dream let out a howl as a horn plunged into his shoulder, black blood seeped from the wound and like an angry horse the dragon hybrid flung Dream using his head into the sky before slamming him down into the rubble covered ground with a triumphant roar and a burst of fire.

“Hell yeah!” Tubbo shouted, pumping his fist into the air. Ranboo flinched as red eyes fell on his and he pulled Tubbo closer as the man hurried forward.

“He won't stay down for long, follow me.” With that the hybrid grabbed Tubbo and took to the air with just one flap of his wings, leaving Ranboo to internally panic at the rising Dream who looked pissed.

He watched as Dream, with a simple clap of his hands, caused the server portal. Their way home to spark once, twice then it imploded in a flash of purple. Sending him flying backward over the railing and into the rushing sea.

Ranboo managed to steady his fall with a few flaps of his wings before soaring away from the dark portal, from Dream and toward Tubbo who was spewing information to the dragon hybrid who held him aloft.

“Dream was your admin? So you came from the dream smp right?” The man questioned, veering to avoid a tower as wind buffeted them higher.

“Yeah.” Ranboo said softly as he glided along.

“I heard from a few admins that Dream was spewing trouble, first was his tampering with a kids code and now this!” The man shook his head.

“It’s wrong, all of it.” Tubbo’s head perked up and Ranboo could see the gears turning.

“Is that kid Tommyinnit by any chance?” The older hybrid looked down at him with a raised eyebrow.

“Yeah? Are you a friend?” Tubbo beamed despite the destruction they had witnessed and the carnage surrounding them.

“Yeah! Do you know where he went!” Ranboo huffed under his breath as the man suddenly tucked in his wings and dived, landing smoothly meters below on the roof of a small tower.

“Yeah, I think I saw him last leaving with the hermits.”

Now, if Ranboo thought Tubbo was ecstatic over the thought of finally finding his best friend he was wrong because now the teen was jumping up and down like a happy puppy.

“Ranboo! Ranboo! He’s with the hermits! He’s safe!”

“Thank god.” Ranboo said tiredly as a fierce aching in his wings started to flare and he made the droop uncontrollably, letting the tips of the clawed ends rest against the cobblestone.

“Here, this is a safehouse. You guys can get some rest inside.” They followed the man inside through a trapdoor. Ranboo had to squeeze his wings to fit into the tight tunnel. It seemed the dragon hybrid didn’t fare much better because the sound of scales dragging across stone made him wince.

They entered a small room, cluttered with bookshelves and chest overflowing with potions and glimmering weapons.

“Welcome to my humble abode!” The man exclaimed, his voice depositing dust from the high vaulted ceiling. “I’ll find some spare beds from the nearby rooms.”

“Wait!” Ranboo turned to see Tubbo already digging through a chest and eyed him with disapproval causing the goat hybrid to snort and drop the armful of enchanted books back into the wooden crate.

“We never got your name.” Tubbo explained, Ranboo hid his eagerness for the man’s identity to be finally revealed as the older smiled at them, black blood was still dripping from his horn and down to stick to his hair.

“Well it’s nothing much but if you really want to know...”

The hybrid flared his wings that ginted red off the walls as he stood proudly on a small set of stairs that seemed to lead downward. His red cape fluttered in an invisible gust of wind and gold buttons sewn onto the thick fabric sparked in the dimming sunlight.

“You can call me the captain!”

“Captainsparklez to be exact!”

Chapter Text

“Holy shit!” Tommy yelped as he reached the peak of Grian’s man-made mountain, gazing across the other side with wide eyes as he took in the view of a city and next to it a massive expanse of blue that stretched beyond his vision.

What drew his attention was the platform. Squinting he could make out small figures standing on the floating blocks. With curiosity high in the sky Tommy huffed and started his long descent down the mountain.

About an hour later he finally reached the base, managing to trip on a rock and start falling. Tommy prepared himself with arms cradling his head as the ground rushed up to meet him.

“Tommy, What did I say about being aware of your surroundings?”

The teen let out something between a groan and a grunt as he was caught by the back of his shirt, the familiar voice dripping with exasperation.

“You said to always stay alert.” Tommy grumbled, regaining his balance and patting his shirt to free it from dust as he, (With a frown) turned on his heel and met vibrant eyes of green.

“Good job, you remembered!” Cleo said cheerfully, patting Tommy on the shoulder as he blushed profusely.

“Ah I must be heading off Tommy, catch you later!” Tommy waved as Cleo, With the flap of large white and green moth-like wings vanished from sight, flying off into the distance away from the city.

“There you are!”

Tommy jumped, a meter into the air as a loud shout came from the small platform high above the town, the words sounding like a whisper in his ears. A yelp escaped his lips as a mixture of light blue, bright yellow, and red filled his vision.

“What the fuck are you doing!” Tommy shouted as the trio of amused avians glided down to greet him.

“Having some fun!” Grian answered with a smirk as he landed before the unamused teen who’s blue eyes flashed.

“I wanna join!” Tommy said excitedly, tail whipping back and forth as one of the avians next to Grian let out a light laugh.

It was a woman with light brown hair that flashed with streaks of gold, she had cheerful blue eyes and a black jacket along with blue shorts and white shoes. What was the most stunning, Tommy thought was the two large pairs of light blue and white wings that were tucked close to her back.

The feathers were neatly preened and shone in the sunlight, not a single blemish against her stark white primary feathers and Tommy resisted the urge to run his hands through them.

He was so entranced by her wings he almost forgot about the other avian standing on the opposite side of Grian. He was male, with cropped light brown hair and black glistening eyes. He only had one pair of wings that matched his bright yellow coat that stopped at his ankles. A bold purple bow sat just under his neck.

His wings were a bit larger than Grian’s. The tip of his primary feathers touched the ground making the shiny purple just a tad bit darker because of the light coat of dirt that layered on from him walking.

“Tommy, meet Pearl and Impulse.” Grian chirped as he waved both hands to each respective person.

“It’s nice to meet you Tommy!” Pearl said, smiling as she extended out a hand that Tommy slowly took, uncertainty flooded his thoughts, making his ears to tightly pin themselves against his head.

“It’s alright Tommy. I trust them, they won’t try to take you.” Tommy forced himself to relax as Grian’s soft words brushed against his ears, making them droop. Ever since Xisuma woke him from his poisoned slumber and discussed his safety Tommy’s head rang with the thought of other people trying to use him, like Dream but that man wanted to kill him sooo...

Anyway apparently being a moobloom was like finding a six leaf clover in a patch of tall grass.

It stupidly, undoubtedly, terrifingly rare to find one, let alone be one. From some myths Xisuma remembered Tommy learned that at a certain age he would get a single strange ability.

Apparently his blood would heal anything and everything. Himself, people, any animal on the face of the earth could be brought back from the brink of death with the red substance within him.

It was a horrible thought. He was basically a walking goldmine even before he would gain the power. And that was why people wanted him to drain his blood from every vessel and use it in potions and try to create a way to make themselves immortal.

From what he remembered Xisuma also brought up the topic of groups of hybrids and humans who dedicated their life to finding moobloom hybrids for the soul use of experimentation.

And now he couldn't even look at the two avians in their eyes as the thought ran circles in his head.

“I know it’s just....” Grian’s face softened. As Pearl let out a sigh. Impulse looked on with concern. The words hovered in the air as the group stood in silence for a few seconds.

“It’s alright Tommy, you don’t have to trust us.” Impulse reassured as the teen locked eyes with him. The older shivered at the look of fear dancing around in the bright blue irises.

Within a split second the trio of adults watched in shock as the almost glassy look in Tommy’s eyes shattered and he was grinning up at them with twinkling eyes, devoid of any sadness or fear that was there moments before.

“So what were you doing?” Grian ruffled his feathers as he quickly brought up a devious smile, covering the thin line that painted his face. As he did so Pearl and Impulse shot him looks that screamed for answers.

“Well for starters, welcome to Boatem! The least laggy shopping district on the entire server!” Pearl scoffed and Impulse chuckled as Tommy looked at Grian with a look of pure confusion.

“The fuck?”

“Laugange!” Pearl yelled, Tommy quickly shut his mouth and stared at Pearl with wide eyes.

“Jeez Pearl, cut the kid some slack.” Impulse joked as he turned to scan at the platform in the sky, raising one hand to block out the sun.

“I think it’s stopping Grian!” The avian said excitedly as he dropped to one knee and pushed off the ground with wings beating in even strokes, making him soar upward.

Pearl let out an excited chirp and without using the ground to push off she took to the sky with only one flap from both pairs of wings, leaving Tommy to watch in awe as the duo twisted through the air effortlessly, flying in circles around the platform.

“Come on!” Tommy let out a sigh as Grian held out a hand. With little to no hesitation he took it and seconds later arms wrapped around his stomach, anchoring him tightly to the warm body behind him.

“Uh, Grian, that's pretty fair.” Tommy chuckled nervously as he gazed upward, feeling the man’s sweatered arms wrap tighter around him, a rumbling laugh vibrated against his spine as vibrant red, yellow, and blue feathers encased him.

And with a flash they were flying like an arrow released from the taut string of a bow, the feeling of shooting through the air felt like adrenaline running through his veins as he turned his head to watch Grian’s wings flap up and down with power in each stroke.

The high of flying at such speeds died down quickly as Grian looped around the platform, coming to a hover with wings beating at a gentle pace as he set Tommy down with a smile.

“Here’s our masterpiece!” Impulse yelled over the buffeting winds as he sat on a piece of cobblestone feet away, pointing to a redstone machine that was pumping out what seemed to be boats at a slowing pace.

The minute he stared at it however a feeling of dread encased his body. It felt like being dumped in freezing cold water or having oil poured over your body and a match lit millimeters away. Every instinct told him to run, flee off the platform and get as far away from the amalgamation of boats as possible.

But Tommy pushed the feeling down as he slowly approached the horde of boats that somehow managed to stay put against the howling winds. With each step it felt like his bones started to become ten times heavier, his thoughts slowed to a crawl and his blood moved sluggishly like thick slime.

“Uh Grian, I don’t think the kid’s doing well with the lag!” Grian whipped around his spot on the platform, tearing his eyes from the wide expanse of sea to gaze at Tommy who seemed to be staring at the boats with a mixture of emotions, a wary Impulse rising with a clenched jaw.

“Oh no.” Pearl whispered as Impulse moved to drag Tommy back from the growing pile of boats.

Red and black wings landed on the platform as Tango joined at the worst moment possible.

“What going on he-” Grian watched as Tango’s wing stretched out, bumping against the pile of boats and he tackled the man off the platform.

“Grab Tommy!” Grian heard Pearl yell as he glanced upward with gritted teeth, watching Pearl dive off in a flash of blue. He rightened himself, making sure Tango had also stabilized before releasing the man's vest to let him hover off to the side.

Moments later a sonic boom pierced their eardrums, rattling bones, and making the earth shake meters below them as they watched hundreds of boats fly off the platform. It almost looked magical as they plummeted to the ground if it wasn't for the horror of Impulse and Tommy being absent from the sky.

“Tommy!” Grian screamed frantically as he shot past falling boats, diving and waving around the heavy wooden structures like they were nothing as he quickly made it up to the platform once more, scanning the empty space quickly for any sign of the two.

“I’m alright.” Grian let out a sigh of relief as a pair of hands heaved themselves up from the perilous dangling spot off the platform. His relief didn’t last long as he stared at Impulse who seemed close to breaking down.

“Impulse...” Grian started. “He’s gone. Tommy’s gone!” Impulse yelled frantically just as Pearl and Tango landed next to them.

“What!” Pearl exclaimed as she whirled to face Impulse with a look of horror written on her face.

“I grabbed him right! Then he froze, and stopped breathing. I couldn't feel his heartbeat!” Grian’s face whitened.

“Then his body started to glitch out, I could see his code! It was flashing red like mad!” Impulse took in a breath of air. “He just vanished. Poof like that, I could hear him screaming Grian!”

“Don’t worry we’ll find him. I’ll radio in Xisuma.” Tango said as he gently rubbed Impulses’s back, watching helplessly as the man started to sob.

“Grian what do you think happened?” Pearl asked as the man started placing cobblestone around the platform, building a wall at record speed and breaking the redstone machine with vigor as the room slowly grew warm.

“I think something went wrong with his code, it was already damaged by Dream and Xisuma tried to patch it up but… I think the lag overwhelmed him, forcing him to crash.” Grian said thoughtfully, freezing as a black starry night descended upon them.

With a thud a ruffled looking Xisuma flew through into the enclosed space, tucking in his pitch black wings as he looked around, face hidden from view behind his netherite mask.

“Where's the spot?” Grian pointed wordlessly at the end of the platform, watching with bated breath as the avian walked over and tapped a few blocks, pulling up a glowing screen of green with a flash of light.

“Damn it.” Pearl cringed hearing Xisuma curse under his breath as he pulled up more screens filled with gibberish they couldn't understand. “This may take a while.” Xisuma said after a few tense minutes of silence “I need a bed and a few regen potions to be set up here for when I return.”

“Wait what!” Tango said loudly, wings flaring in confusion. “What do you mean return? Where are you going?” Pearl asked, concerned with the tight expression that danced across Grian’s face.

“Where crashed players go, the void.” Xisuma said curtly.

Grian watched with bile swirling in his stomach as the avian disappeared in a flash of black light and a soft booming sound.

“Please bring him home.” He whispered to the howling wind.

Chapter Text

At first Tommy thought he was blind, that was until the darkness surrounding him twinkled with millions of small stars. He was cold, much colder than normal and the thin cargo pants and shirt did nothing to keep out the chill that descended into his bones and cause goosebumps to rush along his skin.

His muscles were still spasming from the effect of the lag, forcing him to let out little huffs as he ground his teeth together and curled into a floating ball. It hurts, the feeling of every organ slowing, your mind and body being torn out of the world’s code. Into what was essentially the backrooms of the server.

Tommy cursed under his breath as the chill seemed to sink deeper into his body. Oddly enough it felt like a cloud of fog was slowly condensing in his brain and pressing against his skull. He shook his head violently to try to dispel the feeling, only for his head to be sent reeling as his vision blurred.

“What’s going on!?” Tommy screamed into the empty sky as he hugged his legs tighter against his body, thoughts racing as a silk touch tapped on his shoulder.

“Didn’t think I would find you here.” A pleased voice purred in his ear and Tommy felt his heart drop to the nonexistent floor. “What a pleasant surprise!” He released his legs and whirled through the air only to freeze as a familiar white mask reared closer before him.

Dream looked hideous, a combination of heightened hybrid traits and dark corruption made him look mad and unhinged as he floated through the air effortlessly, stars dimming out of existence around him.

Tommy let out a hysterical laugh out of sheer terror. What in the everloving FUCK was Dream doing here? Didn’t he die? Tommy remembered him dying vividly, the dark purple flames, the admins cheering, Dream’s agonized screams. Well once was enough and it was time this monster was put into the ground forever.

Shaking off his initial fear Tommy puffed his chest out, ears going from being pinned to the side of his head to standing straight up, tail curling dangerously around his legs and head lowering just far enough from him so see Dream’s leering face. One eye was visible and it stared at him with joy.

The deranged admin let out gulls of high pitched laughter and folded in half, sliding down until he was sitting on the heels of his feet and holding up his head with one clawed hand. His elbow rested on his knee and the other hand circled lazaly in the air, pulling all nearby stars into a small vortex that slowly turned into black dust as the stars died once within vicinity.

Once his laughter subsided the man pulled his mask off, revealing pulsating green eyes. Tommy watched as the mask was tossed to the side. It sank into the void with ease and he had a feeling it would reappear soon.

“So cute.” Dream spat as his eyes narrowed, he lunged forward not a second later.

It was a terrifying dance of death, evading claws, hooves shooting through the air, horns glinting in the light of the stars, blood trickling from cuts, the air thinning around them, exhaustion setting in like dark mist.

They fought like humans at first, strategizing, thinking, hoping, longing for the right hit that would greatly injure the other. Time passed all too fast and in a blink of an eye they fell through the cracks of humanity.

Before it was the battle of each careful move that would decide their fate. Now it was the fight to survive, speed, endurance, the push against each muscle screaming for the end, the terror of losing ran through both hybrids veins as they rammed aginst each other like wild animals.

Their movements used to be smooth, like a deadly dance. Now each move was with the weight of anger, determination and strength behind it. Blood floated in the air, the red glinting off the light of the stars as waves of them died with each swing.

Dream was favoring his left arm, light cuts littered his exposed arms from Tommy’s tail and he would let out small grunts each time he moved. Tommy couldn’t control his lungs, every intake and exhale of the ice cold air burned his throat and the inside of the organ keeping him alive at the moment. Deep cuts littered his body, his leg was definitely broken, and his head throbbed.

The pain only spurred him on as he let out a grunt, dodging a clawed hand intent on slicing his face into strips. He tucked and flung his legs up, pushing them into Dream’s stomach with enough force to send the man flying up and away.

He couldn’t help but silently cheer as a loud crack pierced the void as his hooves made contact once again in the exact same spot. Tommy assumed he broke a rib as Dream let out a loud hiss of pain, clutching his side tightly. He clutched his own leg as pain burned it from the inside out.

The admin huffed, fangs peeking out with each breath “You're a little shit.” Tommy couldn’t help but wink, sending the admin into another fit of rage. He let out a yelp as Dream’s tail spike sliced through the air. He watched in slow motion as the tip cut through stars, making them explode into dust.

“Yeah no.” Tommy snapped as he whipped his own tail into action, making it avoid the sharp spike and wrap around the middle. He then tugged it backward, pulling Dream closer to him. The admin was tugging harshly with his own tail to try to release the teens hold but it was to no avail.

Tommy lowered his head as he reeled Dream in, watching with satisfaction as the admins eyes widened at the sharp spikes he was about to crash into. To his horror Dream raised his arm to cut off his tail and Tommy quickly yanked him closer before unwrapping the appendage at lightning speed and tucking it behind him.

A hand grabbed ahold of his hair and ripped a few strands from the roots, Tommy let out a howl as claws dug into the skin above his ears, below, and pressed tightly against his neck. He stopped fighting as pinpricks of pain sparked and the feeling of blood dripping down his neck made him freeze.

“This is the end you stupid child.” Dream said triumphantly, squeezing Tommy’s head harder until the teen saw stars. He spat out blood straight between the admins fingers, grinning weakly as it stained the green robe red.

Tommy relaxed in his hold, eyes looking joyous. “At least I tried.” The teen hissed “Unlike you.” Dream rolled his eyes and leveled his tail, aiming it dead center with Tommy’s head as the target. He moved his hand to hold the teens neck with a dead lock grip, slowly squeezing out all the air in Tommy’s lungs with gusto.

“Any last words?” Tommy glared up at Dreams face as the man mocked him, blue met swirling green for the last time.

Then a bee with black wings joined.

“I have to go.” Grian said softly to Pearl who looked at him in confusion. “Ok?”

A faint whisper in his ear made his eyes furrow in concentration. With a small glitch of black Grian vanished as he followed the singing that pulled him into oblivion.

Across the mountain and on the other side sat Mumbo who instantly clambered to his feet as a faint voice trailed through the air.

He followed the singing without hesitation.

“How fun!” Dream gasped sarcastic excitement dripping off each word as three familiar hybrids glitched into existence before him. He frowned as the void let out a rumble and the stars seemed to glow brighter.

That wasn’t a good sign, if the void didn’t like them then they ment bad business. The trio seemed different however. Was it because of the white mask donning their faces? Or the anger rolling off them in waves? Oh! It was probably the dark purple glint in their eyes, the shimmer of hatred that killed him!

“I wouldn't move if I were you.” Tommy whimpered as Dream pulled him into view, claws still pressing tightly against his jugular that jumped like a scared hummingbird. His eyes flitted to each covered face and glinted purple eyes with scared relief.

“Kill him.” Tommy whispered, his voice barely a whisper from behind Dream’s palm as he desperately stared into his three guardians eyes, pleading.

“I don’t care what you do…” His voice hitched “Just erase him.”

He let out a yelp of pain as Dream’s other clawed hand burrowed into his arm, drawing thick streams of blood as the needle like tips punctured leathery skin, cutting off the rest of his words and making him thrash in the admins hold, a color darker then the void started to blot the edges of his vision as he went boneless, eyelids slipping down.

He blinked once, then the three people before him vanished. Dream let out a howl of pain. Tommy floated as his eyes closed.

“I can’t lose you, not again.” A familiar voice filled his consciousness and a name slipped from the tip of his tongue.

“Tubbo.” Tommy breathed, eyes shooting open despite his body screaming for rest as he took in the ever changing surroundings. Dream was clutching his wrist, where his hand should have been was a black oozing stump.

He looked on in awe as three angels of death loomed over the admin who shot out a hand, a gruntal scream shaking the stars over head. The void seemed to ripple, a sticky substance stretched out to greet Dream’s outstretched hand, forming a blade that shimmered with stars but was as black as a clean night sky. His other hand reformed not a second later with the same black ooze.

“I won’t let you watchers destroy me!” Dream yelled, swinging the blade to ward them off. Tommy floated upward, watching with tired and excited eyes as Grian let out a cold laugh.

“You were created from the void Dream.” Grian growled, voice brimming with hatred “We are watchers, we share a part of the void.” A smoky purple axe formed in his hand and Grian inspected it with glee before swinging it straight at the admins face, watching as it tore at the inky blackness of the void, ripping blobs from the sky and forcing Dream to fly down instantly to escape it’s patch.

Mumbo’s eyes flickered to a red tint. “We don’t create.” He added as he snapped his fingers, a dark purple sword, crackling with vicious black flames fell into his hand and he lunged at Dream who summoned a shield at the last moment to block the man’s hit.

Mumbo chuckled darkly as the sword lightly touched the shield, the flames poured off like a liquid and engulfed the shield in seconds, leaving the bewildered admin with a handle of splintered wood.

Xisuma who was still dressed in his bee armor hovered forward, looming over Dream with purple pin pricks for eyes. “We destroy.”

Determined Tommy floated to join them, Grian eyed his body with concern evident behind the mask and healed him with a snap. He jumped as the broken bone in his leg reformed and snapped back into place with a flare of pain that quickly vanished. All the blood was cleaned off and the small cuts were gone from his skin.

“And we’re gonna destroy you.” Tommy snarled as he grabbed Mumbo’s sword and charged. Ignoring the avian’s sigh of disappointment with glee.

Void met chaos as the two blades connected.

Miles away, in a thread of light an ender dragon hybrid woke up with a pounding heart and tight lungs.

“What… What was that!?”

“You ok Boo?” Ranboo whipped his head around to lock eyes with a concerned Tubbo who quickly hopped over to him, dancing over quills and books littering the ground.

“Something just happened, somewhere I don’t know!” Ranboo stammered, jumping as Tubbo pulled him into a hug. “Can you tell me?” The goat hybrid asked quietly, ears twitching.

Ranboo sighed, wrapping his arms around the smaller as they gazed into the moonlight streaming in from the large tower window.

“I think something happened to Tommy, and I think Dream’s with him.”
“Something bad is gonna happen Tubbo! I can feel it!” Ranboo yelled as purple tears welled up in the corners of his eyes.

“Well let’s go save him then!” The duo looked at each other before swiving their heads to the captain who hung meters above from the ladder with a knowing look.

“He’s your friend right? And anyway I might have an idea on where he is.” Ranboo noticed Tubbo’s ears perked up and his tail started to bawl up the blanket at the speed it was wagging.

“But first!” The captain jumped off the ladder, gliding to a stop at a row of chest’s before digging through each one. “We need some materials!”

Ranboo rolled his eyes as Tubbo jumped up and down excitedly as the captain pulled out enchanted suits of diamond armor and netherite armor and dragged out a chest full of enchantment books covered in dust.

“Let’s go!”

“Alright, this is the plan!” The captain roared, scaled wings raised high as he pranced around an odd looking metal contraption with glee.

“What’s the plan?” Ranboo questioned as he prodded the metal box with his hand, jumping as steam rushed into his face. Tubbo let out a sharp laugh, quickly shutting his mouth as purple eyes glinted from within the fog that vanished into the air with a snap.

“We get to lag the server! With some help of course, Hypixel is one of the largest so it will take more than the three of us.” As soon as the captain finished the chat pinged with four new names.

Curious, Tubbo pulled up the server list. His eyes widened at the seven players, including them being the only living occupants left. It was sad really, seventy thousand empty player slots were empty and cold.

“Skeppy has joined?” Tubbo said out loud, scanning down chat as he read off the three other names. “Gaming with jen, PopularMMOs, and… ” Ranboo leaned over his shoulder and spotted the last person.

“Scott!” The captain nodded with a smile. “Yep, I managed to send some messages using old server links. Apparently Dream forgot about them working!” Tubbo frowned, one hoof scraping the floor as a question lingered in his mind.

“Why didn’t you contact the admins of hypixel?” The captain shrugged. “I couldn’t, Dream blocked it somehow.”

“Hello!” A woman's voice called from high above making Ranboo twist his head to look skyward just as a bright pink blob fell off the side of a building. His jaw dropped as the woman did a backflip through the air and landed on her feet, the large pink furry pads absorbed all the force and she bounced upward once again, landing next to the captain with a large toothy grin.

She wore a pink shirt and white cargo shorts, her feet were like a bunnies with white toe pads underneath and pink ears with white donning the inside. Tubbo seemed to be frozen in awe, watching her ears twitch at every little sound that Ranboo strained to hear.

Her ears swiveled downward and the captain let out a sigh as he quickly stepped to the side, the pink haired woman took a small jump backward as the cobblestone ground cracked from underneath her.

A blue hand erupted upward from within the ground, well not exactly hands Ranboo thought as he inspected the newcomer who clawed their way out of the ground. Their hands looked like diamonds had melted on them, creating an incredibly hard but flexible surface.

“Skeppy, Jen.” The captain called as he pointed to the two with a calm smile.

“You're a bunny hybrid!” Tubbo shouted in excitement at Jen who winked. “You're a diamond hybrid.” Ranboo said slowly as he stared at Skeppy who’s light brown skin twinkled with small blue jewels. Patches of his skin were a smooth light blue that mirrored the shade of his eyes.

Skeppy smirked as he fluffled up his hair, blue streaks mingled with dark brown and cast a rainbow over his head. He wore black sweatpants and a simple white tank top. Ranboo’s eyes widened as the man turned to face the captain, revealing a small rainbow heart tattooed onto his shoulder.

He quickly slapped a hand over Tubbo’s mouth as the goat hybrid let out a muffled excited ba, eyes alight as they bore into Skeppy’s shoulder. Tubbo sat waiting as Jen and Skeppy took turns hugging the captain, the three eagerly talking about the missed time together.

“So why did you call us again? Also I thought Pat joined, where the hell is he!” Skeppy complained as he shook Jen violently, a joking grin spread across his face as the lady glared at him, tapping a pawed foot against the ground at a rapid pace.

“He’s coming with Scott, they are bringing the supplies you dunderhead!” Jen shouted, patience waning as Skeppy dropped her like a burning rock, backing away quickly.

“Well on one told me!” Skeppy started only to be cut off by the captain “I messaged you to remember to bring ores!” The man yelled tiredly as he set down an ender chest nearby.
“Are we just gonna listen to the adults argue?” Tubbo whispered with tired eyes as he stared at the three with disinterest. Ranboo shrugged, growling as a hand landed on his shoulder. His wings snapped out, slamming into whoever was behind him and pushing them to the ground.

“Scott I’m so sorry!” The teen rushed as he quickly pulled the wolf hybrid up from the ground. Scott bursted into laughter, tail wagging as he patted Ranboo on the shoulder. “No problem buddy, I'm sorry that startled you!”

“He’s not sorry.” A man said jokingly from behind Scott. Parts of his body were grey and plated with a mixture of small spikes sticking out. He wore a black shirt and ratty jeans but radiated an unusual calm that made Tubbo’s ears go limp.

“Kid’s meet Scott and Pat.” Jen announced as she ran past Ranboo to hug Pat tightly, the man hugged her back, gently, and whispered something into ear causing an even bigger smile to spread across her face.

“It’s still there?! The old server?” Jen questioned, excitement making her bounce in place.

“Yep.” Pat replied “I’ve been taking care of it, made a few modifications to the arena and bought a few new lucky blocks to try out!” Out of the corner of his eye Tubbo caught Skeppy’s head whip around to stare at Pat with a shit eating grin.

“I’m so glad it’s not destroyed!” With that Pat let out a weak chuckle, “About that…”

“It was destroyed.” Jen’s ears dropped. “But! Before it was fully corrupted by Dream I managed to make a backup and escape to the server hub.”

“And I earned this in the process.” Tubbo let out a small bah and Ranboo cringed as Pat pulled up his shirt, revealing a large scar that was shaped like a messy spider web on his lower stomach.

“Jeez Pat.” The captain said softly as Pat pulled his shirt down “How did you survive?”

“I was lost in the hub, bleeding out and stumbled through the first unlocked server gate I could find.” Pat said with a shaky smile “By the grace of some higher being I managed to crawl into Dan’s server where he found me sprawled out on the doorstep of his lab.”

“And the rest was history.” Tubbo said in unison with Jen, there was suffocating silence after and the captain broke it with a snap from his clawed fingers. “Alright! We have everything so let's start!”

“Pat, start opening those lucky blocks.” The silverfish hybrid grinned and pulled out a large black cube half the size of himself and dropped it onto the ground, quickly starting to mine it with a enchanted diamond pickaxe.
“Scott, I need you to try to tamper with the server's code, do anything and everything to make it crash.” The captain ordered “Wait, but I don’t have admin permission on this server.” The captain grinned, “Did you get that mod I sent?” Scott nodded slowly, still not catching on.

“It was from a friend of a friend, once installed it gives you fake admin perms, allowing you to pass as an admin even though you are not.” Scott’s eyes widened.

“Isn’t that illegal?” Both adults turned to the two teens, Tubbo stared at the captain with disapproval. “The world is going to end Tubbo!” Ranboo snapped “Let them do it!” The goat hybrid huffed but turned around allowing Scott to open up his admin controls after some much needed silence.

“Alright I’ll get started.” The captain nodded and Scott started searching for important pieces of code, grabbing them tightly, and yanking them out. Ranboo watched as the green strings flashed red, yellow, blue, then purple and dissolved into small particles that were blown away by the wind.

“Jen, go help Pat.” The bunny hybrid jumped into the air and hurried away with no words exchanged. “Skeppy!” The captain called, jumping as the diamond hybrid erupted from the ground before him.

“What is it, boss?” Skeppy asked mischievously as he grinned up at the captain who shook his head and muttered something under his breath. “I want you to guard these two.” Skeppy’s grin slipped. A loud screech came from Tubbo and Ranboo just took a seat on the nearest chest, claws tapping against the wood in boredom.

“We don’t need protection!” Tubbo yelled as the captain patted him on the head, being mindful of his curling horns before walking away and with one flap of his wings shooting into the sky, vanishing from view.

“Well it looks like I’m stuck babysitting you two.” Tubbo quickly directed his anger to Skeppy who leaned against a well that magically sprouted out of the ground, showering gold, diamonds, and iron everywhere.

Skeppy yawned, unmoving even as diamonds seemed to pool at his feet. “Thanks Skeppy!” Pat yelled, running over and gathering all the diamonds that lay at his feet before taking off towards Jen where the two both mined another odd lucky block, darting out of the way as it cracked open and three skulls pushed through.

Within minutes the sky was full of withers. Tubbo struggled to avoid a wither skull being thrown in his direction but it was like trying to run through concrete. The server was experiencing heavy lag and they were dealing with the brunt of it.

“I get it now! We need to go to the void!” Ranboo shouted over the sound of nearing explosions. “And lagging the server is the only way!”

“Why the hell do we need to get to the void!?” Tubbo screamed back oblivious to the incoming skull aimed at his back.

“Because, that’s where Tommy is.” The captain said with gritted teeth and Tubbo craned his neck to see the man behind him, one wing raised to shield them both from the skull that exploded a second later inches from them.

Off to the side stood Pat, enchanted bow that radiated power in his hand as he drew back another arrow that cut through the air, killing a wither with one hit. “We’re almost there! Six less frames to go!” Scott yelled from behind Pat, eyes glowing blue as he struggled to rip out another piece of code that wasn’t going easily.

Ranboo flew through the air to land beside Scott, quickly building a wall around them with spare blocks. Then he grabbed the glowing code that fizzled and hissed as his claws cut into it. It burned his palms and he almost let go from the pain but with a determined smile from Scott they both yanked it out where it dissolved into dust almost instantly.

Suddenly Ranboo’s stomach lurched as the world slowed around him, he blindly reached out a hand to lean against the wall and watched as Scott’s movements also slowed, the man turning to grasp his shoulders.

“Be careful ok? Defeat Dream and bring Tommy home.” Ranboo smiled and nodded as Scott’s face blurred and started to glitch, he closed his eyes for a split second and all noise cut.

“Ranboo.”

“Ranboo!”

“RANBOO!”

Ranboo’s eyes opened in one smooth movement and he clutched his throbbing head. Blinking as he stared up at the three concerned faces of Tubbo, The captain, and Scott all clothed in diamond armor and weapons.

“Where are the others?” He asked and Scott shrugged, “They were probably booted because they resist high lag spikes.” Ranboo stood, satisfied with his question answered as he stood however the feeling of weightlessness made him jolt.

There was no ground, or sky; it was just a starry void devoid of sound. Well not all sound. The group turned their attention to the faint clanging of metal that stemmed from the distance, an odd cold sunk into Ranboo’s veins and his wings stiffened.

“Let’s go.” Tubbo hissed as they started flying through the void, Ranboo grabbing Scott and the captain grabbing Tubbo as they both flew alongside each other, gripping their respective person tightly.

They descended into battle almost immediately, joining the trio of winged avians with claws and hooves out. Quickly a line was drawn and Dream retreated meters away. The captain observed the glinting purple eyes behind white cat-like mask’s.

“Your watchers.” The captain said slowly as the three turned to stare at them, weapons sheathed and wings slowly closing, revealing a glint of blonde hair peeking out from behind them.

Tubbo felt his heart stop as hair that was as bright as the sun burned through the void from behind three protective watchers. He took a subconscious step forward and the tallest avian tilted their head.

“Tommy.” Tubbo breathed as tears pooled in his eyes, he darted forward pushing past the watchers with no regard to how dangerous they were, and lunged with his arms out, sobbing uncontrollably as they made contact with a startled hybrid.

“Tommy!” Tubbo wailed as he stared up at his missing friend whose initial look of shock quickly changed into small sniffles that evolved into cascading tears. The horde of adults watched with thin lipped smiles as the two teens hovered, their tears floating around them in the zero gravity.

Tubbo buried his head in Tommy’s shoulder, being mindful of his horns until he looked down and spotted a white and yellow whip-like tail. He gasped, pushing Tommy away for a moment and inspected him with a growing smile.

“You're a hybrid!” Tubbo gushed as he did a fast circle around the teen who chuckled and pointed at his hooves. “Yep! I’m a moobloom.” Tubbo froze.

“A moobloom?” His voice came out raspy.

“Yeah?” Tommy replied, eyeing his friend with concern only to grunt as Tubbo tackled him again and leaned close to his ear that tried to swat the goat hybrids face away. “Mooblooms are rare Tommy, your in danger!”

Before Tommy could reassure him Tubbo whirled to face the watchers, teeth bared. “That’s why these guys are with you! They want your powers!” The tallest sighed and Tommy gently pulled Tubbo back.

“You're wrong Tubbs, these are the hermits and they saved me! They told me about my powers.” Tubbo squinted, then let out a barking laugh.

“Jeez I’m so stupid!” Tommy nodded with a smirk.

“Uh if you two are done talking we have a battle to get back to.” Tubbo stared at the older teen, an ender dragon hybrid who stared at Tommy with a small smile. Then it clicked.

“Your Ranboo!” Tommy said excitedly “From MCC!” Ranboo nodded politely, eyes drifting to the side. They widened immediately Tubbo noticed just as Ranboo ducked to avoid a spiked tail to the face.

“No attacking my friends!” Tommy roared, digging up the black sword in his inventory and releasing the pent up rage that the weapon eagerly absorbed, growing lighter and colder in his hand.

He ran head on past everyone and where Dream had landed and swung the blade down, wincing as it clanged against Dream’s sword in a battle of strength. His concentration sharpened as a clawed hand shot toward his face and he danced out of reach.

Dream let out a hiss as a glowing purple liquid landed on him, burning through his clothes and melting fur. Tommy turned, bug eyed, to stare at Ranboo whose jaw was unhinged and throat glowing a faint purple. The ender dragon hybrid let out a roar, claws flexing and wings snapping outward as he charged, tackling Dream with fury as he spat more acid into the admins face.

Tommy watched as the droplets moved in slow motion, and tore away at the cracked mask, falling into one of Dream’s eyes. The man let out an ungodly mixture of a scream and yell of pain and using both hands pushed Ranboo away, the one eye smoking and now a dark green.

“How dare you!” Dream snarled as he cupped his face with one hand, glaring at Ranboo out the other eye as the teen rose up, face impassive as he forced Dream to duck from an oncoming wing.

“Let the adults have some fun!” The captain yelled as he and Scott joined the fray. The captain unhinged his jaw and released a controlled burst of flame from the sky that Dream blocked with his sword. Scott followed with ground support and with his sword engaged the admin in combat, sending sparks flying with every swing.

“You.” Dream spat as Scott’s sword sliced a cut in his arm, the other admin replying with a mocking “Me.” before spinning around and sending Dream flying with a sharp kick to the stomach.

Dream landed heavily, coughing as he forced himself upright to deflect a small fist flying at his face. He caught the hand easily and grinned, staring down at the defiant goat hybrid.

“Cute.” Dream muttered before raising his sword to behead Tubbo who only glared up at him in defiance. “Don’t you dare.” A voice whispered coldly in his ear, before Dream could turn a sharp pain tore through stomach and he released Tubbo who still managed to land a solid punch, sending his head whipping backward.

The admin sighed and rubbed his jaw, staring down at the diamond sword embedded in his abdomen. Out of the corner of his good eye red scales glinted as the person who stabbed him emerged from behind him.

“Sparklez.” Dream snarled as he struggled to rise, with one hand he tore the sword from his body, tossing it away where it floated, blood staining the light blue a rusty red.

Tubbo took a few steps backward, fist throbbing as he watched the captain lock eyes with Dream. He wasn’t angry or throwing out funny remarks instead his body thrummed with deadly waves of calm that made a shiver go down Tubbos spine.

“Don’t you dare touch him.” The captain growled as his wings opened behind him, forming an intimidating sight for all to witness. Dream let out a gasp and a sharp laugh “Touch him! Oh captain I could do so much wo-” The man ranted.

A sickening squelsh echoed throughout the void. Tubbo felt his breath catch in his throat. The captain leaned over Dream, one clawed hand buried in the admins throat that spurted a mixture of black and crimson blood.

Dream went limp and the captain removed his hand, dropping the body to the floor before uttering the words that would change Tommy’s life forever.

“He’s dead.” The captain said curtly, his voice a mixture of awe and disbelief as he approached Tubbo, wiping his hand on his already bloodstained coat. The teen in response dissolved into a dazed grin as he ran toward Tommy who flung his arms open, they floated laughing with tears in their eyes as their foreheads bumped together.

“It’s over.” Tommy whispered as his tail wrapped around Tubbo’s leg.

“I know.” Tubbo replied with a soft smile.

Scott approached Dream’s body. His curiosity peaked as he poked the black sludge that was mixed in with the man's blood. Curiosity turned to horror as the sludge started to move, forming a ball the size of his head that floated upward. He watched as it fell to the nonexistent ground, vanishing into the void.

“Uh guys, Something doesn't feel right!” Scott yelled as he backed away from the body just as the stars around Dream’s body started to extinguish. Tommy and Tubbo looked at each other before turning to stare at Scott with faces of confusion.
Ranboo shouted something.

The watchers flew toward the teens, hands outstretched, purple eyes now dim.

The captain screamed, face twisted in surprise and agony.

Scott let out howl, tearing his eyes away from Dream’s body to stare at the horrified eyes of the two teens.

A black spike shot up from within the void, tearing through Tommy’s stomach and piercing Tubbo’s shoulder, it wrapped around the two and Tubbo let out an ear piercing scream, limbs flailing as it dragged them into the void, the group watched as they vanished from view.

The void changed into solid ground, no more floating but it was still an odd feeling being surrounded by starry darkness.

“Tubbo!” Ranboo cried as he tore at the spot they disappeared with his claws, going so far as upheaving the last of his acid to try to burn a hole in the unmoving space. Nothing happened. He moved out of the way as Scott tried to stab it with the diamond sword only for it to break in half.

This time a purple axe that had wisps of black smoke waving off sunk hilt deep into the ground, Ranboo looked up at the avian who was tearing at the void with both hands, purple wings tight and eyes burning bright.

The void just slithered back into place, not a dent seen and the watcher let out a scream of anger, mask crumpling to dust. The captain tried sending fire at the spot, but nothing happened. The two were gone.

“Well, well, well.” An emotionless voice snarled “You killed my champion.” The watchers stiffened and the whole group turned, claws and teeth barred. Their weapons quickly lowered, not because of the figure covered in the inky substance of the void but because of the two figures standing in front of them.

The two teens who vanished in the void seconds ago were now standing before them, heads bowed and limbs lifeless. Skin white with black spidery tendrils wrapping around parts of their body, squeezing tightly.

“Let them go!” Mambo shouted as he raised his sword, mask dissolving into dust. The figure tilted it’s head and the group watched in horror as different sized eyes bulged out from it’s skin. They all focused on the two hybrids before them, the green mixing with yellow and pulsating to an unnatural rhythm.

Tubbo and Tommy’s heads snapped upward in unison and Ranboo stifled a scream. The hole that the spike made when it tore through their body’s was now a mass of black that seemed to spread across Tommy’s stomach and Tubbo’s shoulder.

What was worse was the look in their eyes. All recognition was gone, their pupils enlarged and iris’s different colors. Instead of brown and blue they were green.

“You killed my champion.” The voice repeated “Now you get to be tortured by your friends.”

The duo charged, eyes rolling in their skulls, limbs flopping uselessly behind them.

Xisuma felt sick to his stomach at their uncoordinated movements.

They moved like puppets.

Chapter Text

He couldn’t move. Each limb frozen in time as he watched from behind a green tinted screen the horror that played out. Tommy took in small gasps of air. It was hard because of his lungs only expanding so much due to his body being paralyzed and it hurt. It hurt alot.

A cold laugh boomed through his head as Tommy tried to rip his limbs free from the invisible wall he was trapped in, bones popping as waves of pain swarmed through his nerves. He took a quick look through the screen at the still battle. The adults seemed hesitant to attack and huddled in a group. Tommy felt Tubbos presence next to him and his lips twitched upward.

The small involuntary smile lasted a split second before he felt his head fog up, it was like his thoughts were swimming in a bowl of thick sludge and he tried to jerk his head around. All he could do was a small twitch of his neck but to his amazement the green screen glitched and vanished.

It was like the wall holding him exploded into dust because he fell to his knees, limbs like jello.

“Help.” Tommy rasped, rising to his feet as he took a few small steps toward Grian who stood at the front of the group, axe raised. A sharp laugh pierced his skull, sending him flat against the ground with both hands tearing into his hair.

“He’s controlling him somehow!” Ranboo shouted as Tommy let out a whimper, rising once again. This time tears streamed down his cheeks and Grian watched in horror as the teen’s eyes flickered back to green, a large grin covering up the flash of a grimace that didn’t go unnoticed.

“Awww Tommy you disobeyed! Do you know what happens to puppets who betray their owners?” The void called as Tommy walked smoothly forward, stopping meters away from Grian who was pushed aside by Xisuma.

Tommy felt his eyes water at the loud black and yellow suit of armor the man wore. As he buried himself deeper into the thoughts of cutting the strings with him and the void, the phantom feeling of his hand gripping his other arm’s wrist tinged into his brain and set off alarm bells.

The retreating presence and flash of green vanishing before his eyes were the only warnings Tommy managed to get before his own arm viciously sunk his thankfully blunt fingernails into the pale white skin of his wrist and snapped it backward.

A shrill scream tore from his throat as his arm broke with a clean snap, it broke so badly that Tommy could only stare at the splintered end of bone that poked through his elbow, his arm fell to his side, blood flowing like a river as the nerves burned, blinding his vision with pain.

____________________________________________________________________________

The group was in shock, at first Tommy had seemed to regain some control but he was quickly swept under by the void. Xisuma shut his open mouth with an audible clack as the teen’s eye’s flickered back to green and stiffened himself for a fight.

No fight came however, instead Xisuma could only watch as Tommy walked forward, stopping before Grian. With little force he pushed the avian out of the way, taking Grian’s place as he stared down at the mind controlled hybrid, whose tail was ridged. He could see tears streaming down Tommy’s cheeks as the teen grasped his own wrist and in one sudden motion, snapped his arm backward. Breaking the bone and making it puncture through the skin of his elbow, blood filled his vision as Tommy’s eyes glinted blue and immediately filled with agony.

“Awww are you in pain?” The void moked as Tommy let out a wail and sank to the floor, arm dangling uselessly beside him, yellow and black stripes waved before his eyes.

“Grian, Mumbo. I know what we need to do.” Xisuma growled as he clipped the shadowy bow to his belt, leaving both hands bare as he strode toward Tommy, stopping an arms length from the teen who looked up at him with glazed eyes.

“Watchers, with me. Everyone else…” The avian ordered as Grian and Mumbo moved to his sides. “Buy us as much time as you can.”

“Alright!” The captain roared, teeth bared as he launched himself through the air straight at the humanoid shape of the void. “You heard the man! Let’s give it hell!” Golden horns interlocked with short brown one’s as Tubbo whipped into action, eyes burning green as he blocked the captain's fatal strike.

The captain hesitated, just for a second before allowing a scorching heat to rush up his throat. Tubbo growled and shoved the dragon hybrid away just as a blast of fire burned the air where he once stood.

Ranboo and Scott locked eyes and silently hatched a plan that was sent into motion as the captain jerked his head toward the void, digging his claws into the back of Tubbo’s shirt before taking off into the air with the goat hybrid whose hissing and growling didn’t go unnoticed.

With the void seeming to be interested in controlling Tubbo at the moment, Xisuma quickly looked over Tommy’s broken arm. It was bad. Bad enough that his watcher powers could only slow the bleeding, not fix the jutting bone.

“I have an idea on how to free the mind link.” Xisuma said gruffly as he lowered himself to his knees and wiped the sweat plastered blonde hair out of Tommy’s eyes, his concern growing as the hybrid made no movement with his ears or tail as he then gently pressed his hands against the side of Tommy’s head.

“Remember the one time we accidentally linked up our minds during the change of season six?” Grian nodded and Mumbo blinked before gasping, his eyes flared a brighter purple. “We need to try that but instead get into Tommy’s mind.”

“But Xisuma when we did that… We almost died just from trying to escape!” Grian exclaimed, panic filling the avian tone. Xisuma gritted his teeth, weighing the options they had. This was the only way, except…

“No.” Mumbo said harshly as he read Xisuma’s face, teeth clenched tight. Grian quickly realised what the two were thinking and moved to sit behind Tommy, the teen still ridged and losing blood at a fast pace.

“We have to hurry, let’s try going into his mind first.” Grian rushed as he placed two fingers against the teen’s jugular, each beat slower than the last. Xisuma cursed under his breath and held his hands against Tommy’s head, palms over his ears. Mumbo stood behind Xisuma, placing both hands on the admin’s shoulders before tapping once with a finger.

“Let’s start.” Xisuma muttered. All three watchers took in a breath in unison as they tuned out the sound of battle around them, a shimmering purple veil took the shape of a half dome, sealing them in with dark purple flames lapping where the veil touched the void.

Tommy let out an ear piercing screech as he struggled against the hands that held him down, eyes flashing green just as the watcher’s hand’s glowed purple. A ground shaking scream sent shivers down their spine as darkness enveloped their eyes.

It was like clawing your way out of the ocean, fighting the black tides of invisible hands that threatened to drag you under. One by one each watcher crawled their way out of the roaring sea onto a small patch of green soft grass that looked scarily out of place in the dark void.

“Grian.” Xisuma coughed as he rose to his feet, shaking out his wings to rid himself of the odd sensation of hands digging into his feathers.

“Alive, Mumbo’s also here.” Grian hissed as he stretched out his back, shaking each wing violently, glaring at the sea with hatred. If almost by magic the sea went still, then parted to reveal black sand that crunched under the feet of a lone person walking down the path, heading straight for them.

Instantly all three avians reached for their weapons, only to find nothing in their inventory nor attached to their person. All they could do was tighten every muscle for the oncoming battle they faced.

Why?

Because the lone person walking down the path, with no visible weapons except for a burlap bag slung carelessly over one shoulder was none other than Dream, green hoodie and jeans clean and mask shiny and new.

He was silent as he walked, stopping where the black sand met grass and looked up at them expressionless except for the damn smile permanently painted to mock them. Xisuma threw up a hand as he felt Grian stiffen up next to him, eyes blazing with fury at the masked man meters away.

Dream’s tail flicked as he drew the cloth bag from his shoulder, tossing it up high where it fell at their feet with a sickening squelch. Mumbo moved backward, hands trembling as he took in the blood staining the brown cloth, soaking into the grass as whatever in the bag spread a pool of blood in a circle.

Xisuma froze as he slowly moved his eyes to stare at the bag with horror, droplets of blood stained the white of his armor and he tamped down the urge to vomit, using his foot to lightly tap the bag that squeezed out more blood. His wings snapped outward at the faint feeling of something human like hidden in the bag and his thoughts swirled in his brain.

“What is this!” Grian shouted at Dream as he rushed toward the man, grabbing the cat hybrid by the shoulders, shaking him roughly. Dream did nothing except remain silent as he walked back into the black sea. Grian hastily took to the air to avoid the water that enveloped Dream, the path the admin took was now gone, along with him as the waves took him under.

“What is it?” Mumbo wondered out loud, hands still trembling as he examined the bag, stomach starting to churn as a rotting smell permeated the air making Grian wave his hand against his nose and Xisuma to cough.

“I know what’s going on.” Xisuma whispered as he turned away from the bag, pacing the island with vigor. “We’re seeing a mixture of our’s and Tommy’s worst fears.”

“This is different, way different.” Grian mumbled, “Maybe we should try our other option.”

Xisuma nodded with a sigh, “At this rate all of the buried memories Tommy has could make him go insane if we try to move any further, I doubt we’ll get far if he’s conscious in here.”

As they discussed what to do Mumbo cautiously, with both hands undid the laces to the bag and peeked inside, recoiling at the smell and not a moment later heaving onto the ground with tears in his eyes.

Xisuma and Grian looked at each other as unspoken words passed through their eyes and they stared at the now open bag with disgust, Grian’s fingernails tore into his sweatered arm and Xisuma’s mind ranted for Dream’s death and the voids.

They all reached out to their physical forms and released their hands from Tommy whose eyes rolled into his head and he collapsed against Grian who held him up at the last second. All three shaking off the effects of the traumatic image stained into their minds.

Because, in the bag was a bloody and rotting disembodied head, the head of the teen who was now splayed out in Grian’s arms.

“We have to, there's no other way.” Grian pleaded, all three jolting as Tommy reared up suddenly, eyes turning green and a cold laugh tore from the teen’s lips as a voice that wasn’t his own started to talk.

“It’s all hopeless, let yourself fall.” The void whispered as spikes started to hit the veil that protected them, bouncing off with force.

“Get out of him!” Xisuma shouted as he planted a gloved hand firmly against Tommy’s chest, calling on any higher power to assist him as Grian and Mumbo held the fighting hybrid down.

White eyes opened all along their wings that spread into the air, Tommy let out a scream, bucking against their hands as the three watcher's eyes turned white and started to glow.

“You’ll be alright.” Grian said softly as he gently brushed a hand against Tommy’s horn. The moobloom hybrid stilled and stared up at the red sweater avian in fear, eyes now glistening with tears as they glitched between green, blue and white.

All it took was the eyes along Mumbo’s wings to open for Tommy’s to turn white and start to glow. His tears turned black and patches of white and yellow skin quickly changed to grey and a light purple. His tail changed into the grey and light purple colors and grew a more pointed tip, shaped from a blunt triangle to a long dart like end.

His hooves changed back into human feet, and the cracking of bones filled the small space as his legs broke and reformed into the original structure of a human’s. The bone jutting out of his elbow sucked back in under the skin and reformed. Thankfully Tommy seemed to have passed out during the beginning, eyes fluttering as his horns grew longer, squeezing through the skin with a ripping sound.

Xisuma was in total concentration. Grian and Mumbo could only watch as the old language of watchers flowed from his mouth, growing ever so louder.

Tommy regained consciousness, eyes glowing white as his face covered itself with black tears. The three watchers watched in a mixture of awe and fear as he let out a shriek of agony, a shockwave making the veil around them shiver and vanish, tossing them into the air like leaves.

The battle immediately froze, even the void made Tubbo fly back to his side as he glared at the disturbance which was Tommy. For a split second Tubbo’s eyes flickered back to brown and tears trailed down his face as he stared at the twitching body of his friend.

“What did you do!?” The goat hybrid screamed as black tentacles wrapped around his neck, dragging him backward where he was pulled into the air and hung like a carcass, still fighting even as he was dragged back under the voids control.

“Xisuma.” Scott growled, eyes wide as a loud crack echoed throughout the empty space and he abandoned the threat, barking at Ranboo who held the man aloft in the air to bring him down near Tommy who was now on his knees, head bowed with bangs touching the floor.

“Did it work?” Mumbo panted, breathless from his attempt to stop falling into the ground as he hovered in the air, wings beating slowly to prevent him from falling feet first where he would easily break his legs if they made contact with the hard black floor.

“Only time will tell.” Grian said, his joking tone barely noticeable as he stared at the seizing form of Tommy with sadness. “His reaction is almost the same as ours.” He noted out loud. Xisuma nodded as he reached for his bow that was now attached to his belt. His fingers closed around the wood in relief as he pulled back the string, eyes glinting purple as a smoky arrow formed out of nowhere.

“Let’s buy him time. His body will grow accustomed soon, then the wings will start to form.” Mumbo ordered as he grabbed his sword, slicing it through the air and watching as it carved stars in half.

“When they burst through we need to hopefully be done with this mess and be ready to contain him.” Grian added, a smirk donning his lips as he took off with his axe, conjuring a purple sword and tossing it down to Scott who, with Ranboo took off to aid the captain who was watching Tubbo with an expression of pain as the void made them exchange blows one after the other.

Xisuma took the lead as he barreled through the air, wings snapping outward to jerk him to a sudden stop before he shot upward, freezing in that small pocket of time as his wings folded inward, leaving him those few precious seconds for a clean shot.

He released the freezing cold arrow, smoke billowing off as it whistled through the air and sunk deep into the largest eye on the void’s body, a loud roar made the sky tremble as the void tore the arrow out, but the damage was done because as he held it purple flames poured off the shaft and spread along the black limbs like a lit match touching gasoline.

It was beautiful in a twisted way you could say, the black figure clothed with purple flames and blood shot green eyes thrashing about as it’s screams tore through the ears of all in battle, all who were willing to put their lives on the life of someone they knew little about. And that someone was screaming as their spine was violently moved, ribs cracked as new bones and muscle formed, grey and black feathers were pressed tightly against the skin, until they burst through with the loud tearing of skin and a high pitched wail.

Grian cursed loudly, wings folding as he dived down to reach Tommy, only to be tossed back by another shockwave of power as the teen opened his eyes, which in a flash changed from white to a dark purple. The calamity grew as the group watched, Scott gasping and Ranboo almost dropping him in the process. The captain shouted something but it was lost as the sound of ripping muscle and cracking of bone filled the air.

Tubbo ripped himself away from the void, eyes now a dark brown as he kicked a hoof at the nearest eye, making the void scream in pain as the goat hybrid ran, flinging his body upward to the captain with wide eyes, hand outstretched with a silent plea.

With a sigh of relief a warm clawed hand grabbed him, yanking him upward with little to no effort and he found himself in the cloaked arms of the captain who smiled down at him with fangs showing.

“You ok?” Tubbo asked as the man quickly flew up and away, toward the watchers who seemed hesitant to approach Tommy who was staring blankly skyward, jaw locked open in an eternal scream, every muscle tense.

“Yeah, Tommy’s not though.” The captain said gruffly as he gently set the goat hybrid down, snatching the back of his shirt before the teen could run toward the obviously in pain Tommy who twitched at every sound.

“No one goes near him, understand!” Xisuma ordered as he watched Tommy slowly rise, one hand clenching his bow with stress. “What do we do!?” Grian hissed as he watched Tommy flex his wings slowly, apparently testing the waters like they all did their first time.

“We were too slow to contain him.” Mumbo chirped, eyes scanning the teen with blazing eyes, “But maybe he won’t attack us.”

“Are you blind Mumbo! We have a traumatized newly changed watcher on our hands! He’ll go for the weakest of us first!” Mumbo shook his head as Tommy’s head twisted to look at them, eyes flaring a bit brighter as he stared at their faces with no interest or recognition.

The white mask sat upon his face snuggly and Mumbo jumped as he almost saw himself in the reflection of Tommy’s eyes behind the damned ceramic. Scott and Ranboo joined them on one side, Tubbo and the captain on the other as they all watched Tommy flap his wings, once, twice then with a heavy flap he flew a few meters upward into the air, hovering with gentle wingbeats while his tail hung behind him, curling through the air like a snake.

“Be ready in case he attacks.” Grian called as Tubbo’s head whipped up violently, staring at the avian with a look of shock and disgust. “If he attacks?!” Ranboo yelled as Tommy swung his head to look at him with no emotion.

However his demeanor instantly changed once he caught sight of the void who was watching with glinting green eyes, one hand pointing at the newly formed watcher in anger.

“You're mine! All mine!” Tommy’s eyes flared, and Grian jolted as Dream’s face flashed across his eyes. The teen let out a loud snarl, fingers curling into fist’s as he threw out a hand at the black figure.

Tubbo screamed as black and purple flames bursted from Tommy’s palm, enveloping the void without a sound. His friend looked on without blinking as agony filled screams made the whole group grimace.

The flames slowly drew back into his hand before poofing into a wisps of smoke, before them stood the charred body of the void, eyes twitching and glazed over as it swayed, slumping onto it’s knees. Grian moved forward to stop Tommy who was moving forward without hesitation only to be stopped by Mumbo who shook his head sharply.

The teen’s tail whipped around, the tipped end striking like a scorpion at an almost invisible speed, stabbing and burying itself into the void’s eyes with no remorse. The void let out a gurgly laugh and Tommy’s body was hoisted off the ground as a black spike buried itself into his stomach, tearing where his wings connected to his back and bursting through his lungs and ribcage, slicing straight through to the otherside.

“You stupid watcher, I’m stronger than you!” The void chanted as it rose from the floor, eyes growing wider and the black blood slithered back into its body. Xisuma felt his lungs halt as Tommy’s head tilted backward, eyes fluttering shut and next to him Grian screeched, the sound making tears rise in the eyes of the others.

Before any of them could move however Tommy’s eyes snapped open and he tore the mask off with one hand to spat out a mouthful of blood onto the ground, he quickly replaced it however and to the voids obvious disappointment dug both hands into the spike and snapped it in half, ripping it out of his body as he rose into the air, the hole in his stomach healed almost instantly, his blood now glowing a bright golden color.

“It’s happening!” Tubbo cheered as the captain looked between him and Tommy with a wide grin.

“Wow.” Xisuma muttered as he watched Tommy slam the void into the ground and fling it into the air where Ranboo made his move, much to Scott’s disdain. The ender dragon hybrid flew up into the air, higher than the void and spat acid where it fell, landing onto the void’s body that crashed into the ground a second later, burning holes into the black shiny skin and making it scream.

“He’s a watcher, and a moobloom hybrid in one? And he still has powers that came in at the best time!” Mumbo said in awe as he drew his sword and with a nod to Grian took to the sky, both swinging their weapons down to cut through the void’s arm and leg that slowly dissolved into dust.

“It’s working, we're wearing it out!” Tubbo shouted as Tommy heaved the void up by its neck, the captain charged, head lowered as the void’s eyes widened at the oncoming horns that punctured through its shoulder and heart.

It twitched, once, twice then slumped in the watchers hold, body slowly turning to dust as the captain slid out his gold horns, now stained with black ink that fell into his hair in globs. With a quick concerned glance at Tubbo, scanning the boy to make sure he was unharmed, the dragon hybrid shot a blast of fire into the air in joy.

“We did it!” He roared, unnoticing Tommy’s hands start to tremble or the teen back away, fingers twisting and tugging at his hair as whimpers strained through the mask.

“Tommy?” Tubbo questioned with concern evident in his voice as he slowly approached his friend, hand outstretched like an olive branch.

“Ge-t, get aw-way!” Tommy shrieked, eyes wide and voice several octaves higher than normal as his wings snapped outward, body taking a defensive stance as his hands now moved to rip into his arms, golden blood started to stream from the small cuts he was making but it was no use because the wounds would heal the second he made them.

A sob tore it’s way through Tommy’s throat and his eyes danced wildly around as the overwhelming amount of power that flowed through his veins made its presence known with the feeling of his head being chopped open by an axe, sending him crashing to the floor with a shrill cry of agony, his hands tore at his scalp in an effort to relieve the pain but it did nothing sending him withering against the floor.

“It’s ok, just breathe.” A gentle voice wormed its way through Tommy’s ears and he was lifted into the air by soft sweater arms, his head felt like it would crack open at any moment, every nerve burned and his wings were as stiff as a board underneath him.

Exhaustion draped across his body like a blanket and he eagerly accepted it as sleep tugged down his eyes, burrowing his aching head into the chest of Grian as Xisuma opened up his admin panel that now seemed to be working again.

Silently he passed around multiple white strings of code and nodded to the captain who grabbed Tubbo and pressed a hand against one string.

“Take care of him, please.” The watchers nodded as the teens plead as him and the captain vanished in a swirling white light.

“I expect to see you four in the next MCC.” Scott huffed as he leaned against Ranboo who waved awkwardly before grabbing the code. The duo vanished not a second later leaving the lone watchers in the empty space of darkness.

“It’s best we take him home and place constant surveillance.” Mumbo stated tiredly as he pulled Xisuma and Grian who carried Tommy in both arms into a tight hug.

“Agreed.” Grian said laughing as xisuma wrapped his fingers around the code, and they basked in the white light as it dragged them back to hermitcraft.

____________________________________________________________________________

“Where in god's name have you four been!” Pearl shouted at the top of her lungs as the four watchers fell gracefully from the sky, all except for Grian who rightened himself just as he crashed to the ground, thankfully not disturbing Tommy who’s wings twitched.

“We shouldn’t have returned.” Mumbo hissed, “Now we have to deal with Pearl’s rage.” Xisuma stifled a laugh as Grian snorted loudly, the previous battle slowly draining from their minds.

“You shouldn’t be worried about Pearl, you should be worried about me.” Another woman's voice pierced the air as Grian rose, Pearl snatching Tommy out of his hands and rushing him to Doc who whisked the teen away into a nearby shop that was now a medical center.

Just as Grian was about to rush after Tommy he was stopped by a sudden presence behind him. Judging by the looks on Mumbo’s and Xisuma’s faces it was whoever spoke earlier and sent shivers down his spine.

He whirled around, coming face to face with green, white and red puffy wings that dispeled an odd grey power into the air. “No look Cleo we were just taking a trip into the void! And we ran into a bit of trouble soo… ” Grian said nervously, as an enraged Cleo stood over him, eyes burning a hole into his skull.

“You have a lot of explaining to do you three, let’s start with, oh I don’t know that NOW TOMMY IS A WATCHER!?”

Mumbo giggled nervously, Grian gulped and Xisuma let out an exhausted but happy sigh. “Yeah, this will take a while.”

“Well I have all the time in the world.” Cleo snarled, grinning as Tengo, Impulse, and Pearl slowly approached the three from behind, splash potions of healing in both hands.

___________________________________________________________________________

“You little gremlin! You scared us to death!” Jen shouted, shaking Tubbo as his feet were off the floor as the teen looked back at her with an apologetic smile and a shrug.

“Where’s Tommy?” Pat immediately questioned as he scanned all four of them for injuries, removing their armor that was now dented and cracked. Tubbo’s face lit up and he started to rant about watchers and hermits, names and faces Pat knew from a long time ago.

“Jeez, slow down kid!” The captain barked as he skillfully popped open a regeneration and health potion in both hands before shoving one into Tubbo’s mouth and the other in his hand. He watched proudly as the kid drained both, the black spidery vines quickly vanishing without a trace and the bags under his eyes lessened.

“Scott, can you and the other admins send out the message, Dream is dead and his corruption of servers is no more.” Pat gasped, cheering as Scott nodded, drinking his own health potion and tossing it to the ground where it shattered.

“I’ll also tell the admins of hypixel they’ll need their code to be fixed, I may have taken away half of the world chunks and added millions of barrier blocks to some areas.” Jen dissolved into uncontrollable laughter, legs kicking into the air from her spot on her back next to the stack of chests.

Skeppy snorted and started heading toward hypixels portal that was now lit and glowing. “It was nice to catch up with you guys! And save the world I guess.” Just as the diamond hybrid was about to walk through he was stopped by Tubbo who looked up at him with twinkling eyes, Ranboo feet behind him with laughter etched across his face.

“What does that heart mean?” Tubbo asked as he pointed at Skeppys shoulder, the older blinked and a large grin spread across his face as he traced the rainbow heart with a clawed finger.

“Me and my lover have the same tattoo, we also live on the same server. MunchyMC.” Skeppy said proudly, “I have my own server but I live on his to annoy him.” Tubbo squealed with joy before saying a quick goodbye and rushed off toward Ranboo who grabbed the ecstatic goat hybrid and dragged him back toward the captain who was in a lengthy conversation with Pat and Jen.

They all waved goodbye to Skeppy who tossed them a diamond as he walked through the portal, vanishing in purple sparks.

“I’ll miss that guy.” Pat said foundly as Scott also walked through the portal, ears twitching as he gave a curt nod to the captain, and a large wave toward Ranboo and Tubbo who eagerly waved back.

“Tubbo, Ranboo we were wondering if you wanted to stay with us and the captain on our server for a bit, just to rest and regain strength after everything that happened. ” Jen said patiently as Tubbo’s eyes started to gleam once more.

“Yes.” Ranboo pleaded as Tubbo also yelled a loud yes and Pat slung an arm over Jen’s shoulder.

“It’s settled then, just follow us into the hub!” The captain exclaimed as the group walked through the portal and into the long open corridor of server gates, all glowing brightly and healthy.

After a long trek through the hall they finally halted before an old looking gate. It was made from rotting wood and had small plants growing from the cracks, a large red lock was placed in front of it, allowing no entry except for when Pat pulled up the server list and added three new names.

The lock disappeared before Tubbo’s eyes and the captain pulled him through the gate. They exited into a large clearing, standing near the edge of a swamp. A large mountain range stretched to the far left and he took in the beautiful sunset.

But what was even more beautiful as they created the small hill into the miles long clearing was the massive area sitting in the middle of the grassy landscape, towering over them with what looked to be addons made recently, like six large towers stretching upward into the sky at the top of the arena, making it look like a crown.

“Welcome home!” Pat beamed as Jen bounced up and down beside him, tears streaming down her face.

“It looks like the original! And now it’s even cooler!” Jean squealed, racing toward the gate that opened automatically.

“Wow.” Ranboo gasped as Tubbo pulled him along, the captain sitting back and watching as the kids explored.

“Finally, peace.” He sighed, tugging out a white cloth to wipe the black blood from his horns. He reminded himself to take a bath later as he trudged after the two teens, a smile spreading across his face as the sun set in the distance.

“Skeppy your back!” A voice wailed in joy.

“Agh! Get the hell off me Bad!”

“Nope, I’m not letting you go anywhere! Not until you tell me why you left so suddenly!” Skeppy clutched his head and groaned as he fell into bed with Bad at his side.

“It’s a long story…” He said softly, sleep already starting to drag him down. Bad seemed to notice this and ran a hand through his husband's hair with a smile, his past panic now gone as he held Skeppy in his arms.

“Sleep, you can tell me later.” Skeppy looked up at him with glazed eyes before letting out a small huff, going limp as Bad cradled his body with four arms, six red eyes gazed down with a rumbling laugh as he pulled Skeppy closer and the two quickly fell asleep.

It wasn't long though because minutes later a white ball of fur tore it’s way through the house, barking all the way until it squeezed itself through the bedroom door that was cracked open, flying onto the bed with a growl and jumping onto Bad’s shoulder before tumbling off once the man moved and landed face first onto Skeppy who jolted.

“Rat!” Bad screeched as he rubbed his tattooed shoulder, the rainbow heart glinting in the moonlight as Rat attacked Skeppy with vengeance.

Or as much vengeance a ball of fluff could do at midnight. Skeppy could only growl in protest as Rat licked his face, nipping at his blue strands of hair as if they were candy. He still fell asleep, Rat sleeping on his stomach as Bad let out a groan of annoyance but followed suit.

The server was finally quiet for once.

“Scott, we were so worried!” Sky crowed as she twisted through the air to pull Scott into a tight hug, followed by all the other admins also crowding in to drag him into a group hug.

“Sorry for scaring you guys, I responded to an emergency.” Scott reassured as he weaved through arms to look for the nearest bed to fall into.

“Let the man rest guys!” Noxite grumbled as he grabbed Scott and pulled him into an empty room that just so happened to be his own, locking the door shut behind him.

“Nox, this is your room, you have no place to sleep if I steal your bed.” Noxite rolled his eyes and pulled up a wooden chair from his desk, sitting in it with a lazy frown.

“You idiot, I’m a phantom Scott, I can't sleep.” Scott laughed as he fell into the bed, sleep taking him instantly as he heard Noxite say one last thing.

“Get some rest Scott, it’s good to have you back.”

Chapter Text

A three weeks later~

“Are you ready Tommy?” Grian shouted from his spot at the base of the mountain as an answering call trailed faintly through the air and he released a loud giggle and Mumbo looked at him with eyebrows raised.

They both grunted as a hand pushed them forward, making them stumble into the small obsidian bunker they hastily created, plated glass decorated the front giving them full view of the looming tower of stone and the small dot that pranced around at the top.

“Awww Xisuma do we have to use the bunker?” Grian whined as he flapped his wings in the tight space, accidentally cramming the entering admin against the shut door. He quickly retracted the feathery appendages and stared sheepishly at Xisuma who looked back at him with a blank face as he spat out purple feathers and silently pulled out his communicator while moving past Mumbo toward the window.

“Alright Tommy! Let’s start phase one, remember what to do?” Xisuma ordered into the microphone of his communicator, that not a moment later blew up in static and the tinny but excited voice of the young watcher flooded through the room.

“Yep! Step one, conjure your mask!” Tommy yelled over the howling winds as he made sure all systems were working properly before clipping the communicator to his pants. The biting cold numbed his skin as he jostled his wings, shaking off the snow from the gray and white feathers.

He stretched one hand outward and closed his eyes, searching for the familiar call of the void. He grinned as it sang back, it’s tone calm and warm as the heavy weight of the ceramic mask suddenly appeared, making his hand dip.

Tommy stared at the mask, gripping it tightly with both hands as the purple eye in the middle glowed, the four curved spikes on the top and bottom also had their own little eyes and made him look like he had horns and fangs.

As Grian stated, he looked awesome and Tommy couldn't agree more as he slipped the mask securely over his head, his vision dimming as he closed his eyes.

“It’s on, what next?” Even with his straining ears Tommy couldn’t pick up the proud huff from Xisuma as the man paced the bunker, readying the next set of steps. “Good job Tommy! Now is the hardest part for every watcher, Grian will walk you through it.” The amused admin tossed the communicator to the ruffled and surprised Grian who caught it with wide eyes.

“Uhhh, I guess I’m leading now.” The avian chuckled “The next step is to concentrate, try to draw the void to you! The feeling is different for every watcher but you’ll know it when you feel it. ”
What all three watchers left out was that this step was also the most dangerous, and it was the reason they were hiding in the bunker.

Tommy shrugged as he cracked his knuckles and kept his eyes closed as his head throbbed, he blinked in surprise as a pure black ball flickered into existence, floating in his palm. “Um Grian? Is calling the void meaning having a floating black ball in your hand?”

“That’s odd, try poking it or something?” Grian replied with a confused tone, squawking loudly as Xisuma tore the communicator from his hand. “TOMMY, DROP IT NOW!” The panicked admin shouted just as the excited teen a mile above wrapped all five fingers around the orb and crushed it in his palm.

“Don’t worry Xisuma, Nothings happening!” Tommy cheered as he wiped his hands clean from the black dust, watching as it stained the white snow. He fell silent as the black seemed to spread across the snow at a rapid pace.

“Uh, I may have lied.” The young watcher croaked as his eyes flashed to purple, filling with fear as the snow around him was tossed into the air, the wind violently churned and a back tornado encompassed his vision.

Meanwhile down below the three watchers could only stare in horror as a black piller bursted into the sky, purple lightning scorching the stone and melting patches of white snow, illuminating a figure hovering in the air with eyes glowing brightly.

Before they could even step foot out the door it stopped, the black snow vanished in the sunlight and the rumbling of the storm silenced, Mumbo was the first to shake out of the panicked trance and grab the communicator that lay on the ground, hissing like a snake.

“Tommy?” The shaking avian whispered, wings twitching as he waited for a response. Static filled the room for a heart stopping moment until the loud sound of rushing wind carried through the microphone.

“I got the hang of it, Lets fucking go!” Tommy’s shrill voice pierced the eardrums of all three men and they let out a collective sigh of relief, peeking out the door as a gust of wind almost knocked them backward.

Grian squinted against the bright sun as a flash of red slowly made its way down the mountain, picking up speed at a rapid rate as it shot along the snow covered slope. Mumbo roughly shoved him and Xisuma to the ground as the figure zoomed overhead, feathers dusting their hair as Tommy barely missed them, laughing all the while as he performed tricks through the air. He landed on the top of the diamond hourglass with arms crossed.

He extended one hand out toward the sky and the three watchers watched in joy as black mist poured from his hand, forming a solid pole topped with three spikes that glowed bright purple.

“Bow before me bitches!” The teen crackled as he swung the trident straight at them, a smile easily seen under his mask.

Grian eyed Xisuma as the man took a step forward. He was more than ready to hear the disapproving parent talk as the admin held up one finger. To his surprise Xisuma’s hand started to glow. Even Tommy seemed startled as his admin slowly drew a hand across his face, mask appearing in all its glory as he snapped. A purple crossbow appearing in one hand with an arrow notched, purple flames rolling off the shaft in waves.

“I’m the king here kid.” Xisuma growled, wings flaring as he curled a finger, flicking it toward him as he taunted the younger watcher who jolted. Grian rolled his eyes as he donned his own mask, calling forth his ax that he swung through the air, purple blade landing protectively in front of Xisuma who didn’t blink as a sword hovered before his face, his mask glaring back in the dark purple metal.

The three all muffled laughs as Tommy spewed curses from above them, tail tying itself into knots. He raised the trident and it was like a flip was switched. The only warning they got was a sudden bright flash of purple behind the teens mask.

Time seemed to blur as the trident cut through the air. It was easily deflected by Mumbo who’s sword skilfully caught between the prongs and with a snap of his wrist it was sent flying into a nearby building.

A buzz filled the air as Tommy snapped his fingers and in a flash of particles the trident teleported back into his hand. The young watcher scoffed as he extended his wings into the air and pulled out a firework.

To Grian’s confusion Tommy lit it with a flint and tossed it into the air, where it exploded high above, showering him in blinding blue sparks.

“A king fights with his subjects, never alone.” Xisuma tilted his head as Tommy stared down at him, expressionless as he removed his mask. “So what will you do king when your subjects turn on you?”

The admin shivered as the young watcher's tone turned cold and a feral grin stretched across his face, purple eyes glinting as he donned the mask once more. Shadows appeared in the dark area from behind the teen and all three men watched in a mixture of surprise, glee, and panic as people started to step out into the light.

“Oh dear king!” A familiar voice called. Green and white dust blew into the clearing and Grian felt his heart sink as large fluffy wings slipped from the shadows, boots hung meters above Tommy as Cleo hovered above him, wings throwing dust into the air as she twirled a netherite sword in one hand.

“I’ll be the one to take your head!” Cleo screeched as she shot forward, multiple people joining in behind her with weapons raised. The three watchers stared at each other with blank faces because they knew every person on this server could do little harm against them.

“Can’t we have peace?” Mumbo exclaimed as he darted past Cleo, eyes playful as he twisted the sword from her grip and threw it to the ground. He received a blast of dust to the face, sending him reeling backward as he coughed out the particles, blocking a kick to the stomach with his sword.

As the air filled with chaos Grian was busy making a fairly large jail cell in the middle of the battle field. “All right, I think it’s finished!” He said proudly, swiftly returning to Xisuma’s side as they watched mumbo exchange blows with Cleo.

“All yours.” Grian said with a wide grin as he took to the air in a flash of light purple feathers. His path to Mumbo was instantly blocked by Pearl, Impulse and Tango who spread out around him in a pincer attack.

The watcher huffed as swung his ax in a wide arc, blasting the other avians out of the sky with a purple shockwave. With the three obstacles out of his way he had a clear shot at Tommy who was eyeing the battlefield with nervous joy. Grian tilted his arm back, wings beating at a gentle pace to keep him steady in the air as he twisted forward, ax flying through the air at a certain angle to harmlessly shoot past the teen.

To his horror Tommy stumbled backward to avoid Cleo who’s wings pushed him into the path of the ax. He didn’t notice how close the two were fighting and now he could only watch as the young watcher fell to his knees, a purple ax buried in his chest.

Cleo was the first to react, blowing a whistle as she caught the teen who slumped farther backward, hissing in pain as he reached up to grab the wood handle. Doc was almost there instantly, melting from the shadows as his red eye scanned the damage and his leathery green wings extended to cover Tommy’s face in shadow.

The battle halted as Tommy propped himself on both elbows and reached with a shaky hand to grip the wood harder till his knuckles turned white. With a loud squelch and a grunt he tore the ax from his chest, watching with little to no surprise his golden blood started to stitch his fractured and splintered ribs and within seconds the only trace of the wound was a long pale line.

“I’m so glad his blood still does that.” Xisuma said heavily as he watched Tommy rise and shake off Cleos dust from his clothes and inspect the scar. They would have to get him to change into another shirt Grian noted as he eyed the red and white cloth that now bore a long cut, edges stained with gold.

He was shaken from his thoughts as a trident whizzed past his face, sending his eyes downward where it embedded into the ground and with that the battle was restarted. With Doc now sitting in the light as he inspected Tommy once more before sighing and allowing the teen to join.

Cleo darted through the air to avoid Xisuma’s lethal arrows and she swooped low to snatch her sword from it’s spot in the grass. With a stab to the earth the battle was done. Well almost.

Xisuma paled as he laid against the dirt, with a cold netherite sword pressing against his neck and an enraged Cleo leaning over he couldn’t do anything except give her a smile. “Oh so you forget to tell me Tommy’s basically immortal!?” The moth hybrid snarled as she dug the blade deeper into the earth.

“Well I knew!” Doc called as his eyes swiveled to look at Cleo. Flexing his claws as he pointed toward Xisuma. “It was simple really, his colors had changed and now he has wings. But he still retains moobloom traits.”

“Also, when I took him to get his wounds treated they healed when we arrived.” Doc continued, finishing with a yawn. Cleo muttered something under her breath as she shook her sword free from dirt and helped Xisuma up.

“Long live the king!” Grian shouted as he raised his ax into the air, eyes narrowing as landed on the ground. “Can we kill them Xisuma?” he added excitedly.

“No.” The admin said curtly as he pulled up his commands and with a few tweaks and additions he sent all the enemy hybrids into the jail cell, all except for Doc and Tommy. “X what are you doing!” Tango yelled as his wings flapped furiously against the unyielding metal bars.

The area was filled with shouting as the occupants stepped on each other's feathers, all except for Cleo who glared daggers at Xisuma with her being the only insect hybrid and who’s wings didn’t touch the ground.

“I’ll take your crown!” Grian fell into a fighting stance as Tommy fell off the hourglass, catching himself with his wings as he shot back upward, spinning for a moment before stopping and throwing the trident that Mumbo plucked from the air as he flew up from his spot atop the cell.

Tommy glared from behind his mask as he shot his hand out, forcing Mumbo to fly to his side as the man gripped the shaft of the trident unwilling to let go even as it vanished from his hands and reformed in the palm of Tommy’s.

Grian tried to fly in close with the ax raised as he twisted around the two avians to kick Tommy in the back. He yelped as the young watchers whip like a tail darted outward. The limb wrapped around his ankle and threw him into Mumbo.

The two crashed to the ground with grunts and Tommy grinned as he caught a flaming arrow that whistled centimeters past his ear with his tail, snapping it in two and basked in the cold feeling from the lapping flames as they pooled in his hands.

Out of curiosity he formed a small ball and hurled it at Xisuma who hovered high above, a crossbow aimed at his head. The crossbow exploded into shards of black as the flames enveloped it and the startled admin dropped it.

Xisuma quickly regained his composure and took off his mask, a lethal grin etched across his face as he raised his arms. Tommy felt the hairs on his neck rise as the man started to chant under his breath. Grian managed to untangle himself from Mumbo and the two exchanged exasperated smiles as they sat and watched the show unfold.

“He’s gonna be dramatic again isn’t he.” Grian yawned as he flexed his wings, the feathers already growing dirty from the daily activities. He needed to preen them soon, and teach Tommy as well.

“Yep.” Mumbo said tiredly as he started running a hand through his feathers. “You wouldn’t have a spare cloth on you and a bucket of water?” Grian burst into laughter as he pulled the two essential items from his inventory and handed them to the man who huffed in anger.

They both uncontrollably shivered as Xisuma’s wings unfolded to their full length, white eyes opened from under the feathers in a wave along the top of his wings and his mask shattered in his hand.

Tommy gulped as waves of power secreted off the admin and he flung his trident the last time.

It stopped in mid air, silently exploded into purple particles and reformed in Xisuma’s open hand, the man winked and twirled it through the air in a complicated pattern before pointing downward to the cell.

Tommy felt his jaw drop as the trident pierced through stone and melted a large hole in the cell’s ceiling, revealing the wide eyes of the occupants trapped inside. Xisuma let out a sigh as he lowered himself to the ground. The eyes peeking from his wings blinked multiple times before sinking back into the black abyss of feathers.

“That was so fucking cool!” Xisuma chuckled as the young watcher flew circles around him, inspecting his now normal wings and trident that he let burst into particles and disappear back into the void. “How can I do that!? Can all of you do that!?” Tommy said rapidly as he landed on the ground, bouncing up and down before the older watchers in excitement as he shot off questions.

“You can later, and yes all of us can do that.” Xisuma stated, pausing as all other avians trapped in the cell roared with laughter. His narrowed eyes only managed to silence half before Tango let out a hacking cough.

“You sound like a parent X!” The man wheezed as he flew through the hole and landed with a thud on the roof, dangling his legs over the side as he watched with anticipation. Xisuma groaned and opened up his controls, deleting the cell and sending all the occupants back to their original spawn points.

The chat was instantly flooded with messages but all four watchers silenced the notifications in unison and released small bits of laughter as they fell into a haphazardly made circle. Tommy watched the clouds slowly pass by, his vision grew wider as his mask disintegrated into flakes that were carried away by a sudden gust of wind.

He blinked and his eyes flickered from purple to blue, the power he felt moments ago coursing through his veins suddenly leaked from every pore and sent him reeling, exhausted, and weak. He slumped forward, a hand catching his slow fall as he craned his head up.

“Your wings are filthy!” Grian exclaimed, arm outstretched to hold Tommy up. The teen jolted as he felt arms wrap around his torso and he melted into Mumbo’s touch as the man appeared behind him, running a wet cloth through his feathers.

Tommy started to zone out as Xisuma brought up preening, a word he never heard before and how it was essential to avian life. He quickly brought himself back to reality when the man started to talk about family and he flinched as Mumbo pried off a piece of dried dirt from between two large feathers.

The watcher muttered sorry in his ear and Tommy relaxed, almost purring as his wings were cleaned. “Anyway preening between avians is also a sign of bonds and family, you do it with people you trust. That’s why it’s so important for our mental and physical health.” The admin finished as he ruffled out his own feathers and pulled out his own cloth to dip in the nearby bucket that was now a muddy brown.

“Mumbo is the best at preening his feathers.” Grian pointed out, “I’m the worst, and Xisuma is mediocre at it even though he’s the oldest.” Mumbo puffed out his chest as Tommy stood, shaking out his wings that gleamed in the setting sun.

“They look awesome, thank you!” The three older avians looked in different directions as their wings puffed up. “Uh, I was wondering if I could see Tubbo and a few members of my old server if that’s ok?”

Xisuma tilted his head. “Of course, that’s fine. We'll probably see your friends during the next MCC anyway. ” The watcher said as he pulled out his communicator, scrolling through the different events on servers until a rainbow came into view.

“Ah, this one will be fun!” Grian chirped as he peeked over the admins shoulder. “What is it?” Mumbo questioned as he strained to view the tiny screen.

“Welcome everyone to MCC pride, teams will be released in a few hours so get ready to compete.” Xisuma read, pocketing the box in his inventory as he gazed into the setting sun with a small smile. “Alright, it’s time for sleep.”

Tommy growled at the mention of sleep but the tugging on his eyelids forced him to follow the trio as they walked, all three arguing on who he was gonna stay with until his base was finished. “I’ll just sleep in Grian’s house jeez!” He yelled, the words halfway cut as a yawn slipped from his mouth.

“It’s settled then!” Grian cheered as he grabbed the tired teen and flew them back toward the mountain to a large crevice in the side that spilled out light. The faint groans from Xisuma and Mumbo only spurred his speed as they slipped down into a relatively bright underground city.

“You know I can fly now right?” Tommy grumbled as they landed on a quartz balcony of a large multi story building in the middle of the cavern, surrounded by interesting and odd looking buildings

“Yep!” Grian chirped with a grin as he dropped Tommy to open the doors, the young watcher squawked in return but followed the man into the room and gazed around with wide eyes.

“This looks awesome!” Tommy exclaimed, ignoring Grian’s small huff as he based in the praise. The room was made of a pure white quartz with purple crystals decorating the walls. High above a large chandelier hung above, the purple crystals dangling on the ends seemed to absorb the dim light trickling from the windows and acted as lanterns.

A neat bed was tucked near the wall with a large bookshelf behind the headrest. A lantern lit up the space on a wooden table shoved in between the wall and the bed. A disorganized wall of shulker boxes took up the opposite wall and in the middle of the sprawling room was a quartz staircase that sprawled down.

As Tommy took in the scenery Grian was quickly opening and closing shulker boxes, pulling out tufts of wool and small planks that once obtained were hastily crafted together by a nearby crafting table. Before the teen could even speak Grian was already looking around the room with a thoughtful expression, one foot tapping against the floor.

Tommy watched awkwardly as Grian would move pieces of furniture aside and look over the room with an almost scary expression. It wasn’t until the man placed the bed down across from his own did Tommy connect the dots.

“Is this alright?” Grian questioned, gazing at Tommy with a small smile that quickly widened as Tommy gave him a thumbs up at the sleeping arrangements. “It’s perfect!” Tommy yelled as he darted across the room and gazed at his bed with wide eyes, it had been too long since he had a decent sleep.

Noticing the teen’s tired eyes Grian let out a low chuckle and guided the young watcher into another room, opening the doors with a flourish of feathers. This room Tommy didn’t notice until he moved closer to the back of the chamber. It was a small bathroom with a toilet and shower and he itched to feel the warm water running through his feathers.

“If you want you can take a bath right now.” Grian proposed as he waved an arm toward the shower. “Or you can sleep.” He added hurriedly as Tommy tilted his head back towards the door.

“Sleep sounds awesome.” Tommy muttered as he pulled himself out of the bathroom and onto the fluffy red blanket covering a soft mattress.

He fell into a dark slumber, a purple feather caressing his forehead was the last thing he felt.

“Let me grab the paint!”

“The last time you were ordered to go retrieve the paint you had accidentally made it burst into flames.”

“I won’t this time!”

“Xisuma go with him, make sure he doesn’t cause the paint to explode again.”

“The last time I went with him my feathers were coated in bright pink Mumbo! BRIGHT PINK!”

Tommy’s shrieks of laughter made the three men turn as they watched the younger watcher roll around the grassy floor with air tearing from his lungs. The teen’s wings flapped against the ground during the fit, growing even more dirty than before as pieces of grass and dirt got trapped between the fibers.

“Stop laughing!” Mambo barked, his tone more humorous than angry as he applied the last coat of paint to Grian’s feathers. He stepped back to gaze at the colorful piece he created with what little time they had.

“Are you sure you used the right paint Mumbo?” Grian asked as he twisted his head to stare at his bright colored feathers, grinning all the while as Mumbo proudly displayed his own matching set.

“Tommy get over here, I have to clean your feathers before I apply the paint.” Xisuma chided as Tommy picked himself off the ground with a huff and plopped down between the older watchers legs, stretching out his own wings in preparation for the bright layers to be painted onto his feathers.

He couldn’t keep the grin off his face as Mumbo and Grian stood side by side, wings stretched to their fullest as the sun warmed their faces. Both stared down at him with questioning grins as Tommy’s smile grew wider and he let out a crisp laugh, tail thumping against the ground with vigor.

“I think they look awesome!” Tommy chirped as Grian pumped his arms into the air, “I knew it! They look awesome right!” The older watcher exclaimed as he hopped into the air, the paint casting a mirage of colors around him.

All three of the older watchers had painstakingly painted their wings with thick coats of neon paint, in the color of the rainbow. They also experimented with their mask’s and especially to Tommy’s delight found out they could paint the ceramic, send it back to the void, and call it again without a single drop missing.
The paint they used was created by Xisuma, who found a perfect recipe of materials that would make the paint a neon color, easy to wash off and not stick to their feathers in clumps, nor make it heavy on their wings.

To Grian’s disappointment however they could not find a single way to change the color of their flames, it would always, no matter what, stay the same deep purple. Tommy pulled his head from his cloud of thoughts as a large brush started to lather on layers of pink paint.

“We look fucking awsome!” Tommy shouted as he tore through the air with his wings freshly painted. He looped through the air and around the surrounding trees with wings casting an almost blinding rainbow that seared the eyes of the witness below.

He had secretly painted his horns and tail the same bright colors that quickly became evident the minute he took to the air by a startled chirp from Grian. He finished another loop as more avians joined the sky with him.

The crack of lightning announced the opening of a portal at the nearby spawn. Tommy made out the small but bright forms of the other watchers as they dove through, vanishing in bright flashes of light.

“Go Tommy!” A loud shout from False diving past him almost made him fall out of the air from fright.

“Kick their asses’s kiddo!” Impulse hollered as his yellow and purple wings enveloped the sky, feathers slicing through the air with a snap as the man corkscrewed down, following False away from the portal.

“You heard him, go win another set of crowns!” Tommy couldn’t hide the grin on his face any longer as he nodded towards Tango who glided alongside him till they both hovered meters above the portal.

He dove without another word, spotting Doc and Cleo waving goodbye out of the corner of his eyes before he bursted into thousands of glowing particles.

The sky formed in a wave of blue pixels with clouds fading into view.

The landscape stretched out for miles, swathed in all colors imaginable. Different flags hung from every archway and building, the sand to the untrained eye sparkled with a multitude of glimmering crystals of color. Players walked around with a jump in their step and a flag in their hand, some wore rainbow pieces of clothing, others carried backpacks with flags sticking out of the sides.

The timer thudded to a stop as the large numbers ticked down to zero. Lasers and fireworks lit up the sky, outlining the forms of avians and other hybrids taking flight, dancing through the clouds with faint cheers.

All of that was ignored as a group of see through players materialized before him, bright red player tags all marked with the same beginning bolded word.

Shimmering body’s filled the air and Tommy couldn’t help but stare up in awe at the multitude of hybrids before him, all radiating power in waves as they parted like an ocean to allow a single hybrid through.

Brown hair faded into view as a goat hybrid walked through the floating crowd. A name died on Tommy’s lips as his body did the talking. He took a short step forward before crumpling into his friend's arms that encased him like a blanket, grounding him to the earth.

Tommy, for the first time ever allowed his voice to fail him. He didn’t need to talk to convey his emotions, the tears in his eyes said all the words in the world as swirling blue locked onto dark brown, the two colors clashing together as fireworks soared high into the sky, the loud explosions doing nothing to block out the shared words between the two teens.

Both who had been split with nothing but their hopes to latch onto.

Both who reunited in a reunion that would scorch the earth.

Both who traveled through hell and back just to see each other again, even if it was for a moment before darkness enveloped their hearts.

“It’s nice to see you again.” Tubbo whispered into the shell of Tommy’s ear as the watcher wrapped his wings around him. His reply was raspy but the wet chuckle from Tubbo was worth it.

“You ready to kick some ass?” Tommy muttered back as he slung an arm over the goat hybrid's shoulder, wings spreading outward as the ground shook from the dropped drawbridge. The grins from the surrounding admins unrivaled the blinding sun as people started rushing for the gates, flags hoisted like swords in their hands.

“Fuck yeah!”

“This will be a fun game everyone!” Scott called into the microphone, his teeth bared in a predatory smile as he crossed his legs in the chair high above the audience, his admins scattered in chairs below him all watching with expressions of pure glee.

He had to pull a few strings with Noxite to get these two teams to stay the same, but the end result was worth it he decided as the dogebolt arena pulsed with pure magic.

His rainbow dyed fur blew backward as gusts of wind shook the stadium, the roar of the crowd below rattled his ears as the last point clicked, moving one team up into the final spot.

“That was a close one, the yellow yaks were just a point off from gaining second place!” Scott announced as the two top teams were transported into the arena, it was time to switch the rules.

“Sadly the pink parrots mustered through! Gaining one last point in sands of time to fly their way up from third place to second putting them against the orange ocelots in this final battle!”

“Be ready folks in this round of dogebolt no rules apply except we kindly ask for you to keep battle within the box! This means all forms of magic and hybrid traits apply!”

The crowd erupted.

Scott grinned, eyes gleaming as he launched into the air, crushing a purple string of code in hand as he switched to spectator mode, floating alongside Noxite who in turn couldn’t seem to hold in his excitement.

The rest of the admins joined behind him as the two teams prepared for war.

“You ready kiddo?!” The Captain roared, flexing his claws that were recently sharpened, his scaled tale whipped behind him in tangible excitement. Tubbo watched with nervous glee as the dragon hybrid tested the sharpness of his horns that moments ago cut through a leather chestplate in the earlier games. Even the claws at the end of his wings could slice through the air and cut anything and everything.

Tubbo only had his stubby horns but he could deliver a kick from his hooves that could crack ribs. Something he was quite proud of. Ranboo on the other hand wasn’t a fan of his combat methods even though Tubbo swore he had seen the younger dragon hybrid use his stomach acid on more than one occasion during parkour warrior in order to melt the shoes and burn the feet of the contestants.

“You got this Gogy!” Tubbo cried as a sweating George appeared next to Ranboo with a loud pop, the fish hybrid rubbed his eyes as he shot a weak grin toward the Captain who released another burst of fire.
Meanwhile the team opposite of them looked eerily calm. Tubbo couldn’t help but frown as Tommy stared back at him with his mouth flicking upward, which in the rulebook of Tommy, wasn't a good sign for anyone.

Scott felt pride rush through him at the sight of the watchers' painted wings that were proudly on display.

“Welcome everyone team Pink Parrots! In second place and consisting of all avians we have Tommyinnit, Mumbo, Grian, and Xisuma!” Claps echoed around the arena as Tommy pumped his fist’s into the air, chest puffed out as he flapped his wings toward the admins who all responded with rainbow fireworks being pulled from their inventory’s and launched into the sky with loud bangs and colorful flashes of light.

“And in first place we have team Orange Ocelots, consisting of Ranboo, Georgenotfound, Tubbo, and Captainsparklez!”

“May the best team win!” With that final declaration Scott released the holding time on the bows that appeared in the players hands with a loud snap.

“You ready Tommy?” Xisuma asked as he crouched down, bow in hand.

“Yep!” Tommy replied cheerfully as Mumbo’s barking laugh filled the air.

“Maybe try a little bit harder to not cause property damage this time.” Grian called as he shot into the air, aiming his bow at the Captain with a mischievous grin.

“Just follow the plan for goodness sake.” Xisuma grumbled as he conjured up his flames that seeped into the fragile wood of the bow, his flaming arrow glowed in the air.

“I think it’s time! Don’t you?” Grian hollered as he landed on the ground with wings tucked firmly behind him.

“Let’s have some fun!” Tommy added as he closed his eyes as an arrow shot through the air, heading straight for him.

The audience watched in baited breath as the four watchers closed their eyes, hands extending in unison toward the ground.

Tommy smiled as the faint song of the void grew into a crescendo and he welcomed the heavy weight of a ceramic mask on his face, the bright colors no doubt stunning his enemies as the bow in his hand exploded in shadows, an arrow glinting in the sunlight as he shot the sharp shaft at the oncoming projectile.

He still had his eyes closed as the arrow split his opponents straight down the middle, earning a roar from the stands. Both halves shot past the sides of his face, embedding in the wall behind him.

The sudden blast of cheers flickered out like a candle in a rainstorm.

Scott watched on with a mixture of awe and pride as white glowing eyes fluttered awake from under the layers of feathers.

“We are watchers.” Xisuma growled as his eyes flared purple, dust painted with the colors of the rainbow solidified in his hand, forming an identical mask to Tommy’s that he pulled over his face, Grian conjured his mask onto his face with a crisp snap. Mumbo trailed two fingers across his forehead, the rainbow mask fading into view with a flick of his wrist.

“We don’t create.” Grian added as he slowly hovered upward, the pale eyes along his wings glaring down at the group of dragon hybrids who only grinned back, not out of fear but excitement.

Tubbo was trying to unfreeze George who took one look at the group with fins retracting backward and blue scales turning a lighter shade.

“We destroy!” Tubbo howled in unison with Tommy as they both kicked off into the air, bows loaded, one flaming with fire as purple as the void and the other flaming with the heat of light purple dragon fire, tinted an even lighter shade of green, courtesy of Ranboo.

“Aw hell yes!” The captain cried as he lunged into the air with a warm gust of wind, throat glowing orange as smoke poured from his mouth. Grian hissed as dragon fire blasted him into the ground, leaving a body shaped crater as he rolled to avoid another blast.

The captain barrel rolled to avoid being blasted out of the sky as arrows swarmed the air, Ranboo yelped as the arrow notched in his bow suddenly glowed purple and was pulled from his hands, George struggled to keep his own arrow from leaving in an fruitless effort as all arrows in the area gathered behind the watchers.

Mumbo hid a smirk behind his beard as he snapped his fingers together, lighting all the arrows behind them in purple hellfire. Tommy laughed coldly as the eyes along his wings blinked and with a flick of his wrist he sent the arrows speeding past them, straight for the players before them.

“George, do something!” Tubbo cried as he ran in circles trying to escape the flaming projectiles that hounded him into a concrete corner. He screeched as the ground underneath him started to blink a bright red.

“I got you!” Tubbo gasped as a hand gripped the back of his shirt, lifting him into the air with little effort. A black and white face looked down at him with an ear to ear grin. “Ranboo!” The goat hybrid yelled in relief as a blast of purple stomach acid from Ranboo dissolved the attacking arrows, the flames flickering out of existence.

“Good job kiddo!” The Captain praised as he landed behind George, who trembled out of sheer fear. “You better do something fast, goldfish.” The dragon hybrid growled as the remaining swarm of arrows peeled away Ranboo and headed straight for them.

“Fine.” George wheezed as he started to sing. All the arrows immediately froze midair and Ranboo gasped as the watchers started to shake, limbs trembling violently as they lost control of their movements and were permanently glued to the spot.

“You can control the water within a person!?” Sapnap’s faint shout of accusation and confusion brought a grin to George’s face as his fins flexed against his skull. “I learned a few tricks just for this moment!” George chirped, motioning with his fingers for the rest of his teammates to take aim.

In the blink of an eye all four watchers were staring down the pointed tips of their own void powered arrows with nothing but horror painted on their faces. Tommy growled but went silent because out of the corner of his eye a faded red name tag was slowly rising behind George who seemed to be tiring out, the pressure within his body seemed to grow lighter and lighter with each passing second. All the while George grew paler and paler.

The smashing of glass cut through the exhilarate cries of the dragons who were focused on the incoming point they would receive and their faces change to matching looks of shock as a bottle slammed down on George’s head, dousing the fish hybrid in a mixture of purple and green goo that sent George falling to the ground where he thrashed about, the poison hitting his system almost instantly.

The ear numbing pressure that forced the watchers into a paralyzed state lifted as soon as George fell and Xisuma was the first to notch an arrow and he fired. As the passing feathers tickled the side of Tommy’s face he snapped his fingers, setting the tip ablaze.

It sank into George’s skull with ease. Before the purple fire could spread from the arrow and encase George in a icy chill the man disappeared before their eyes in an explosion of orange.

“Anyone else?” Tommy smirked, twirling his bow in his hand as an arrow popped up in the middle of the arena. The eyes decorating his wings stared down coldly from underneath painted feathers. Tommy’s own eyes flashed a darker shade of purple under his mask as he bared his teeth into a fanged smile, his opponent boldly stepping forward.

“You're on!” Tubbo bleated, raising his bow, the Captain and Ranboo both hovering above him with determined smiles and the intimidating flash of fangs and multicolored sparks of dragon fire.

Tommy only smiled back as the large shadows of his teammates gathered behind him, wings spread wide with glowing eyes peeking out from under feathers as they clutched their weapons that were flickering with void fire.

Three feathers covered in red brushed against the back of his wings.

Underneath the layer of paint however were different colors, black, brown, and purple.

The colors of home.

Scott pumped his fist into the air as fireworks exploded overhead.

The admins watched from above with smiles on their faces as the winning team walked down the stage.

They shed their tears as Scott handed the team their crowns and the coin, many keeping their smiles alight as Tommy beamed up at them, crown sitting lopsided on his head and coin glimmering in hand.

Even Noxite started becoming emotional, quickly trying to regain some form of professionalism that quickly fell to tatters once the rest of the admins exchanged smirks, many taking screenshots to preserve the moment.

Their moment of fun faded in an instant as Noxite held up a black piece of code, dangling the glowing string between two transparent fingers as his blue and gray wings flared open behind him.

“If any of those photos get out to the public…” Noxite growled, eyes flashing a burst of neon green that sent chills down admins spine’s as they hurriedly deleted the photos, many shoving them further into hidden files for protection against their leader's wrath.

“You’ll get a permanent ban.” The threat hung in the air far too long as the group watched Noxite swing the damned piece of code in the air like a piece of candy. The phantom hybrid relished in each drop of sweat that rolled off the terrified faces before sighing loudly, dropping the detested glowing black string back into his admin screen that vanished with a flick of his wrist.

“Go celebrate, tonight is a time for joy without power hungry monsters ripping apart our server.” Noxite ordered, his frown curling upward into a small smile at the sad chuckles and giggles from the swarm of admins that quickly dispersed to the ground. Some kept in spectator mode to watch from afar but many floated down, pulling purple strings from their screens that were crushed in the palms of their hands, making their bodys tangible and seen as their gamemode changed from spectator to creative.

The majority of admins switched to creative and flooded straight for Tommy who’s smile rivaled the sun’s at the sight of the familiar red name tags.

“Tommy!” Skye called as she shot down from the sky, filling Tommy’s vision with nothing but black feathers as the crow hybrid enveloped him in a well deserved hug. Tommy returned it as a hand ruffled his hair from behind him. The three older watchers watched from afar as other players walked up to conjugate on their win.

“Your horn healed nicely!” Tommy nodded, looking past Skye who tucked in her wings, allowing the teen a clear view of a towering zombie hybrid, a bat, and a squid who all waved. “I told you Joe!” Tom exclaimed, guestring toward Tommy’s painted horns “It fused back together nicely!” He huffed proudly.

Joe rolled his eyes, a smile was evident under his mustache. Marko muttered something under his breath that only Tommy could hear and he wheezed.

“What did that bat say!?” Tom roared, easily plucking Marko off the ground, earning a facefull of leathery skin as Marko screeched in protest and battered his wings against the zombie hybrid's face.

The smell of gunpowder filled the air as Skye ushered the trio away, apologizing sheepishly while Tommy broke down in a fit of giggles. He jumped as a hand landed on his shoulder, announcing the arrival of more admins. The creeper hybrid Arran lifted his hand from his shoulder with a welcoming hiss.

“Nice second win!”

“It was a piece of cake!” Tommy boasted, puffing his chest out with wings puffing up, casting a rainbow around the group. He turned red as multiple admins chuckled, Arran among them as he waved goodbye, peeling away from the group to travel elsewhere.

“You did great out there!” Lousie chirped, golden and white feathers gleaming in the sunlight as she gave the teen a quick hug before taking off in a series of twists and rolls.

A wave of heat washed over Tommy as Stuart walked out from the growing crowd, red and blue goggles sitting on his face. The lens’s couldn’t block out the prideful tears in the blaze hybrids eyes however as the heat grew more and more intense he was forced to release the young watcher from the oven like hug, quickly running away to dunk himself in the nearby ocean.

The faces and words of praise and encouragement quickly filled up Tommy’s mind as more and more familiar faces showered him with good feelings that made a warmth hotter than Stuart’s fire bubble up within his chest.

He shook all of Harvey’s arms, the spider hybrid quickly dissolving into tears that filled all eight eyes.

He was pulled into a tight hug by Chris whose form seemed to grow bigger from emotion, leaving the two in a short but sweet contest of who looked more intimidating. Tommy won easily after he stretched out his wings and opened up the eyes beneath his feathers.

He exchanged some fiery words with Epic as both conjured up visions of torture methods for Dream, Epic’s were worse because of the heated grudge the man had since Dream kept winning Parkor warrior.

He was accidentally smothered in Lauren’s hug, the polar bear hybrid looking over him like a concerned mother as she checked him for injuries, deeming him safe with another rib crushing hug as he waved her goodbye.

Jacob, like Lauren, also crushed him, in a flying tackle so to speak.

Andrej shook his hand as bursts of heat rolled off of him, stinging Tommy’s eyes in the process.

Lamb gave him a high five, and Clint ruffled his hair.

At last Scott emerged, alongside him Noxite.

“You did good.” Scott said, watching as Tommy’s eyes grew large. He beamed as the teen pulled him into a tight hug, wrapping his other wing around Noxite to draw the phantom hybrid into his embrace as well.

“Thank you.” Tommy muttered, voice raspy as his words sank into Scott’s chest, earning a hearty rumble from the wolf hybrid who ruffled his blonde hair, now free from being stained red with blood.

None of them would know what happened that day, none of them would need to know.

For a second Tommy’s eyes drifted upward to lock into Scott’s and the two exchanged a wordless conversation as they drew apart. Noxite remained motionless but patted him on the back before vanishing into the sky with a snap of leathery wings.

“Tell the others I said goodbye.” Tommy nodded, his smile returning as behind Scott, the forms of his teammates ushered him toward the portal. “Come back for the next MCC!” Tommy flipped Scott off before he dashed off toward the portal, heart lifting as a familiar face was revealed by a lifting rainbow wing.

“Fuck you!” Tommy gasped for air as a fist connected with his chin, sending him staggering backward with wings flaring open to help him regain balance. “Fuck you!” Tommy retorted back with his nose in the air as he stared down an enraged Tubbo who, looking so angry Tommy swore he had smoke pouring from his ears.

“We could have beat you!” Tubbo growled, turning his anger onto Grian who outright laughed at the teens statement. “It was fruitless Tubbo.” George called from his spot on the ground, still looking pale from his earlier stunt with water. “They’re watchers, beings of unlimited power.”

“Oh yeah?!” The Captain roared from above, crashing and causing a small crater in the ground. His scales glittered like freshly mined rubies and his horns were still as sharp as knives. Tommy wrinkled his nose as the smell of smoke poured over him and he noticed the calm arrival of Ranboo and Sapnap, both lugging a tired George to his feet.

“We’re dragons George! Literal dragons!” George shot the Captain a glare, gesturing toward the avians with a look of utter boredom. “They were crafted from the darkness of the void Captain.”

“Which means good luck defeating us!” Tommy added, flashing his teeth towards Ranboo who raked his black and white hair back into a neat ponytail, giving the young watcher a kind smile and a thumb’s up as he and Sapnap dragged George into the portal.

“Let’s go Tubb’s, you can visit Tommy later.” Tubbo rolled his eyes, ignoring the Captain's orders as he latched onto Tommy’s stomach, Tommy wrapped his arms around the smaller teen’s shoulders and enveloped him in shadows with his wings.

“I’ll see you soon, gremlin.” Tommy let out a watery laugh at Tubbo’s weak attempt to stab his pride, flinching suddenly as a hand lightly touched his stomach. “Remember this?”

Tommy sighed heavily, “How could I not remember? We both literally got impaled together.” It was Tubbo’s turn to laugh sadly, they both had matching scars in the shape of a star on their lower abdomens that would tie them together for eternity.

“He’s gone.” Tommy let the words slip from his lips as the implications of their future suddenly came into light.

“We’re finally free.” Tubbo added into his chest, pulling away with hands gently holding Tommy’s as he guided them both toward the portal.

“Welcome home.” Tommy watched as Tubbo walked into the portal, his hands slipping down as his friend disappeared in a flash of light. With a tear rolling down his cheek Tommy turned toward his teammates with a wobbling grin and lashing tail.

“Let’s go home.”
