See, the thing is that Philza grows older slower than most people.
For him, months could go by in a blink of his eyelids, years passing him by with barely a shudder. This doesn’t mean he is unable to age, however.
As he runs his stained hand by his forehead, sweat dripping profusely, he bemoans his half-immortality. If he were a regular guy, he could be confined to a wheelchair and able to pass the gruelling manual labor onto his sons. Speaking of...Chuckling to himself quietly, he looks down towards the boy copying his movements diligently.
Techno’s pink shiny locks were stained by some wayward dirt. His red eyes are intensely focused on Phil’s hands as they plucked the earth. Potato farming wouldn’t seem like a fun task, but surrounded my family anything could become a hobby!
The man gets up, patting his legs from debris. “This will be enough for today, don’cha say bud?” He holds a hand for the boy to pull himself up. As they meander back towards their home, Phil spots his reflection from a nearby puddle. He stops their pace while crouching.
There, a man with a pinkette child were curiously staring down back at him. He immediately spotted what was amiss. He lets out a belly-laugh.
“Aw man! Are you ready to be seen walking with an old man, ey Tech?”
There, from his forehead, a gray streak was forming. He ruffled his hair again, to make sure it wasn’t just a trick of the light, but nope! It’s still present (albeit it barely visible).
As he lets back down his hand to grab Techno’s like they were doing previously, he surprisingly felt his son hold him with two hands forcefully. Looking down curiously he spotted his determined expression.
“No! Use dandelions dye or something- you are not dying! You understand me?!” He sounded so much more heated than since they came across those hunters. His heart ached to hold the boy, to assure him his Papa wasn't going anywhere, but instead he giggled while patting him on the head fondly.
“Ok, sure. I’ll keep ‘em hidden for you mate!” The boy’s innocent grasp of mortality was cute. As if Phil hid the grey hair that would miraculously save him from his lover’s embrace. He will play along of course, but it was still amusing.
Techno was giddy the rest of the day, happy to have vanquished another foe (in this case being time itself).
)))((()))(((
Technoblade catches him staring at a dirty mirror, dye staining his fingers.
They stand in a silence in the cabin. His hulking son approaches slowly, wide hands picking his own limp ones up gingerly. He squeezes them before pushing them on Phil’s heart. The blond looked up at the man with question, but his son only pushed harder.
“You don’ gotta keep doin’ that yknow? I promise I won’t get mad.” The monotone voice felt soft. Phil sighs before smiling faintly, washing his hands in the sink.
“Thanks Techno. I was worried I'd have to continue doing that until I literally died from oldness!”
“I doubt that will be the one to do us in Phil, trust me.”
