Saturday. Date day. It's been awhile since Xiao and Aether finally cleared their weekends to spend time together. They both agreed to meet halfway as they are living on the opposite sides of Teyvat, it's a three and a half hours train ride to reach Wangshu, the place very dear to the both of them as it holds memories of their whole relationship plus, their favorite coffee shop is where is it located.
Xiao arrived first, wearing a black turtleneck sleeveless under his casual cream coat standing on the usual spot just across the beautiful fountain. He leaned on the wall while checking his phone for his boyfriend's update. Not that Aether is late, Xiao is just 45 minutes early. And yes, he is that excited to see his boyfriend. Pushing his glasses over the bridge of his nose, he smiles as the name of his boyfriend flashes on the screen.
"I'll be there in 5 mins. I miss you, babe."
Xiao chuckled to himself as he replied. "Guess you do missed me too. But i miss you most. Can't wait to see you." He then hit send.
Looking around, he immediately noticed the blonde boyfriend a few feet away searching for him. Aether's stretched his neck as he twist and turn to look for Xiao. It seems like he missed to catch a glimpse of the latter with all the people walking between them from all directions. He dialled his number to catch his attention instead.
"You look like a lost puppy, babe."
"I'm not sure if i should be offended by that. Puppies are cute."
"Mhmm~ and so are you. I've been standing on the same spot for quite sometime."
Aether turns to check the opposite side of the fountain to see Xiao. He still can't as fate decided to tease him some more. A parade of cute animal mascots and musician suddenly came from that side.
"Xiao, i can't see you! Where are- Oh god! Look!" Aether gets distracted for a moment that his cute pout turns to a big smile as he the adorable mascots gets on his way.
"Aether babe. Haha. I'm here come on!" Xiao let out a laughter amused by how his boyfriend is equally adorable right now on his line of sight.
"Wa- i can't pass through."
Aether giggled as he pushed his way to still search for Xiao. He can't hear his boyfriend properly as the crowd and the banging of the music parade are too loud.
"Follow my voice, babe. Oh the puppy mascot really looks like you."
"You're saying that but that panda there reminds me of you. bleh." Aether bites back over the phone not exactly sure if Xiao heard him properly too. They somewhat understand what each other said over the line despite the drowning loud sound of the crowd.
"I think i should go to you instead babe."
"Yeah. I'm bad at this, i feel you near though."
The parade continues as the couple stayed on the line while Aether looking for Xiao as the eyeglasses wearing man decided to tease his boyfriend for his own amusement.
"Turn left- left!"
"Where? here?"
"Oh - i mean right, i'm on the other side! waving at you! see?"
"Eh? Xiao!! I can't see you!"
"You see the panda mascot? i'm across it!"
"I'm just here on the opposite side, i can't see you. qwq"
"Hahaha. babe, come on you can do this.""You're enjoying this. You're mean!"
"Pfft. I'm not, come on Aether babe."
"If i find you, i swear to go-"
"Xiao!"
Aether runs to his boyfriend and hopped to his arms causing them to land on the pavement. Xiao's eyeglasses was thrown away with the impact causing it to be stomped over by the crowd. Breaking it to pieces."Oh shit. Xiao, babe. I'm so-"
Xiao didn't answer for a good 5 seconds and snorted while hugging his boyfriend tight on the ground.
"Idiot Xiao, why are you laughing? I broke your glasses."
"It's just glasses. Not your fault."
"But how-Xiao cups Aether's face and kissed him.
"My boyfriend is more important."
Aether blushed deep shade of red at the kiss. He's a little shocked as Xiao isn't the type to do a PDA, but maybe he just missed him so much. Xiao stands up carefully never letting go of his shy boyfriend averting his eyes. He touched Aether's cheeks with his palm and then pinched it causing the other to eep then laugh.
"You're going to be my cane today. Help me pick a new pair of glasses and treat me some coffee."
Aether nods in agreement as he link his arm to Xiao's and intertwined their fingers. After all, their date is just starting.
