“AKAASHIII-!!”

Akaashi heaved a heavy sigh and turned around to face the highly energetic ace. “Yes, Bokuto-san?” Bokuto was practically vibrating with energy, and it wasn’t even 9:00 am yet. Honestly, Akaashi himself wasn’t even aware of how he put up with it.

Bokuto clasped his hands together, looking at Akaashi with the most pleading eyes he could muster.

“Can you set for me?? Please, please, pretty please?”

Dealing with Bokuto was, to put it simply, a headache. Well. Maybe more of a migraine depending on the day. The man was basically a reincarnated version of 12 cans of Monster Energy.

“Bokuto-san, I’ve already set for you today.” Akaashi stretched his arms out in front of him, attempting to loosen his muscles a bit, before sitting down next to the wall. “Besides, it’s break time. You know over-exerting yourself before games isn’t good.”

Bokuto tilted his head to the side, giving Akaashi a pout similar to that of a child’s. “But Akaashiii-“

“No sets right now. Why don’t you come sit, Bokuto-san?” He patted the spot on the ground beside him, waiting for Bokuto to inevitably comply.

The aforementioned man seemed to deflate a bit as he walked over towards Akaashi, his shoulders slumped and expression sullen. Luckily, he knew just how to fix Bokuto’s “emo mode”, and the less-intense variations of it.

Bokuto plopped down beside Akaashi, leaning back against the wall in defeat. Pouty and dramatic, Akaashi thought. As always.

“Mm… Say, Bokuto-san,” He started, scooting himself a bit closer to the other. Bokuto, however, didn’t seem to notice, as he was probably busy throwing himself a pity party.

“Mm?” He looked over towards Akaashi, still holding onto his very childlike pout.

“Do you think you could close your eyes for me?” Akaashi scooted over once more, stopping when their knees were just barely touching.

“Huh? Why?” He perked up a bit at this, the sudden curiosity causing him to forget some of his woes. “Don’t ask why,” Akaashi spoke, his voice now softer due to their new, much closer proximity. “Just do it.”

Bokuto nervously complied, taking one more look at the other before shutting his eyes tight. Akaashi leaned in closer to Bokuto, his voice closer to a whisper.

“Are they closed?”

A chill ran down Bokuto’s spine, the sudden realization of just how close Akaashi was finally setting in. He nodded quickly, the pace of his heart speeding up.

“Good. Now, please stay still, Bokuto-san.”

Bokuto froze up as Akaashi’s lips connected with his own, gracing them with a very soft kiss.

Akaashi had learned, ever since they started dating, that a simple way to perk Bokuto up was to show any sort of physical affection. While words could work in a pinch, they’d never work as well as a hug or a simple peck on the cheek. Bokuto’s love language happened to be physical touch, after all. And, though Akaashi isn’t always comfortable with PDA, he’d try to boost Bokuto’s mood with kisses here and there.

Akaashi pulled away after a few moments, making sure to scoot back to his original spot on the floor before Bokuto opened his eyes again.

“There. You can open now, Bokuto-san.” The flustered ace slowly opened his eyes, and, if it were possible, they’d be the biggest stars Akaashi had ever seen. Bokuto, who had been a sad mess just under five minutes ago, was now beaming, all his energy being seemingly refueled.

He let out a soft, embarrassed chuckle. “Ahaha- Akaashi, you didn’t have to- What if-“

“Shush, Bokuto-san. Nobody saw, you’re fine. No need to worry. Besides,” He said, offering a gentle smile to Bokuto.

“I don’t think it would matter if people saw.”
