Jason threw paper airplane at Marinette. “Pixie, you said 5 more minutes 15 minutes ago. It’s time to go now.”
“I can’t yet, Jay. I am so close to finishing this jacket!”
“You’re not even wearing it tonight!” He rolled his eyes and started folding another paper airplane. “Besides, this is a casual dinner. You’re meeting my best friend and two of my brothers.”
She turned around and pouted at him. “That’s not a casual affair, that’s a meeting that requires carefully planned strategy.”
He smirked back at her. “I told you already, they are going to love you!”
“First impressions are so important!” She whined out.
Jason didn’t know how to tell her that she had already made a damn good first impression on his brothers, and that Roy had heard every detail of her taking down Harley Quinn with a baby doll and a yo-yo. It’s not like you can tell your best friend that your brothers are the vigilantes who came in to catch the crazy lady who was holding you at gunpoint.
“Trust me, they are already impressed with you.” He grabbed his own jacket off of the couch and held out a hand for her.
“Jason Peter Todd! You did not tell them about the grocery store!” She had turned bright red and was staring right at him.
He held out his hands in surrender. “In my defense, they all wanted to know why I was suddenly hanging out with some girl from Paris.”
She glared at him. “You couldn’t have just told them that we met at the store and realized that we could be good friends?”
“That’s the point of the story! They know I’m drawn to violence like a moth to a flame!”
She groaned and dramatically melted to the floor just to lay there. “And now they think I’m violent.”
“No, they think you’re a badass.” He joked at her, laughing as she flipped him off for the comment. “But, we are gonna be late if we don’t leave soon.”
“Oh my kawmi!”
Set into motion Marinette was ready in about two minutes, still used to the fast turn around when she had to be at Parisian events as MDC, Ladybug, and Marinette. She could completely change her outfit and makeup at a ball in about five minutes, so getting into something presentable from her lounge clothes was easy.
“Okay, I’m ready.” She came back out into the living room wearing her favourite red top and black jeans combo. With black combat boots on she looked like the badass that Jason knew she was, then she grabbed the jacket that she had been working on.
“I thought you said you weren’t wearing that today?” Jason questioned her.
“I said that last night when I wasn’t sure if the faux leather would dye the way I wanted it to.” She shrugged and then put it on, when she turned Jason almost swooned then and there.
On the back of the jacket she had attached the Red Hood symbol, and though her long hair was now covering it, he knew it was there.
“So, uh, Red Hood huh?” He asked while trying to sound like a person.
“Oh! Yeah! I figured while I’m here I should try out some of the Gotham designs I’ve been thinking of. In Paris Coccinelle Fashions has a Miraculous line as well as Wonder Woman designs and they sell really well to both the citizens and tourists, so I thought maybe I could do something similar here in Gotham. Outfits inspired by their own heroes.”
“Vigilantes.” He immediately corrected.
“Whatever, I hear how people talk about them. They are heroes in the people’s eyes, even if they are breaking the law.”
She started to pull her hair up into a high ponytail. “Up or down?”
“I think it looks really nice down!” He rushed to answer hoping to keep her hair over the red hood symbol. He loved it, but would get nothing but teasing from his brothers and best friend. He didn’t need them trying to hook him up with his new friend. Even if she was really pretty and a total badass, okay maybe he wouldn’t mind being in a relationship with her, but she didn’t seem to be interested in him, and he wasn’t about to give up a great friendship over it.
“Okay, let’s go!”

I lived bitch: she’s a designer and is seeing if her designs would sell well in Gotham

I lived bitch: it wasn’t important
Pretty Boy is a compliment: who does she design for?
I lived bitch: that French company that just moved to town
Coffee is my life: you mean Coccinelle Fashions ?

Is your new best friend the girl who designed Jagged Stone’s concert fashion???
I lived bitch: she said she was working on a design for her uncle Jagged, so I guess?
Coffee is my life: oh my god I can’t believe she didn’t say!!!
Jason threw his phone onto his bed so he could ignore it. He could tell that Tim was about to fangirl over his friend for the next twenty minutes, and Jason still needed to get ready for patrol. He quickly suited up and headed out to where he kept his bike hidden, then he was off. Sure his new friend was a fancy designer, but that didn’t really matter to him. She was just a really cute badass who he was totally not falling for, and that was way more important to him than her knowing celebrities. She was just down to earth and genuinely wanted to help people, and she looked hot in his colors… okay he was falling for her, but who could blame him? That was a problem for future Jason though. Present Jason was just gonna finish patrol while avoiding his idiot brothers.
