    Claude’s mouth was set in a grim line as he read the hastily written note once, twice. It was undoubtedly his Teach’s handwriting, but Claude could tell from the way some of the letters squiggled and scrawled across the page that it had been written with great speed and little care for formality. Even the way it was addressed told him as much – it was written to ‘Claude.’ Not ‘King Khalid.’ ‘Claude.’

    “What’s going on, kiddo?” Nader asked at his side, and Claude took a deep breath to steady himself before he spoke.

    “Fodlan is under attack. Garreg Mach is under siege,” he reported. “The Agarthans have resurfaced once more.” Claude looked to Nader. “The Empress calls for our aid.”
