Ann shoots him a grin before turning back to the road. “Oh, you won’t be alone. I called your boyfriend, he’s meeting us at your place.”
Akira freezes, the world slowing and then speeding up an instant later, and he turns to Ann so fast something in his neck actually clicks.
“Wha-why?” he says, a little frantic and he sees Ann frown even as she doesn’t take her eyes off the road.
“Because you’re hurt and your phone is at home. You don’t want me or Ryuji hanging around you, but the doctor said you need someone. So I called Goro,” she says.
Akira groans. “That’s worse,” he says, wringing his hands a little as he begins to worry.
