Work Text:

“Okay, we’re going over the rules one more time.” Tim was standing at the front of the room glaring at the rest of the occupants. “No biting,” he said staring at Marinette. “No weapons,” he addressed Jason. “No kicking,” he addressed Cass. “No animals on controllers.” This was addressed to Damian. “And finally, no leaning over other players and pushing their buttons.”

Marinette threw a piece of popcorn at him, “and no getting Babs to hack into our controllers and making us swerve into shells!”

Tim glared back at her. “You can’t prove anything.”

“Tim, she was hit by a green shell six times last round.” Jason shot back. “If you’re going to cheat at least pick someone who isn’t blessed by a goddess of luck.”

“No using luck to win either!” Dick spoke up throwing popcorn at Marinette.

“You know I don’t need luck to beat you all.”

“Prove it, take off the earrings!” Tim stood in front of her with a hand out.

She just smirked at him. “Don’t have to.” She held up her hand with Plagg’s ring on it. “Adrien and I switched earlier today before his interview and we haven’t changed back.”

Plagg came out laughing from where he had been hiding. “Oh you got them so good Pigtails!”

“Well, well! If you have Plagg then your bad luck could cause the green shells to hit you!” Tim countered, still trying to maintain his innocence.

“Nah, doesn’t work like that kid. She would have to bond with me longer or get a ‘blessing’ to get my bad luck.” he raised his paws up making what they assumed were quotations around the word blessing.

“Adrien has Tikki?” Cass asked.

“Sugarcube gives out blessings to that kid like they’re candy.” Plagg floated over to steal some of the cheese from Marinette’s sandwich.

“So wait… you mean we’re all cheating?” Dick looked around at the room.

“Pretty much.” Marinette shrugged.

Jason put his head on top of Marinette’s and smiled, “bet you we’re still gonna win though.”

“You’re down by like 3 rounds,” Tim responded.

“Let’s make it interesting,” Marinette said with a smirk.

“We already agreed, no betting, it’s a bragging rights competition-” Tim started in on the prepared speech he had written.

“Whoever loses brings coffee to patrol for the next month,” Marinette interrupted him.

“Deal.” Tim held out a hand.

“Let the war begin.” Marinette shook his hand and smiled back at Jason who had their secret weapon. He was the one with Tikki’s blessing right now.

He turned and kissed her, “You’re playing so dirty,” he whispered in her ear.

“You love it when I play dirty.” She whispered back.

“I love watching you win.” He kissed her again.

Damian started gagging and kicked Jason in the side. “Todd, you’re being disgusting, stop kissing your girlfriend and start the next round!”
