Will just finished class when he entered the cafeteria. He was looking for a certain human, until he saw the familiar pale skin, and beautiful black silky hair. Will was about to get food when he saw a certain vampire with sea green eyes approach Nico.
Will out of instinct, immediately ran and sat beside his friend, Nico who jumped in shock. When he saw Will, he glared at him, “I can handle myself, Will.”
Will chuckled then rubbed the back of his neck nervously, “Sorry, just instinct.”
Nico rolled his eyes, “Your defensive of me now, but when you find the one you’ll imprint on, then I’ll be nothing more than an acquaintance to you.” There was bitterness in Nico’s tone as he said it.
Before Will could reply, Percy was in front of their table, “Hey guys, me and Annabeth are inviting friends over for a game of baseball, want to join us?”
Will chuckled, “A game of baseball with vampires? That seems very unfair.”
Percy raised his hand defensively, “Hey don’t underestimate yourself, you werewolves are quite good too.”
Will hummed, “I’ll think about it. Wait, is Annabeth gonna join? Isn’t it unfair for the humans?”
Percy shook his head, “Nope they’re just gonna watch.” He then looked at Nico, “You could watch too.”
Nico narrowed his eyes on Percy, “I guess my presence would depend on Will here.”
Percy rolled his eyes in amusement, “Alright then.” He then muttered under his breath, “I won’t be surprised if Will here is just one of those who imprint late.”
Nico glared at him, “What is that?”
Will then smiled at Percy, “I hope so man.”
Nico then looked at Will incredulously, “What?”
Both Percy and Will shook their heads, “Nothing.” Percy then said goodbye then left Nico and Will at their table. Will stared at Nico, then Nico met his eyes, that’s when an unfamiliar yet warm feeling hit Will. Everything he likes and loves suddenly flashed through his memories; sunflowers, guitars, the smell of disinfectant, the sound of a steady heartbeat, Nico’s smile, Nico’s laugh, Nico’s hair, and basically everything about Nico.
Will gasped then Nico looked at Will with concern, “Will? Are you alright?”
Will was trying to steady his breathing, he met Nico’s eyes again, but this time he felt something different. There was a sense of protectiveness and affection that comes with it. Will then shook his head, then buried it in his hands as he said, “Uh- Sudden headache, I’m gonna go to the clinic.”
Nico was still looking worriedly at him but he nodded, “Need help getting there?”
Will shook his head then smiled at him, “No thanks but I’ll be fine.”
Nico nodded, “Alright, I’ll come over after class to check on you.”
Will smiled appreciatively then headed out of school into the woods to find his pack instead of the clinic. He had an idea about what just happened, he just wasn’t sure if that was really what he think it is, and so he had to ask elderlies to confirm it.
--- After Class ---
Nico went straight to the clinic, only to find out that Will wasn’t there, with a sigh, he went for a walk in the woods. It helps him clear his thoughts and relieve his stresses. Apparently, he was too deep in though that he went deeper into the forest than he used to. Too deep for his liking. Not that he’s that concern, vampires around here is as friendly as his past crush, Percy. Nico then shrugged it off then tried to recall how to get back to town. That’s when he heard rustling around him.
Nico felt goosebumps, he never really encountered human blood sucking vampires around this town before. He did once, but Will was with him that time, and since his best friend was a werewolf, he was quite safe. Now that he’s alone, he didn’t stand a chance.
Nico couldn’t take it anymore, so he gathered up all the courage he has then called out, “If you’re here to eat me, then stop being a coward and come out already!”
A blonde pale figure came out, his eyes were close, but he was smirking evilly. Nico reached for the lighter in his pockets as he slowly back away. The vampire must have heard his footsteps, for he suddenly opened his eyes, revealing red eyes. He chuckled coldly at him, “You really think a lighter would kill me, human?”
Nico tried to step back again, but the vampire ran towards him then grabbed into his arm with a cruel smile, “Your blood smells really good.”
Nico glared at the vampire, “You wouldn’t want to hurt me. I have vampire and werewolf friends that will hunt you if you dare lay a finger on me.”
The vampire just laughed coldly, “You’re a feisty one, huh? Too bad I’ll have to eat you now.” Just as the vampire was about to bite into Nico’s skin, a ginger blonde haired wolf pounced at him from the side. The vampire quickly recovered then threw the wolf to a nearby tree.
Nico gasped as he recognized the wolf’s blue eyes, “Will!” He ran towards his friend, as soon as he got to Will, the vampire started to run towards him, luckily the rest of Will’s pack came in between them and the vampire.
Will whimpered from beside Nico, but he tried to stand up and began to walk towards his pack. Nico tried to stop him, “You’re injured!” Will didn’t listen though, he even stood beside the leader of the pack, which he assumed was Jason. A black wolf that he assumed was Austin then gestured for him to hide beyond the trees, and so he obliged. The pack of wolves then savagely killed the vampire sooner than later. Once they did, the pack dissolved, all that’s left was Jason and Will who turned back to human in front of him.
Will leaned on the tree Nico was hiding on while holding his arm in pain. Nico looked at him concernedly. Jason then smiled at them, “Looks like you hit the jackpot, Will.”
Will chuckled despite the pain, “I’m glad.”
Nico glared at Jason, “How could you joke when he’s hurt like this!”
Jason then began to treat Will’s wounds, “There, he’ll be alright.”
That’s when they heard rustling. They all tensed, then Jason sniffed at his surrounding before relaxing, “It’s friends.”
Nico relaxed too when Percy, Leo, and Calypso showed up, but Will seemed to shake in anger.
Percy smiled at Nico, “We heard what happened. Are you alright?”
Before Nico could reply, Will shoved Percy to his surprise, “How dare you show up with that easy going attitude of yours when one of your kind nearly got Nico?”
Percy raised his hand defensively then looked at Jason for help. Jason just chuckled, “Oh, I remembered when I imprinted on Piper.”
Percy then made a face of understanding as he faced Will who was pinning him to a tree, “Look man, I’m sorry. We should’ve sensed his presence earlier but believe me when I say that I don’t want Nico to be hurt as much as you. He’s my friend too.”
Will breathed in then out, then let go of Percy, “Sorry, it’s just…”
Percy nodded in understanding, “I understand, it’s the nature of imprinting, right? To be defensive of your imprintee.”
Will nodded, “Yeah.”
Nico then looked at Percy, Will, and Jason, “Umm, guys… You do know I can hear you, right?” Nico was blushing at this point.
The realization made Will blush, and Percy and Jason laugh. Jason patted Will in the back, “Well, we’ll leave you two, better break the news to him.”
Percy smiled, “I knew it! Will was just late!” He then faced Leo from the background, “Pay up, Leo. I was right!”
Calypso rolled his eyes at Leo, “I can’t believe it’s been hundred of years and you still lose bets to Percy.” The group then left, leaving only Will and Nico.
Nico faced Will as he rubbed the back neck, “Sooo, you imprinted, huh?”
Will nodded, “Looks like it. I mean we don’t have to be in a relationship if you’re not, you know, into guys. We could remain bestfriends still.”
Nico rolled his eyes as he muttered, “And I thought I was a dense one.”
Will’s eyes widened, “Wait, are you implying…?”
Nico chuckled, “I definitely am.”
Will smiled at him then leaned his head on Nico’s. Nico smiled, “Oh Solace, I thought you had someone else out there that you may imprint on, that’s why I never said anything.”
Will smirked, “Good thing I imprinted on you then, because I definitely like you more than I can express.”
Nico rolled his eyes, “Shut up and kiss me already, Solace.” Will smirked then closed the distance between them.
When they pulled away, Nico pretended to ponder, “I think I can get used to this.”
Will smirked in amusement, “Me too, love.”
Nico blushed at the nickname, then they were kissing again.
