Will just finished his shift in the infirmary after a night of Capture the Flag. It was already near midnight, luckily for him, Nico was waiting outside the infirmary to walk him to his cabin, since the harpies seem to ignore him, probably because of his death aura.
Once Will finished cleaning up and closing the door, Nico took his hand then started to pull him towards his cabin, “Everything alright, sunshine?”
Will nodded with an exhausted smile, “Yeah, just tired.”
Nico hummed as he opened the door, then Will immediately plopped into Nico’s bed. Nico sighed, “You didn’t even bother changing clothes, Solace. Now, you’re gonna get my sheets dirty!”
Will chuckled then stood up, “Geez, no need to be a drama king.” Will then grabbed some clean clothes he kept in the Hades cabin for nights like this.
Nico glared at him, “Take that back.”
Will went straight to the bathroom to wash up, but before that, “Nah!” He then stuck a tongue out at Nico. Nico threw a pillow at him, but Will already closed the door to the bathroom.
Once Will came out of the bathroom, he saw Nico deep in thought while sitting on his bed. Will sat beside him, “What are you thinking about so late in the night?”
Nico met his gaze with a smirk, “Let’s go on a date.”
Well that came out of nowhere, and it definitely surprised Will, “Now?”
Nico nodded then a thought seemed to pass him as he muttered, “Stupid time difference.”
Will looked at him questioningly, “What?”
Nico just shook his head as he said, “What time do you finish your shift tomorrow?”
Will pondered for awhile before answering, “Noon, I have the morning shift tomorrow.”
Nico hummed in content, “That’s perfect. Meet me after your shift. Don’t bother about lunch, I’ll take care of it.”
Will smiled softly, “Alright then. Well, I better catch some sleep now, so that I don’t doze off tomorrow.”
Nico nodded, “You better.”
Will chuckled as he laid down on Nico’s bed, “Alright love, but I can’t sleep without your cuddles.”
Nico rolled his eyes but laid down beside Will anyways, before they know it, they were both already asleep.
--- The Next Day ---
It was nearly noon, and Nico tried to dress to impress without making it obvious. He wore a long-sleeved black V-neck shirt that has a white and black striped pocket on the side. He then wore a denim skinny jean, then his usual black and white converse sneakers.
When there was a knock at his cabin, Nico opened it with a gasp as he saw his boyfriend trying to dress up as well. Will wore a blue and green checkered shirt wherein he left one button on the top unbuttoned. He was wearing denim jeans, and plain white rubber shoes. Nico chuckled, “William Andrew Solace, I never thought that I’ll ever see you in your full southern, country glory.”
Will snorted, “You look good too, love.” And that made Nico blush. Will then leaned in to kiss Nico on the cheek which made Nico blush more. Will smirked as he asked, “So, where are you kidnapping me to?”
Nico smirked, “That’s gonna be a surprise.” He then reached his hand out to Will.
Will’s eyes widened, “Oh no, we’re not shadow travel-” before Will could finish his sentence though, Nico grabbed his arm, then they were swallowed by the shadows.
They came out on a sidewalk in Venice, Italy. Nico smiled proudly at his perfect target, and how he didn’t even feel that tired, maybe he is getting stronger. He then looked at Will who was swaying a bit, “Gods, I doubt I’ll ever get used to that.” He then started to look around then gasped, “Please don’t tell me you just shadow travelled us nearly half-way across the world.”
Nico rolled his eyes, “I feel fine Will.”
Will narrowed his eyes at him, “Last time you did that, you almost faded!”
Nico huffed, “Last time, I had a giant statue with me, and I was exhausted from the events before I did that and that I haven’t been eating properly for months! Now, I have a really stubborn doctor boyfriend who freaks out if I dare miss a meal and is really protective when it comes to the activities I do, so I think I’m perfectly fine and healthy or else I would’ve been napping now, which would indicate that you failed to put me into shape. Since, I’m not even feeling exhausted now, I guess it’s safe to say that my doctor boyfriend has succeeded in his endeavors.”
Will then smiled at this as he nudged Nico, “Well, if you put it that way, I guess I can shrug it off. Plus, gods, were in Venice! It’s so beautiful here!”
Nico smiled, “Just wait until it gets darker. C’mon, let’s get some early dinner, or lunch in our case since we just jumped through time zones, then you’ll see the true beauty of Venezia.”
Will chuckled as he grabbed Nico’s hand, “Alright then. I really love that Italian accent, by the way.”
Nico blushed at this as he led Will towards a restaurant. After they ate, Nico dragged them towards one of the bridges that gives a view of the Grand Canal. Will gasped at the view, “Woah, this is beautiful.” He was staring in awe at the canal which was lit up by lights of the city, and the boats. The lights were reflecting the Canal, making it look like the water’s glowing too.
Will then pointed to one of the boats, “I wanna get on one.”
Nico can’t help but smile at how Will was acting like such a child, because it was just so adorable. Nico hummed before saying, “I have a better idea.”
Will looked at him questioningly, but Nico only shrugged, “But first, let’s get some gelato. It would be more romantic that way.”
Will smirked, “When were you the romantic one, love?”
Nico rolled his eyes, “Oh, shut up, Solace!” He then dragged them to a gelato store. Nico got dark chocolate gelato while Will got himself the mint chocolate one. After that Nico blindfolded Will, he led him into something sturdy. Once Will was settled, Nico removed the blind fold, then Will gasped for like the nth time that day since he was sitting in a gondola. “Gelato and aa gondola ride in Venice? Gods, this is romantic!”
Nico winked at him, “Anything for the person who makes me happy.” He then turned to the guy who was going to stir the gondola, “Siamo sistemati. Il percorso più lungo che puoi prendere, per favore.” (We’re settled. The longest route you can take, please.) The guy nodded then they were off.
Will then smiled at Nico as their gondola were off in the Grand Canal, “The view is more beautiful from down here.”
Nico smiled back, “I know. You better eat your gelato before it melts.”
Will nodded then took a spoon of his gelato as he looked around in awe. Nico smiled at his boyfriend also looked as beautiful as the Grand Canal. The light bounced off his beautiful blonde hair, plus, it makes his blue eyes sparkle, matching the enthusiasm and excitement within them.
Will then looked at Nico, “Do you realize that your accent grown stronger while we’re here even if you are talking in English?”
That took Nico by surprised, “Really?”
Will chuckled, “Yeah, and I think it’s cute.”
Nico rolled his eyes, “Dork.”
Will just smiled at him, “I hope this night never ends.”
Nico nodded, “Me neither.” The two boys met each other’s gaze before leaning in slowly, then eventually kissing. They spent the rest of the ride holding each other’s hand, eating their gelato, then just staring at the scenery in awe.
When they went back to camp, it was nearly dinner time, but the two were exhausted from their day, and so they went back to the Hades cabin, cuddled then slept in each other’s arms. Before they fell asleep though, Nico whispered, “Ti Amo, Mio Sole.” (I love you, my sun.)
Will hummed sleepily as he whispered back, “I love you too, my love. Thanks for the wonderful day.” Then they both fell asleep.
