“Maddie, it’s been torture! I don’t know how much longer I can do this.”
Buck told her everything: the shirtlessness, the movie nights, the cold showers, the grocery runs, Eddie sleeping in the next room, the life they had crafted together—it all came tumbling out.
“This is all I’ve ever wanted, Maddie,” he breathed. “How was I supposed to know that the person I wanted it all with was Eddie?” Even he could hear how miserable, how pathetic, his voice had become. “And now it’s different, because I have it, but it’s not real.”
Those were the worst moments—when Buck slipped in too deep and forgot that this wasn’t really happening. That Eddie wasn’t living with him forever. That while Buck was living out his fantasy, Eddie was stuck in a waiting room until he could return to his real life—one that suddenly contained a lot more people and a lot less Buck within it.

Eddie somehow flushed deeper, the apples of his cheeks turning a darker shade of pink. “Yeah.”
Buck sat back up in his chair, placing his elbows on his knees, clasping his hands together in front of him. “I think they look very pretty on you,” he admitted, keeping his voice level.
Eddie visibly gulped, pupils only growing bigger as Buck inched further forward. “Really?” he punched out.
Buck smirked, suddenly emboldened. “Yeah, Eddie. You’ve been bending down in front of me on purpose all shift, haven’t you?”

“I hate when you guys act like–” Chris cuts himself off with a groan.
Buck and Eddie frown and look at each other “Like what?”
“Like you’re–“ he huffs in frustration.
“What, Chris?”
“Like you’re a married couple!” he blurts out “Like you need each other before making any major decisions regarding me just because you’re so codependent, like you… ugh, just stop! I don’t need you ganging up on me” and with that he slams the door shut.
Teenagers are complicated. When Buck and Eddie won’t allow Chris to go to a certain party, he ends up saying something that sends them into a spiral. More so when everybody seems to agree with him.

Watching Buck drive without leaning over the console and throwing himself into Buck’s lap a truly Herculean task. Because, as Eddie realizes when Buck places his hand behind Eddie’s headrest to back out of the driveway, sleeves rolled up to his forearm and his biceps straining against the fabric, teeth flashing as he smiles at Eddie with all the adoration in the world, Buck is extremely hot when he drives.
