Soft Afternoons

Summary:

The time they had known each other, Aizou eventually found out that there were things he and Yuujirou were complete opposites with.

Notes:

Know that I wrote 13 drafts today only to finish one oneshot that I worked on for 9 hours and the sole reason why Yuujirou was studying for exams is because I just had my final exams done yesterday and I'm finally on vacation yay. (^∇^)ノ♪

Not sure if it's good though, err . . .

Eh. Either way, welcome to the beginning of my aiyuu prompts series! Enjoy:3

(PS: Okay, I'll make a second part about the scene where Yuujirou came home teary-eyed with Aizou comforting him, but for now I'll leave this as a oneshot. More au's to come!!!)

Chapter Text

When Aizou entered their shared dorm, he finds his roommate asleep on the table.

His expression softened. Aizou set his bag down and carefully took a seat beside Yuujirou, not wanting to startle him, the blonde was sure he spent his whole time studying for whatever exams he had tomorrow.

He leaned on his palm and looked at the sleeping male...it was one of the cutest sights Aizou had seen.

He looks so peaceful.

Someya Yuujirou had always been a grumpy–and asshole–person, constantly throwing a tantrum when he didn't get the things he wanted. He remembered the time Yuujirou dragged him to a rock-paper-scissors tournament and–surprisingly–Aizou had won. Yuujirou lost the second round and Aizou saw how disappointed the boy was, so he gave him the stuffed penguin prize.

He'll never forget the beaming look Yuujirou had on his face upon being given the stuffed toy.

Other than that, his roommate was a complete pain in the ass.

Aizou undeniably loved him, though. Yuujirou was always mean to him, so Aizou wasn't sure whether the blue-haired disliked him or not, he was far too hard to read.

He ran his fingers through his asymmetrical bangs. Yuujirou once mentioned that he did it himself on purpose and was proud of it. Aizou snorted at the memory. He stared at his cat-like roommate, a small pout forming on his face.

"You're so cute, it's unfair…" he whispered, mostly to himself.

If you ask Aizou, their first meeting was...needless to say, very unpleasant. Aizou tried to get along with him, and all Yuujirou did was ignore him, and Aizou let him be. Aizou wasn’t sure how long the ignoring lasted, but apparently it ended after some time.

The time they had known each other, Aizou eventually found out that there were things he and Yuujirou were complete opposites with. Aizou liked cats, Yuujirou liked dogs, Aizou drinks coffee meanwhile his roommate can't, and of all, their class schedules were very different. Yuujirou's classes were in the mornings and Aizou's were in the afternoon.

Despite knowing things about him, Aizou couldn't say he was close to him at that time. It didn't change the fact that Yuujirou was salty with him, though Aizou still made the effort to greet his roommate good morning.

Their relationship stayed like that until one night–Yuujirou came back to their dorm, his eyes filled with tears, and Aizou couldn't believe what he was seeing, because he was sure Yuujirou isn't pathetic.

His roommate hesitated, but he told Aizou what happened, and eventually cried while the blonde just held him in an embrace. That night, Aizou slept beside him, comforting him the whole night he was crying.

...and at that same night, Aizou realized he had wanted Yuujirou all along.

Their relationship seemed to have improved after that, with Yuujirou giving him a nod when Aizou greeted him in the mornings, or Aizou cooking them breakfast. It was the nicest development, he thought.

“Ngh…” the blue-haired stirred awake, blinking. “Aizou...?”

Aizou grinned. "Morning, Slumber Bunny."

Yuujirou grumbled something unintelligible and rubbed his sleepy gaze, removing any traces of sleep. “When did you get back?”

“A moment ago.” he replied, “How's your nap?”

“Terrible. You were in my dream.”

“I just got back tired and this is how my roommate greets me,” Aizou sighed dramatically. The other laughed.

“Well, of course.” Yuujirou replied, “Pizza for dinner?”

Aizou considered for a moment before shaking his head. “Hmm, you need more nutrients so we’re having actual dinner.”

Yuujirou rolled his eyes, “Fine. Make it good.”

“Everything I make is good though?” Aizou snickered.

“Don't get too full of yourself.”

“Sure, but at least I didn't almost burn half of the kitchen though,” the blonde teased.

Yuujirou reddened.

“Sh...Shut up! That was one time!”

“Exactly,” Aizou’s snorted. “Which is why you’re not allowed in the kitchen, Someya.”

“Well, at least I'm not the one who slipped at the bathroom and fell plus almost breaking his arm, Shibasaki.”

“That's because you dropped your soap at the floor!” Aizou argued. “And you treated me anyways so you're already forgiven.”

“What does that even mean?”

“It means devils like you shall be forgiven by your so ever nice roommate.”

“Says who?”

“Says me!”

Yuujirou huffed. “Fine, you win this time.”

They both laughed. His roommate got up and yawned. Aizou picked up his reviewers that was sprawled all over the table and fixed it.

“Go get some rest, I'll tell you when dinner's ready.”

The boy nodded and was about to head to his room, Aizou stared at him for a moment tugging his sleeve. Yuujirou turned back to him. Whether it was from having time to think or Yuujirou being too cute, Aizou wasn’t certain why he suddenly had the courage for what he was about to do.

“Uh, can you…” Aizou hesitated for a moment before continuing. “Close your eyes for a bit?”

Yuujirou looked at him, confused, but did what he's told.

Aizou leaned down. Yuujirou's eyes fluttered open as Aizou pressed a chaste kiss on his lips before pulling away with a sly smile.

“Someya Yuujirou,” he started. “I liked you, for the longest time. If ever…you don't feel the same way,” Aizou took a deep breath, “I promise that this won't affect our friendship. But…” he rubbed his neck sheepishly. “I can't guarantee that I'll be able to stop having feelings for you, so… I understand if you decided to move out and request for a new dorm.”

“...idiot, I like you too,” Yuujirou mumbled.

Aizou blinked, completely loss for words. “Ah...eh?”

Yuujirou looked up at him, his face tinted red, “I said I like you too, you oblivious dumbass.”

Aizou couldn't help but smile, wrapping his arms around the smaller male's waist, gazing fondly at him. Yuujirou wrapped his arms around his neck, and Aizou kissed him again, both smiling into the kiss. This was all what he ever wanted.

Yuujirou pulled away, smiling. “Carry me to bed?”

Aizou smirked and carried him in his arms. “You're really exigent, you know that?”

“But that's fine, right? I'm only yours now.”

The blonde chuckled. “That, you are.”

Yuujirou grinned.

Aizou laughed as he carried his new boyfriend to the room. Surely, he had been the luckiest that day.
