Work Text:

College was tough.

Students don't sleep and needs more caffeine, always seen tiredly studying at the library or at the café, and of course, can never be late to class at all costs.

The campus Aizou was currently studying at was...difficult.

Studies didn't really bother him, no, not at all. But, well, the wideness of the area did. The building was too huge, and there were too many rooms–though that was expected. This was the same campus his brother went to, after all. He didn't have any specific place in mind either.

And so, he found himself running around the halls, trying to find his stupid class.

What was it again...Science? Agh! Whatever, whatever!

Aizou groaned.

He should've brought his phone so he could call Minami...but he forgot it at his dorm earlier. Great.

Then, he saw someone in the distance- and his eyes went wide upon realizing who it was–Aizou cursed himself for oversleeping–the principal was walking around the halls. Awesome.

He glanced at his watch.

Five minutes before class...!

Aizou held his breath and ran to the nearest classroom he could find away from the principal's view–and to his stupidity, he hadn't checked what class it was before entering.

Aizou shut the door behind him. He let out a huff.

That was so close…

Aizou shivered at the thought of what would have happened if Tamura had caught him slacking.

...at least she didn't.

He absolutely had no idea what class he was in, but the door slammed opened–startling Aizou, because what the hell–and some new students hurried in, unintentionally shoving him to the side.

“Hey, Blondie! Take a seat will ya?!” a voice called out from somewhere. Aizou internally cussed at whomever the fuck that was.

Hesitating, he took a random seat.

I need to ask someone what class this is or I'm–

“Hello.” an unfamiliar voice greeted from beside him.

Aizou jumped from his spot.

The blonde turned to the newcomer and was about to use his glare–but then froze. It was a boy with matching blue hair and blue eyes. And he looked damn tired. But maybe that's just what his natural expression is.

Aizou gulped. He's really...cute...!

“Is this seat taken?” the boy asked, snapping Aizou out of his trance.

“No,” he choked out. God please take him.

“Thanks.” the boy briefly said and sat next to Aizou, now ignoring him.

Shit. Say something!

“Uh, um,” Aizou couldn't get the words out.

“Are you new here?” the blue haired boy finally spoke, but he didn't raise his head from the book he was reading. “I've never seen you in this class before.”

“N-no, um,” a sweat ran down Aizou's cheek. He should've seen this coming.

“No?” the boy asked. “Then why are you here?”

“I–” Aizou averted his gaze. “I got...lost.”

Silence.

He heard the book close.

“Are you serious?” the cute boy turned to look at him- and oh, Aizou could only focus on him now. “You should go while you can, then.”

“W-wait! Do you know what class this is...?”

The blue haired seemed confused, but he replied anyway, “This is English.”

Oh...oh, no…

As he was about to get up and leave, the classroom door opened, and the teacher came in. “Everyone, quiet down! Class is about to start!”

Aizou tensed and he immediately sat back down. This was seriously the worst.

“Enjoy your time here.” a mocking voice said. Aizou groaned.

As the class started, Aizou found it too hard to focus. This had been the most difficult thing in his life (seriously) and he isn't getting out of here anytime soon. On top of that, he was stuck with this jackass–Someya, he learned–sending him snickers every time his brows furrowed due to something he didn't understand...and eventually, Someya found out about his last name when the teacher had called him to answer something on the board. It had been an easy one at first–but the second time, he wasn't really lucky.

...this is boring.

“Alright, Someya, can you please answer this?” the teacher requested after a moment, pointing to the sentence on the board.

Someya nodded and got up from his seat. The class watched in amazement as the boy successfully finished the incorrect and incomplete sentence written on it. Uchida gave him a nod of approval and told him to go back to his seat, to which he did a little bow before returning to his seat beside the blonde with a smirk.

Honestly, walking to a class not your own was a terrible idea. Of course, only Aizou would've done that.

“You got that wrong,” Someya commented, looking at his work sheet. “Instead of ‘Suddenly’, you should use ‘Abruptly’ or any other terms that don't refer to the overused word.”

Aizou's brows furrowed. “I don't get it.”

The blue-head rolled his eyes and got closer. “Fine, I'll teach you.” he leaned in to look at Aizou's worksheet closer, “So here's how it goes...”

Aizou gulped. He could smell Someya's shampoo from here, and holy fuck it smelled like blueberries. The blonde wondered what shampoo the boy uses.

He punched himself mentally.

Don't look like a creep, damn it...!

“There.” Someya pulled back, allowing Aizou to breathe and looked over to analyze whatever the blue head had written on his worksheet.

“Oh, wow.” Aizou's brows shot up in surprise. “You're actually really good at this.”

Someya hummed. “Well, of course, it's my specialty.”

He sure is confident.

“Hurry up and finish that, we only have ten minutes,” the boy informed.

...how exigent.

“Yes, yes, your highness.” Aizou said sarcastically, continuing his work.

Someya ended up helping him the whole time.

After sometime, Uchida was called and she excused herself out of the classroom. Eight minutes before lunch starts. At least Aizou wouldn't have to deal with extremely difficult lessons anymore. The students started chattering.

“Hey, Shibasaki.”

“Huh, uh, yes?” Aizou turned to Someya.

“What classes were you supposed to be in?”

“Oh. Err, Science.”

“Eh...” Someya's eyes wandered for a moment before going back to him. “Do you like astronomy?”

“Well, no...I'm a math person.”

“A math person?” Someya asked, raising a brow. “Really?”

Aizou chuckled nervously. “Yes.”

“You have to teach me.”

“Sure.”

Someya laughed–and it sounded nice if you ask Aizou– “Okay, but really, how did you end up here?” Someya questioned with curiosity in his tone.

“Oh, that...” Aizou scratched the back of his neck. “I overslept and got lost in the halls...I saw the principal walking by the distance and hurried to the classroom nearby and ended up entering here.”

Someya snorted. “Seriously...where's your phone?”

“I left it at the dormitory.”

“Wow. You're probably a heavy sleeper.”

“Shut up! You're certainly not any better!”

“Hmm, true. I might have sleep walked once.”

“Told you.”

“But at least I didn't oversleep and walked into the wrong classroom.”

“Hey, stop that!” the blonde's face turned red from embarrassment.

Someya laughed, and Aizou couldn't help but laugh too.

“We don't get along, do we?” Someya said casually, though his tone was different.

“Huh?” Aizou replied, confused. “Err...then is there someone you get along with?”

“Not in this class.” Someya averted his gaze.

“No way...”

“Yes way. In fact, I don't know how to talk. You're just lucky.”

Aizou frowned. He couldn't believe a pretty boy like him have no friends at all. Hell, who wouldn't want to be friends with this cute boy, Hiyori would be glad to meet him, or even Minami. They were good friends of his.

“Then, I'll be your friend!” Aizou said, determined, “You can meet my friends, too. They're nice people. I'll make sure to accompany you on your way to classes, and we'll hang out after classes!”

“Shibasaki–”

“And you can call me Aizou.”

Someya blushed. “Right…”

Ah. He probably got carried away. His hands were still holding Someya's too. How embarrassing. Aizou quickly removed himself from the other male, looking away while muttering an apology. Goddamn it...and his hands were so soft too.

“...you can call me Yuujirou.”

Aizou looked at him again. “Your name's...Yuujirou.”

“Yeah.”

“Sounds pretty.”

Someya- no, Yuujirou's face reddened, he turned away. “Weirdo.”

Aizou laughed and pinched his cheek, “You're so cute, Yuujirou.”

The blue head made a sound of surprise, “H-hey, don't touch me!” and of course, Aizou pinched his cheeks. “Stop that, Aizou!” Yuujirou whined.

“You said my name!” Aizou beamed, finally letting go of him.

Yuujirou caressed his cheek, annoyed. “I get it, don't do that again.”

Aizou laughed lightly. “No promises.”

“Ah, that's it, we're no longer friends.”

“Oh no, that's so sad,” Aizou sighed dramatically. “Anything but that please, Someya-san.”

Yuujirou smirked. “Lovers, then?”

“Woah there,” Aizou smirked back, “Getting ahead of yourself, pretty boy?”

“You're the one who got carried away earlier, Blondie.”

Aizou laughed, and Yuujirou did too.

When lunch period started, Aizou offered Yuujirou to come with him and meet his friends, but the boy refused, saying that he was with someone else. Of course, he was curious about whom it was, but he didn't dare ask.

“Will you join english classes again?” Yuujirou asked while fixing his bag.

“Who knows?” Aizou replied jokingly. He wasn't that good in english, he might not.

They walked out of the room and Yuujirou waved him goodbye before walking away. Aizou hummed while walking, and someone called out to him.

“Aizou! There you are!” a familiar voice said, running to him.

The blonde turned to see his friends, Minami and Hiyori, he gave them an awkward smile. “Hey there.”

They continued walking.

“We thought you didn't come to school at all!” Hiyori said in concern. “And you just came out of an English class...!”

Aizou laughed, but his embarrassment was clear. “Yeah...there wasn't much a choice since there was a threat in the halls earlier.”

“The principal was walking around this morning, we know.” Hiyori replied.

“So, how did it go there?” Minami asked teasingly.

“Great, thank you for asking.” Aizou scoffed, rolling his eyes. “I met someone though...”

“Who is it?” his friends both asked.

“Someone named Someya Yuujirou.”

“Oh, him!” Hiyori's eyes lit up. “I saw him with Mona!”

“Ah, yeah. He's cute.” he wasn't even going to ask how Hiyori knew that.

“Someone's got a crush.”

“I do not!”

They gave him knowing glances, Aizou huffed.

...but maybe walking in the wrong class wasn't that bad, after all.

“Hey, Yuujirou, what's that?” Mona asked, pointing out to the side of his bag.

“What?” the blue-head turned to look at the pocket of his bag, and sure enough, there was a piece of paper in it.

Yuujirou took the thing out and opened it. His eyes widened, cheeks turning bright red.
