Chapter Text
“Stop walking away!”
“You cannot tell me what to do!”
Sokka huffed in frustration, but kept running after the Fire Nation enemy—er—princess. Why he thought taking her on this trip would be a good idea was beyond him. She kept arguing with him, pointing out flaws and counterpoints to his plans, and just complaining for no apparent reason. And here he was, chasing after her.
“Listen here, Princess,” he exclaimed. “The longer we walk in the opposite direction, the longer we have to spend time with each other.”
Azula scoffed. “As tempting as it sounds to forever remove myself from your presence, it will not work! I demand satisfaction!”
“Not gonna find it at the top of this hill!”
“And how would you know!”
“Because that’s my job! To know things.”
“That’s rich, coming from the ‘idea guy’ as your friends dubbed you,” she retorted. “You wouldn’t know a master plan from a trap if it slapped you in the face. You can’t even predict my moves. What makes you think you can predict a nation’s military plans?”
“I can predict your moves just fine!” he yelled back.
“Oh, Sokka. I’d love to see you try,” she hissed.
Sokka frowned, because he was up for the challenge, but a little dry on ideas at the moment. He stopped in his tracks and began to assess his opponent.
Azula liked control and being right, but she couldn’t stand Sokka, that he knew for certain. At that thought, an idea sparked that was so diabolical even he felt bad for her.
“Alright,” he began, a rather cynical grin grew in his face. “Kiss me.”
“Oh please Sokka—”
“I dare you!” he yelled triumphantly. Sokka just knew she’d choose defeat in this situation. No way she’d kiss him. “Kiss me,” he repeated.
Azula stood frozen at the top of the hill, the choice seemed to be too much. Sokka chuckled and walked up to her, ready to escort her back to town. “This round goes to me,” he teased. “C’mon, we have to go—”
The warrior didn’t get the chance to finish his sentence because Azula’s lips forcefully met his and he was shocked, to say the least. It seemed that he misread his opponent...
When they parted, the Fire Nation princess had a smug look on her face. “I believe this round actually goes to me. Try not to stutter or fumble on our way back to town.”
But then Sokka pulled Azula in for a kiss, flustering her completely. And now it was his time to smirk. “Seems like we’re even, Princess.”
