Chapter Text
August 7th 1857.
Tommy Innit was an ex vampire hunter. A good one at that. He was one of the most respected hunters in the whole organization.
Especially being the youngest ever vampire hunter, the boy was just 15.
Key word: was.
One day, Tommy Innit didn’t show up for his shift, a strange ordeal because Tommy was always one to be on time. Because he loves his job. It brings him good money, so of course he would attend his shifts.
The evening of July 17th 1857 was the last time Tommy came to a shift. And no one knows why . There are rumors that Tommy had been taken by the strongest vampires in britain.
SBI as they were called. No one knew their real names, just what the country of Britain called them.
The Angel Of Death.
The Blood God.
And The Siren.
Tommy always expressed his annoyance in the Siren, because his name was not as cool as the other two. “A fuckin downgrade” Tommy would say.
People knew that if you spoke bad of their names you would be taken and killed, but nothing ever happened to Tommy for speaking bad of his name.
So people just assumed it finally caught up to him, he was finally attacked and killed for speaking bad of The Siren. Usually you could find the bodies of SBI’s in the forest a week after they were reported missing.
Drained of blood, they always were drained of blood. Sometimes they had stab wounds, sometimes they didn’t. It was hard to decipher which vampire had killed the poor victim.
Before Tommy Innit’s disappearance, another boy was reported missing. His name was Tubbo Underscore. He had gone missing June 17th 1857. Some people thought it was strange that Tommy Innit disappeared exactly a month after Tubbo.
Some didn’t. “Just a coincidence.” the people would say. Tommy Innit’s home was empty, when searched. No signs of a break in, no signs of struggle. The doors and windows were locked.
The door was locked from the outside, so it’s assumed he never made it home that night. They couldn’t question the boy’s roommate, because he was Tubbo Underscore. The boy who went missing a month ago.
Tommy didn’t look sain, leading to the day of his disappearance. Always heard mumbling about saving someone. Who was that someone? How it was almost time where he’d be safe to come rescue him.
The last they heard of Tommy Innit was the boys cheers as he left the organization for the night.
Then he disappeared. Never to be seen again.

June 17th 1857
Tommy groaned, as he walked home from the library. He got too caught up in reading today, and he was going to be late to dinner with Tubbo.
It wasn’t his fault! He loved researching vampires, because they amazed him . That’s a lie, he researched them to find the best and most painful way to kill them.
Because every vampire deserved to die.
He got along with the librarian. An older gentleman by the name of Phil. Honestly Tommy thought Phil was weird.
He always looked at Tommy with fondness, in his eyes. That he couldn’t explain when asked. He wore such strange clothes. A striped green and white bucket hat?
That’s what he called it. Tommy has never seen one before, so Tommy just assumed he created it.
And he wore green robes that matched. He was wearing clothes from Japan as Phil told him. He wore weird sandals too, they were like heels but with two heels.
Tommy didn’t know how to explain it but they were wooden. And always made such loud clunks when Phil walked around the library.
Kicking a rock that was in the road, Tommy picked up the pace a bit. Walking under the light from the street lights.
It was cold and misty, Tommy guessed a storm was coming soon. As there were clouds slowly covering the sky. Hiding the moon, and soon hiding the sun.
Shivering at the thought of the rain that would be arriving tomorrow, he pulled down the red beanie gifted to him from his friend Wilbur.
Wilbur was a strange man. Tall and lanky, appears and disappears through thin air. And he always seems to get what he wants.
Which is something Tommy wished he could do. God, if he could get whatever he wanted Tommy would be rich. And would never have to risk his life hunting vampires.
Well, Tommy liked his job. Because he was so young he usually dealt with younger vampires that have no clue what they're doing.
He would never forget that one vampire, claiming his name was Karl.
He told Tommy he was around 100 years old, and he couldn’t handle being alone anymore after watching his friends die. So he asked Tommy to put him out of his misery.
And Tommy did.
Tommy looked over his shoulder when he heard a crack of a branch. Tilting his head in confusion when he sees Wilbur.
Wilbur waves at him, where the fuck did he come from? Tommy stops walking and turns around to look at Wilbur.
“Hey Wil.” Tommy says, giving the older man a small wave. He is usually more energetic but he honestly wants this conversation to end fast so Tommy can go home.
“Hello gremlin child!” Wilbur smirks playfully, coming to a stop in front of Tommy. Tommy looks up at Wilbur.
Curse Wilbur and his 6’5 self. He will personally murder him when Tommy is taller. “Why are you out so late?” Tommy askes, “You know about the vampires in the area.”
Wilbur simply chuckles. It’s a dark chuckle? No, Tommy must be hearing things. “Haha, I’ll be fine. I know how to defend myself.”
Wilbur’s brown eyes crinkle from his cheeky smile. Cheeky? Tommy swears it’s more like an evil smirk..
“Why are you out this late? You’re simply a child. I say it’s more dangerous for you.” Wilbur replies, casually pushing Tommy fist when he goes to punch the man.
“I am not a child!” Tommy shouts. He crosses his arms, deciding to yell at him about this later. “I was at the library reading. The librarian kept on giving me more books to read.” Tommy shivers from the cold.
He should get home soon.
“Really? How’s your roommate Tubbo doing?” Tommy looks back up at Wilbur, something in his eyes shine dangerously.
“Oh he’s alright. But if I don’t hurry home, he’ll murder me for making dinner cold.” Tommy mumbles, he goes to say something else but is cut off by Wilbur.
“ Tommy, take your time in getting home. Take around 15 more minutes” Wilbur’s voice was nice to listen too.
It made Tommy feel calm, and collected. His thoughts though, never meant sense though.
But that’s fine. Tommy likes the feeling of cotton.
Tommy simply nods and smiles up at Wilbur. Wilbur simply smiles back, patting his head. “Thank you Tommy.”
Wilbur put his hand on Tommy’s cheek, Tommy who is still completely out of it leaned into the touch. If he was out of this trance he definitely would have slapped the hand away.
Despite feelings as though Wilbur and him were like brothers.
“ Right when you get home. Go to sleep, okay?” Tommy nods once again, making a noise of acceptance.
“Oh, and you won’t remember any of this conversation except for what I told you to do.” Wilbur grudgingly let go of Tommy’s cheek, and left him at the side of the road.
He walked into the forest and disappeared.
Tommy stayed in the same spot for another thirty seconds before the cotton slightly cleared from Tommy’s mind.
Tommy blinks the blurriness out of his eyes. Weird, what was he doing? Oh yeah, he looked down at his bag and opened it.
“Oh I forgot to return this book.” Tommy sighs. He’s going to take extra long now. He would return it in the morning but he doesn’t want to pay for giving it back a day later.
Damn, this was going to take an extra 15 minutes. Turning on his heel Tommy headed straight towards the library. Closing his bag as he walked, Tommy began to hum a song he heard.
The library was a good 10 minute walk away from Tommy and Tubbo’s house. For some reason, all Tommy can think about is going to sleep right when he gets home. As well as 15 minutes.
He can’t help but wonder why.. What’s so important about 15 minutes. It hurts his head to think about it, so he doesn’t and just continues his walk back to the library.
Soon Tommy has reached the library after a good 5 minutes. His mind echo’s with: 10 more minutes. Tommy doesn’t question why.
The library was an old building, with worn down wooden pillars and a smooth stone exterior. There were two square windows at the left and right of the large wooden doors. A circular window sits at the top of these doors.
Walking up the steps, Tommy pushes the door open with a loud creek. He walks in and lets the door shut behind him, his run down boots click on the wooden floor below him.
Tommy turns right and heads straight to the Librarian, “Oh, hello mate.” Phil says with a smile. Tommy smiles back at him.
Tommy looks down at his bag, and misses the satisfaction in Phil’s eyes at the sight of Tommy’s unfocused ones. “Hi Phil, I'm so happy you aren’t closed yet.” Tommy grabs the book at sets in on the table.
The Black Tulip. The cover reads. It’s pretty worn down from being used so much, and in all honesty Tommy didn’t think he’d actually like the book.
It was a romantic poetry book. Based on a historical event. It was originally written in French, but Phil had translated it himself. As the weird guy he was.
When did he have time to learn French? He’s told Tommy he’s been in Britain his whole life. Maybe it was a lie? Oh yeah, Phil said he had a family member teach him.
Cool.
Anyways, Tommy knows a bit of french himself, as he’s had to travel to France for a vampire that was causing havoc. Even though he was 13 the organization thought it would be okay!
God, Tommy remembers the look on Wilbur’s face when he returned home the next week.
“ Where have you been!”
“I was in France.”
“What! Why? How!?”
“The organization sent me there.”
“Oh my god, you’re thirteen!”
Wilbur kept on complaining about it for such a long time that Tommy eventually found it funny instead of tiring. “Mate? You there?” Phil asks, waving a hand in front of Tommy's face.
“Oh, y-yeah. Sorry I just remembered something.” Tommy replied, ears burning from embarrassment. Phil smiles fondly(?) at Tommy.
“That’s alright, you’re returning this now? Why didn’t you wait until tomorrow morning?” Phil asked, tilting his head to the side a bit.
Tommy thought about it for a moment. Yeah, why did he want to return it so suddenly? He was walking home.. then.. wait what happened?
God Tommy’s head hurt trying to think about it. “I didn’t want to pay the stupid 7 dollars.” Tommy groaned, sliding the book over to Phil.
Phil chuckled slightly, putting the book on the self behind him to put away later. “I’ll check you off then.” Phil smiled, “It’s getting dark, you should start heading home.” Phil’s kind smile never left his face.
“You’re tired aren’t you?”
Tommy’s tried? God his head was pounding now, Tommy tried not to wince from the pain. But Phil was right, he was tired. He was going to go home and sleep.
Tommy nodded his head in agreement, blue eyes still unfocused. Tommy waved goodbye and walked back through the door.
Five minutes his brain echoed. It should take around 10 minutes to get home now. Hopefully Tubbo isn’t too mad at him when he arrives home.
When Tommy does arrive home, he doesn’t notice how the door is already open. How the house is a mess, clear signs of struggle. Tommy goes into his and Tubbo’s shared room and falls asleep.

July 10th 1857.
It’s been almost a month since Tubbo was taken by the areshole Schlatt. That stupid fucking vampire! Just thinking about him made Tommy’s blood boil.
He had discovered Tubbo was missing the second he woke up. And how he was taken. How did he miss this last night? God how tired was he?
His mind felt more clear than it did last night. But he can barely remember anything. It hurt to think about it.
Anyways,
He only knew it was Schlatt who had taken him, because the arse has been following Tubbo for weeks. And just wouldn’t go away! After he stopped following them for a week they decided to settle down in the town with the main organization of vampire hunters.
Of course! The one time he’s late to get home Tubbo gets kidnaped by one of the most feared vampires! But like that’s going to stop Tommy from saving him.
Tommy knows that a changeling can only live off their sire’s blood for the first month of their transformation, into a vampire. To play it safe Tommy is assuming Tubbo was turned.
He knew where Schlatt’s house of residence was because of the fact he was working for the vampire hunter organization. All he had to do was listen in on a meeting between the leaders of the organization.
Tommy would say he was smart. Scratch that he is smart. He’s not letting some old man who’s been alive sense probably the 1400’s take his best friend away from him.
Even if Tubbo was a vampire he wouldn’t treat him any different. He just had to wait, and he hopes Tubbo has been doing alright. Because he can leave in two days, because in two days marks the month anniversary of Tubbo going missing.
And assuming Schlatt immediately turned him, Tubbo wouldn’t need to drink his sire’s blood by the time Tommy rescued him.
Tubbo could survive off of Tommy’s blood. Hopefully. It’s not like they can’t steal blood packages from the hospitals that are in each town. Tommy prays his assumption is correct that Tubbo has been a vampire for a month.
Because if not, his plan will all go to shit. Tubbo will die without his sire’s blood.
Tommy wasn’t going to let Tubbo die.

July 13th 1857
Wilbur slammed open the door of the dining room. Both Phil and Techno looked up at him in question.
Usually Wilbur was calm and collected even if pissed off. Something really bad must have happened.
“Wil? What is it?” Phil asks, pushing his chair back and standing up. Wiping off non existent dust and straightening his tie. Phil hated wearing these types of clothes, but he had a meeting today so he had to look presentable.
“He, he fucking left!” Wilbur screamed slamming something on the table, it looked to be a crumpled up piece of paper.
“Who left?” Techno yawns, pulling his sleeves down. He was awake all night killing those stupid vampire hunters. They had gotten too close.
Phil reached the other side of the table and grabbed the paper off of the table. Wilbur was pacing back and forth mumbling curses.
Phil blinked a few times, trying to read the scratch on the paper. Whoever wrote this had horrible writing.
Clearing his throat, Phil began to read the letter out loud.
Hi Wilbur, i’m assuming you're going to come to my house after not seeing me for a couple of days so I'm leaving you this letter so you don’t assume I've been kidnaped or killed.
I have left the town of L’Manberg and I am traveling someplace else. I wish I was able to tell you this in person, but I had to prepare.
I’m not telling you what though. You fucking bitch. Anyways, don’t come looking for me because i’ll probably never come back.
Who knows i might not be alive when you're reading this! Haha.
Anyways, thanks for being like a brother to me Wilbur. It meant a lot.
Please tell Phil the Librarian to read The seven poor travelers if he hasn’t already.
It’s honestly my favorite book in existence.
Alright i’m running out of room now.
So bye Wilbur, hope you have a horrible, bad, good life.
-Tommy Innit
Phil red eyes boiled in anger and in shock.
God Dammit.
