Stiles walked in to find Erica, Lydia and Allison sitting on the floor surrounded by a mass of flowers from which they were ripping petal after petal and dumping them into a basket.
He was curious to know what they are doing but was hurriedly pulled away by Scott.
“Scott, man, what are they doing?” Stiles asked while his eyes made a search for his mate and he wondered why he hadn't seen him in a while.
“Where’s Derek?” Stiles asked as his best friend didn’t reply to his previous question.
“Stiles, come on, we need to go,” Scott said, trying to urge his friend out of the house.
“Make sure he wears something decent!” Erica called.
“I am wearing something decent!” Stiles retorted.
Erica rose and walked toward Stiles, pointing her finger at his chest. “This shirt and shorts are not decent,” she insisted. Ignoring Stiles’ offended spluttering she turned to Scott and warned him, “Make sure he wears something decent, Scott. Or do I need to send Lydia with you?”
“No need! I’ll find something for him!” Scott assured her, waving his hands in a clear ‘please don’t send Lydia’ gesture at her.
“You better,” Erica said, watched Scott push Stiles out the door to leave. Dropping her voice she whispered so only Scott with his werewolf senses could hear her. “I’ll text you when we’re ready,” she said.
Scott nodded and led Stiles away from the Hale house.
Boyd did with Derek what Scott did with Stiles, except he took him in the opposite direction. He’d been told by the ladies in the pack not to let Stiles and Derek see each other or communicate in any way, along with other instructions involving what Derek should wear, etc, and he knew better than to mess up his orders lest he incur their wrath. His girlfriend had told him about their plan, and he’d happily agreed to go along with it.
They all knew Stiles and Derek had been dating for more than two years now and we’re sick of watching it going nowhere. They didn’t know that Derek had already bought a ring, Peter having forgotten to let the pack know about that fact.
So they set out to plan a secret wedding for Derek and Stiles. They wanted to make it special for them and had even brought the sheriff in on the plan. He was pleased to help with everything just to see his son happy.
John knew that Stiles would’ve liked his mom there to walk him down the aisle, but in her absence John would do his best to fill that void and walk him down the aisle himself. The sheriff couldn’t wait for the wedding to begin.
Now it was their time to shine. They just hoped that everything would go as planned.
Later that day, when everything was in place, Erica sent texts to Boyd and Scott informing them it was okay to bring Stiles and Derek back to the house. They arrived with the two grooms both wearing tuxes, but they still didn’t let them see each other, setting them both up in different rooms.
When they were ready to start the wedding, Derek was the first one to be walked down the aisle, escorted by Peter who only smiled at him. Lydia was waiting for them at the end of the aisle and motioned to Derek where to stand before their attention was drawn by the sound of music starting.
Cora then came up the aisle carrying a basket from which she scattered the flower petals Erica, Allison and Lydia had been working on earlier as The Wedding March played in the background.
“You didn’t?” Derek asked as he looked around at the pack, all of whom just smiled innocently at him.
Derek could feel tears of joy welling up in his eyes as he watched his sister come to stand beside him before Stiles appeared at the other end of the aisle with his father next to him.
They began walking towards Derek and as they did so he saw his mate mouth the words, ‘Did you know about this?’
Derek shook his head as Stiles drew level with him and John kissed his son, telling him how happy he was for him and Derek before sitting down next to Melissa who was crying her own happy tears.
“No, I didn’t know about it, but I was planning to propose to you anyway tonight,” Derek told Stiles.
“Well, then, I guess we should jump to it and get married already,” Stiles replied as he kissed his alpha.
“Stiles, come stand next to your alpha, I have a ceremony to start,” Lydia said, nudging him playfully. She threw Stiles a mock glare as he mimed zipping his mouth and gestured for her to start the show.
“Before we get started, is there anyone here who objects to this marriage?” Lydia asked as she examined the crowd of faces.
Peter rose up, getting glares from everyone, as he smirked and said, “What? I’ve always wanted to do that.”
“Sit down, you creepy wolf, no one had better not try stopping my wedding,” Stiles growled at Peter.
Derek and the crowd just chuckled, as Derek held Stiles’ hand, keeping it close, and both of them turned to look at Lydia, who was trying to keep her cool.
“Do you, Derek Hale, take this man to be your husband?” Lydia asked as she looked at Derek.
“I do,” Derek replied and got the ring from Cora and placed it on Stiles’ finger.
“Do you, Mieczysław Stilinski, take this man to be your husband?” she then asked Stiles, addressing him by his formal name.
“Damn right, I do,” Stiles replied, the smile never leaving his face as he looked over at his husband.
“Then, by the power invested in me by the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and husband! You may now kiss your husband!” Lydia declared, but was ignored by the newlyweds as they had already started kissing each other before she had said they could.
“Finally,” John said loudly and hurried over to his son and new son-in-law as soon as they broke the kiss. “I’m happy for you, son. For both of you.”
“Thanks, Dad,” Stiles said, hugging him.
“I guess this officially makes me pack mom to you all,” Stiles quipped, grinning at the pack when he’d stepped out of his father’s embrace.
“You already were, even before the wedding, Stiles Hale-Stilinski,” Derek told him as he moved his hand to gently brush Stiles’ cheek before he kissed him again.
“For the record, they succeeded in surprising us. I think we should give them a weekend without us telling them what to do,” Stiles said to his new husband as they strolled through the house hand in hand and entered the dining room to find it full of food and the crowd waiting for them to come start the celebration.
“Hmm, maybe just this once,” Derek replied with a grin before leading his mate over to inspect the wedding cake.
