Notes:

I procrastinated writing this for a good month but then I was hit with inspiration at 3 in the morning so here we are.

Chapter Text

Katsuki is dying. His chest is tightening up and his stomach is in knots. This is the end for him, and Eijirou is crying by his side. “Quit your fucking laughing!” Katsuki yelled at Eijirou, “I’m sorry! ‘M sorry this is just too funny!” Katsuki glared at him and started throwing profanities left and right.

The day before...

It first happened during hero training. Katsuki and Eijirou were paired up for sparring, and they were lunging back and forth at each other, throwing attack after attack. They have both grown stronger over time, now second-years, so it wasn’t as easy to take down Eijirou as before.

“Just go down already shitty hair!” Katsuki yelled, and gave Eijirou a bigger blast than usual, but of course, Eijirou was still standing, a smug smirk on his face. “C’mon man! Y’know it’s gonna take a hell of a lot more to bring me down!” Eijirou teased, smirk still plastered on his face.

Katsuki faltered, taken aback by the look on Eijirou’s face, a sudden, swirling feeling in his stomach. Eijirou noticed Katsuki distracted, and ran in to launch an attack.

He sprinted towards a distracted Katsuki, and landed a hit right under his jaw, knocking him out in the process. Katsuki woke up in Recovery Girl’s office, Eijirou by his side. That weird feeling still there, maybe he’s sick? There’s no way.

Eijirou looked up, and his eyes widened. “You’re up! Are you okay? ‘M sorry I hit you so hard, I didn’t think it would knock you out.. D’ya need anything? Water? Food? I think I saw some chocolate-”

“-Shut up, shitty hair.” Katsuki cut him off. “I think my brain did a somersault when you hit me.” Katsuki teased. Eijirou just looked at him, not a thought between his eyes. “A-are you serious..? I can’t tell.” Katsuki just stared at him.

“You’re a fucking idiot, ya know.” He moved to get out of the bed.  “Oh c’mon!! That’s not nice” Eijirou pouted. When Katsuki looked at Eijirou, that weird feeling only got stronger.

“What the hell?” Katsuki said to himself. “Hm? What’s wrong?” Eijirou questioned, getting up to get Katsuki some water. “I think I have some sorta stomachache.” Katsuki replied.

Eijirou handed him the cup of water, and their fingers brushed. Eijirou paused, seeming to have no reaction, but Katsuki flinched and the contact. There’s no pain, so it couldn’t have  been a stomach ache though. It was more ticklish than painful.

“Maybe you ate something bad?” Ejirou suggested, walking back to the door. “Dunno, maybe.” “Anyways I think I’m gonna go, class ended an hour ago and I wanna freshen up.” Eijirou said, standing in the doorway.

Katsuki looked up at Eijirou, “You stayed here with me for an hour?”

“Huh? Oh- I guess I did…”

Katsuki’s stomach felt like it was spinning in circles at this point. “Thanks, I guess. You didn’t need to stay y’know.” Katsuki mumbled. Eijirou gave Katsuki a bright smile, and Katsuki couldn’t help but notice the small dimples by his mouth.

“I had to! I mean I was the one who put you in here.” Eijirou paused, “Just let me know if you need anything, you can count on me!” Eijirou continued, his smile growing brighter. “Sure, shitty hair.” Katsuki turned away to clean up his face. He heard the door shut, and he let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding.

He looked at himself in the mirror, he had gauzes wrapped around his head, mostly around his chin, a few areas with dried blood from Eijirou’s punch. “I look like fuckin’ shit. “ Katsuki said to himself, “Shit, and he had to see me like that.” Katsuki thought.

That stupid feeling still there. Katsuki drank the water Eijirou gave him, and began to remove the gauze and clean up his face.

He walked over to the dorms, passing Deku on the way. “Oh- Kacchan! How are you feeling?” Deku asked, he stopped walking to look at Katsuki. “Fuckin’ fine! Shitty Deku, quit worrying about me.” Katsuki answered in a harsh manner.

Deku wasn’t phased by Katsuki’s words, knowing he didn’t mean harm. “Okay Kacchan! When are we gonna train with Blackwhip again?”  “I dunno. My stomach won’t stop bothering me, I’ll let y’know nerd.” Katsuki turned around to walk away, but another voice interrupted him.

“Maybe you’re constipated, have you tried laxatives?” Todoroki asked bluntly. He heard Deku snort at the comment. “Fuck you! Both of you! Drop dead!” He yelled at them, and walked away.

Katsuki walked into the common room, seeing Kaminari and Eijirou talking about some manga series on the couch. Katsuki’s stomach started swirling  again. He ignored it and headed to his room.

“Bakugou? Are you okay?” Uraraka asked him. “Why is everyone askin’ me this. ‘M fucking fine round face.” Katsuki grumbled, trying to walk past her. “Hm. I don’t think so.” Uraraka insisted, a teasing hint in her voice.

She blocked his path, and Katsuki was five seconds from sending her to space without the help from her quirk. “I. Am. Fuckin’. Fine.” Katsuki snapped.  Uraraka sighed, a look of defeat on her face. “Okay, fine.” She said, putting her hands to show she’s given up.

“But if y’need anything, let me know.” She teased, poking his cheek with her finger. Katsuki rolled his eyes at her, and once again, tried to go to his room.  “Hey man!” Katsuki just paused, getting fed up. “Wha’dya fucking want?” Katsuki hissed, getting annoyed at this point.

“Oh- uh- sorry dude, I’ll leave you alone..” Katsuki turned around, and of course, he snapped at Eijirou. There was a frown on his face, and Katsuki immediately felt guilty. “Shit. Sorry. I didn’t know it was you. ‘M not having a good today today and people keep bothering me and shit.” He reassured.

“What’re you doing up here? Weren’t you just talking with dunce face?” Katsuki noticed Eijirou’s face turn a bit red. “Haha, I saw you come up so I wanted to check up on you.” Katsuki raised an eyebrow, “But, you were just with me?”

Eijirou didn’t reply, and Katsuki sighed. “Oh, also are you okay? You look- I don’t know how to say it but you’ve had a sort of confused look on your face since you woke up, so I wanted to ask.” Eijirou asked, quickly changing to topic.

Katsuki swore he was going to explode the entire building and then himself, but he kept calm. He didn’t want to make Eijirou upset again. “I’m fine, idiot.” Katsuki mumbled, the feeling in his stomach growing stronger. “Shit..” Katsuki whispered to himself. Eijirou looked at him, worry plastered all over his face.

“What's wrong? Is your jaw hurting you?” Eijirou asked, walking towards Katsuki. “No! No. It’s fine, my stomach, remember?” Katsuki said, feeling growing stronger as Eijirou walked closer. Why is his heart beating so fast?

“Alright man! If you ever need just knock on the wall! Perks of being dorm buddies.” Eijirou grinned. Katsuki didn’t say anything, trying to process what Eijirou said.  “Dorm… buddies..?” Katsuki repeated. Eijirou continued to flash a smile at Katsuki. “Kirishima, what the fuck are dorm buddies?” Katsuki questioned.

“Us! We’re dorm buddies! Y’know.. we live in the dorms, and we’re right next to each other, and we’re friends… so, dorm buddies!” Eijirou gushed. Katsuki didn’t even bother to reply, he just rolled his eyes and turned to open his door.

“See ya!” Eijirou waved, and walked into his room. Katsuki walked into his room, and changed into his regular clothes. He grabbed his laptop and sat on his bed, he looked up ‘random swirly feeling in stomach’.

Articles came up, most talking about possible stomach viruses, but he didn’t have any other symptoms. He noticed his heart rate increased at times, but that doesn’t relate to anything.  He scrolled through more articles, some suggesting pregnancy, and some said he might have anxiety.

For some reason ‘butterflies’ were mentioned once in a while. What would butterflies have to do with stomach aches? He spent a good thirty minutes searching for an answer, but he had no luck.

Maybe he’s dying, and this is his body’s way of telling him it’s time to go. Katsuki scoffed at the idea. His body will die when it tells him to, which will never happen. He looked at his computer screen, the search bar empty. His last resort is one of those robot doctors that automatically reply. He searched one up, and clicked the first one that didn’t require money for a diagnosis.

The site loaded, and he made an account. It took a while, but then he was in a chat with some robot lady named Pearl, the doctor’s assistant. Katsuki scoffed at the fake picture by the name, and typed his question.

Pearl: Welcome! How can I help you with your medical question?

Kingexplosion0420: i have a swirly type of feeling in my stomach and it wont go away

Pearl: The Doctor can help. Just a couple quick questions before I transfer you. How long has this been a concern for you?

Kingexplosion0420: a couple of hours

Pearl: How old are you? Are you currently using any medications?

Kingexplosion0420: sixteen and no

Pearl: Anything else in your medical history you think the Doctor should know?

Kingexplosion0420: no

Pearl: Okay got it. I’ll transfer you now.

Katsuki waited to be transfered. What was he doing? He’s probably just overthinking at this point. There’s no way he’s sick. He’s never been sick before, and he never will be. Right?

The Doctor: Welcome to JustAnswer. You come to us with your health problems and we diagnose you, free of charge! Now, Kingexplosion0420 I heard you have a swirly feeling in your stomach. Did you eat something weird maybe?

Kingexplosion0420: not that i know of

The Doctor: I see. How long has this swirly feeling been going on for?

Katsuki’s patience was slowly snapping.

Kingexplosion0420: a couple hours ago, i was training and then it just happened

The Doctor: I see. Do you have any other symptoms?

Kingexplosion0420: thats the weird thing. it doesnt even hurt. its just there

The Doctor: I see. You could be constipated or pulled a stomach muscle. If you enjoyed JustAnswer, please leave us a five star rating. We greatly appreciate it. We hope our diagnosis fixes your problem.

Kingexplosion0420: thats it???

The Doctor: Session has ended. For another diagnosis please pay the fee.

His patience snapped.

Katsuki slammed his laptop shut and proceeded to shove his face into the closest pillow he could find. “This is fuckin’ useless!” He screamed. “I see this I see that.. I’ll see my way up your fuckin’ ass!” He mocked.

He laid there fuming for a couple of minutes when he heard his phone ring. It was Eijirou. Of course his stomach would start acting up again, great timing.

Shitty Hair: bakugou?? you okay?? i heard you screaming.. again…

Bakugou: im fine. just annoyed.

Shitty Hair: oh alright. do you want to come over? you can use my punching bag to let out some steam :DD

As much as Katsuki wanted to go over, his stomach was telling him no. It’s just getting worse at this point, he’s hit a dead end.

Bakugou: its okay, thanks. another time maybe.

Shitty Hair: okay man!! just let me know, im always available. ᕦ༼ ͡° ͜ ͝° ༽ᕤ

Katsuki chuckled at the little emoticon Eijirou sent, and it felt like his stomach burst into flames. It didn’t burn though, that feeling he had just got super intense at that moment. What the hell is happening?

Maybe Katsuki did have to ask someone for help. He could only think of one person to ask though. It’s a small chance he will though, he rarely, more like never asks for help. But it’s only been a day and he feels like he’s going to go mad.

There’s nothing to worry about, he can just sleep it off. It’ll be gone by morning.
