Confrontation

Summary:

Morisuke is well aware he's courting one of the hottest alphas at Nekoma. People are all over Lev, for romantic purposes as well as because he's just a great person. Morisuke is fine with that. He's personally a bit proud, even, for an omega who never thought much of himself. He somehow managed to nail down an alpha as fine as Lev. Someone the whole school could collectively agree was just objectively ridiculously attractive. Yet somehow, until now, Morisuke had never encountered that snake that could envelop ones heart so quick as jealousy. That was about to change, and as an omega who'd never had much to defend, Morisuke is suddenly faced with the strength of fury generated when someone genuinely tried to come along and steal his alpha.

{30 Day OTP Challenge Day 14 - Jealousy}

Notes:

Morisuke isn't very good at making it clear how much he hates other omegas coming on to Lev. Until today, that is ^-^

Please enjoy~

Work Text:

Day 14 - Jealousy

This is what I get for courting one of the hottest alphas at Nekoma.

Morisuke thought to himself, feeling a very odd array of emotions he wasn’t all too fond of.

He was standing near the school gates, waiting on Lev so they could go…well, he wasn’t even sure what they were supposed to be doing. He did know Lev’s parents were out of the country, and his sister was at university, so he suspected a movie night where they get distracted halfway through the film might be in store.

And while he wouldn’t voice such a thing, Morisuke was very much so looking forward to it.

So as he stood there, casually plotting up snacks to pick up at the corner store before they went to his alpha’s place, he was made witness to a scene of supreme awkwardness.

Lev was standing just outside the doors from the first-years floor, trying his best to dislodge himself from two omegas, one girl and one boy, who were all but drooling over him.

“Haiba-kun, are you doing anything tonight? Why don’t we go to karaoke!”

“S-Sorry, I’ve got plans, uh….”

“You do!? Aw, maybe next time?”

“Well, I dunno….”

Lev’s so nice. Why is he so nice?

Morisuke was usually quite proud of how kind Lev was, not your typical alpha male, but in this one scene, he wished Lev would be a bit brasher.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t happening. Lev was far too sweet to blow anyone off like that, so instead, he continued sidling towards the gates, trying to escape and failing miserably to get the message across that he wasn’t interested in the duo's advances.

Morisuke gripped the strap of his messenger bag tighter, trying to ignore the rapid clash of his beast and his conscious self.

They’re all over my alpha…why can’t they just go find someone else to fawn over!?

Rage was something it seemed the two could agree on, although Morisuke wasn’t about to admit he thought of Lev in such terms as ‘my alpha’ in his own private brain space.

“But Haiba-kun, you’re just gonna go hang out with that third year again, right? He’ll be gone soon, anyway!” The female omega whined, and the guy with her nodded to support her point.

Lev’s eyes widened in surprise at the overt statement in the midst of what had previously been such a light-hearted, albeit awkward, conversation.

“Well, if or not he’s here doesn’t change who else I’ll hang out with.” Lev had been so blindsided he struggled to find a proper response to the two’s words, but Morisuke heard their insinuation loud and clear.

Who’s gonna satisfy you once he’s gone?

Something snapped, and Morisuke stalked around the corner with all the presence of a pissed-off grizzly bear.

The two who’d been hitting on Lev saw him and immediately looked at each other, at a loss for what to do as Morisuke approached.

Lev seemed relieved he’d been given an out to the situation, but before he could latch on to Morisuke and use him as an escape, his omega had marched straight past him and up to the two first years.

“You think you could kindly back off what’s not yours?” He demanded scathingly.

The boy, seeming the more timid of the two, leaned back, having taken the message, but the girl just crossed her arms. “And who says he’s yours forever, Senpai? You’re not gonna be here this time next year.”

Morisuke felt his eye twitch. “I’d recommend you remember just because I won't be around doesn't mean he's won't be mine anymore.”

There was a long moment of silence, but the girl just scoffed. “I can’t believe a third-year landed the hottest upper in our class. And you weren’t even trying!”

“Maybe that’s the secret? So stop throwing yourself at my alpha and piss off, would you?” Morisuke replied flatly.

It wasn’t any sort of explosive confrontation. In fact, it actually concluded with a pretty open-ended glaring contest.

It seemed, however, that the first-year duo wasn’t willing to insult Morisuke to his face, especially after he’d made it clear how furious he. So they retreated.

As soon as she’d turned her shoulder, silently conceding the win to Morisuke, the older omega spun on his heel and walked to Lev, who was standing a few feet behind him.

“Let’s go.” He said shortly, seizing Lev’s arm and dragging him out the gate.

They walked in silence for a while, Morisuke silently stewing in this pent-up sensation he was finally figuring out must be jealousy before Lev broke into a panicked explanation.

“Mori, I don’t even, like, know them! I just want you to know that! Like, I don’t like them, they just keep bothering me, and I try to be nice and just brush them off, but they’re really persistent, and I….”

“Lev, it’s fine. You didn’t do anything wrong.” Morisuke replied flatly.

They skipped the convenience store and went straight to Lev’s house, and the alpha was quick to unlock the door and let them in.

Once they were inside, Lev dropped his backpack and deflated onto the couch.

“What a pain! I’ll tell them to just leave me alone next time, I….”

Before he could finish his sentence, Morisuke was on top of him, straddling his lap on the couch, bringing their lips together.

Lev wasn’t about to protest, and the next several minutes were spent on a very stress-relieving make-out session. When they finally took a moment to breathe, Lev noticed Morisuke’s scent had changed rather distinctly.

It was...heavier, almost. That scent like strawberry and vanilla was weaving into the air far more than it usually would.

The next thing he knew, his omega was nuzzling at the juncture of his neck and shoulder, and his scent was growing in intensity.

Lev felt his cheeks flush. “Uh, Mori, what are you….”

“Shut up.”

“But you really don’t need….”

Shut up. You do it to me all the damn time. Shut up.” Morisuke was clearly beyond embarrassed, but he was willing to do it anyway.

Scenting between courting couples wasn’t a strange thing to do. Not at all. In fact, it was a typical thing in high school courtships, what with everyone going after each other in that social cesspool. Lev had scent-marked Morisuke on multiple occasions, but Morisuke had always been far too shy to reciprocate.

Lev was all for it. He’d secretly wanted to feel like his omega was a bit possessive of him for months now. Alphas were all growling and snarling over their lowers, sure, but omegas were territorial in their own right.

Not to mention having Morisuke all over him like this was welcome for any reason whatsoever.

After his court mate seemed satisfied that Lev wasn’t about to get approached by anyone of the lower genders for at least a week, he leaned back again.

The way his lips turned down into a pout and his face betrayed him by flushing red, it was perfect.

Yet Morisuke didn’t seem his typical sort of flustered.

Instead, he looked somewhat unsure about something, and Lev wrapped his arms around his waist, pulling them close together again.

“What’s wrong?”

“…when I’m gone next year, what are you gonna do?”

Lev blinked, thinking the question over, before he laughed, smothering his face against Morisuke’s shoulder.

“H-Hey! I’m serious!” The auburn-haired boy exclaimed, but Lev just kept laughing until he calmed himself.

He pressed his cheek against the side of Morisuke’s neck as he spoke, drawing a contented sigh from his omega with the movement.

“…I’ll count the days till you come back. Or I can go visit you. I’ll call you every day and night. Text you every hour. And I’ll miss you like hell, I’m sure. But it’s ok because that just means I need to treasure every moment I have with you right now more.”

Morisuke groaned, giving a slight smack to Lev’s back, where his arms were currently loosely dangling. “You weren’t supposed to get sappy.”

“How can I answer that without being sappy?” Lev demanded, lifting his head and kissing Morisuke on the cheek.

“I love you. I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again. As many times as you’d like to hear it.”

Morisuke seemed satisfied with this conclusion if a little stiff from how sweet this was all getting. He hugged Lev, tightening his arms around the alpha’s neck, tucking his chin against his shoulder.

He played his fingers up into the base of Lev’s silvery hair a moment before he mumbled.

“…maybe I’d like to hear it one more time.”

“I love you, Mori,” Lev said without hesitation.

“Yeah. I love you, too.”

The movie would have to wait a little while because cuddles and a nap were seeming far more alluring at the moment, but that was beautiful in and of itself.
