Work Text:

No one can ever say that Bangtan can’t throw a party. Even though it would only be them and Y/n, they had gone all out with the decorations. The practice room had lights strung around all four walls, the biggest Christmas tree they could find, and beautifully wrapped gifts beneath it. They had had dinner catered in so that no one would have to cook, and they had a several bottles of wine.

No one had realized it, but Seokjin and Yoongi had gotten tired of waiting on everyone else to get ready and started pregaming before the party. They had started taking shots of soju 30 minutes before they were meant to leave. By the time they arrived, they were both in the giggly, fun part of being buzzed. As soon as they arrived, Hoseok started the playlist they had prepared, and everyone was dancing around being silly.

Y/n was wearing a red sweater dress and a headband with a tiny Santa hat on one side. Seokjin thought she looked beautiful, even if she was dancing a little closer to Jimin than he’d like. It wasn’t like Y/n was dating any of them, but Seokjin really liked her. He was just drunk enough to decide that tonight was the night he needed to confess to her. He went and poured her a glass of the red wine she liked and after the song was over, he took it to her and took her hand to lead her off the designated dancing space.

“Thank you for the glass of wine, Seokjinnie,” she said, taking a sip.

“You’re welcome.” He smiled sweetly at her. “You have to be Santa’s prettiest elf. I really like your dress.”

She giggled. “Have you been drinking already?”

“How’d you guess?”

“You’re extra flirty and your face is flushed. But I think it’s cute.”

They chatted for a little bit, laughing and joking around, until Yoongi interrupted them. “Hyung, look up.”

Seokjin looked up and burst into laughter. They had been standing under a bunch of mistletoe that Taehyung had insisted on hanging earlier. It normally wouldn’t have been a big deal, but the room was strangely silent. Seokjin looked around to find all 6 of his brothers staring at them expectantly.

“Well, go ahead, hyung. You have to kiss her. You’ve been standing there under the mistletoe for 20 minutes now,” Jimin teased.

Seokjin met her eyes. “Are you okay with that? If not, it’s okay.”

“I’m okay with it.”

They stood there a little awkwardly before Jin finally leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips. It was a chaste, simple kiss, but it made his stomach do a big flip. When they parted, they stood staring at each other, and as giddy-drunk as Jin had been, he suddenly felt very sober. The other members were giggling and teasing them a little bit before finally stepping away.

“Wow,” Jin whispered. “Y/n, before we join the others, can I tell you something?”

Instead of speaking, she nodded shyly.

“Okay…well, I don’t know how to say this, but I really like you. I have for a while. I know I’m kind of springing this on you, and it’s okay if you don’t feel the same. Would you go on a date with me?”

She smiled so brightly as he stammered out his confession. “I like you a lot too, Jinnie. I’d love to go on a date with you. And I wouldn’t mind kissing you again.”

Instead of saying anything in reply, he leaned down and kissed her gently again. This time, he cradled her face in his hands while she ran her hands up his chest.

“Alright, Lovebirds. Wrap it up. We want to eat so we can open presents,” Jungkook whined from beside the table holding their dinner.

They finally broke the kiss and rejoined the rest of the group. They ate dinner, holding hands the entire time. After dinner, they all gathered around the Christmas tree and exchanged the gifts they’d all brought.

“Not to be cheesy, but I think you were my favorite gift tonight, Y/n,” Jin told her as they were helping the others clean up a bit.

She laughed a bit at that. “I’m pretty sure you make a better gift than I do, Love.”

“Maybe so. I do put the Jin in Jingle,” he joked.

“Hyung, that was terrible,” Taehyung moaned from beside them. “Y/n, if you ever get tired of his puns, you can always come to me. I’ll take care of you.”

“Yah! Stop it, Tae!”

“Tae, leave them alone. At least we don’t have to listed to Hyungie pine over Y/n anymore,” Namjoon interrupted before they could argue anymore.

“Besides, I love his dad jokes. They’re a part of him, and I’m pretty fond of him,” Y/n defended Jin. “So if he says he puts the Jin in Jingle, then he does.”

Jin smiled brightly at that and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a back-hug. He couldn’t have imagined being any happier than he was in that moment.
